MAX POV
I got to clas-s and while I was putting my stuff at my desk, Geoffrey c@m£ to me
“So Mr lover boy, did you tell her yesterday?” He asked
“Am not in the mood to tell you that now” I said giving him an angry glare before walking off to Jack who sat on his desk staring at Andrea empty seat beside him
“We have to talk” I said and he looked up at me
“About what?” he asked
“This has to be done pri-vately, come with me, Now!” I said and left the clas-s.
A while later Jack c@m£ out to meet me, giving me aռ angry glare just as I was giving him tօօ,
“What do you have to say ?”he asked
“Did you offer to pay for Andrea trip?”I asҡɛɖ.
“Why ask me that?” he replied with a զʊɛstɨօռ.
“You are the only one here with enough reason to do so” I saɨɖ, and when he didn’t answer I decided to ask the question that has been bothering me ever since I learnt of this student who offered to pay for Andrea.
“You know the truth about Andrea right?” I asked and he stared at me in surprise giving me the answer i nee-ded
“You know her secret?” I asked again
“Yes I know what she has been hiding ,Have known this for a long time now” He replied
“And you never told anyone, were you planning to use this on Andrea?”I asked
“If I were planning to use it on her, she would always be loitering around me instead of with you”he said
“She thinks you are the only one who knows her secret, If she finds out that I know it, maybe she might give me some of her attention”He said
“Don’t you dare use her secret to blackmail her?”i աaʀռɛɖ.
“I wouldn’t stoop that low, have known her secret for a while now and have kept shut about it, do not worry, I won’t be a threat to Andrea peace of mind” he said as he began to walk off
“Why? Why do you choose to keep quiet ?” I asked again wanting to know more, he was hesitant to reply but then he ti-ght£ñed his fist and gave me a ha-rd look
“Because I love her, I love Andrea and I would never try to hurt her by ma-king her secret known” He replied confirming my worst ʄɛaʀs.
Getting angry I walked back to him and pu-ll him by his shi-t
“What did you just say?”I asked
“That ɨ am in love with Andrea, that am crazy about her and now that you know, I won’t be backing off”he said
“You won’t be backing off?”I asked and he pushed me away before giving me a reply
“I won’t be and so get re-ady, I plan on having Andrea for myself ” He said as he walked off
I felt so angry, Jack knew yet he kept shut and am sure that when the time comes, he will want to use it against Andrea and f0rç£ her to do something she ɖօɛsռ’t want to do
I left the school in anger and went back home, I still had to know why mom had paid.
My Mother had been the anonymous person who payed
She has never given out something without expecting something. In return, she would surely want to get something back from Andrea or would she have gotten it from Andrea? I thought as I went in search of Andrea first but it seemed Like she had gone to the hospital
quic-kly I went to meet my mom who was still in her room, getting re-ady for the day
“Something great must have happened for you to have come into my room”She said
“Why did you pay for Andrea trip?”I asked
“I knew you were going to ask me that and that is why I waited for you to come back before leaving for work “she said as she turned to look at me
“Tell me why you decided to help Andrea ?”I asked again
“It’s simple,she is the daughter of an employee and I just didn’t want her to miss out on the trip “She answered as she put on her earring
“Mom st©p it and cut to the chase, you must have asked some thing in return from Andrea, you don’t do anything for free mom”I said again
“Fine you caught me, I thought you were going to buy my lies for a while but you are not smart for nothing” She said
“Well I did help Andrea but I didn’t ask for any thing from her instead you will be the one doing it “She said
“What do you mean?”I asked
“I saw the way you were looking at her, that is not the look of a friend Max, I don’t like it”
“After what you did with Nick, do you think you have a right to tell me how to live my life?”
“As long as I am your mother, I do have that right Max and am telling you now that I don’t want you to have any thing going with that girl”She said
“Or else what?”
“You will f0rç£ me to do things, things that will hurt her” She saɨɖ.
“What do you want me to do?”
“Get back with Rose” She saɨɖ.
“Rose is someone I detest, she cheated on me with my own brother, do you think that she won’t do it with someone else?”I asked
“She won’t, she as-sured me of that and what happened with Nick, it’s now in the past, move on my son”
“Pay Rose more attention, speak to her, get close to her during this trip, that’s all I ask for, at least get to know her again, she has change”She said
“Is that all I have to do to protect Andrea and her mom?” I asked
“If you want it to be that way,then yes,that’s all you have to do”She replied
“So be it, I will be civil towards Rose,that’s all I can as-sure you of for now”
“For your own good and for Andrea, you should stay away from her, you know what your father is like, he won’t ever let you be with someone who is not in our clas-s” she added
“I alre-ady agree to be civil towards Rose, what I do with Andrea is now my business”I said and left the room in anger.
ANDREA POV
“What?” I asked as I left what I was doing to put the phone in my ear
“When the teacher had called out the names of the students that will be going for the trip, your name was among it”Beatrice replied
“But I didn’t pay and I don’t want to go”I said
“Well someone did pay for you and remember there is no refund all you have to do is to attend,it’s just a four-day trip and it will be fun, so come”Beatrice begged
“I will talk to you later Beatrice”I said as I caught the call.
Did Max pay for the trip, I had asked him not to do it.
Now more than ever I have to distance myself from him and if I were to go on a school trip with him then we will be close and I don’t want that,I have to do all I can to avoid him
“Andrea?”I turned when I heard Max call, he had a smile on his face but I knew that something was wrong.
I wanted to ask but I remembered what his mother said to me last night and I st©pped
“Did you pay for my trip “I asked as soon as he got to me
“I……….”
“I had asked you not to! I said I don’t want to owe anyone much less you”I said
“You won’t be owing me because I didn’t pay for the trip”
“Then who could have payed?”I asked
“My mom, she payed for it”He said
“But why would she?”I asked and just then the nurse c@m£ to me
“Your mom is awake Andrea and she wishes to see you”The nurse said
quic-kly I went to my mom ward and saw her sitting up alre-ady
“Mom!” I called as I went to hvg her tɨɢɦt,
“I thought I was never going to see you again” I said as I wipe the tears off my face
“How can I die when I haven’t put you throu-gh college yet” She said no
“Oh mom, you should st©p working ha-rd for my school fees, I can just leave Jupiter high and attend a lower school, that would save us some money” I said
“No, you will keep on going to Jupiter high and i will keep on working, that is why am your mom”She said softly
“Okay Mom”I said softly and just then the door opened and Max walked in.

ANDREA POV
“Isn’t that the young master?” She asked as Max walked into the ward
“Yes it’s me” Max said as he c@m£ to stand beside me
“How are you feeling Ma’am? We were worried about you “Max said
“Am doing good, thank you for coming to check on me and thank you for being with my daughter ” she said as she took his ɦaռɖ.
“Andrea would have done the same for me,so it’s not some thing to be grateful of” he said
“Mom I think you should rest now, you nee-d to get your strength back”I said
“Before that I would like to ask for your permission “Max said
“Permission for what?”
“The school is having a school trip and Andrea doesn’t want to go, would you plea-se grant her the permission to come with us” he asked ɦɛʀ,
“Mom plea-se don’t pay attention to Max, the school trip is not important and I prefer to stay here with you”I replied quic-kly
“But this will be the first school trip you աɨʟʟ attend to and so you have to go”she said
“But mom, you are sick and………..”
“Have seen to it that the nurses watch over her, you can be rest as-sured Andrea, just say yes” Max said cutting me off
“Just go on this school trip, it will be the best for you , you will get to learn more and know more places”My mom said
“And besides the young master will be with you”she added
That is what am trying to avoid, I don’t want to be any where close to Max.
If I should go on this trip, I will be close to him and I don’t want that.
“Come with me”I pu-ll-ed Max out of the room
“You shouldn’t have done that Max ”
“When you refused to come on this trip “He replied
“If I decide not to come it’s none of your business “I said
“But I want to make it my business”he replied
“Look Max I……..”I couldn’t finish my word because he hvgged me.
“I want you at this school trip, I want to tell you something and i can only do it there”He whispered into my ear
“Why can’t you tell me now” I said enjoying the comfort of being in his arms
“Cause it’s not something I can say now,You have to be at the trip, you really have to”He said as he let me go.
“I will only be there because I want to know what you want to tell me, I look forward to it”i replied and he gave me a smile in return.
“Go back to your mom, I will be off now “he said as he waved me off.
I can be close to him at the trip right, there won’t be any one watching out for his mom, this will be the last time I get close to him ,after the trip, I will keep my distance, I thought sadly.
THE DAY OF THE SCHOOL
TRIP
With my bag packed, I left the maid room and head to the kitchen to take a jui-ce with me.

I kept thinking about what Max have to say to me, he has got me feeling so curious.
I look forward to this trip so I can get to know what he has to tell me.
I had taken two bottles and was heading back when the kitchen door opened to reveal Max mom.
I bowed in greeting and she nodded gently as she went to pour herself a glas-s of water.
“You are going for the school trip right?”She asked and I nodded
“I doubt if Max have told you yet” she began slowly
“But he has gotten back with Rose, they haven’t told anyone yet, am the only that knows and I will prefer that you keep it a secret”She said
“Max have gotten back with Rose?”I asked
“Yes he has, I only asked him to be civil towards her but yesterday he c@m£ to me, saying the both of them are finally back together, isn’t that a great news”she asked
“Yy….yes it is” I answered softly
“Help me keep an eye on them and upd@t£ on what they are doing okay,I want to know how far they have gone in their renuion and probably when Max clocks 19, they will be engaged”she said
She had no idea how her words hurt but I hid it perfectly, I didn’t let my emotion show and i won’t let it show.
“I will upd@t£ you Ma’am, I will take my leave now”I said and left the kitchen in a hurry.
Is this what he wanted to tell me? That he has gotten back with Rose, well he should have told me right then and there, I would never have agreed to go on this trip.
The trip to school was like torture for me, I don’t think I will be able to with stand seeing Max and Rose together.
I stood in front of the school entrance, wondering if I should go in or not but I couldn’t get to decide because Jack c@m£ behind me and pu-ll-ed my bag from my arm
“Hey!”
“You are having second thought on this trip, let me help you decide, oh! I think I have alre-ady done that and that is you will be coming with us”He said and began to walk in with my bag.
“Jack get back here”I called as I ran to him but he had made it to the others who were standing by the bus.
“You are finally here Andrea!”Beatrice said as she pu-ll-ed me to her
“She was having second thoughts and so I stole her bag and having no choice she had to come” Jack said feeling proud with what he did
“You did great Jack”Brenda said giving him a high five
“I really don’t want to go”I said
“But you have to and now that you here, we won’t let you leave”Beatrice said holding me more ti-ghtly
“Isn’t that Max”Brenda said and we all turned to see Max coming with Rose.
“Are they d@t!ngfor real”
“Of course they are”
“Why would they be coming in together if they are not d@t!ng” the students murmured amongst themselves
Seems like it’s the truth, I thought as I also stared at them.
Max is d@t!ngRose again, that is the thing he has to tell me, I thought sadly
As if he s-en-sed me watching him, he looked my way, for a brief moment I thought he was going to come to me but I must have thought wrong.
“Why don’t we get into the bus first” Jack said and before I could say a thing, he pu-ll-ed me into the bus while the other students followed.

I sat in the bus starring at the scenery, I could hear the students talking and many times beatrice and Brenda have tried to get me to talk but I wasn’t in the mood to talk.
“Am re-ady to put my money in it, Max and Rose are d@t!ng” some students began to talk behind us
“Well I think so too, Why would they have come together and to t©p it all, they are even sitting together”
I found myself starring at Max and Rose who sat at the front.
“Am glad that he ended up with Rose though have often wished for him to be mine”they kept on talking
“Will you two st©p talking, people are trying to have some peaceful time here”Jack said and they went silent for a while but then they began to talk about Jack and I
“Are you planning on having that peaceful time with Andrea”One of them asked loudly getting the attention of the other students
“You two are also sitting together, why don’t you admit now that you two are d@t!ngtoo”
“It’s nothing like that?”I replied quic-kly
“St©p denying it, you and Jack are both d@t!ng”they kept on persisting.
I found myself looking at Max and I saw him looking at me and just then Jack wore me his head set.
“Don’t listen to them, listen to this instead “he said to me and pla-yed a music.
It took us a while before we got to the camp and I got out of the bus along with Beatrice and Brenda only to find Max waiting for me
“Andrea we have to talk”he said softly
“I dont think we have any thing to talk about, Beatrice! Brenda! Wait for me”I said as I quic-kly ran towards them.
Avoiding him will ɮɛ the best thing , I thought as I got to them.
