ANDREA POV
“I brou-ght Max to eat with us”I said as they all stared at us
“That’s fine, just sit down and let’s start eating,am really hungry?”Brenda said
quic-kly I pu-ll-ed Max and made him sit down beside Rose
“Aren’t you going to sit?”he asked
“I will share with Beatrice and Brenda”I said as I sat down beside the girls
Soon we were all munching on our food, I stared at Rose and Max and saw that they looked good sitting together.
They were both rich, good looking and am sure that they will make the perfect couple, I thought sadly
Where would that leave you , you are always after other people’s happiness but you are never after yours, something in me said.
“Eat!”Jack hitting my plate with spoon brou-ght me back to reality
“Of course I am eating,”I said as I took two to three bite.
“Are you two just here to gaze at your food, why don’t you eat?”Geoffrey who had joined us without our approval said to Max and Rose
“They are probably feeling too big to eat with us”Beatrice said staring at Rose
I hit her gently and said to the two of them “You guys should eat, lunch will be over soon”I said
“Maybe they are probably saving it for later,”Brenda added.
I look at Max and saw that his expression had changed, just what made him angry, I thought
“Or maybe they are back to d@t!ngeach other, it wouldn’t be a surprise to me “Jack said
“What!!!! You two are d@t!ng?”Geoffrey said
“No we are not”Rose said
“Of course you are, I should have known when I saw you two sitting together, this will certainly put the school in……………”Geoffrey couldn’t finish his word because Max pushed back his seat and got up
“Have just lost my appetite”he said staring at me and then he walked off.
“What was that? He looked so scary”Brenda said
“Are they not d@t!ng? Did I jump to conclusions?” Geoffrey asked.
quic-kly I excused myself and went after Max.
He didn’t head back to clas-s but instead he went to the field, heading for the school pri-vate room
I caught up with him when he got to the door, I pu-ll-ed his hand only for him to pu-ll free.
“You did that on purpose right?”he asked
“What ?”I asked a bit confused
“I should have guessed that they must be a reason why you asked me to go for lunch but I never guessed that it would be because of Rose”he said looking very angry
“Max I can explain!”I said
“Explain what? Don’t tell me that my mom s£nt you to do this ?”He asked and when I didn’t answer he hit the wall angrily
“Max!!!”i yelled and took his injured hand to stare at it
“So you did this because mom asked you to! I thought that for once have met someone who really un-derstands me, who knows how I feel, who relates with me but it turned out that I was wrong”He said as he pu-ll-ed his hand away

“You’ve really disappointed me today Andrea”He said as he walked off.
I stood there watching him go and I felt a piece of me going with him.
What have I just done! I thought sadly.
MAX POV
I took a de-ep breath before going back into clas-s.
Ever since what Andrea did,I didn’t go back to clas-s,Instead I went to the infirmary and stayed there until it closing period
I waited a while,hoping that when I got back to clas-s, I won’t have to see her or anyone else but I was Wrong because the students were still there and Andrea too.
Pretending not to see her, I went to my bag and pack up my things and then I turned to leave only to see her behind me
“Max we have to talk”She said
“I don’t feel like Talking to you”I said as I walked past her
“plea-se Max, I don’t want you to still be angry with me”she said as she followed me to the hallway
I still didn’t answer her and I kept on walking off
“Max I…….oooooow!!!!” She said suddenly and I turned only to see her on the floor.
I was about to go to her when I heard Beatrice and Brenda calling her.
“Are you okay?”they both asked as they crouched beside her on the floor,she nodded and stared at me
“There you go again, you are being mean again”Beatrice said and just then Jack walked into the scene
He looked at Andrea and then at me,I looked away from him
“Since her friends are here, I will be going”I said
“Max wait…….”She called again
“We have nothing to talk about Andrea”I said and walked off.
All throu-gh the way home, I kept on thinking about my reaction.
Was I too ha-rd on her? Why shouldn’t I be, she is the one doing the things that my mom asks of her, how can she try to set me up with Rose, doesn’t she even feel something for me, I thought as I opened the car gate.
I was about driving in when Jack stood in my path
I honked thrice for him to leave but he wouldn’t move. Angrily I got out of the car.
“What’s this?”I asked
“You must be feeling happy right?”
“What are you talking about”
“After what you did to your brother you must be feeling happy ,you darn murderer”Jack said
“If you are going to rain insults at me, just leave”I said
“This is not insults,it’s the truth and we both know it, if only you just forgiven him, if only you had picked up my call,if only you had gone to him when I called you, he wouldn’t have died”he said
“He had called and when you didn’t pick,he called me and told me what his plans were, I tried to call you but you ignored my call just like you ignored his”
“Why are you suddenly bringing this issue up?”I asked , feeling hurt by his words.
“Am wondering why a murderer like you thinks he can be happy, most especially with a girl like Andrea”He said
“I don’t think she knows what kind of guy you are, am sure that if she does,She will certainly hate you”he added
“I know I have a p@rt to be blamed for in Nick’s death because i told you where to find Rose lover but you pla-yed a hvge p@rt in it and that makes you his killer”
“When next you approach Andrea, I hope you remember that “He said and walked off.
ANDREA POV
I got back a bit late and that was Because I missed my bus.
I went straight to change into my house wear and then I went in search of Max.
This is all my fault and I have to apologise to him.
I went to his room with the excuse of giving him some refreshments but he wasn’t there.
I took a quic-k peek at his brother room and still the same thing
I looked all over the house and he was nowhere to be found.
I went back to the kitchen only to see my mom and the other maids cooking a lot of food
“What’s happening mom,why is there a lot of food?”I asked
“Well tomorrow is the young master death anniversary and we were asked to cook because there will be some guest here tomorrow” My mom said
Nick’s death anniversary is tomorrow, I know where Max will be.
quic-kly I went to the garden and if he is not here, I will go to the graveyard,I thought as I turned to leave only for me to hear his voice.
I walked past a fruit tree and I saw him on the floor crying
Just seeing him sad made me sad too, I thought
“Max!”I called softly
He st©pped crying and stared at me and then he looked away
“Go away Andrea”he said
“But I…….”
“Just go away !!!!”he yelled again
“Max”I called feeling reluctant to leave
“I said leave”he yelled for the very last time and I left the garden but I didn’t go far
I waited somewhere he wouldn’t see me so I could watch out for him and I was sure that when he st©pped crying,he would want to talk to someone.
I stayed there for a long time and then he walked out, when he saw me he looked away and kept on going.
quic-kly I went to him and hold his hand only for him to pu-ll away again
“What p@rt of leave me alone don’t you un-derstand?”he asked
“I can’t possibly leave you alone, you are in pain and nee-d someone to comfort you “I said
“And you think you can comfort me?”he asked mockingly
“Max,talk to me,I might be of help,after all we are close friends”I said
“Close friends! Do you think you and I are close friends?”he asked
“If we aren’t close friends then what are we?”i asked
“Don’t get me wrong here, you and I aren’t close,not even as friends”he said
“What are you saying Max?”I asked
“You and I aren’t close and I don’t consider you as a friend, the only thing I feel for you Is nothing but annoyance”
“You have been annoying me by being weak and a total loser, just so you wouldn’t be bullied you lied and each time you get caught, she get scared and hide, that alone made me sick, if I had kept your secret it was for the sake of your mother, I know that she wouldn’t have anywhere to go or any rich school to enrol you in”
“Max”I called feeling hurt by his words
“Get it into your head Andrea, to me you are nothing but annoying and a loser and so have had it with you, Let’s keep our distance from now on” He said and walked off.
I stood there still feeling hurt by what he said and as his words kept coming back to me, I found myself crying ha-rd .

Episode 34
ANDREA POV
For the first time in a while, I woke up feeling very sad.
I took my bathe and prepared myself for school
The house was so busy with the memorial service of Nick’s brother.
I walked out of the house only to see Max outside the house.
He was speaking on the phone all dressed up for school but when he saw me he paused and stared at me.
“So let’s keep our distance from now on” remembering his words, I looked away and walked down the street.
I was still walking off when his car pas-sed me,it took me a whole will of power not to look at it.
I got to school still feeling sad,I tried to cheer myself up by muttering to myself
“It’s okay Andrea, you can live with it, you must keep your distance from him, you were okay without him in your life, you will okay,you can do it”I said softly
“What do you keep on muttering to yourself?”Jack asked as he c@m£ to stand beside me
“Why do you like to sneak up on me?”I asked as I gave him an angry glare.
“Am sorry then,I didn’t mean to do that!”he said
“Just go away”I said as I walked off with him still following me.
Clas-s today went great and though I tried to be happy,I couldn’t be and am glad that no one noticed my sad mood.
“I heard it was the memorial service of Max brother, why don’t we go and say hello”Beatrice said
“That will be a good idea, though Max is an ingrate, we should go and say hello, at a time we all knew Nick”Brenda added .
I looked at Max who was sitting at the front doing his stuff as usual.
Just then I saw Rose walk up to him and she said something to him, smiling and laughing at him and in return he gave her a white envelope and stood up.
“So what do you say, should we all go for the visit?”Beatrice asked
“Count me out”Jack said and put his head on his desk
“And me too”I replied and unknown to me, Max who was walking off st©pped after hearing what I said
“But why? You and Max are more close”Beatrice asked
“I have things to do,very important things”I said and saw Max leaving the clas-s without looking back.

As I waited for the bus to take me home, I remembered that Beatrice and the rest were going to Max house and wanting to buy time for themselves. I tried to think of somewhere to go and just then an idea popped into my head.
The bus st©pped me right at the cemetery and with my flowers in hand,I went to the familiar grave of Nick.
“Hello”I said as I knelt to put the flower on his grave
“Have you been doing well?”I asked gently c@r£ss!ngthe grave
“And have been doing well too, your brother too, though he tries to hide it, he still hurt by your death but you should try to comfort him a little, your comfort is what he nee-ds right now!”I said gently
“I can’t give him that because we are no longer friends and I don’t think we will ever be again, this might even be the last time I come here, so try to look at me well enough before I leave”I said
“I don’t know what went wrong or what caused you to die but I know that you are in a better place and it will only be fair if you watch over your brother and give him the peace he nee-ds, I beg you Nick, let Max be happy once again”I said as I stood up
“You might be wondering what I am to him to come ask you for this but you don’t have to know,the only thing I can say is that am someone who cares, goodbye Nick”I said and turned only to see Max behind me watching me
From the way he was standing I felt that he had been listening to all my conversation.
Without saying anything to him, I walked past him and headed out of the cemetery.
Why had he chos£n to come now, I thought as I began to head off quic-kly.
I was still walking off when someone held my hand.
Thinking it was Max,I turned only to see a man looking all dirty and smelly
“Give me some money”he said staring at me
“I don’t have any money”I said softly, the money I had with me was my transport fare and i can’t afford to give it away,I thought
The man pushed me to the wall r0ûghly and moved his dirty face close to me
“Since you don’t have money, why don’t I take something else from you”he said as he put his hand un-der my Sk-irt
“Let me go!”I yelled trying to pu-ll away
“You look delicious, you will be mine for tonight”He said as he began to pu-ll me off
“Let me go, let me go”I kept yelling hoping that someone will come to my aid and someone did come
Max kicked the man and he fell right on the floor and didn’t even move..
“Come on, let’s get out of here”he said as he pu-ll-ed my hand and together we ran off.
It wasn’t until we were at a distance that I noticed our linked hands.
quic-kly I pu-ll-ed away from him and began to walk off
“Andrea? Andrea?”He called and when I didn’t answer he c@m£ to pu-ll me by my hand
I pu-ll-ed my hand off his for the second time and stared at him
“Are you okay?”
“Why do you ask? Is it in order to tell me how I annoy you ?”I asked
“Andrea I………”
“You said I was a loser,you said I annoy you ,then what are you doing with a loser and someone that annoys you?”I asked as the tears have been holding kept spilling out
“For a while I thought that I have finally met someone who un-derstands me, who knows how I feel, who is a best p@rt of me but it turns out that I was wrong, I was never a thing to him” I said as I kept on crying
He walked towards me trying to hvg me but I pushed him away
“No more Max, just as you have said, let’s keep our distance, just as I am nob©dy to you,you are nob©dy to me too”I said as I walked off angrily.
I got to the bus station and waited for the bus to arrive and when it did arrive,I was so lost in thought that if a lady hadn’t tap me,I would have missed the bus.
MAX POV
As soon as I saw her walk in ,I hid myself so she wouldn’t see me and it seemed like she didn’t even notice me at all.
Because she was looking so sad that she ha-rd ly noticed me.
Did I cause that? Was my words too harsh for her cope with,I thought
“You said I was a loser,you said I annoy you ,then what are you doing with a loser and someone that annoys you?”
Yes my words had definitely hurt her,I thought as I kept on watching her.
I didn’t mean any of it ,I was just so furious at what Jack said and furious with myself too.
She had come at a bad time and I had lashed out at her before I realised what I was doing.
I wanted to apologise to her, that was why I waited for her this morning by the gate but the look she gave me made me lose courage to do so.
I didn’t want to p@rticipate in the luxurious memorial service given to Nick by my mother so I went to his grave yard and I didn’t expect to see Andrea there.
Seeing her there only made me worry about how I treated her last night.
The bus st©pped and I waited for her to get down.
She kept on going while I followed her from behind.
We got to the estate that will take us to the house when suddenly Jack stood in front of her
I quic-kly hid behind a tree staring at the two of them.
I felt so angry and jealous that I wanted to go to them but I held back and stayed hidden in the Shadows.
