ANDREA POV
I walked all the way from the bus station to the estate that led to Max house.
I was about to get in when Jack walked out startling me.
“Andrea? Why are you here? You said you weren’t going to come”He asked
At first i was lost for words but I quic-kly thought of some thing
“I changed my mind, what about you? Why are you here?”I asked
“Well I changed my mind too, Nick was a close friend of mine and it wouldn’t be right If I didn’t show up because of the rift between Max and I”He said.
“What are you two even quarreling about?”i asked
“Some thing that has nothing to do with you”He said as ruffled my hair.
“St©p it”I said pushing his hand away.
“Are you heading home now?”He asked
“Yes ,I am”I replied
“Instead of going home,why don’t we do some thing else” he said giving me a smile
“What do you …………wait Jack, where are you taking me to?”I asked as I was pu-ll-ed off
We got to a game sto-re in town and he pu-ll-ed me in.
“Why are we here?”I asked.
“To have fun, you have been looking a bit down this morning and you are not saying no,Common”he said as he pu-ll-ed me in.
Having no option, we pla-yed all the games and I wouldn’t deny that I had a lot of fun.
We ended the day by visiting a chicken restaurant,We ate so much that I feel that if am not careful, I might bur-st.
“Thank you”i said as he walked me to the villa
“For what?”
“For ma-king me feel good, you were the only one who noticed that I was feeling a bit sad today, that’s so thoughtful of you, thanks Jack”I said
“I don’t want your thanks Andrea”he said suddenly and I st©pped to stare at him
“What do you want then?”
“Treat me out some other time,it’s only right that you pay for what I did for you today”
“I should have known, you will never do something for free?”I said as punched him lightly.
“My Car is parked just down there, I would have love to take you home but I still have some where to go?”he said
“Don’t worry,I can go home by myself, thanks for today,bye”I said feeling relieved that he didn’t offer to take me home.
As soon as his car was gone, I took the route back to Max house
It was quiet when I got back, seems like the memorial service has end, I thought as I head for the maid quaters.
I was pas-sing throu-gh the garden when I heard Max voice
“Would it really take someone this long to get back from a grave yard?”He asked
I turned to look at him, he was sitting on the chair
“Where did you go to?” He asked as he walked towards me
“And how does that matter to you?”I asked
“Andrea I……….”
“We are not friends or any thing else , am just a worker in your house and as you have said that we should keep our distance, I hope you keep to your word”I said turning to leave only to pu-ll-ed back by him
“Andrea I…….”
Still feeling hurt by what he said to me I pu-ll-ed away from him
“St©p it! Just st©p it okay ,you said I should stay away and that is what am doing, What more do you want?”I asked
“Andrea is that you?” my mom call st©pped him from replying
“Yes it’s me”I said as i went to her
“Good evening ” Max greeted as he c@m£ towards us
“Evening young master, why are you two here?” she asked
“I just ran into him mom, let’s go back in”I said as I walked her to our quaters, leaving Max standing there
THE NEXT DAY
MAX POV
“I can’t believe that she has gone, when did she even leave”I muttered to myself as I drove off to school alone.
I had woken up early just so I can speak to her before we head back to school.
I waited and waited for her and when she never showed up, I knew that she had left alre-ady.
I drove into the school premises and got out of the car.
I have made up my mind to tell her the whole story of Nick death and if her reaction turns out good then that will mean that she accept me but if it doesnt then………….i shouldn’t be thinking of that,I thought as I walked past some students who was gawking at me.
I went past some other students and saw them starring at me too
What’s going on, why is every one looking at me?
I know that am well popular amongst the girls but the look that they are giving me is quite different from the way they have always stared at me before.
“I can’t believe that he is taken again”A student muttered as she walked past me
“Hey Max! Hey Max, you really are some thing”Geoffrey said as he ran towards me to hvg me
“Get your hands off”I said
“Why? Aren’t we friends now?”he asked
“We aren’t”I said as I moved out of his reach.
“Well that aside, why didn’t you tell us?’He said
“Tell you what?”
“That you are d@t!ngRose again and that Andrea is d@t!ngJack”He said
“What ru-bbish are you saying?”I asked
“It’s not ru-bbish, it’s the latest trend in the school page”he said as he showed me a picture.
I took the phone from him and saw an old picture of myself with Rose and then a picture of Jack ruffling Andrea hair with the both of them smiling.
“Old relationsh!pis back on and a new relationsh!phas just started” the caption un-der it said
“Who on earth did this?”I asked
“What happen? Is it not true?”Geoffrey asked as he took his phone from me
I wasn’t bothered by the picture of Rose and I, I was worried about Andrea and Jack, could it be true.i thought as I head straight to clas-s.
ANDREA POV
“This is not true! How many times do I have to tell you this”I said to the students who gathered around Jack and i
“But you are even sitting together and the pictures would never lie” A student said
“Just come out clean with us alre-ady ,I also want to know if it’s true”Beatrice asked
“This is nerve wrecking”I muttered slowly and then I stared at Jack who was obviously enjoying this charade
“Say some thing will you! Tell them we are nothing to each other”I said hitting him
“What should I say? If they won’t believe you then why would they believe me and besides the pictures are not a lie “He said adding more problem to the situation.
“They are d@t!ng!!!!”the students said as they all began to talk at once
“What about you Rose! Are you and Max back together?”A student asked Rose who was busy with her stuff
“I think that is a matter that should be kept between me and Max”She said
“She is really d@t!nghim”they all said
“Look at her being arrogant about it!”Beatrice whispered for our ears only
I sat thinking about Max and Rose, when I first heard the news,I was more worried about Max and Rose than about my relationsh!pwith Jack.
I knew that the two of them would end up being with each other but some how I had wished for it not to be true.
“Hey guys Max is here!!!!”a student said as she ran into the clas-s.
I looked up to see him walk into the clas-s, he didn’t even spare me a glance.
He went to Rose and stood in front of her “we have to talk “He said
“About what? You can say it here”Rose replied.
“What we have to talk about is important”He said and without waiting for her reply, he pu-ll-ed her off
“It is true”the students muttered amongst themselves as we stared at them
Is he really d@t!ngRose? I thought sadly
“It’s enough guys,go back to your clas-s, whatever is going on between me and Andrea is none of your business” Jack said
“These two are d@t!ngtoo ” they muttered as they all left the clas-s
“Won’t you make an exception and tell us?”Beatrice asked
“There is really nothing going on between us”I said and left the clas-s too.

MAX POV
“Let go of me Max,I said let go” Rose said as she pu-ll-ed off her hand
“What’s that about?”I asked her.
“What are you talking about?”she questioned back.
“Those pictures, you did it right?”
“Look, I might still be In love with you, I might still want you but I wouldn’t resort to this sort of thing just to get you “she said
“I don’t believe you!”I said
“I didn’t do it okay! ,I didn’t put those pictures up online”she said
“If you say so then.”I said as I began to walk off only for her to pu-ll me back
“But don’t you think this is a sign” she asked
“Sign to what?”
“A sign that it’s time for us to get back, until when will you keep on tormenting me for what happened with Nick, have told you that we didn’t mean for it to happen, we…………..”
“Shut up Rose, just shut up”I said
“Not this time Max,I won’t shut up and I won’t stand aside, I won’t let you push me away again, I love you ,I made a mistake, why won’t you just forgive me”She said
“But I don’t love you , Whatever I felt for you a year ago is dead, I don’t love you neither do I want to get back with you”I said turning to leave only for her to hvg me from behind.
“I won’t let you go and you should know that the both of us belong together, if you keep on rejecting me ,you will have to accept me because we will both be married in the future”She said as she held me ti-ght.
What ever she was saying meant little to me, all I kept thinking of was Andrea.
She can’t possibly be in a relationsh!pwith Jack, she just can’t possibly be In a relationsh!p
“I love you Max,I still do, I wait for the day you will forgive me and learn to love me back”she said as she kept on holding me
“It will be best if you don’t possibly wait for me because I don’t think I can ever love you again”I said
“Why?”She asked
“I love some one else”i said expecting her hold on me to less£n but she didn’t let me go
“I won’t believe that, I won’t believe it ,you are just saying it to get back at me right? “She asked
“No am not, now plea-se let go?”i said looking up only to see Andrea starring at us
quic-kly I to-re her hand away and went to Andrea who had looked way,pretending to be going some where
“We have to talk”I said as I stood in her path
“I don’t have any thing to say to you”she said as she tried to walk past me
I blocked her path and tried to take her hand but she pu-ll-ed away
“Rose is waiting for you ,go to her ” she said again
“Are you really d@t!ngJack?”I asked
“What I do with my life have nothing to do with you, so plea-se refrain from asking that sort of question in the future”she said as she walked past me.
Why won’t she just forget what I said and forgive my rudeness,I thought as I stood watching her leave while Rose stood by the end watching the two of us.
JACK POV
I was heading to the men restroom when I almost collide with Rose.
Her face were all puffy and red, seems like she had been crying, I thought as I kept starring at her.
I moved past her and went into the male rest room to do my thing.
Rose chose her own path and if it’s causing her a whole lot of pain and anguish then that will be her fault,I thought as I thought of Andrea and smiled
I have better things think of, like when would i would make Andrea buy me the meal she owes me
The door opened and Rose barged in interrupting my thoughts.
She checked the toilet one after the other and when she found no one there ,she li-cked the outer door and c@m£ back to me
“Happy right?”she asked
“Happy about what?”
“Happy about the pictures and happy about getting your name linked with Andrea”She said
“Cut to the chase here, what do you want ” I asked
“I won’t waste my time by asking if you like Andrea or not, I can alre-ady tell that myself, Now all I want from you is to look for ways to get Andrea for yourself, I won’t be able to get back with Max if that girl is still in his life “She said
” Wow so much energy for some one who doesn’t even acknowledge it ” I said
“Just tell me if you are going to do It or not”She asked
“I don’t want to be involved with you “I said
“Why?why can’t you be involved with me?”She asked
“Because of past experience and I won’t do anything to get Andrea, She will come to me herself so save your deal for someone else”I said as I left the room.
ANDREA POV
“So, are we still going for our study session today?”Geoffrey asked
“Of course,it’s very important for every one of us”Beatrice replied
“Still at the same place and at the same time, no one must miss it ” Brenda said
I wasn’t listening to what they were saying because my mind was occu-pied with what I saw earlier
Could he be d@t!ngRose? They had been holding each other before I arrived and seeing them together got me feeling so sad and more angry.
“Max! Max are you going to go come for the study session group?” Beatrice asked
Even with out looking up at him, I knew he was looking at me
“If Andrea will be there then I will be there”he replied and went to his seat
Every one was looking at me and it was all due to the last thing he said
Couldn’t he have just said some thing else, I thought as I pretend to re-ad my book.

We got to the cafe and took our seats, I made sure I took a seat which is very far from Max
He didn’t try to make things worse by trying to talk to me.
He had started the STAY AWAY FROM EACH OTHER THING am just following it up for him,I thought as I asked Jack for help on a p@rticular math
Jack gave me his whole attention and taught me the things I didn’t un-derstand.
While I was solving an important equation,I looked up only to find Max starring at me
I looked away and then looked at him again and still he was starring at me
Why does he keep on starring at me? I thought as I put my focus on my book alone.
A while later,I excused myself and left for the rest room.
A lot of memories flooded back as I got into the rest room.
I had been taken her by those terrible guys, I thought as I found myself going outside instead of returning to our table.
I got to where the fight had taken place and I remembered the way Max had beat those goons and his hvg later on.
Back then I had thought that he cared for me but I was wrong.
He was only thinking of me as a loser then and am sure that he still thinks the same, I thought sadly
I turned to go back him only to find him behind me,watching me
“That scared me!!!! Why didn’t you tell me if your pres£nce”I said as I moved back
“Because I was sure that you will leave before I get to talk to you”He said
“Still on the talking issue, I told you that we don’t have any thing to say to each other”I said
“But I do, I do have a lot of things to say to you and I won’t let you leave until you listen to me”he said
“Why are you doing this Max, you started it yourself, you told me to stay away and that’s what am doing, what will you gain by being this way?”I asked
“I won’t gain any thing Andrea, all I nee-d from you is your listening ear”He said
“Fine then, tell me what you have to tell me “I said
“Andrea I………”he couldn’t get to tell me because my phone rang
It is my mom, I thought as I quic-kly picked it up
“Am I speaking to Andrea?”A voice asked
“Yes you are speaking to her”I replied
“Well I called to tell you that your mom coll@psed in the market earlier and have been taken to the hospital”The lady said
“What Hospital?”I asked
“The Saint Luke”the stranger replied
“I will be there soon”I said as I switched off the phone..
“What happen?”Max asked
“It’s mom, she coll@psed in the market earlier and she has been taken to the hospital”I said nervously
“I have to go to her Max,I have to be with her”I said nervously
“Okay then, let’s go back and collect your things and then we will leave”He said as he took my things.
A while later we left the cafeteria and went straight to the hospital
As soon as we got in, I went to the nurses table and they gave me the information. I nee-ded
I found out from the doctor that she was in a very bad state
I sat on the chair crying ,feeling so alone and just then I felt some one arm wra-p around me and I was relieved to see that it was Max.
With out waiting for him to do it, I hvgged him ti-ghtly.
