CHAPTER 50
SEMIFINAL.
“Ivy?” Mercury called in surprise on opening the door.
“Why are you here?”
“May I come in first or we would just stand here and talk” Ivy said rather curtly
“Oh…sure come in” Mercury make way for her and she cat walked in taking her sit.
“Want anything?”
“I’m okay…it’s fine” she replied and Mercury took a sit opposite her.
“I’ve been to your office”
“I came home early”
“Don’t you think you’re slacking off when you just started? Business isn’t like that you’ll lose a lot…well I guess you’ve been used to doing whatever you like since you were once a model…you only take pictures”
“Modelling isn’t just about taking pictures I’m sure you know that miss Ivy…what are you doing here by the way?”
“You’re scarce recently…I was wondering maybe something happened”
“So you came to check up on me…that’s…strange”
“Stop what you’re doing”
“What am I doing?”
“I didn’t give up on him just to see him get hurt like this…I wanted him to be happy but now I’m starting to regret ever doing that…Miss MJ I don’t know what’s between you two but don’t you think it’s time to stop now…if you continue acting like this then I’d be left with no choice but to step in and I’m sure you wouldn’t like that. Even though I don’t care about what you think but I’m just giving you a chance…a chance to make things right…or else…I can’t promise you all will be well”
*what the fuck are you talking about right now?”
“It’s left to you if you don’t figure it out” she stood up.
“A word is enough for the wise and I’m sure you aren’t that stupid not to grab what I’m talking about and if you still don’t know…then there’s nothing I can do”
“Miss Ivy I think I kinda get what you’re saying…don’t worry I’ll get everything under control…I wouldn’t want you hurting your precious heart trying to get what isn’t yours….you can rest assured” Mercury smiles and Ivy stifles a laugh.
“I’m glad you cared for me…save me the troubles then Miss MJ”
AT THE CLUB.
Danny drained down a glass of liquor pouring another.
“Cmon now honey stop drinking already and play with us” a lady who sat at his right side said rubbing his chest.
“Yeah babe…you’re looking dull today and it’s unlike you” another lady by his left said trailing kisses all over his neck.
Danny ignored them and continue drinking.
“Alright if you don’t play with us then we will…” They squeal giggling.
Danny mind wandered off to when he saw Candy at Mercury’s office.
“Ohhh babe you changed your hairstyle…I kinda like the former one” one of the ladies said.
“No this looks better….it’s hot…he looks like a model…as expected my honey is a born killer…” The other lady brought her hand up to touch his hair but Danny was quick to grab her wrist.
“You won’t wanna do that…” He glared.
“Oh…come on babe…I love it are you saying I can’t touch my Honey’s hair uh…” She asked playfully.
“Yeah…you can’t…only my wife is allowed to do that”
“Babe…when did you get married?”the second lady asked surprised but Danny continue glaring at the first one with his grip on her tightening.
“Al…right…let me…goo…it’s hu…rts…” She wiggled her wrist out of his grip.
“When you’re back to normal you know where to call me” she stood up angrily and left.
“Babe…” The other lady called and Danny shot her a death glare.
“Get lost”
“Humph!” She huffed and marched away from him.
Danny rested his back comfortably on the couch and release a heavy breath closing his eyes.
MERCURY’S HOUSE.
“I believe I should be on my way now” Ivy said standing up.
“Yeah sure thanks by the way and sorry…for bothering you” Mercury replied and Ivy smiles.
“No problems” she opens the door and halt.
“Leo?” Mercury called surprised on seeing Leo on her doorstep probably about to knock.
“Hey Ura…hi Miss…Ivy” Leo greeted and Ivy smiles.
“Hello Mr Leo…it’s good to see you again.” She faced Mercury.
“Think about what I said I’ll get going now” Leo made way for her and she step out.
“Come in Leo…”
MINUTES LATER.
“I’m sorry!” The two said almost at the same time breaking the awkward silence between them.
They looked at themselves awkwardly then went silent again.
“I was mean to you!”
“I was bad to you!”
They said in unison again.
“You go first”
“You go first!” They said together again then chuckled.
After they shook off the chuckles the atmosphere became serious again.
“Ladies first” Leo said and Mercury smiles.
“I’m sorry Leo…I was was bad and unfair to you…you always loved and support me but I just….I hurt you in return…I’m sorry” she said looking smugly on her nose.
“Yeah…you should be sorry…you did hurt me…a lot…for the past seven years now…because you indeed broke my heart. But…you know…I’m more sorry because I also broke you while trying to satisfy my selfishness”
“Leo…”
“I knew clearly well you only loved me as a friend…but I disregard that fact and forced my love on you…I was thoughtless and selfish. I shouldn’t have done that. I hurt you a lot Mercury and I’ve deprived you of some things…I’m sorry I was being super unfair to you…I’mma jerk”
“I understand you Leo…I’m just sorry I couldn’t return the love you have for me…you’re such a cool guy…you’re a rare friend…and I cherish you a lot”
“I…really liked you a lot…I couldn’t imagine my life without you”
“I know…I know it all”
“But…that was selfish of me…I…I only didn’t hurt you…but him and many other people as well…just for my greed…I made them suffer for six years”
“I don’t blame you….I was happy with you and I….don’t regret ever being with you”

“I want you to be happy now Ura…for real.. Follow your heart don’t let this opportunity slip away…hold unto…him ”
“Leo…”
“You have to be happy now ura…you deserved to…”
Mercury stood up from her sit and went to him embracing him.
“Thank you…Leo…” She said softy while Leo only smiles.

Holding a Nylon filled with drinks inside, Candy walks towards her building but stopped when she spots Danny standing just right in front of the building.
Danny saw her also and advance to talk to her but she ignored him and went inside the building.
“Why would he come here…?” She grumbles to herself as she got inside brought out the drinks and start gulping them in.
“Who does he think he is…” She scoffs.
“He must have taken me for a fool…figures…i did me a fool of myself to him….” She continues drinking.
Minutes later she stood up from where she sat and walked towards the window peeping through to know if he’s still there.
“He must not have anything better to do…jerk!” She mumbles to herself as she look at him still standing outside the building.
She went back to her drink and started thinking.
Remembering what Mercury told her the other day at the office.
“How is that possible…?” She mutters to herself.
TWO HOURS LATER.
The weather changed and the cloud gathered in the sky. It has start to drizzle and Candy became a little worried.
“There’s no way he could still be there right?”
“So what if he is…I don’t care”
“I never asked him to wait out there”
“I hope the rain beat him to death”
“I hate him”
It starts to rain and Danny looks up to Candy’s apartment.
Looks like she’s really angry with him
Looks like she’s isn’t really coming out to him
Looks like he really fucked up.
“I’m sorry…I’m sorry Candy…” He mutters to himself looking down to his shoes.
“Your apology isn’t accepted…because I hate you now” he heard her voice and looks up just to see her standing a few metres away from him.
“Candy…?” His voice came out weak. He was already pale and seems like he has no strength in him left anymore.
“Danny…I hate you now…” She said in a breaking voice.
“I know…”
“Stop looking at me like that…?”
“How should I look at you then…? I can only look at you like this Candy…this is how….I can look at you” he gave her a weak smile.
Now Candy couldn’t held her emotions any longer as she ran to to him and jumb on him wrapping her legs around his waist.
Danny put his arms around her while Candy cried on his shoulder.
“What took you soo long…I waited….I waited for a long time…I waited for you Dan…”

Still in his arms, Danny carried Candy Inside the building.
“Passcode?” He asked her.
“Four 7” she replied still burying her head in his neck.
Danny opened the door and he carried her in.
Now Candy finally looked at him as he stood amidst the living room still carrying her.
“Why did you come?” She asked looking straight at him.
“To see you” he replied staring back their faces just few inches apart.
“Why…?” She asked leaning closer.
“Because…I wanted to see you” they could feel each other’s breathes now.
“Why…?” She asked resting her forehead on his her voice almost inaudible.
“Because…I keep wanting to see you” he whispers their lips brushing each other’s silently.
“And…I keep…missing you…Candy” he completed grabbing her face then taking her lips in his.
It was slow and sweet.
They both take their time savoring each other’s taste.
Seconds later they locked with Candy blinking her eyes repeatedly.
“Your face is red…look at me Candy” Danny said softly and she looks at him.
“I’m not done yet” he said and immediately locked lips with her again. This time it was fast and rough.
Her grip on him tightened and she wrapped her legs more tightly around his torso.
Her heart was hammering hard in her ribcage and she kept her eyes tightly shut enjoying the kiss which she was not ready to stop.
She doesn’t care if she hadn’t brushed her teeth.
She doesn’t care if she stinks for not having her bath that day.
She doesn’t care if she hadn’t washed her itchy hair.
All she cares about is this guy holding her.
All she knows is that this time she’s certainly not letting go of him for any goddamn reason.
Because she has always wanted this and she isn’t ready to back off.
Danny bump into some things as they kiss making their way to her bedroom.
He lays her down gently on the bed still not unlocking and they continue kissing for a while until Danny moves his lips to her face trailing kisses all over it to her neck.
After trailing kisses all over her neck for a while, he finally rested his head in her neck and it remained there for a while.
“Danny…?” Candy called but got no response.
“Dan…are you okay?” She called again
“Don’t tell me you’re…hey…hey you fucking cunt!” She pushed him off her.
“This jerk seriously…I ought to…how could he fall asleep like that? On me?!” She looks at him and saw him sleeping soundly.
She sighs and leans closer to him. She brought her hand to his face tracing his face.
“Why did I take so long to realize this…? I think…you’re the one…the one I choose…you’re the one my hear beats for…Danny…” She whispers slowly rubbing her face slowly.
Suddenly he grab her hand and made her lie beside him.
Candy looks at him and his eyes were still shut.
She smiles and gave him a peck on the lips before cuddling him to herself.
CLARK’S HOUSE.
Mercury entered the house which was dark and silent.
“Is he not at home…?” She thought within.
She turned on the light and made her way to his room.
She opens his door silently and saw him on the bed.
After staring for a while, she went in and lay on the bed behind him wrapping her arms around him without saying anything.
They sleep.
THE NEXT MORNING.
Mercury was taking her bath when the door suddenly flung open and Clark stepped in with only towel wrapped around his waist.
Mercury’s eyes widened and she flung her arms around her immediately covering herself.
“What the fudge do you think you’re doing Clark!…I’m bathing!”
“I should be asking you that…why the hell are you in my bathroom bathing Mercury?” He gave her a questioning look.
“Cause I needed to bath!…now get out!”
“Why would I get out when this is my bathroom and I need to have my bath and I’m here…to do just that”
“But can’t you see I’m having mine…you could have just waited till I was done”
“Well I never knew I’d met someone in here it’s kinda surprising…and shocking” he folded his arms and Mercury realized he’s not ready to leave.
“I’m clearly sure when I went to bed yesterday I was alone and my door was locked…now I wonder how and when you snuck in to have your bath in my bathroom” he said while Mercury rolled her eyes.
“Glad to see you just realized someone snuck into your house when we slept on the same bed till this morning”
“We did? Wow…you’re really something…not only are you robbing me of my bathroom but you also robbed me of my bed and my body?” He said dramatically and Mercury scoffs.
“You’re insane”
Clark smirk and removed the towel around his waist leaving him unclad.
Mercury stood in bewilderment.
“What are you doing?” Mercury asked as he started stepping closer to her.
“I was on my own planet girl…this…is all your doings…know that”
“Get lost”
He moves closer to her and grab her.
“Remember you started this…planet girl” He smirks and before she could say anything, he captured her lips in his giving her no chance to resist.
