CARLY’S APARTMENT.
“Are you holding a grudge against me?” Mercury asked Ivy who wouldn’t stop picking at Mercury at every chance she got.
“Of course not miss MJ…why would I do such a thing? Did you do anything to earn my grudge…maybe you’re just feeling guilty of something cause I don’t see any reason why you would think such…I have nothing against you” she smiles.
“Again…again…she’s doing it again…ugh this is really driving me crazy”
“Cool down V…you’re getting drunk”
“I’m not drunk Carl…you know I’m tired of her being like this everytime…if she has something to say she can just say it to myself instead of acting like a snake” Mercury snapped.
“V”
“I think you’re the one holding a grudge here…I’m displeased with what you just said Miss MJ”
“Miss MJ Miss MJ ugh! Stop calling me that seriously…it makes me wanna puke!”
“Why would your own name wanna make you puke? If you didn’t liked it you shouldn’t have have it as your name” she drinks
“Not that I hate the name…I just feel like shit anytime it comes out from your mouth like that…I can feel the killing vibes”

Ivy scoffs.
“You two should stop…you’re both drunk”
“No Carl…in fact we have to talk this out tonight…I’m glad you organized this freaking sleepover…it’s bringing out the freak in me”
“Glad to know a model can be a freak too” Ivy mutters but Mercury heard.
“Be more glad cause I’m gonna show you part of it tonight” she gritted.
” I think she needs to rest…she doesn’t seem okay”
“You…what’s your deal? What exactly do you want?”
“And what do you think I want? See Carl I’m glad you plan this so called sleep over cause I think it’s just the perfect thing I needed to solve this shit”
“Yeah…this freaky shit” Mercury glared at her.
Carly just sighs and move away silently from her.
It’s seems they both want this.
Candy doesn’t even notice what was happening around her as she was engrossed in her phone.
“Ah I forgot to tell you guys something…actually Clark and I are going out” Mercury said and candy snapped her head up where she sat.
“She’s crazy” she mutters.
“I actually wanted to thank you Miss Ivy…for taking care of my boyfriend all this years I wasn’t around…now that I’m back you can do your thing while we do ours” she smiles.
“Never knew you were this shameless and cheap no offense miss MJ just tryna be honest but you sucks…after getting engaged with Leo now you want Clark back” she scoffs.
“Say the truth…I bet you’ve dated a tons of guys over there right? That’s probably why it’s easy for you to jump from one guys to another”
“Whatever I do there is just a story of my fucking life and none of your fucking business”
“Stay away from Clark”

Ivy moves closer to her and push her.
She staggers backwards.
“Hey..I won’t support you guys getting violent” Carly tried to stop them but before she could mercury pushed Ivy.
She lost her balance and hit her butt on the floor.
Carly hit her forehead.
“Ivy are you okay?” She asked getting close to her only to find her crying.
“Hey Ivy…?”
“I was getting to it….just a matter of time then he would have been mine…why does she have to appear and stole everything away from me Carly? Do I really deserve this?” She cries and Mercury couldn’t move where she stood.
There she realized…how she had broken the poor lady’s heart.
She hurt her too after all.
Not only Leo…but also Ivy…she hurt them both.
Carly looks at her and shakes her head.
“Come on V…not you too”.
” I’m sorry Ivy…I…I was selfish I guess”
“Don’t apologize…you’re not gonna leave him anyway” she stood up and carried her bag.
“I’m sorry Carly but…I can’t stay over” she said.
Mercury and Carly watched her leaves.
Candy just sat there watching the show.
“Guess it’s over…nothing fun” she took her phone.
Mercury Sat down and pour herself a drink.
“Don’t take what she said to heart…you deserve to be with him V” Carly held her hand softly.
“But she’s hurt”
“Hey…remember if it’s not meant to be then it’s not…nobody can change fate. This is your fate…to be with him”
“You think so Carl”
“I don’t think so…it is just so”
CLARK’S HOUSE.
“I’m her Romeo…she loves me more….she literally can’t do without me I’m telling you…you don’t believe uh? Uh?” Kings took Olive who wouldn’t stop blabbering inside the room.
Clark and Danny are already asleep.
Kings is still very much awake since he didn’t drink much like others.
Clark slept off with his phone in his hand.
He contemplated on calling Mercury till he slept off.
Danny hugged the bottle of the wine to himself as he sleeps on the other sofa.
“Pick the damn phone already” he groans turning to the other side of the sofa.
When the phone wouldn’t stop ringing he stood and went to the table where it is.
The call ended before he could reach it.
“Joy? Who is joy?” He thought
Seconds later a message came in.

“Again?” Danny muttered.
A message pop in and it was a picture of Candy pouting her lips.
He heard some footsteps and quickly dropped the phone sleeping on the sofa hugging the bottle to himself.
Kings took his phone and Danny could hear him chuckles.
DAYS LATER.
Mercury was in a shoot when she received a call from her mother that her father has fainted again.
“How are you feeling now?” She asked placing her hand on his.
“I’m good my daughter”
“Daughter…we need to talk”
“What is it Dad?”
“Mars dear…you can see your father’s health is deteriorating…he can’t keep stressing himself…dear..you need to help us”
“What do you mean mom?”
“You need to continue from where he stopped…take over the company Mercury”
“What? Wait mom…that isn’t possible…I mean I can’t do that”
“You have to…you’re the only one e left…your siblings are already busy with one thing or the other and also…this is yours…you have to take over now”
“Mom stop…do you know what you’re telling me right now what about the work I’m doing?”
“We’ve always known you loved modeling that’s why we didn’t oppose it…but don’t you think it’s high time you faced the reality…you’ve had enough fun Mercury…now it’s time to work”
She scoffs.
“Are you saying I’ve been playing for the last three years I started this”
“That’s I’d just a hobby dear…you have to resume to work now”
“No mom…don’t tell me that! Dad…so you two have been planning this behind me? What do you think you’re doing? Playing with my life? I can’t do this mom…it’s doesn’t make any sense”
“You have no time Mercury…just accept it”
“My daughter…we know you have some passion for modeling that’s why we didn’t say anything and let you go into it…at least for some years…but now..it’s time to get serious…you’ve done enough”
“This is bullshit! I can’t believe this…I ain’t giving up on anything and I ain’t resuming to any work…don’t…try to say further…I’m not and I’m not that’s final” she took her bag and went out angrily.
CLARK’S HOUSE.
“Mercury” he was surprised to see her with her eyes wet.
“What’s wrong? Why are you crying?”
Mercury hug him and cries on his shoulder.
“What should I do Clark? It’s happening again…what should I do?”
SOME MINUTES LATER.
“That isn’t possible…you can’t do that…don’t they care about your feelings at all?”
“I’m so confused and scared…I really don’t want this to happen” she shakes her head.
“Mercury…you have to be firm…you can’t let them lush you over just like they did when you were younger…this is your life even if they’re your parents thy have no right to make decisions for you”
“But…they’re dumping the responsibility on me…I’m just tired Clark…I feel so helpless..why are they doing this to me?”
“Can you afford to give up your dream?” He asked D and she shakes her head in disapproval.
“Then don’t listen to them”.
” what about my father then? The company…I…something needs to be done ”
Clark hugs her.
“It’s time you make decision for yourself…it’s time you stand up for yourself and make them stop controlling your life. It’s yours live…don’t do something you’re gonna regret later”
“This is so hard…I don’t like it”
“Remember I’m always here with you…and I’m ready to fight this with you”
THE OPENING DAY.
“Danny” Candy grins waving at him as he made his way to them.
“Hey guys” he smiled at them.
“Have you seen Carly?”
“Yeah just now” he faced Candy who wouldn’t stop grinning at him.
Danny turn her face to Kings and she chuckles looking at him also.
“Over here” Danny called the waiter and collected a drink from him.
“Where is Leo?” He asked.
“He has been trying to avoid me lately…?” Mercury replied and Danny nodded.
“I understand him”
“Just give him some time” Kings said and she nodded.
“Hey guys…hey Mercury” Olive greeted and hugs Mercury.
“Congrats Olive”
“I believe you should be saying that to me” Carly said approaching them with Clark.
“Carl…wow you’re looking amazing tonight” Danny said hugging her.
“You look_”
“Handsome” Candy interrupted.
“And he looks cute and cool as usual” she said again pointing to Kings.
“Stop embarrassing me already” Mercury said to candy and Carly chuckles.
“She’s right after all…?”
“Congratulations Carl…” Mercury hugs her.
“Thanks…and thank you for honouring my invitation”
“Come on..that’s a must”
“Clark…where’s Ivy?” Kings asked
“She’s around…talking with some investors” he replied.
“By the way how’s the new project going? ”
“So far so good…no probs”
“That’s good…your grandpa Will be glad” Kings smiles and Clark nodded.
“Okay…you guys will have to enjoy the party without us…we’ve got to take care of some things” Carly said.
“Oh…that’s fine…you can…?”
“See you guys later…” She smiles at them and leaves with Olive.
“Aww…they look sweet together…?” Candy cooled.
“Yeah they do…?” Danny nodded.
“You guys excuse me…I have to take care of some things” Clark said signalling to Mercury before leaving.
“You can go too…go solve it out” Danny said and she nodded before leaving also.
“Wow…we’re the ones left…how awesome” candy claps while Danny just gulped his wine.
“Right by the way Kings…guess who I saw at the club yesterday?” Danny asked
“The sluts” kings answered simply
“That’s a given.” He chuckles and candy slap his shoulder
“What!” He arched his brows.
Candy just drink.
“Who did you see?”
Danny sighs.
“Mia?”
Kings freezed the moment he heard her name.
“Mia…?”
“Huh? I swear guy she has changed…she looks so rugged..crazy and fearless…she pretended not to know me I’m telling you. I was embarrassed the way she shunned me off yesterday night”
“Really…?”
“Seems like she totally changed a lot cause of that” he said and kings nodded.
“But I can tell she has became more pretty…I think I kinda like this new her better than the old one”
“You can just hook up with her then”
“What! No way…she may be pretty but she isn’t my type…I’m more into cute girls…she’s a big NO” he shakes his head.
Candy felt left out and decided to ask who this Mia is.
“Who is this Mia you guys are talking about?”
“Umm…she’s just our old classmate” Danny itch behind his ear.
“And my first love” Kings added and Candy snapped her face to him.
“First love?”
“I’m gonna take a look around” Danny said gulping down the remaining content in the glass and turns.
“By the way…” Danng swivels on his initial attempt and faced Candy.
“This doesn’t fit you” he mussed up her hair and smiles before finally leaving.
“That cunt…” She arranged her hair.
Kings said nothing as Danny left.
Candy noticed his mood has changed and decided to say something.
“I got a perm” she grins.
“It’s pretty” he said nonchalantly and gulp down his drink.
Candy sighs.
Who the hell is this Mia? She thought.
SOMEWHERE AT THE PARTY.
“Have you thought about it?”
“There’s nothing to think about Clark? I’ve made my decision”
“So…you’re eventually giving up uh? You’re really gonna let them walk over you again?”
“These are my parents we’re talking about here Clark”
“And so what if they’re your parents? They don’t get to dictate your life…it’s yours and you should live it the way you wanted not the way they want”
“Just…leave it…there’s nothing I can do anyway”
“Of course there’s something you can do…think about it well Mec…you are giving up something you love here…and once you made this choice…there’s no going back”
“So what do you want me to do? Leave the company like that to perish? Ignore my weak father just to chase after what I want…that’s is just selfishness…I can’t do that to my parents”
“Your parents are the one being selfish here just like they did six years ago…get hold of yourself Mercury..you can’t let them keep doing this to you…controlling you however they like all in their own good”
“There must be another way…I’m trying to look out for you here”
“If you’re gonna keep telling me to act selfish then please don’t look out for me…I’ll sort it out” she said and there was silent.
“What happened six years ago…is different…I kinda understand them” she said and Clark scoffs.
“Fine…I guess I was being too noisy…I forgot my place for a second…but remember Mercury…your parents are always like that…they’re never satisfied…they don’t care as long as it in their favor…this happened once and I’m just trying to stop something similar from happening again but it’s seems…I’m just overstepping…it isn’t my matter anyway…it’s your life deal with it the way you deem fit…I just pray you won’t regret it” he said and turns leaving.
Mercury just stood there clenching and unclenching her fist trying hard not to cry.
She didn’t want it also…she just had no choice.
Once again…her parents has conquered her.
Ivy was coming out of the restroom when she bumps into Leo.
Ever since she arrived she has been trying hard to avoid him but finally here she is right in front of her.
“Follow me” he grab her hand and drag her somewhere.
“What do you want Leo?” She frowns.
“We need to talk…I’ll keep it short. That night_”
“Was a mistake…a terrible mistake that shouldn’t have happened” she interrupted him.
“No it wasn’t” he arch his brows.
“Yes it was…it was Leo”
“We both wanted it…it wasn’t a mistake”
“We weren’t in our right state of mind. We were drunk for fuck sake!..get over it already I’m already feeling like shit don’t make me feel more miserable okay?! It was just an ordinary road gig which I assure you won’t repeat itself ever again!” Ivy said stify walking away without letting Leo say anything and he just stood there confused and dumbfounded.
On walking away, she bumped into Clark who seems to have an angry expression on. Nevertheless, she decided to approach and perhaps end everything.
“Clark”
“Ohh…Ivy…hey” he rubs his temples.
“Clark I need to speak with you”
“Can it wait? I’m not composed right now” He asked in a tired voice. Ivy caught a glimpse of Mercury coming and she became more determined.
“No it can’t…I need to tell you now” Clark lets out a sigh then give in.
“What is it Ivy?”
“I like you Clark…I’ve been liking you for a while now. I’m in love with you” she said blatantly and loud enough for Mercury to hear.
Mercury stopped on her tracks and waited to hear Clark’s response.
“I…I didn’t…know that”
“Now you do”
Clark went silent for a while…he seems frustrated and lost in thought Ivy noticed this and moved closer to him wrapping her arms around him.
“I’m not telling you this so you could take responsibility or burden you with my feelings. I know very well you have someone your heart beats for already…I just thought you should know…I wanted to free from this torture…letting it out was the only way…I need to tell you for me to be able to give up on you”
Clark wrapped his arms around her too and this pissed Mercury off making her March away in anger.
“You’ve done so much for me Ivy…I’m forever indebted to you…thank you” he replied softly.
Kings eventually managed to get himself drunk and Candy was left with the work to take him home.
She managed to get him outside to his car.
“How can he manage to be damn cute even in this state?” Candy smiles broadly with her palms clasps together as she rest his back against the car.
After staring at him like a freak for some moment, she tries to get the car key from his pocket but Kings held her hand and before she knew it her back was already slammed against the car.
She released a light gasp.
“Kings…sorry did I startled you? I was trying to get the keys” she said looking up at his glassy face.
Kings says nothing. His grip on her shoulders grew tight and he starts to lean closer to her.
Danny came out of the building to have a quick smoke.
He stubbed a cigarette stick between his lips, lit it and sucked in the air.
He took a glance up and he thought he saw a familiar face. He looked back up and his eyes caught Candy trapped in between the car with a man which he surely knows is Kings.
He took his eyes away and tries to focus on the smoke but it was already too late as he choked on the whift of the smoke.
With irritation, he threw the cigarette somewhere and finds his way inside without taking a second look at them.
Just an inch closer then their lips would be meeting. Candy closed her eyes anticipating for the kiss but her hope was truncated when she heard Kings voice.
“I’m sorry…I’m sorry Candy…I…can’t do it…I’m…sorry” he slurred his head falling on her left shoulder.
