CHAPTER 43
“You’re drunk” Mercury said taking her sit.
“Are you really gonna marry him?” He asked and she looks away.
“What’s your deal with that? It’s none of your business”
“You think so? My fiancee left me all of a sudden then my best friend also then after so many years they both came back telling me they’re getting married. You really think that’s none of my damn business”
“You cheated on me Mercury and you don’t even feel guilty about it”
“What? Cheated. How the hell did I do that?”
“First you were my fiancee and second…you knew I like you…but you went for him. You cheated my feelings and everything” replied Clark and Mercury scoffs.
“I never cheated on you. First we were not really dating and second…second I started dating Leo after our engagement was called off how on earth did I cheated? And also talking about cheating here I think you were the one cheating you were engaged to me…claim you like me but you still went ahead and kiss another fucking girl…who on earth cheated now uh?” She pushed him by the chest.
And there was a short silence.
“I was angry…I overheard you telling Olive you were leaving the next day…I also overheard your parents telling you about leaving the country at the funeral also. I was angry and shattered…I was hurt Mercury…I felt useless and abandoned…I was angry at both you and your parents ”
“It wasn’t my fault my parents forced me out of the country. I never wanted to leave also I wish to stay here with you guys too…but you…forget it…it’s in the past anyway…no use talking about it”
Clark went to her and sat beside her on the couch.
“I want you back Mercury…I admit I’ve let my anger get the best of me and have been mean to you ever since you arrived…I just couldn’t take it…?” He held her face.
“I don’t want you to marry Leo…I don’t want you for any other guys…I’m still into you Mec…?” He said staring affectionately at her.
To her hearing this from him really made her heart beats faster and she knew clearly that she wants the same thing.
But…what about Leo?
She moves her face away.
“I can’t Clark…I…can’t do what you want…?” She replied almost in a whisper.
Clark held her face back making her face him again and slowly he leans towards her.
Her eyes went from his face to his lips then from his lips to his face repeatedly.
She grip unto the her clothes tightly.
She wanted this.
She has been craving for this for years now.
But is it right for her to do this now?
Her face grew hot and her heartbeat accelerate as he leans closer.
She closed her eyes when his lips finally met hers.
And as expected.
The feelings…the sparks…the one she never felt when Leo or Chris kissed her came rushing in.
The same sparks she felt six years ago when he kissed her.
The kiss was slow and gentle but really sweet.
He bit her lower lip and she opened up for him.
Their tongues lock with each other and she brought up her hand to his shoulder.
Clark held her closer as their lips move rhythmically on each other for a while.
He broke the kiss softly and Mercury blinked her eyes repeatedly biting her lower lip.
Clark didn’t say anything either.
They both knew they wanted more.
Their faces are still close to each other that they can feel each other’s breath.
“Mercury…?” He called in that seductive voice.
Mercury looks at him and caught him still looking at her lips.
No she couldn’t hold it anymore.
Biting her lower lip one last time she wrapped her arms around his shoulder and slam her lips on his.
Clark pulled her by the waist and she sat straddled on his torso.
He held her tightly and Mercury kissed him more deeply.
Seems like she was really craving for it.
They keep on deepening the kiss and it was a little bit rough this time.
He removed her silky purple robe from her and carry her up.
She wrap her legs around his waist still not breaking the kiss they made their way to her bedroom.
Placing her gently on the bed she knelt on it facing Clark who stood in front of her.
Staring at her swollen wet lips without saying anything, Mercury brought her hands to his shirt to unbutton it.
Clark held her hand and she looks at him.
He gave her the ‘are_you_sure_you_wanna_do_this?’ look and she drop her gaze back to his shirt.
Clark withdrew his hand and she proceeded in Unbottoning his shirt.
She took it off him and it fell to the floor.
She brought her hand to his pant and lose his belt.
Before she could pull down his pant he held her hand again bringing it on his chest the part where the heart is.
Mercury stares at it for a while before bringing her gaze to his.
He seems to be looking at her the whole time.
She dropped her gaze back to his chest and rub her palm over it gently and slowly.
She continues rubbing his bare chest then slowly to his neck rubbing it seductively.
He got tingles and closed his eyes enjoying the feeling.
From his neck she moves to his face and brush his lips slowly.
He opens his eyes.
“I missed you Mercury…?” He said as her palm stays on his cheek.
She said nothing.
Clark steps closer and she brought her hand down.
He brought his hand up to her shoulder and push the spaghetti strap of the negligee off her left shoulder.
He buried his face in her neck and Mercury’s breathe hitched.
Clark could hear her heart hammering in her ribcage.
So was his.
He place kisses all over her neck one of his hand holding her waist and the other one brushed down the spaghetti strap of the negligee off her right shoulder.
It fell off her body on the bed as her breast came in contact with his bare chest.
He took her lips in his again and a soft moan left her lips as he deepened the kiss hugging her tightly to himself.
NEXT MORNING.
Mercury smiles as she woke up.
She trace her hand on the bed looking for Clark but got nothing.
She opens her eyes and he wasn’t on the new with her.
Was it all a dream after all?
She became a little sad.
Sighing she faces the other side of the bed just to find him staring at her smiling.
It wasn’t a dream.
It was all real.
She finds herself smiling and suddenly feeling shy she went under the duvet.
Clark smirks and went under the duvet also.
And they both wouldn’t stop giggling under the duvet.
Doing whatever they rolled on the bed wrapping the duvet around themselves.
They continue rolling from one side to another until they finally land their butts on the floor.
Both wrapped in the duvet like a human burrito with Clark on top of her.
“Good morning…?” She said.
“Lovely morning…?” He smiles and kissed her forehead and they wouldn’t stop smiling at each other.
AFTER A WHILE.
Mercury came out of the bathroom dying her hair with a towel.
On coming out she was meet with the grinning Clark at the door.
“Fuck! You scared me” she said walking towards the closet.
“Let me do that” he collected the towel from her and start dying her hair.
Mercury just looks at him.
Is she really dreaming or this is happening for real.
Clark suddenly stops dying her hair and pit the towel around her neck using it to draw her closer to him with his lips landing on hers.
They took some steps back as they kissed.
When her legs came against the bed before Clark could make her back lie on it she pushed him away.
“Go take your bath” she said to him.
Clark lick his lower lip seductively and tries to take her lips in his again but Mercury stop him.
“Now” she said and Clark pouted.
“Alright…?” He walks backwards to the bathroom smiling at her.
He was almost falling but quickly composed himself.
Mercury chuckles.
After what seems like forever he finally enters the bathroom and Mercury smiles.
Moving towards the wardrobe her phone beeps and she took it.
???? Morning love…sorry for just leaving like that yesterday…there was a sudden emergency at work. I don’t think I can come back right now. We’ll talk when I come back…see you in a week…I miss you already” ???? she read Leo’s message and sighs.
She totally forgot about him.
How will she explain things to him?
She took some clothes and wore it and also placed some clothes on the bed for Clark since he can’t wear his alcohol stinking clothes.
Done with everything, she walks out of the room.
She doesn’t have any appointment today which means she’s staying at home all day and even if she has.
She’s gonna cancel them all.
Today…is for them only.
She’s really happy.
Clark came out of the bathroom dripping wet.
He moves closer to the bed and saw a neatly wrapped clothes.
Mercury picked one of her biggest top and her PJ for him since that’s the only thing appropriate she has for him to wear.
Clark did almost everything he has to do in a rush and rushes downstairs.
She wasn’t in the living room so he went to the kitchen and found her cooking humming a song.
He stays at the corridor looking at her…and the smiles wouldn’t leave his face.
He really can’t believe this is happening.
After six years…he’s finally with her.
He has never once stopped loving her.
Even though he was mad at her…he still yearn for her.
No doubt…he was more than shattered when he heard Leo proposed to her.
He thought he had lose her forever.
But here he is…with her…finally.
Or is he dreaming…?
He hugged her from behind resting his head on his shoulder.
Mercury stops singing and smiles.
“Go wait in the living room…I’ll be done soon” she said pushing him away from her.
She continues doing her thing and Clark wrapped his arms around her from behind again.
Mercury sighs.
She tries pushing him but he continues doing it.
She decided to give up and just continue cooking with this Leach at her back.
Wherever she goes…they go together.
He won’t release her.
“Almost done…?” She smiles to herself covering the pot with its lid.
Clark took in her scent and eventually place a kiss on her neck.
“You smell like mint” he whispers into her neck.
“I am mint” she replied.
“Yeah you are…?” He continues placing kisses everywhere on her neck making her chuckles.
He spins her around and she gave him a big smile.
“I love your smile” he said sliding his hands around her waist.
“Clark” Mercury called.
“Um…?” He hummed in response.
“This…is real right?”
“No…it’s surreal…?” Clark replied with his lips on hers.
She chuckles.
“I don’t mind though…?” She wrap her arms around his neck.
“If it’s a dream…I don’t wanna wake up…?” She kisses him which Clark reciprocated immediately.
Clark carries her and placed her on the counter coming in between her legs.
The kiss keep becoming more intense and they seem to forgot something is on the fire.
Perceiving the burnt smell…Mercury quickly unlock from the kiss.
“Oh no Clark…the pork fried rice” she pushed him away silently getting down and Clark groans.
He pulled her back before she could get to the pork fried rice taking her lips in again.
“Clark stop it!” She pushed him away and rushed to the soup turning off the electric stove.
“It’s burnt” she gave Clark a look and he shrugged.
She served the burnt pork fried rice and took a sit.
The burnt smell and the sweet aroma mixed together.
“This is gonna be delicious…?” Clark sniff in the aroma and picked up his spoon eating.
“How is it?”
“I’m sure it’d have been sweeter of it didn’t get burnt.
“You caused it…” She picked up her spoon and eats also.
“How’s it?”
“Well…eatable…?”
“I told ya…”
“But this isn’t the flavor I want…it isn’t that sweet”
“I can make it sweeter” he stood up and Mercury quickly moved away from her sit.
“No more kisses…?”
“What? Why? You can’t do that”
“Oh yes I can…enjoy your food I’m gonna find something else to eat” she left to the fridge.
“Hey…Mercury!”
MINUTES LATER.
Clark lay on the couch with his head on Mercury’s lap.
She plays with his hair while Clark Kent his eyes shut.
“Clark…?” She called.
“Um..?” He hummed in response.
“Nothing…just…calling”
“Mercury..?”
“Um…?”
“Do you love Leo?” He opens his eyes to look at her now.
She wasn’t really expecting that.
“Yeah I do…?” She replied and Clark looks away.
“He’s my friend after all…of course I love him” she said again.
“Why did you date him?”
“Because….he was good to me”
“You called that an excuse? If that’s how life is…then I would have dated a lot of girls” he scoffs.
Mercury smiles.
“Leo was different…he stayed by me through hard times…he never stop loving me even when I pushed him away. He won’t leave…he stood by my side and always make sure I’m happy”
“He was just doing all that so he could get something back in return”
“Which is?”
“You of course”
“Well…maybe you’re right…cause he did get me…I had no choice but to say yes to him”
“So…are you guys getting married or something?”
“We’re certainly getting married…to our respective spouses when the time is right”
“Mec…?”
“I was planning on breaking up with him yesterday night…but the chance flew off…I couldn’t”
“You’re cheating on him right now do you know that?”
“You’re betraying your friend right now do you know that?”
“But I like you first…”
“No…he did…he told me he likes me before you did”
“But you were mine first”
“And he dated me first”
“But you want me not him”
“How sure are you?”
“You’re with me right now…not him”
She kept quiet.
“We’re meant to be planet girl…whether you like it or not…we’re bounded by fate” he intertwined their fingers together and Mercury kept quiet.
He looks at her.
“What’s wrong?” He asked sitting up on sighting her sad expression.
“I miss you calling me that…?”
“What? Planet girl?” He asked and she nodded like a little girl.
Clark smiles.
“I’m sorry Clark…for leaving you…when you needed me the most”
Clark hugs her to himself.
“It’s not your fault…I understand…Mercury…I don’t wanna lose you ever again. My world revolves around you…you are all that keep me going…you’re my world Mercury…my planet…the hot girl who melts the COLD boy’s heart…I….love you…?” He said and Mercury buried her head in his chest.
“I love you Clark…?” She said in her mind.
“I missed you a lot…six years without you was torture” he said again stroking her hair.
