CHAPTER 44
For days Mercury has been busy doing shoots that she has no time for Clark.
But they do chat sometimes and Mercury even fall asleep during their calls and chats.
They decided to keep their dating a secret for now till everything is settled.
Mercury smiles to her phone as his message came in.
He sent her a picture of him with a tired expression on.
Mercury smiles.
“He’s so cute…?” She mutters to herself.
“Are you even listening to me?!” Candy raised her eyebrows.
“Uh? What…?”
“What are you looking at?” She tries to collect the phone from her but Mercury shift it away.
Candy stood in akimbo looking at her.
“Alright…alright I’ll tell you…Clark_”
“Clark?”
“We’re dating”
“What?!” Candy shouted making the attention shift on them.
“I’ll explain everything when we get home…just let us get this over with okay?” She said in a rush and excuse her.
“How great…?” Candy scoffs.
MORGAN’S AUTOMOBILE COMPANY.
Clark drops his phone as Ivy came in.
“Hey Ivy…what’s up” he smiles at her.
“Nothing much…just about heading home”
“Oh okay…?”
“Aren’t you leaving?”
“I’m gonna stay a while…just have some things I wanna do”
“Need any help?”
“Oh…it’s okay…you can leave you were busy all throughout today…you must be tired”
She smiles.
“Erm…Clark? I noticed you’ve been smiling a lot these days…am I missing something?”
“Have I? But that’s what you want isn’t it? Or should I stop?”
“Oh no no no…it’s rare seeing you this happy”
He smile and went back to his work.
Ivy stood there playing with her fingers.
“Erm…Clark?”
“Yes Ivy”
“I was wondering…it’s been a while since we ate out…why don’t we have lunch out tomorrow?” She said and Clark keep silent.
“Clark…?”
“You…make the reservation and text me” he replied and she grins.
“I will…goodbye Clark..see you tomorrow” he smiles nodding and she grins heading out.
Clark chuckles shaking his head.
“By the way what is she doing now…?” He took his phone again.
MERCURY’S APARTMENT.
Candy wouldn’t stop glaring at Mercury as her phone rings.
Mercury sighs.
“Alright I’ll tell you everything stop glaring already”
“I’m listening..and I want every details…including the most insignificant”she said and Mercury sighs.
“I don’t think you’ll wanna hear that too” she made a knowing face.
“Don’t tell me you two…?”
Mercury chuckles and candy spank her arm.
“Ouch! Hey why did you hit me?”
“What were you thinking Mercury? How could you do that so soon?”
“Well…it was inevitable…it couldn’t be help and…I love it anyway” she shrugged.
“Are you really the Mercury I know?”
She chuckles.
“How did it happen?”
“Okay…he came that night drunk and….?” She explains everything to her.
Candy sighs.
“Look at you grinning” she said gulping down her drink
“So what about Leo?”
“I’ll have to explain things to him”
“That you’re now together with Clark?”
“Am I crazy? I’ll just break up…nobody’s gonna know for now”
“I pity the poor guy” she said and Mercury’s spirit went down a little.
“Hey it’s okay…don’t feel bad you’ve done enough look how happy you’re now…someone could tell you love him so much” candy said and she let out a small smile.
“Thank you Cand…for your support” she said and candy nodded.
“By the way…you should get ready by 3 tomorrow ”
“Why? We don’t have any appointment by 1”
“We don’t have but you do because you’re having a lunch date with Kings tomorrow”
“Kings? Lunch date!”
“Hmm…he’ll be waiting at yummy delicacy”
“What?! You don’t mean that?”
“Find out tomorrow”
“Wow…seriously…gosh Mercury…did I ever tell you l love you so much?”

“You’re the best girl…I love you so fucking much” she gave her a tight hug.
“Oh no..I shouldn’t be doing this now…you should have told me earlier I would have stopped at the store…I have nothing appropriate to wear…oh no…my face is mess also…I’ve got to do some facial tonight…luckily I brought my favorite pink heels with me…oh what to do! What to do! I shouldn’t have drank…my face would be swollen by tomorrow…oh my goodness I’m so damn nervous…my hair…I have to wash it….I shouldn’t be doing this right now…Mercury see you later….I wish you luck on your love with Clark!” She shouted running out of her house.
“I wish you luck on your date also!” She shouted after her.
“Gosh…look at how happy she is…?” She smiles.
She picked up her phone and made a video call.
Clark picked it immediately as if he’d been waiting for her call.
“Mec what happened? Why weren’t you picking my calls? I called numerous times but you weren’t. I thought you told me you’ve gotten home already are you okay?”
“I’m fine Clark…as you can see”
“Are you sure?”
“Oh my were you that worried?”
“Of course I was…how was work today…hope those people didn’t stress you much cause I know they can be one hell of a pain telling you to bend your body one way or the other”
“I’m fine Clark….it’s my work remember?”
He runs his hands through his wet hair.
“Wow…you look hot Clarky”
“I’m always hot babe…and cute”
She chuckles.
“Have you eaten?” She asked.
“Nope just finished showering…wait should I come over to eat?” He grins.
“I thought you had to go to work early cause of a meeting or something”
“Ah right! The meeting…just that I miss you already…?”
“We’ll see each other on the weekend”
Clark face lightens up immediately.
“Right…I almost forgot about that”
“Whose house is it this weekend?”
“It’s Carly…but since she’s not back yet I think we’ll have to reschedule again”
“It’s already been a week why aren’t they back yet?”.
“Well from what she told me…Olive wants them to explore spain more”
“I miss her…and Olive”

“I miss Clark too”
He chuckles.
“So what’re you doing?”
“Talking to you”
“Aren’t you eating?”
“Don’t feel like…I’ll eat later”
“Then you should take your bath ”
“I’m too lazy to do that”
“Should I come over then?..I can bath for you”
“That would be great…will you?”
“Alright I’m coming” with that he ends the call.
“Hey…what…does he really mean it…I was just joking around…?”
Twenty minutes later the door wouldn’t stop ringing and Mercury went to open it.
“Clark?” She called in surprise.
“You really came”
“Why? You think I’m joking when I said I’m coming?”
“Never thought you’re really gonna come…but what to do? I just finished having my bath”
“Then you can just have it again…I promised to do it for you remember? And I’m here to do that”
“You don’t mean it”
“Watch me” he swept her off the ground and head for her room.
“Hey! Seriously…?”
After playing around with the water for a bit…they changed their wet clothes and Mercury made some food which they ate before retiring to bed.
Mercury snuggle in Clark’s arms.
He wrapped his arms around her tightly and she buried her head in his chest.
“Have you talk to Leo?”..
“Not yet…it’s not a matter we can discuss on the phone so I’m still waiting till he comes back”
“Okay…?”
“He won’t take it lightly would he?”
“I don’t know…he only knows how he feels”
“Sleep tight Clark”
“Sweet dreams MINE” he kissed her forehead and Mercury smiles at the new name he calls her.

THE NEXT DAY.
Candy enters the restaurant looking extra stunning.
She really put on an extra effort in dolling herself up.
She walks into the restaurant majestically her heels making some sounds getting everyone’s attention.
She flips her hair and people wouldn’t stop staring at her.
She’s beautiful.
She saw kings sitting at a corner and grins.
“Hey” she walks up to him.
“Who are you?” Kings asked and she chuckles tucking her hair behind her ear.
“Candy” she replied.
“Can…candy?!” His eyes widened.
Candy hits his arm playfully and took a sit.
“I know I’m beautiful and all that so can you take your sit now and stop drooling?” She said and kings snapped out of it.
Candy chuckles seeing she really got him.
She’s proud of herself.
Does that mean she’s getting a boyfriend too.
“Are you okay?” Kings asked looking at her as her Reddened face.
“I’m…I’m cool”
“I was expecting Mercury but it seems…I made a mistake after all”
“You’re looking pretty Candy I must say” he said and Candy smile shyly.
“I know”
“Excuse me for interrupting…what would you like to order” the waiter asked.
“What do you wanna eat?” Kings asked.
“I’ll have fried rice and chicken with milkshake” she said
“Just get hamburger and black coffee” kings said and the waiter nodded looking at candy the whole time.
“Please wait a minute” he smiles at her while she smiles back.
Kings cough and candy look at him.
“Are you okay?” He nodded and adjusted his tie.
Candy placed her hand on the table resting her chin on her palms.
She stares and smiles at him in admiration.
“What’s wrong?”
“How can you be so cute and cool at the same time…it drives me crazy everytime” she grins.
“Well…I’m always cool but I’m not cute don’t call me that”
“How can I not? Look you’re acting cute right now”
He clears her throat.
“Why don’t you tell me about yourself miss candy”
Candy squealed.
“I’m Candy Henry 22years…currently single” she grins.
“That’s all ”
“Um..?” She nods.

“Kings Samuel…CEO of Kings Entertainment”
“You were once a bully and the bad boy type in high school…you love rapping and girls flocks around you” she grins.
“How did you know all that?”
“I made my findings”

“Kings…are you single?”
Kings didn’t get to answer that when the waiter brought their foods.
“Here are your orders…?” He served them
“Enjoy” he smiles at her.
“Thank you…?” Candy smiles back and the waiter excuse them.
“Hooo…this is my favorite Kings…I so much love it”
“Yeah…enjoy”
“She started eating and wouldn’t stop moaning as she eats
Kings drank his coffee and watch her eats.

She looks away
Oh no…must you bring out the pig in you right now candy? She thought within just then Kings stood up.
Candy looks at him holding the chicken in her hand.
He came behind her and pack her hair.
He took a strand of her hair which almost entered her mouth and Candy blushed.
After packing it together with a band, he went back to his sit and eat his hamburger while candy wouldn’t stop blushing and smiling.
They ate in silence and candy wouldn’t stop stealing glances at him.
The day went by perfect and to her it was the perfect date for her.
“If you don’t mind I wanna get something at the office real quick…will you follow me?”
“Sure I’d love to” she grins even though she’s not sure of that.
She has been feeling quite uncomfortable after eating.
Seems like indigestion.
Not surprising…she ate too fast earlier.
“Let’s go” she nodded and he open the car for her.
KING’S ENTERTAINMENT.
Candy waited patiently for him in his office as he took whatever he has to take.
She hits her chest softly hoping to relieve herself but it still wouldn’t work.
Forget it…I would take some drugs when I get home.
So she thought.
“Let’s go…I’ll drop you” she smiles following him outside.
They entered the elevator and it was just the two of them.
Ohhh how I wish the elevator could stop like those movies so we could have our romance. She thought smiling.
“Are you okay?”
“Uh? Why?”
“I noticed you’ve been holding your chest since earlier…is it_” he didn’t complete his statement when the door opens and some people came in.

They a greeted him as they come in and he nods at them.
The door closes and not long it opens again another set of people coming in.
Now candy has start to feel really uncomfortable.
She doesn’t think she can hold it in any longer.
No…she can…she can’t made a fool of herself with the people here most especially Kings.
She’ll just avoid talking.
“Oh aren’t you MJ’s manager…you’re so beautiful” one of the lady said and she smiles nodding.
“She’s pretty just like MJ”
“She could just be a model herself”
“Our company would love to sign you” a guy said and she smiles.
“Why isn’t this damn door opening?” She thought within.
She has to rush to the toilet.
She can’t hold it that long.
Ding!
The door opens and she sighs in relief
She rushed out immediately but was suddenly pulled back.
Gasping she didn’t knew when she let it out.
It came out really loud and her body cooled down immediately.
But however…embarrassment flushed in as the people look at her.
She just belched loudly in the lounge.
Some people laughs silently.
Some murmuring among themselves.
She looks at Kings who had this face and let go of her hand.
He put his hand in his nose just like others.
Right there she felt like the ground should just open its dear mouth and swallow her whole.
She turns back in embarrassment and dashed out of the building at once.
Kings called after her but she wouldn’t stop.
She continues running her eyes now tear filled.
By the time Candy got back home, her tears has now washed all the mascara down her face.
She can’t believe she did that in front of him.
How embarrassing.
She threw her bag somewhere and crawled up on the bed putting the pillow on her head and weeps.
She has never been embarrassed like this in her whole life.
THE NEXT DAY.
Candy dragged her legs lazily to the door which has been ringing for a while now.
She opens the door and and close it back immediately.
“What the fuck!” She looks at herself from head to toe.
“I look a total mess! Shit!” She rushed to the bathroom and almost screamed when she saw her reflection in the mirror.
“That scared me! Candy you’re insane” she quickly wash her and change her clothes.
“My goodness what kind of a person are you candy!” She looks at her apartment which was messy…clothes scattered around everywhere bags shoes and even food everywhere.
She packed the one she could and hid some in the sofa and anywhere hid able.
She sighs and arrange herself then went back to the door opening it with a big smile on her face.
“Hey Candy”
“Hi Dan…come in”
Danny went in and she follows.
“It’s surprising to see you at my house this morning”
“Yeah…can I get a glass of water first?”
“Sure…just a sec” she went to her stinky kitchen and wash a glass went to the fridge which was filled with alcohol and wine.
She took a bottle of water and serve him.
“Thanks…?” He gulp it down and Candy wouldn’t stop drooling.
He’s so hot. She thought.
“It’s the weekend…Mercury asked me to come get you since you won’t pick anyone’s call”
“Oh…my phone was on silent”
“I heard what happened yesterday…kings said he was calling after you but you just ran off” Dan said and she itch her hair uncomfortably.
Danny smiles.
“Were you embarrassed?”
“Kind of…?” She cleared her throat but then her eyes caught something behind Dan.
On the chair he’s sitting.
“Oh no!…fuck me” she mutters to herself.
“What did you say?”
“Uh? Nothing…you’re welcome to my house”
“It’s beautiful…it must have cost a lot”
“Yeah kinda…?”
She stood up thinking of ways to get rid of that embarrassing thing behind him.
“So why did you come?” She sat beside him.
“Like I said earlier it’s the weekend and Mercury told me your address to get you…the guys decided to spend the ritual out today”
“Ohh…the ritual..?” She laugh in a silly manner tracing her hand behind him.
Her hand finally caught it.
She smiles to herself.
“Are you tryna seduce me right now?” Dan suddenly said and she looks at him.
That’s when she discovers their faces are really close to each other.
She gulp down nothing.
“Why would I do that?”
“Because I’m handsome” he said simply.
“And I’m pretty” she withdraw her hand squeezing the pant in her hand and stand up.
Dan pulled her back by the same hand.
“What…what…?”
“You look quite tense…are you sure you’re okay?”
“Of course I am…I’m gonna go get dressed you should wait here”
“Pack some clothes too…we’re spending two days”
“Alright…?”
He leans closer looking at her face.
“What…is it?”
“Did you cry all night? Your face looks swollen”
“I…didn’t…?” She looks away and Danny chuckles.
“Why are you laughing?”
“Your face earlier…it could kill someone you didn’t look like human”
“You saw that!”
“And I saw this too” he raised her hand up showing the pant she’s holding.
“Fuck!” She removed her hand and ran to her room.
Danny only chuckles.
