CHAPTER 42
THE NEXT DAY.
Mercury was on her way to Clark’s house when it started raining.
She could have just went back home but she was determined to talk to him that day.
To her it’s now or never.
It started raining heavily but she still won’t give up.
By the time she arrived there getting out of the car to the entrance she was already soaked.
She rang the doorbell for the forth time and finally it opened.
“My goodness” Ivy exclaims as she saw her.
Mercury furrow her eyebrows together when she saw her.
What’s she doing in his house on weekend? She thought.
“Miss MJ…hope no problem?” She asked.
“Can I at least come in first?”
“Oh sure…come in” she makes way for her and Mercury went in.
“Why are you here?” Ivy asked.
“Where Is Clark?” Mercury asked also.
“Ivy who is_ what are you doing here?” He frowns.
“To see you…we need to seriously talk”
“Leave”
“I’m ain’t going no where unless we talk this shit out Clark…take my word for that” she dropped her bag.
“But first I think I need to change” she said while Ivy just stares at her in awe.
What’s wrong with this woman? She thought.
And why isn’t Clark doing anything?
MINUTES LATER.
Ivy took her to a guest room and she changed her clothes to one of Ivy’s.
“She even sleeps over…she should have just move in with him” she said to herself as she exit the room.
She went to the sitting room and saw the two chatting.
“If I hadn’t left…and his mother didn’t died…would I be living with him by now?” She asked herself.
“Clark…?” She called gaining their attention.
“I’ll go make dinner” Ivy stood up.
“Miss MJ do you care for anything?” Ivy asked.
“No need…she’s leaving soon” Clark said.
“I’m okay for now…thanks by the way” she replied and Ivy just nodded leaving to the kitchen.
Mercury took her sit.
“What do you want?”
“Does she stay here?” Mercury asked.
“Is that what you came here to ask?”
“You’ve became more rude…you weren’t this bad before”
“Don’t talk as if you know me”
“I knew you…I’m just not sure if you’re still the same person I know”
“I’ll throw you out if you don’t say what you came here for”
“I came here to make things right” she said and Clark scoffs.
“What I did back then was wrong of me…I’m sorry”
Clark sighs.
“Alright…apology accepted you can leave now”
“Clark!”
“I already said I’m sorry…can you just stop being a jerk already…stop being an ass and just_”
“Accept you back? Is that what you want? Alright…you’re welcome back Mercury…it’s been long how has your life in Paris been? Mine has been awesome since you left…so why don’t you just go fuck about with your fucking fiance_”
She slaps him.
“Jerk…?” She muttered.
Clark touched his cheek and gave her a look before going to his room.
“Clark!” Ivy who has been watching followed him.
Mercury went to the room angrily and wore her still wet clothes.
“How dare him…?” She took her bag and went out of the room.
She was about leaving when she spots where she was him kissing Carly six years ago.
“Jerk…?” She muttered.
“I’ve heard enough of what happened between you two…why don’t you just let it go now?” Ivy said behind her and she looks back at her.
“Everything was peaceful before you came…if its ain’t gonna work them I advise you to stop pushing it. He already went through a lot this past few years. And I won’t stand and just watch you hurt him anymore…he doesn’t deserves any of this” Ivy said.
“Why don’t you just mind your business?”
“His business is mine…I hope you stop here Miss MJ”
“Don’t worry I’m gonna do that even if you don’t ask me to” she glare at her before stomping out of there.
Ivy sighs.
It continues pouring heavily and Mercury was totally soaked when she got home.
“What happened to you?!” Leo asked immediately he spots her.
“What are you doing here Leo? How did you get in?” Mercury asked surprised.
“Candy told me the pass code…where are you coming from all wet like this?”
“Somewhere…I’ll go change” she went to her room.
AFTER A WHILE.
Leo made her a hot tea.
“What happened?” He asked.
“Nothing…just a little pissed off you don’t have to worry about it” she replied.
“Why are you here Leo?” She asked.
“We have to talk things out”
“Talk what out?”
“Us Ura. Things isn’t going right…we have to sort it out”
Mercury rubbed her forehead.
“I’m tired Leo…can we do this another day” she said tiredly and Leo stood up.
“What’s with you these days Ura…are you keeping something from me?”
“What? I’m keeping nothing okay?” She sighs and just then her phone rings.
They both look at the caller’s ID and it was Chris.
“Him again?” He stated clearly annoyed.
Mercury hang up the call but he won’t stop calling.
“Why don’t you just pick it up?”
“I’m not in the mood to talk to him”
“Dammit Ura! Are you still having something together with him behind me?”
“Leo!” Mercury glared at him.
“Tell me why that dickhead is calling you so late at night?!”
“I don’t know! I said I don’t know Leo let it go already please! I’m tired already I don’t have the strength to shout or fight this night!”
She walks to her room while Leo follows.
She was walking to her bed when her phone beeps.
????Bon, chéri…pourquoi ne réponds_tu pas à mes appels????? ( honey why aren’t you picking my calls)
????Tu me manques ???? (I miss you) Another one came in.
Mercury sighs.
????Tu me manques me Chevauchant ???? ( I miss you riding me) Leo snatch it from her.

Now Leo has reached his limit.
“What’s all these Ura?”
Mercury snatched the phone back from him.
“Can you explain all these?”
“Leo…?” She tried to hold him but he moves back.
“Fuck! Uranus how could you do this?!”
“Listen Leo…?”
“You won’t even let me touch you but you went ahead and fuck some dickhead behind me?!”
“That was before we started dating Leo I was drunk that night and he took advantage of me..I didn’t give it willingly”
“I’m tired of your fucking excuses Ura..you know I can’t keep up with you anymore..you do this all the time knowing I can’t do anything cause of the love I have for you…why did you date me in the first place? Why did you have to avoid me in the first place? What exactly is your problem Ura? Just why are you doing this to me?!”
“Leo please…I’m tired…leave”
“Mercury!”
“Not this night Leo…just leave me alone! Get out!” She said calmly but Leo drag her hand and pulled her to the bathroom.
“What are you doing Leo? Let go!”
He turned deaf ears and pulled her into the bathroom releasing the shower on her.
She shudders.
“Le_”
He brought lips down hard upon hers taking it in roughly.
She tried pulling away only to have his arms tightly around her as he slamed her against the wall.
Mercury gave him some punching on his chest still trying to get him away from her.
She bit his lower lip which made him withdraw and she lands him a slap immediately.
Both panting.
“He may be a dickhead….but he apologized…he told me he was sorry…he told me if he had known I was a virgin he wouldn’t have done that! He pleaded and I felt his sincerity!”
“Why didn’t you tell me? You could have just come clean?!”
“Do I have to report everything that happens in my life to you? Why? Because you’re my friend? Because you’re my boyfriend?!”
“Do you know how much it hurts for my pride to be taken away by some guy which I have no iota of feelings for? Do you know how hard it was for me? It was my fault anyway cause I agreed to date him? It was my fault I got drunk on that fucking date and he did that! Everything was my fault okay?! Now please spare me Leo…I’m tired too. I’m also going through a hard time…I’m having a hard time also…just spare me okay?”
“Having a hard time? You think you’re the only one hurting here? I’m hurting too! I have a heart too you know. It’s been six years already…I’ve been loving you for six years now?! Why aren’t you giving me the answer? I already proposed for a awhile now. What’s taking you so long to say yes? Do you think I’ll happy to hear the girl I loved for six good years was taken advantage of and I knew nothing about it. Do you think I’ll be happy she refuses to let me touch her. Do you think I’ll be to know she still talks to the same guy who took advantage of her?! Do you?!”
“Get lost Leo…get out of my house!” She pushed him out the door.
“Fine! Do whatever you deemed fit!” He leaves angrily.
Mercury went to change her wet clothes and crawls on the bed.
She’s even tired of crying now.
She just wanna sleep.
DAYS LATER.
“What?!”
“Hey what happened?”
“Kings entertainment has sighed MJ up” Jem face palm.
“Really…that’s great”
“Great seriously…we should have been the one to first sigh her up…now someone else has taken the glory” she filings her hands in the air.
“Maybe you should say that to the CEO”
“You should get ready to meet Cari and try to persuade her instead of digging what doesn’t concern you” Ivy said coming in and they all faced their works.
“I’ll…we’ll go now…?” Jem said pulling Israel up with her.
“Listen everyone…from now henceforth I don’t wanna hear you mentioning MJ in this company…alright?”
“Yes ma’am Ivy”
“Get back to work”
KINGS STUDIO.
“You did well today Mec…?” Kings smiles.
“I always did well” she said bodly.
“Don’t act up…let’s have lunch together”
“We would love that but we have another appointment…right candy?”
“Yeah but we can always reschedule it”
“I forgot for a while you’re a busy person…tell me whenever you’re free then…I’m always available”
“Of course I will…wait for it it won’t surely be long” Candy smiles at him.
“I was talking to her not you”
“Don’t worry Kings…we’ll take our leave now”
“Hmm…bye” he waves then tucked his hands in his pockets.
“See you later cutie…?” Candy blew a kiss at him giggling as she leaves.
Kings shakes his head.
Ever since she had that argument with Leo they haven’t talked or seen each other.
Normally Leo would have apologized immediately but this time he seems to be really angry and Mercury isn’t ready to talk to him either.
Leo met up with Clark and they’re both having a drink at the bar.
“Why did you call me?”
“It’s seems wrong…we aren’t talking”
“You think so?…I don’t think it’s necessary we do?”
“Mercury came to see you didn’t she?”
“Ask her yourself…don’t bring me into your shit” he gulped down his drink.
“Clark…I’m sorry…i wish we could be back together as we were before”
“Fuck Leo! Friends? Don’t even think of that. I stopped being your friend the moment you left me here and went to her”
“She needed somebody”
“I did also. I needed my friend. I needed you then but you left me for a girl how am I supposed to take that?”
Do you think I’ll be happy my best friend left me to go after my fiancee who ditched me and now they both came back telling me shit about getting married uh?!”
“I don’t regret doing it Clark…cause I love her”
Clark clenched his fists and eventually gave him a punch on the face.
“You fucked up Leo…I don’t ever wanna have anything to do with you now” he stormed out of there.
Getting to his car he rested his head on the seat and sighs.
He picked his phone and called the only person he knows can make him feel better a bit.
“Hey Clarkie”
“Carly…how are you?”
“I’m good…how is my love doing?”
He chuckles.
“you better don’t let Olive hear that…how is your honeymoon going?”
“So far so good…are you okay over there Clark?”
“Yeah…yeah..I am…?”
“I don’t think so…how about Mercury?”
“I don’t know”
“Why don’t you?”
“Is there a reason I should?”
“Of course there is…don’t tell.me you two haven’t made up yet”
“Clark! What are you doing?”
“I’m not doing anything?”
“Why aren’t you doing anything? She’s finally back…isn’t that what you always wanted?”
“I don’t care if she’s back”
“Oh yes you do…a.lot…look this could be a second chance for you guys…you have to work things out before it’s too late”
“It’s already too late Carly…there’s no second chance…she’s getting married…to Leo”
“Oh my God! Repeat that”
“Forget it Carly…not like I care anyway”
“Listen to me Clark…you’ve once been robbed off of something precious and dear to you…are you willing to let it slip off again? Can you afford to lose it once again…this time forever. Your answer will determine maybe this is gonna be the last time I’ll talk to you or not…think wisely and deeply” she hung up.
“Can you afford to lose it…once again…this time forever…?” Carly words rings in his head.
MERCURY’S APARTMENT.
“Candy is that you?!” Mercury asked going to the door.
She just finished showering clad in her nightwear and was ready to sleep when she heard the door rings.
She dragged herself sluggishly to the door and open it.
She was quite surprised as she really didn’t expect to see him.
“What do you want Leo?”
“You didn’t called”
“Neither did you”
He hugs her.
“Let’s just get married Ura…I’m ready to marry you”
Mercury squirm out of his hold.
“I’m…not ready to marry you Leo”
“What do you mean?”
Mercury clutch her clothes nervously avoiding his gaze.
“I think_” Leo’s phone ringing made her stop talking.
Leo eyed her suspiciously before picking the call.
“Hello…okay got it” he ends the call.
“I’ve got something to do…let’s talk about this later…I’ll call you or better still come back” he kissed her cheek and dashed out before she could say anything.
She sighs and slump on the chair.
SOME MINUTES LATER.
Waiting for him, she didn’t knew when she dozed off.
She woke up by the sound of the door ringing.
Dragging her feet to the door she sighs.
“I can do this….I can do it” she opens the door but was surprised to find him.
“Clark?” She called not believing her eyes.
Is her eyes playing tricks on her?
Why would he be here at this time of the night.
“Clark…?” She called again.
He came in focusing his eyes on hers.
She stepped back as he moves closer coming in.
“Why are you in_” he slam his lips on her before she could complete her statement.
With all the strength in her she pushed him away and gave him a resounding slap.
This chapter really gave me some hard time.
I had to think of what to write for a long time.
