CHAPTER 40
The ride home was awfully silent.
Mercury couldn’t stop thinking about what she saw earlier.
She’s damn worried but Clark won’t even talk to her.
“You should drop me here…I’ve something to buy I’ll meet you at home” Candy said knowing she has to give them space.
Leo stopped the car and she got down.
“You guys should take it easy” she said before leaving.
CLARK’S HOUSE.
Ivy took Clark to his room and rushed over to the drawer looking for his medications.
It’s been long since he had an attack like this…everyone thought he had gotten over it even him himself.
But Mercury’s presence today triggers everything.
Finally finding it she rushed back to him and put it in his mouth.
Clark took it and he started calming down.
Sighing in relief, Ivy sat beside him on the floor both resting their back against the bed.
“Why…why? Everything was already going well…why does she have to come and ruin it WHY?!” he removed his tie angrily.
Ivy embrace him patting his back.
“It’s okay Clark…it’s gonna be okay…you have me remember…?”
Clark weeps silently in her arms.
“You should get over it now…you shouldn’t keep breaking down everytime because of her…remember I’m here for you…and I promise…I’m never gonna leave you…I promise you that Clark…” She said and Clark looks at her for a while before looking away.
Ivy held his face back wiping his tears and before he knew it he finds her leaning closer.
Clark did nothing but just stares…the scene earlier replayed in his head.
How he was putting the garter on her.
She looks so beautiful but yet he can’t tell her.
He wants to embrace her…tell her he missed her all these years but at the same time he felt angry and sad especially when he learned she’s dating Leo…his best friend.
Mercury has hurt him a lot..but he still find himself not getting over her even after six years has passed.
Ivy lips met his.
He did nothing…her lips just stayed there on his.
His mind was all over Mercury.
He feels shattered and confused.
He’s hurt and angry.
He wants her back but then he wants her to feel the same pain he felt also.
Ivy seeing he’s not responding to the kiss and unlock from it.
She made to stand up but Clark pulled her back smashing his lips on hers.
The kiss was deep and rough.
He literally pours all his feelings in it.
Her gaze.
Her smile.
Her body.
The way she calls him.
Everything wouldn’t leave his head.
It’s seems they were torturing him.
He lifts Ivy up and dropped her on the bed.
Ivy studies his face.
It was full of mixed emotions.
Hurt.
Anger.
Hatred.
Longing
And confusion.
He took her lips in his again on coming on top her undressing her at the same time.
Ivy wraps her hands around his neck.
After succeeding in pulling off her short gown..leaving her in only pant and bra, the scene earlier replayed in his head again.
How he went under her when putting the garter on her.
How he held her smooth leg.
How his lips brushed her soft thigh.
He couldn’t control himself.
He took off his shirt in a rush and lock his lips with hers again.
Their tongues dancing in their mouths.
Ivy dug her fingers in his hair ruffling it.
Her moans fill the room as Clark place kisses all over her body.
MERCURY’S APARTMENT.
“Did you two talked?” Leo asked on getting inside the house.
“We didn’t get the chance to…he wouldn’t even look at me…the rest seems upset too…only Olive and Carly understand” she replied.
“Don’t push it…there’s nothing we can do if they won’t listen”
“But I have to do something…I can’t just leave things like this”
“I already said don’t push it…let them be if they won’t listen to you”
“Can you hear yourself now Leo? They are my friends how could you say such a thing? It was my fault I left without informing them…it was my fault I didn’t even call for once they deserve to be angry at me Leo…I abandoned them and didn’t even try to do anything about it”
“But they don’t want you don’t you understand? Look at how they are treating you…you don’t deserve any of that…your parents forced you there you didn’t cause you wanted to”
“So…you’re telling me to just leave things like that without even trying to fix it? You sound so childish right now do you know that?”
“I’m being childish now? They’re the one giving you cold shoulder”
“And it’s normal they do…you won’t understand anyway”
“And why won’t I? They’re my friends also…but things have changed Mercury…it’s been years…we can’t force things that are not meant to be…if it ain’t meant to be then it’s not meant to be…don’t force it”
“What are you trying to say right now? You know what Leo I think you’re just being selfish…how could you say that for someone who has spent almost all his life with them…you’re really surprising me you know”
“I’m trying to save you from looking like a fool here”
“If that’s how I’m gonna get my friends back then so be it…let me be the fool…I won’t stand here and listen to your nonsense” she said about going out but Leo stops her.
“Uranus listen this isn’t right…look at it too…we just arrived and we’re already fighting…I’m just trying to make things work here…if it won’t work out here then let’s just go back…we have many friends over there also…let’s go back to our lives in Italy where there isn’t any problems…I don’t like us fighting like this”
“I can’t do that Leo…I’m finally back here after many years and now you want me to go back? This is my home Leo…my parents are here…my friends are here…my life belongs here also..I’m leaving to no where I’m sorry…?” She said and Leo sighs.
“Ura look I’m…sorry I…?”
“You should know better Leo…how I’ve always wanted to come back home…how much I’ve always missed it…how much I wanted to be here…to be with them again…six years passed…and I endured it leo…I wouldn’t let this chance pass me by…I’m ain’t going back Leo…?” She said and Leo hugs her.
“I’m sorry Ura…I…i didn’t consider your feelings…I only thought of myself…I don’t wanna lose you and that makes me say some silly things…?”
“If this is about earlier then forget it…it couldn’t be helped anyway”
“I love you so much Ura…please promise you won’t leave me…don’t hurt me Ura…I can’t take it” he said hugging her tightly.
Mercury couldn’t say anything and just stayed in his arms.
I’m sorry Leo but…I can’t promise you that…I want to be happy also…but I feel…my happiness is not with you…I’m sorry…? She thought to herself hugging him back.
LATER AT NIGHT.
“So, did you guys sort things out?” Candy asked taking in the pasta while Mercury just torture hers with the fork.
“Leo really loves you you know” she says again putting the chicken in her mouth while Mercury dropped the fork and sighs.
“I don’t need to hear that from you you know”
“I’m just stating the fact in case you forgot”
“Everyone tells me that everytime that I don’t even dare think of forgetting”
“What’s your problem Mec? What exactly do you want? You’ve got a perfect boyfriend-” she stops when Mercury glare at her.
“Well maybe not perfect but a boyfriend who loves you so much…why can’t you just be contend with that and move on with your life…when are you gonna say yes? He has proposed to you going to a month now”
“It isn’t enough you forced me to date him now you want me to marry him?”
“Listen Mec-”
“Just eat your chicken if you’re gonna keep saying rubbish” she put the chicken in her mouth.
Candy sighs and drop the chicken.
“Is it hard dating him?”
“It isn’t hard and it’s true he’s treating me well but…I feel guilty…if I continue dating him it’ll surely hurt him a lot later and I break up now…it’ll sure hurt him a lot also…he trusts me so much that I’m so confused and don’t know what to do…he has been there for me ever since the beginning and have always shown me his feelings…he didn’t give up even though I told him to several times and even pushed him away…he continued waiting and loving me…believe me I tried to love him back also…I tried to reciprocate the feelings but it’s too hard and I can’t do it…I only love him as a friend Candy…I don’t wanna lose him or hurt him…he’s a good person but…everytime I see him…I hate myself for doing this to him…I just want him to be happy…but then I…wanna be happy also…what should I do Candy…I’m so confused and it hurts”
“I understand where you’re coming from Mercury…but think about it…you two have been doing well in Italy even if you just only love him as a friend…you’ve been trying your best and even maybe you’ve been falling for him cause I know you two were really happy together…but then as long as you arrived here…you started thinking all these…why? Why does it hurts? Have you asked yourself that Mercury?…what are you thinking in this heart of yours?” She asked and Mercury looks away.
“Whatever you’re thinking Mec…I promise you it won’t be easy…and not only Will you hurt Leo here…you’re gonna hurt some other people also…for now…don’t even think of doing anything stupid and just focus on the things on ground. You’ve been doing well for the past six years…I’m sure you can do better” candy said and resume eating her Chicken.
Mercury stares at her for a while before standing and heading to her room.
Candy shakes her head and focus her attention on the chicken.
“Right! I’m sleeping over tonight” candy said to Mercury who seems not to care.
Mercury went to her room and lie on the bed.
What candy said rings in her brain.
She remembers how Leo has always took her out in Italy and always made sure she’s happy.
How much he expressed his love for her and so many more he has done.
He even promised not to touch her without her permission and never did.
She can’t bear to hurt such a great guy like him.
She remembers earlier at the wedding also.
The cold face Clark gave her.
How he pushed her away from him.
How he wore the garter on her.
How his touch had so much effect on her.
How she saw him hurting earlier.
Perhaps is it because of her?
How the lady took him away.
How insecure Leo is about losing her.
How she wants more of Clark touching her.
How she felt when that lady to him away.
How happy she was when she found out he isn’t the one marrying Carly.
How much she has missed him calling her his planet girl.
How much she regrets not telling him how she felt before that happens six years ago.
How much she regrets not admitting her feelings sooner.
She wanted to call but her parents took her phone away from her.
They surely made sure she cut all ties with them.
How Leo has tried to take away her pain all through the years.
How he has never for once left her side.
Even when she avoided him on purpose…he never gave up.
When they fought..even if she’s in the wrong he always apologizes first.
She’s torn.
She’s confused
She hug the pillow to herself and weep silently.
