He didn’t actually had the best life ever since his father left since he had to live with a step mother who hates his guts.
He could do nothing but just take all the pain that comes his way.
She was certainly not the best mother.
She was certainly not a caring mother.
But she was all he had.
It’s true he indeed hated her.
But who is he deceiving…in a corner of his heart he knows…he had that love for her.
He has always wanted to escape from her.
He has always wanted her from his back.
But he never wanted it like this.
He never hated her to that extent of wishing that to her.
He never…wished for her to leave him…forever.
How’s he gonna cope now?
How will he live now?
He has no one except her.
He knows no one except her.
Nobody got him like she did.
She was cruel to him but…he never wanted this for her.
“Clark…?” Mercury mutters.
He sat on the floor…lost.
Mercury squat in front of him tears streaming down her face.
“She’s gone Mercury…what do I do now..?” He said staring at nothing.
Mercury wraps her arms around him.
“I have no one now…I’m all alone” he said again as the tears stroll down her face.
“You’ve got us…we’re here for you Clark”
Clark only let the tears flow down his cheeks freely.
Earlier last night at the prom, he received a call from his mother’s P.A Mr Sam.
She was on her way to the Prom when the accident happened.
Both her and the driver was rushed to the hospital but it was too later.
They gave up the ghost before they could reach there.
Till this moment it still surprise him.
Why would this happened suddenly?
Why?
Why would she just die…just like that.
He can’t seem to wrap his head over it.
Everything is just confusing.
He doesn’t know what to think.
Since the incident, he hasn’t slept a wink.
May people has come to greet him even his grandfather he has seen for almost five years now.
Relations he didn’t knew he had.
And the most painful thing.
They’re already planing on taking over her company when they’re still just having her funeral.
How cruel can people be?
What’s left for him now?
He never imagined this to happen to him.
How is he gonna survive now?
“My head hurts…?” He mutters and Mercury disengage.
“Will you take a kip?”
“Should I get you something?”
“Stay here…I’ll be back” she stood up and he held her hand immediately.
“Promise me you’ll be back…” He looks at her tear eyed.
“I’ll be back Clark…I’m not…I’m never leaving you”
He nodded releasing her hand.
“Wait here…?” She leaves.
He rested his head on his knees as he hugged it to himself.
“Get up” he heard and looks up.
“You have no time for this…she’s gone already and sulking won’t solve anything…right now…you have important tasks to do” the old man said.
Clark looks up to his so called grandfather in disbelief.
“I thought she was your daughter…the only child you have?” He asked.
“Sure she was…but it’s useless crying over a split milk…we should focus on the matters on ground now…she probably wouldn’t rest in peace if we just let some power thirsty idiots take over what she has been working all her life for…you have work to do son…you have to carry on her legacy”
“I thought she was heartless…but you just prove me wrong…you lack feelings…you aren’t human” he shakes his head and excuse himself.
The old man shakes his head looking at him.
“Sooner or later you’ll understand…you’re just being stubborn for now…?” He said to himself.
Clark looks everywhere for Mercury but couldn’t find her.
“Where is she? She said she wouldn’t leave” he began to panic searching everywhere.
“Mother…?” He heard her voice and sighs in relief.
“Just listen to us…we’re doing this for your own good” he heard Mr Jordan’s voice.
They were at the entrance of the stairs.
Clark hid and eavesdrop on their conversation.
“How is this any of my good? How could you think of doing this immediately he lost his mother? That is just too cruel” Mercury said.
“Everything is already a disaster with his mother dying…can you see those relatives of his? They look power thirsty and would do anything just to get what they want. They don’t care about the deceased…they only want her money!”
“Yes darling…staying with him will bring you nothing good…he’s helpless..?”
“But you can always help him mom? You guys are close with his late mother aren’t you? Mom Dad…Clark doesn’t deserve any of this…please don’t do this”
“Look no matter how we explain you’ll never understand…you can stay with him till the funeral ends but just know you’re leaving the country as soon as all this ends…”
“You can’t do this…this isn’t fair…mom say something”
“We’ll talk about this more at home…just go for now..he must need you by his side”
“Yeah go comfort him…since you won’t be able to do that when you leave” Mr Jordan said.
Clark throat felt dried up where he stood and his legs started shaking.
He probably heard wrong…he probably seen wrong…?
He walks out of there not believing all he just heard.
No.
That can’t be.
His mother was really close with the Jordan’s.
They won’t just cut ties with him just because his mother is gone.
They won’t just…?
His head hurts so much.
He couldn’t take everything happening.
His mother gone…?
His greedy relatives trying to take what’s not theirs.
His grandfather trying to put the company’s responsibilities on him.
The Jordan’s betrayal.
Now Mercury leaving…?
He slumps and eventually fell into unconsciousness.
Mercury couldn’t believe everything that just happened.
How could her parents be so cruel?

Were they always this cruel?
How could they do this to her and Clark?
They should be his strength not the one bringing him down.
And the most painful thing…she knew she can’t do anything
Whatever her parents said is final…?
She’s helpless just like Clark.
She slump to her feet and broke down in tears.
She feels so hurt and betrayed by her own parents.
For the first time…she really hates them and wished they weren’t her parents.
TWO DAYS LATER.
Clark opens his eyes slowly and took in the environment he’s in.
“Oh you’re finally awake?” The nurse said and the guys ran to him.
“Clark?” Danny hugs him.
“How are you?”
“Can you recognize me?”
“Do you feel any pain?”
“Should we call a doctor?”
“Is it still hurting?” They all showered him with questions.
Clark wasn’t really listening to all that.
His eyes was busy searching for her.
“Where is she?” He mutters.
“Who?”
“Is…is she gone?” He asked looking around.
“If you’re talking about Carly she just went to get some wat_”
Clark rushed out from the bed removing the drip.
“Hey what are you doing?!” Olive asked holding him but he whips him away.
He rushed to the door and he bump into Carly who was coming in.
“Clark?!” The bottle dropped from her hand and she wrapped her hands around him tightly.
“You’re finally awake” she cries on his shoulder.
Clark got her away from him rushing out of the room.
“Clark!” She called.
“Oh oh oh you better run after him…he’s not supposed to be doing that” the nurse said and the guys ran out calling out his name.
“Clark wait up!”
Clark ran around the hospital looking for her.
“No…she can’t just leave me just like that…she can’t…?” He ran outside the hospital with tears over his face now.
Not seeing her he stops panting.
“PLEASE! where…where are you…?” He mutter in a tired voice.
The guys caught up to him.
“What’s wrong Clark?! Why are you running? Who are you looking for?” Danny asked holding him.
“Hey are you okay? Why are you doing this Clark?” Olive also asked.
“You’re scaring us…?” Leo chipped in.
Clark looks at them.
Right…he still have them…they are his friends.
They won’t ever leave his side nor betrayed him.
They’re still here with him.
“Olive…Dan…leo…?” He mutters as her hugs them weeping.
“I’m sorry…?” He mutters.
“Please Clark…I know it hurts but please…stop scaring us…?” Danny said and he nodded.
“Let’s go back” Leo said and they all turned to see Carly looking at them with tearing eyes.
“Carly…?” He mutters and went to hug her.
Carly weep bitterly on his shoulder.
LATER IN THE ROOM.
“She left me…?” Clark mutters.
“You have to be strong Clark…she may have left but…you still have us” Olive said.
“Yeah…we’re always here for you…I know we can’t match up to her but we’ll always try our best” Leo also said.
“We’re always here for you…?” Carly smiles and he nodded
“Thanks guys…?” He smiles back.
“By the way…Mercury had to leave early cause she had to go somewhere with her parents…she promised to see you tomorrow” Danny said.
“Tomorrow?”
“Uh?”
“Okay…?”
Guess she haven’t left yet…? He thought.
“Guys…I wanna go home…please process my discharge”
“So soon…you should rest more you’ve been unconscious for two days now”.
“Two days?”
“If you wanna go home then we would process it…I will stay with you” Carly said holding his hand.
“Thanks…?”
Clark’s mother is dead.
Mercury is leaving also.
Is this too much for him to bear?
