CHAPTER 17
~MORGAN’S MANSION~
Mrs Morgan invited the Jordan’s to a dinner in her house.
Mr Jordan wasn’t able to come so only Mercury and her mother came.
They all settled at the dining as the maids set up the meals.
Mrs Morgan tries as much as possible to act like a caring mother and Mrs Jordan wouldn’t stop praising her for her love and care for his son.
Mercury and Clark haven’t spoke to each other after that argument they had.
Ever since they arrived at Clark’s house they avoided each other glances and has been awfully quiet.
Only the Mothers did the talking.
Whenever questions were asked they only nodded and smile.
“I’m really glad to have you both here today…it’s such a pity Mr Jordan couldn’t make it” Mrs Morgan said munching her food.
“Yeah he was set to come but he suddenly had an emergency at the hospital…so we had to come alone…we can always set up another dinner where all will be present” Mrs Jordan said and Mrs Morgan smiles.
“Mercury dear…hope you like the food” she suddenly asked Mercury whose mind wasn’t really there.
She didn’t heard her.
Clark hit her legs beneath the table to get her attention and she flinched.
“What” she frowns at Clark.
Clark looks away and face his food.
“Is there a problem dear?”
“Uh? Problem? None…why?”
“You seems lost? You know what I discovered you two aren’t talking much…did you had a fight? Clark did you do something to her?”
“Me? ” he looks at Mercury.
“No…we’re good..right Mec?” He hits her legs again.
“Yeah we’re fine….sooo fine…we have no probs at all” she faked a smile.
“Clarky… you don’t mind showing me around do you?” Mec smiles at Clark who glares at her.
“I think that would be great…Clark show your fiancee around” his mother said and he nodded.
“Excuse us then…” He stood leaving while Mercury follows him.
They both walk around not uttering a word to each other.
Mercury was ahead while Clark was behind her.
They came near a certain place where the dogs were kept and they start barking on sighting Mercury.
“Well fu-ck you too” she said to the barking dogs picking up a pebble at throw it at their cage.
“You think I’ll let you get away after chasing me the last time uh?” She said throwing the pebbles at them as they continued barking at her.
Clark huffs where he was standing.
He took out his phone to make a call but then saw a reflection of someone spying at them.
“fu-ck!” He mutters.
His mother must have sent him to spy on them.
She never really trust him.
He kept his phone in his pocket and look at Mercury still shouting at the dogs.
Is she stupid? He thought and went to her.
“Stop it already” he said calmly.
“You just continue doing your own fu-cking thing” she lashed at him and turns to leave but he held her back wrapping his arms tightly around her.
The guy spying at them smiles then leaves.
Clark leaves her and she didn’t hesitate to slap him.
He held her face.
“Oh my!” She gasp covering her mouth with her palm.
“Are…are you okay? I’m sorry I just…?”
Clark stares at her for a while before finally leaving.
“Clark wait…I didn’t mean…to…?” She ran after him but he suddenly stop facing her almost making her fell.
“See I get it that you don’t like me but as long as we are in this bondage of a thing called engagement you’ll have to learn how to like being with me cause we’ll always have to stick near to each other every fu-cking time alright?”
“Alright I’m sorry…does it hurt?”
“What do you expect? My face is all red can’t you see? It’s better you stop this your attitude thing…You’re too crude for a girl if you keep this attitude up no man will marry you” he said and she scoffs.
“well you don’t have to worry about a man marrying me or not it’s my fu-cking problem you don’t expect me to just watch you molest me”
“Wow…seriously…is that what you could arrived at? Molesting you? Don’t turn me to a fu-cking pervert..it was only a hug no big deal”
“Sure it may not be a big deal since you’ve done it countless times with different girls but I’m different…I won’t tolerate you doing whatever you like with me just because I’m engaged to you”
“You aren’t my type girl…and don’t worry this is just for a while I promise you it’s gonna end soon”
“Whatever…just follow me” she held his hand taking him to his room.
“Sit”
“I can do that myself”
“Unless you wanna receive another one just sit…I’ll take the responsibility of my action” she sat him down and took the first aid kit which was beside the bed.
Clark stares at her as she apply ointment on his face and she squirm uncomfortably with his eyes on hers.
“I heard everything…I must have misunderstood you…?” He finally said.
“Is it that hard to apologize?”
She asked but he kept mute.
She sighs.
“You see it’s not like I hate you…I just don’t really like you much”
“That’s the same thing..?”
“No it’s not. I…feel the same way you feel for me”
“How do I feel for you?”
“You probably know best…I’m not you”
“You don’t know how I feel but you said you feel the same way for me. What if I have dirty feelings for you? Does that mean you feel the same?” He asked with an arch brow.
His eyes still on hers.
Mercury bit her lower lips not knowing what to say.
“I didn’t mean it that way…?”
Clark pulled both her hands down making it rest on both his shoulders as their face was just inches apart.
“Then how do how do you mean it? Do you know how I feel towards you?”
“You probably don’t really like me much like I don’t…?” She trailed off
“Did I ever said I hated you?”
“But you don’t like me either”
“How would you know that? What if i_” The door suddenly opened diverting both their attention there.
“Umm guys…sorry to disturb you but…Mars dear we have to go now” Mercury’s mother said as she entered the room.
“Oh…sure mom…she removed her hands and drop the ointment.
“See you in school…goodbye ma’am” Clark said.
Mrs Jordan smiles at him and exit the room.
Mercury looks at him one more time before also exiting the room.
Clark looks at his face in the mirror and exclaimed.
“She hits hard…it’s damn red”

“If you’re here to lambaste me also it’s better you keep it I’m not In the mood for that” Mercury said as kings took a sit beside her.
“Have you seen Carly recently? She looks sick? The guys are being too hard on her”
“Don’t talk to me about her”
“So you’re gonna keep being angry at her? What happened to your friendship?”
“It ended the moment she set me up…I went through all that she’s going through remember?”
“Try to be forgiving…?”
“I wanna remain angry for now”
“Really…seems I’ll have to continue being angry at you too then…I was gonna put my anger on hold before but seems I don’t need to do that”
“Oh come on kings don’t be an ass…let her suffer a little…”
“Mec…?”
“Whatever…u can forgive her if she ask for my forgiveness”
“You both are stubborn”
“You went to her before you came to me?”
“Let’s go eat” he stood up.
“What a rascal” she stood up and follow him.
~AT THE CAFETERIA~
Mercury and kings sat on their normal seat with their foods in the table.
Carly was in one corner eating alone as she has been for a week now.
She’s practically a loner and an outcast now.
Mercury glanced at her, somehow she felt bad.
She faced her food.
Jest then a sudden noise arouse in the cafeteria.
“OMG IT’S DANNY!!”
“He’s damn handsomeeeeeeee!!!”
“I really wanna date him…”
“Look look Olive is soooo hot…I love him”
“Olive is hot but Clark is hotter!!”
“Clark you’re soo cuteee”
“Hey our lovely fiancee…?” Danny played Mercury’s back.
“I wonder how many people I’m engaged to?”
“You look…bored”
“Yeah thanks to someone I don’t have friends” she said and Clark glare at her.
“It isn’t my fault nobody likes you or wanna be your friends” Clark replied while Mercury rolled her eyes.
“You guys shouldn’t start another fight here…bae I’ll take that” Danny said collecting the food Mercury was about putting in her mouth.
“Hey eat yours!” She spank him while Danny giggles.
“Hey kings you’re the one hanging around our fiancee here uh?”
“She’s just friend…I don’t like her like that” kings quickly replied and Mercury give him a look.
“So I’m not likable…you can’t like me in the romantic way” she frowns.
“Mec why are you angry? Do you want him to like you like that? Do you like him? Remember you fiance is here”
“Screw you all…?” She mutters continuing eating her food.
Carly glance at them as they chat happily.
She really envies Mercury…Clark look at her direction and their eyes met.
She quickly take off her eyes while Clark did also.
The MKL BEAUTIES arrives as usual and Carly sighs.
“Hey snitch…done eating?” Kia asked while Carly kept mute.
“Do you have that your mouth there just for decoration or eating…I’m not asking myself the question you know” she said again while Carly stood up.
“Excuse me…?” She made to leave but was pulled back landing her butt on the floor.
“What do you want?” She breathe out.
“I want you to suffer!”
“Can’t you just leave me alone?! All of you should just leave me alone! Is what I did such a big deal? Am I ever the first person to ever lie? Am I ever the first person to ever betray my best friend?! Why do you all hate me so much? Don’t you lie also? Don’t you have your own dirty secret also?! Are you all clean? Are you all perfect?! Why do you derived joy in hurting and bullying me everytime?! I refused to be bullied or judge by you all!!” She shouted at their faces but Mia only landed her a slap.
She held her face with her hair…all over her face.
“How dare you little…you…are growing some wings aren’t you? Why are you proud of what you did?! Are you?! Evil snitch…people like you are not allowed to be here in MAJESTIC HIGH alright?!!”
“And you think people like you are allowed in this school either?” Olive said making everyone surprised.
He stood up and went over to them.
“What?…?”
“I’m asking…people like her are not allowed..what about people like you?”
“What’s wrong with people like me? I did nothing wrong”
“Do you really think so?” He looks at Carly.
“Slap her back” he said to her and she looks at him with surprise.
“What…? She mutters.
“I’m a gentleman…I don’t hit women or I would have done it for you..?”
“Olive…what are you doing? This is _”
“Are you slapping or not?” Olive asked cutting Mia short.
Carly looks at him in disbelief for a while before finally facing Mia.
“You won’t dare it…?” She glared.
Now Carly looks determined as she stares at Mia before landing a slap on her cheek which went red immediately.
Mia face turned red with anger immediately.
“Bitch…!” She charged at Carly grabbing her hair while Carly grabbed hers also.
Olive went behind Mia and held her two hands now Carly could torture her as she wants.
Kia, Lia or other students couldn’t demure interfere as they just watched.
Danny Sat where he was grinning widely while Clark and Mercury just watched.
“This is interesting…?” Danny grins.
Satisfied, Carly leave Mia and Olive released her hand.
“You shouldn’t let people trample on you anyhow…you don’t own her any explanation on why you did what you did…since there was a reason anyway…I don’t see any reason why you let yourself be bullied because of it…unless you regret it anyway”
“I don’t regret it…everything I did…I know I’m not right but…it was worth it” Carly replied.
Olive moves closer to her and whispers in her ears.
“You really deserved being bullied…i hate people like you the most” he smirks while Carly just stares.
He faced Mia.
“You look awful…you should go take care of yourself you aren’t pretty to look at like this” he said and went back to the table.
“Wow bro…that was amazing…?” Danny said as he hits his chest lightly.
“Are you satisfied now? Make sure to keep your promise” Olive said.
“What are you two up to? And Olive what was that you just did?” Mercury asked with arch brows.
“You don’t need to know…?” Danny replied instead and Clark stood up.
Mia was about charging at Carly again but Clark held her back.
“She’s mine to deal with” Clark glares at her before taking Carly away.
“Well I’m lost here” Mercury said.
“I feel like you guys are planning something behind my back” she said again.
“Just don’t think of hurting her or I’ll kill you” she finished standing up.
“Umm…wait for me Mec” kings ran after her.
“Tell me Carl…did you really do those things you were accused of?” Clark asked immediately they reached a secluded place.
She only nodded.
“Why did you do it?”
She kept mute.
“Because you like me?” He asked more like a question.
“Clark i_”
“You’re sorry? Right?”
She kept mute with her head down fiddling with her fingers.
Clark stares at her for a while before deciding to leave.
Carly runs to him nd hugs him from behind.
Entwining her hands tightly around his waist.
They stays like that before Clark finally speaks up.
“Are you the one…behind those text messages?” He asked hoping to get a negative answer but as usual she kept quiet.
“I’ll take your silence as a yes” he said again hoping she would just utter a word but she never said anything.
Clearly pissed off he removed her hands and just walked away while Carly went to her knees and broke down in tears.
