FLASHBACK
~15 DAYS AGO (CARLY’S HOUSE)~
Mercury was finally getting some sleep but just then she heard some movements.
Opening her eyes she saw Carly sneaking out of the room and became curious as to why she was doing that.
Letting her curiosity get the best of her, she also sneaks out but however she lost her.
Not long after she heard some sounds, tracing the sound she found herself peeping through a door which was silently opened.
It was actually Carly’s father study.
Carly was kneeling while her father stood in front of her smoking cigarette.
Why is she kneeling? she thought
“Take off your clothes?” Carly’s father said and Mercury gasp.
Her clothes?
She looks at Carly who was now on her feet taking off her top.
Carly’s father also started taking off his trousers belt.
Mercury couldn’t stop gasping as she cover her mouth with her hand.
She mistakenly missed her step making a sound.
Carly looked back and Mercury ran to the room before she was caught.
“She’s gone” Carly said to her father as he just nodded.
Her top wasn’t on her now.
She was only in her pyjamas trousers and bra.
She lays quietly on her father’s desk while he father with the belt in his hand started thrashing her with it.
Carly held the desk tightly closing her eyes as the harsh belt met with her delicate skin.
After thrashing her to his satisfaction, he withdrew and Carly stood up wearing back her top.
Her back hurts like mad.
But she’s used to it.
“Time is running out…get him as soon as possible” his father said dismissing her.
“Good night father” she said leaving his study.
She went to the head maid’s room.
Upon seeing her, the head maid sighs and went to get the first aid kit.
Carly took off her top while the head maid apply treatment with none of them saying a word to each other.
“Poor you…?” The head maid laments rubbing her back.
Carly wears back her top and stood up.
“Good night Ma Dinah” Carly kissed her cheek and went out.
The head maid looks at her with pity as she left.
“When will she be free from all these torture…?” She sighs.
Carly’s father, Honourable George Johnson is an influential politician.
He’s known as an ambitious being always getting anything he wants by all means.
He works with high people in the society and is always power hungry.
No matter how much power he gets he always wanted more.
He was greedy and that led him to make a mistake which led to the breaking of his Pathnership with the Morgan.
He adopted Carly when she was fifteen and has always used her for all kinds of business.
His real family are based in abroad and only Carly stays with him.
Carly was the initial financee of Clark but due to some mistakes he made the Morgan’s terminated the partnership and went for the Jordan with more greater power.
He regretted ever betraying the Morgan’s and tries to partner with them again but he was too late.
Losing in both ways, he got frustrated and pours his frustrations out on Carly by telling her to sed-uce Clark by all means.
He sends her to MAJESTIC HIGH so she can carry out her mission by breaking his engagement with the Jordan’s daughter which he finds out would also be attending the school and seducing Clark.
Anytime he asks how it’s going and he gets a negative answer.
He beats her.
Lock her up.
And starve her.
Carly is used to it.
She has been enduring that two months after she was adopted.
She went to MAJESTIC HIGH to find out the real fiancee of Clark break the apart, sed-uce Clark and please her father perhaps she’d be free from the torture.
But coincidentally, the two came to the school the same day and became friends.
Her father showed her the Jordan’s daughter picture a week later and she discovers it was her friend.
She had no choice but to betray her.
She had to get Clark by all means.
So, she thought the first thing to do is make Clark hate her.
Make every one hate her…perhaps the engagement would be ruined.
…even set her up to make him hate her.
She did that at the party drugged her and tells her his secret.
Making Mercury reveals that.
With that, Clark will surely hate her.
Carly went back to her room and met Mercury lying on the bed facing the other side.
She sighs.
She sat on the bed.
“Mercury…?” She called.
“Are you sleeping?” She got no answer.
“Are you really sleeping?”
“Yes I’m sleeping…?” She finally answers.
“Can you wake up for me? I have something to discuss with you”
“Please….?”
Mercury reluctantly sat on the bed.
She looks at Carly who offers her a faint smile.
“Thank you…?”
“What do you wanna say?” She asked.
“I like Clark…?” She said and Mercury frowns.
“I know that…?”
“But I have no chance with him”
Mercury kept mute.
“Can you help me Mercury?….help me make Clark like me”
“Carly…?”
“You may not know this but I came to that school because of him. I fell for him the first time I met him Mercury…I couldn’t stop thinking about him so I had to transfer to MAJESTIC HIGH because of him” she held her hand.
“I know you can help me…just make him look at me for sometime…I only want him for a while”
“But….I can’t do that…Carly it’s left to him to like you or not. I promise I’ll stop being mean to him but you have to get him yourself”
“Is it possible? Will he like me?”
“I can’t help you Carl”
“Why?”
“Because….I’m his fiancee…? I’m engaged to him Carl…so what you’re asking me is impossible…I can’t do it”
They went silent. Both lost in thought.
“But you hate him. Just let me be with him for a while…I know you can do that” she broke the silence.
“Carl…?”
“Just for a while…?”
Mercury sighs.
“Can I ask you something first?”
“What is it…?”
“Are…? She paused closing her eyes before opening it again.
“No….is your dad…sleeping…with you?” She locked her gaze with hers.
Carly looks away…leaving her hand.
“He’s not right…?”
Carly smiles.
“Of course not…?”
“But earlier I…?” She bit her lip.
“Mercury…my dad isn’t sleeping with me…I don’t know what you saw but I promise you he is not”
“I love my dad Mec and he cares about me a lot too…?”
“But you guys don’t seem close…earlier at the dining you weren’t talking and I saw him….taking off his belt while you took off your…?”
“I know what you’re thinking Mec…I’m sure you also notice we weren’t the only one there…Ma Dinah was there also”
“Ma Dinah?”
“Hmm…my Nanny…she was in the room also…actually I…was being treated”
“Treated?”
“It’s a family issue Mec…I don’t feel like sharing…I’m sorry”
“Ohhh okay…if you say so…?”
“Dad taking off his belt was a misunderstanding and a coincidence…I promise you”
“I believe you” Mercury smiles.
“Sooo…about Clark…?”
Mercury smiles and hugs her.
“I support you Carl…and I’ll help you”
“Thanks V…this means a lot to me”

COLD’S SPECIAL CLASSROOM
The fourof them all sat not saying anything to themselves.
Leo was absent he left immediately they left the Hall earlier.
Danny keeps looking from Mercury to Clark then from Clark to Mercury.
“Won’t you guys really make up? Are you gonna continue like this?” Danny asked but he got no response.
“Is this a lover quarrel?” Olive speak up but Clark only glare at him.
“Okay guys we really need to settle this….Clark and Mercury you guys have to make up” Danny said now with a serious tone.
“You didn’t have to slap her you know” Clark finally said.
“What”
“I get it that you were angry but that was harsh of you…wasn’t she your friend?”
“What are you insinuating right now? That I’m the bad one?”
“Truth be told you’re the one at fault here…you caused all this from the beginning”
“I was just_”
“You told me then you were not my fiancee did you forgot…you clearly said that yourself but now what…you dared blame her for doing that you’re unbelievable you know”
“Just what is your problem with me Clark…it’s okay for her to lie but it’s not for me? Why are you so angry at me? You won’t even let me explain myself”
“What’s there to explain? You deceived me…you played me for a fool. At least she was different…I could feel her sincerity”
“Well then suit yourself! I don’t care anymore you like her then date her…just leave me the hell alone I’m sick and tired of trying to explain myself to you…you can just make her your fu-cking fiancee…not like I wanna be that shit anyway”
“Guess what? I would like that…I never wanted a stuck up crazy girl like you as my fiancee fu-ck you Mercury”
“fu-ck fu-ck you too Clark!” She hissed and went out of there.
“Shit!” Clark groaned taking his seat.
“You know I don’t get why you’re so angry at her?”
“How can you say that when she deceived us all?”..
“Carly also deceived us but…you don’t seem angry but instead understand her…why can’t you just do that with Mercury also…she must have her reasons for doing that”
“Well then fu-ck her reasons…she played me for a fool”
“Bro you really need to calm down” Olive said.
“Are you guys on her side now? Why? You like her?uh?”
“See we’re also angry she deceived us but you’re taking it too much…she doesn’t deserve any of this…it seems you’re pouring all your anger and frustrations on her” olive said again.
“Yeah man…it’s unfair to her…to be frank here she’s also a victim”
“I can’t believe you guys…victim? Seriously…?”
“Clark…Mercury didn’t revealed your secret intentionally…she was set up”
“What are you guys saying? I watched the video where she said it herself…we watched it together”
“She was drugged that night…by Carly”
“Carly set her up man”
“What…you expect me to believe that?”..
“That’s the problem with you Clark…why can’t you believe it? She went to your house to explain things to you but you chased her out…you won’t talk to her and keep blaming her and now you don’t even believe she was set up…do you really hate her that much or you really like Carly and you’re angry she isn’t your fiancee?wake up man…you’re becoming annoying now…believe it or not Carly drugged her and made her reveal that okay?” Danny lashed at him while he just kept mute.
“Are you sure about that Danny?”
“While you were busy blaming her we all here looked into it and found out the truth…your so called Carly you adored so much did that to her!” Olive replied.
Clark couldn’t believe Carly could do such a thing.
She’s such a sweet girl with an innocent personality and more so Mercury is her friend…can she really set her up like the guys said? he doubted.
Mercury entered the class looking all grumpy.
Her day has been ruined already and she just wished it ended quickly.
She entered the class and saw series of gifts on her desk.
“Mercury…you’re back”
“Are you okay? Do you want a drink?”
“You look so pretty…what cream do you use?”
” I always knew you were special…you must feel so wronged ”
She went to her table and pack all the gifts dumbing them in the thrash bin.
The students gasp.
“Get lost” she gritted and went to her sit as the students started murmuring.
The day isn’t really going well for her. She decided to skip classes.
She passed by the dancing practice room and saw Carly dancing strenuously as usual.
She’s skipping classes also.
She went to the music room and sat there.
Just then she felt a presence behind her.. Looking back she met with Leo’s eyes staring blankly at her.
“Leo…?” She stood up.
“Hey ” he said simply and turns to leave.
“I heard you found the CCTV footage….thank you”
“OK” he said leaving.
“I’m….sorry…i didn’t mean to lie to you Leo..believe me I had my reasons”
“Can I even be angry at you? I had no chance from the beginning…and stupid me…I hoped for something”
“That’s why I said you shouldn’t…like me that way” she kept her head down.
“Now it’s my fault?”
“No that’s not what I meant…I just_”
“You hurt me Mercury…I never expected this…I never imagined it. It’s just so sudden…and it’s ha-rd for me to accept…I’m sorry but I wished you could leave me alone for now”
“Why are you all being mean to me? You won’t even let me explain…you all won’t give me a chance to talk…do you know how hurt I was when you left me like that…out of everyone I expected you to at least believe in me…I tried explaining but you won’t even give me the chance…I feel wronged too…I feel hurt too I trusted you but you didn’t…you didn’t trust me Leo…I was left all alone…you left when I needed you ”
“Is that it? You exposed my friend’s secret like that and you expect me to support you? Is that even possible? If it were you would you believe me?”
“But I would at least listen to your excuses…I wouldn’t have shunned you off like you did…I would have heard you out!”
“You know what fu-ck it Mercury…not like you care anyway if you did you wouldn’t have played me for a fu-cking fool…I’m outta here” he spat leaving.
“You think you’re the only one hurt…I’m hurt also…and I don’t care anymore…you’re all the same…all of you are all the same…you can all just get lost…I don’t need any of you!!!” She shouted after him as he leaves.
“They’re all bad…I’m not only the bad one…?” She muttered in a breaking voice.
Carly Is being abused by her father.
She’s determined to get Clark.
Clark is unnecessary angry at Mercury.
Leo is also angry at her.
She was just helping a friend does she really deserves to be hated for keeping her real identity?
