I ran to Angels room where everyone was in, what I saw baffled me, is like my dream is coming through, no this can’t be true, I rushed in and tell them to call the doctor immediately, then went to Angel and beckon on Henry to help me so we can get her to the bathroom, he did and I removed her clothes.
Did they give you any drugs? I asked her but she said nothing and kept crying, I was angry at her for not responding, that was what she wanted and that’s what she received
Were you given any drugs, I scolded her angrily , seeing that I’m damn serious, she just nodded her head negatively.
She’s just too pathetic I said in a clenched teeth , then I examined her for sometime, I ordered Henry to get me a pain killer drug, and he rushed out immediately and came back with the whole first aid kit, I forced her to take them, she was groaning in pains holding her stomach, my step mum was even making things worst as she just fell on the floor crying like her child is already dead
I looked at her and was disgusted and very irritated by her actions, I was so annoyed that I don’t know when I blurted out in anger.
Mum this is all your fault, so your tears won’t solve any problems, just get something and clean up this place!!
I don’t care what she will do or say, Angel is my only sister, is true that she never treated me humanely but in all I’m not ready to loose her.
I was surprised that my step mum didn’t say anything , rather she stood up and removed the socked bed sheet then get a mop and started mopping her daughters pool of blood
Angel had an abortion, it certain she did it in a quack hospital and now there’s a complications, she has lost nearly two piles of blood, who knows what would have happened if no body came around to check on her, thank God her room was not even locked.
Oh! shut up woman and stop shading this crocodile tears of yours, is passing me off! I warned and asked you earlier but you choose to defend your daughter, now you are shading tears, what for huh! Dad barked at her angrily.
I know things might get worst if I didn’t intervene.
Dad have you called the doctor, please continue to call him because Angel is loosing it.
That throws a panic on him and he called the doctor again who then informed that he is on his way.
Now is certain that the medicine given to Angel has settled down, I told dad and Henry to excuse us, they both left feeling very angry at especially at step mum.
I removed Angels dress and hit a hot bath for her, then pulls her in and bath her thoroughly, she’s still bleeding but has stopped groaning in pains, I brought her out and looked for a cloth in her wardrobe and wore her, two minutes later, the doctor arrived, then came to check on her.
After some time, the doctor wrote out some drugs and tell us to get the drugs immediately.
Henry took the paper and ran to the pharmacy at the next Junction and within an eye blink, he returned with the drugs, the doctor ordered her to take it, she took it and that stopped the bleeding immediately.
We all know she had an abortion but just needed the doctor to confirm that.
What’s wrong with my daughter, step mum asked like she’s ignorant of the fact.
Well, she had an abortion last night, apparently the abortion was carried on her by a quack doctor and now she had some complications.
Exactly my observations, I said inaudibly.
Just give her some foods, and fruits and allow her to rest properly, after two hours give her another drug, then by 4pm bring her to the hospital for proper check up, the doctor said standing up.
Thank you doc, my father said to him as they both exchanged hand shakes and dad walked him to the door.
I saw this coming I said loudly and started living, but was stopped at the sound of my name by mother and daughter in unison.
Chai! Why did I have to say this loud.
Who knows what they will say to me now!!

Please wait up Stacy comes my step mums voice and also Angels, I stopped but didn’t turn around because with the tune of their voices, I already knew what they were going to say, so I don’t wanna look at their faces because it will only remind me of their constant brutality and humiliations towards me, more so looking at their faces will only make me feel that whatever they are going to say sounds as only critics to me.
Is there any more thing that you need me to do for your daughter mum?
The question I asked was quite simple but I asked it in a way that carries authority or emmm! I don’t know a better word to use in describing how my question sounded at that time, they were both taken aback and perplexed at my question that none of them could even say anything at the moment
I waited for some minutes and no words was coming from either mother or daughter
Is something wrong with Angela, has she fallen into some sought of subconsciousness, oh no please God don’t let anything happens to my sister, I turned around to know what’s happening and why they are not saying anything only to discover that every thing was fine just that my words was still a shocker to them.
Thank God that angel is alright, I said in my breath and signed in relief and then said.
Is obvious I have nothing more to do for you now, mum stay with Angel I will come back and check on her before she leaves for the hospital, I said and walked towards the door
Stacy, my step mum called again and this time without answering her I simply turned around with questioning look.
Eeem! We just wanted to say thank you my daughter.
Wow! What a life, I just can’t believe that this woman called me her daughter just now, this life is so simple and is only bad situations that can humble the proud.

oh my gee! I can’t believe big sis is coming from Angels mouth, she is willing to say more but I don’t want them to extend it because my heart has melted already and at the verge of crying now, so if I should allow them say more, I certainly will cry in their presence so I don’t want them to see how soft my heart is or how I have craved for this moment of unity and peace with them, so I just need to stop this conversation right now.
I forced a smile, we are families so I did what is right and what I’m supposed to do… Angel please have some rest now and mum take care of her….I said and walked out from the room
The tears that has settled in my eyes came rolling down my face, I headed towards the kitchen to make sure I avoids dad and Henry but Henry is always too sensitive and he rushed towards me as soon as I entered the kitchen, I avoided my face from him and quickly wiped my tears but is too late already.
Hey big sis, did those two made you cry again, I won’t spare them and I don’t care what condition of that angidevil is in right now I’m going in there to know why, he said and made to leave but I held him back.
Don’t stop me big sis, you have shaded enough tears because of them already, if you were the one in that condition that her daughter is in right now, they won’t dare help you out but will only mock you till you are dead but despite all the evil they have done to you, you still went ahead and helped them out and now they still have the effrontery to make you shade tears? No dad must hear about this, I’m not keeping quite again and please don’t try to stop me big sis, he said and made to leave again.
Is not Henry, they didn’t make me cry, I just decided to cry because the tears came on their own accord, I said not looking at Henry as more tears flooded my eyes.
What do you mean by that, Henry asked sounding unbelievable and confused as well.
Nothing, I only cried because for once mum and sis appreciated my efforts.
Wow! That’s nice big sis, I thought is the other way round I would have thought them a bitter lesson they will ever live to remember, he said and brought out a hanky from his combat short and used it to dry my tears.
Oh what a world, Henry is so different that sometimes I wondered if it was actually my step mum that gave birth to him.
I just hope Angel recovered quickly and the complications should also be a minor one, I said to Henry as we were both doing the chores.
He smiled and just pecked my hand, big sis, I respect and admires you so much, your heart is just like gold, you still wish her well even though she’s been so wicked and mean to you…. I will always be your brother even in my next world if there’s any thing like that. You are extra pure in heart and I wish to marry a woman like you and not a woman like my mom or Angel, he said with all seriousness.
I smiled and hit his head playfully,, oh silly little bro, you are still young to think about marriage right now and meanwhile, you have to be good also so as to marry a good woman
I will be very good and learn more from you too.
We both laughed as he made some funny face.
