Nobody was around at the moment but I decided I should at least let step mum in on what I have observed so that I will be conscience free at least.
And that if there’s anything that needed to be done it should be done on time.
About 20minuites later, step mum came back and by then Angel has gone out for her usual jamb lesson, so is the right opportunity to tell her now.
I went to the kitchen where she was, she was singing, I guess she’s happy.
Mum, please there’s something I did like to tell you…. I said not knowing what response I am to receive from her.
Without looking at me, she asked me to go on.
I signed in relief… Mum, I was thinking that maybe you should ask Angie if she’s pregnant, my voice was a bit shaky.
She looked up at me and bent down to what she was doing again.
Why did you think that Angie is pregnant? That was what next thing I heard her say.
Eem, mum I have been observing her for sometime now, her attitudes and her taste for food has changed completely, even her body is changing every day as well, I said not wanting to go further or tell her about the incident that transpired between I and Angie when I tried asking her if she’s pregnant.
My mum looked at me and tell me that Angie is not pregnant, I have also asked her about this issue but she told me that she isn’t pregnant, so I believe her.
But mum, she might be hiding it from you, why not ask her further, I pressed further
Stacy, the most important thing is that she said she is not pregnant, so I am a woman too, some times our bodies takes another shapes as a growing woman, it happens in life once in a while and you are not exceptional too Stacy.
I stood looking at her speechless, then she said again,
Stacy dear, you see I’m in a good mood so I wouldn’t want you to be push me into been angry, so you can now leave with a voice indicating finality.
I looked thankfully though, because this is one of the decent conversation I have ever had in my life with step mum, I turned to walk away and saw dad and Henry standing at the entrance of the kitchen, I don’t know how long they have been standing there and don’t know if they heard my conversation with mum or not
Hi big sis watsup? Henry called out to me,
I’m cool bro, good afternoon dad, I greeted,
yes darling how have you been?
I’m fine dad
My dad hanged his hand around my neck smiling happily, I could also see a smile on Henrys face too.
Watsup with the Smile father and son I asked Henry.
Henry wanted to say something but dad gave him a keep silent sign.
Hmmm! Something is fishy here, and nobody is telling me anything I said jokingly…. Then we got to the sitting room and dad asked me to guess what.
I’m not really good at guessing but I have always wished for one thing so I said it it out as a guess work.
“You have seen my brother”
Bingo! Henry scremed in excitement and gave me a hug, you are a genius sis, your guess is 100% correct.
Wow! I was so excited that I hugged my dad and also Henry too…. So when is he coming home I ask feeling optimistic.
As soon as he closes for the semester, dad replied beaming with smile
My brother is already in his year2 in high institution, wow that’s a great news, I can’t wait to see him, honestly dad
Yah and he can’t wait to see you too, he has always disturbed me about seeing you almost every day but I have been telling him to wait until the right time dad said smiling.
I don’t get it, does it mean that dad knows where he has been all this while and kept it to himself?
Hey, darling I know what you are thinking right now, I’m sorry for keeping it all this time from you, yes he ran away from home when he was still 8 but I find him 6months later and have been taking care of him, he is with me in Abuja and schooling there also.
But dad! You know how desperate I have been in wanting to meet with my twins and you kept him away from me the whole time?
I’m sorry princess, I didn’t mean to but is because of how things are that made me to act that way but is fine now, your twin is coming home soonest.
Oh I can’t wait to see him dad.
Hope you ain’t gonna forget all about me once he returns big sis? That was coming from Henry, I can sense an innocent jealousy in his voice.
I smiled and held his hands.
Never will I forget you bro, of course you are my best pal and my Lil bro, I said tickling him and he laughed in confidence as he tries to get away from my tickling hands.

So what was you and mum discussing about your sister? My dad asked me unexpectedly.
I was confused and don’t want to spill the bean to dad, I have already received criticism from daughter and mother so I don’t want to add to the number, telling my dad and bro at the same time just seems to me like am gossiping around or poking my nose in what seems not to be my business, what of if angie terminates the pregnancy secretly, that simply means that my dad won’t know and that is realistically tagging me a liar, some one that wishes ill for her sister, no I don’t think I wanna answer a false rumors spreader to my family, I did better shut my trap and think of a lie to tell them, but what lie should I tell because I’m not just very good at telling lies.
All these thoughts was running through my mind, I don’t know a perfect lie to tell so I decided to change the topic…. Eeem! Dad, when are we expecting my brother? I asked hoping to move his attention from the question that he’s readily waiting for the answer
He simply smiled and said, like I said before Stacy, as soon as he vacates for the semester, he’s gonna come down here and see you because, He has missed you very much.
Oh my gosh! This little trick of mine just worked wonders, wow am glad I have crafted him into another conversation, this brightens me up and I smiled showing all my 32
OK dad, I am just too anxious to see him.
You will big sis, is a promise from dad, so just chill and trust him Okey?
OK dude I said still smiling.
My guy, dad called Henry also resting his hands on his shoulder, don’t you think that your sis is dodging a question that I just asked her?
This man is unbelievable I whispered inaudibly, I thought I have tricked him out but here he is coming back to the same thing, hmmmm, I hope Henry pretends to have forgotten what he asked but I know him too well, he’s just a carbon copy of his father, he’s sure going to back him up and even ginger him to ask me further questions.
A penny for my thoughts anyways, because Henry smiled broadly after looking at me for some sec and nodded in agreement

Dad smiled and said, don’t mind her, she doesn’t know that I was once her age and acted the same way that she just deed, I know every tricks and games every one is playing but I’m just allowing time and nature to take its place before I react.
Does it mean that dad knows also? I asked my self hoping not.
Then my mum came out with some fruits salad she prepared for her husband smiling,
immediately she dropped it, my dad said.
Darling, I have asked you something pertaining to your daughters health before right?
Yes honey, we have talked about it before, my step mum said eyeing me so badly.
I felt like turning into hot water and evaporating into tin air because she must think that I’m the one that told my dad about it.
My dad observing the tension that’s been created between I and step mum, he flatly said.
Well I over heard you discussing it with Stacy when I and Henry came in, since it her attitudes or rather conditions has been noticed by two or three people here including Henry, I think you should call her to order or take her to our family doctor for check up, I think the earlier the better
Oh darling, step mum cuts in, please just stop listening and believing rumors, I have asked my daughter and she said she’s not pregnant, so I believe her, and you know as a young lady growing up, addition in body sizes in women is a natural thing, you can ask your soon becoming doctor of a daughter, she said pointing at me and angrily walked away murmuring to her self.
Well I know why I’m saying ooo, because I won’t listen to any pleas when I loose interest in this matter, my dad said aloud so that mum will hear it from her distance.
I can’t believe this woman is so unbelievable…… Well I just hope is body changes just like she mentioned, But one thing I’m certain is that the stubborn angel that I know will go for abortion as soon as she finds out that she’s pregnant. Her mother is to be blamed for it because she’s too ignorant and blindfolded by stupid love for her daughter.
