Derrick wanted to drive to his brother’s place but he thought it was a bad idea so he drove straight to his hospital, immediately he parked his car he called Marcel’s number, but he wasn’t there to pick, he left his phone in the living room, he tried again, and Marcel still didn’t answer….just when he was about giving up Marcel answered the phone.
MARCEL
hey, hey bro
DERRICK
I have been calling you bro
MARCEL
Sorry I was busy inside.
DERRICK
There is fire on the mountain bro
MARCEL
fire? where? how?
DERRICK
okay, Kim is not feeling fine so I slept over at her place to take care of her….i rushed home this morning only to meet a Nollywood drama.
MARCEL
you are confusing me Derrick, what really happened.
DERRICK
I saw Mirabelle running out of the house crying, I tried to know what happened so I asked mum and dad who were in the living room, what I got was a dirty slap from your mother and the next thing she said was “that’s for lying to us about knowing where your brother is”
MARCEL
(Shocked)
what? a slap? I don’t un-derstand any of this, how did they know in Nigeria.
DERRICK
I have no idea bro, but dad looks hurt and disappointed, he asked me to ask you to come back home immediately.
MARCEL
Come back home? that’s not possible, not now that I just started something beautiful with Clarissa
DERRICK
How do you mean?
MARCEL
(He smiled)
I asked clarissa to be my girlfriend yesterday at senator God….
he was saying then he paused, he just remembered something, at the party alot of people were videoing them, some even took pictures, as of yesterday things like that didn’t border him because it was better for him to get caught by his mother than lose Clarissa
DERRICK
Hello, are you still there.
MARCEL
sh*t, I fu**ed up bro, at the party yesterday alot of people were taking pictures and videoing us.
DERRICK
(Was more confuse)
what are you talking about?
MARCEL
what I’m saying is, mum must have found out I’m in Nigeria throu-ghthe cli-p those bloggers posted online…..well it doesn’t matter because not even the goddess of the land can bring me back home, I will come back when I’m ready.
DERRICK

MARCEL
Don’t worry bro, mum can’t do anything….hope you didn’t tell dad where he can find me?
DERRICK
I’m un-der an oath remember? I can never break that oath bro.
MARCEL

DERRICK
Okay, you nee-d to be careful now because mum might send guards to start looking for you.
MARCEL
Lagos is a big town bro…..let her try.
DERRICK
I will be staying a few days at Kim before going home to clear the tension.
MARCEL
Good idea….How’s she doing?
DERRICK
That girl is just too stubborn, she’s seriously sick but she wouldn’t go to the hospital….she hate hospital.
MARCEL
(He giggles)
but with her stubborness you still love her….well, if she hate the hospital that badly and you know she’s really them take the hospital home to her.
DERRICK
Yeah, I intend doing that…..I gat to go bro, she’s at home alone and I have left her for a while now.
MARCEL
alright, take care and be careful because now that mum already knows where you go to Everytime Kim might be in danger.
DERRICK
I swear if mum does anything harmful to that girl she will regret ever having me as a son.
(she said angrily)
MARCEL
calm down, let’s pray it doesn’t get to that.
DERRICK
Let’s hope….bye
he hung up and came out of his car and walked into his hospital.
he went into his hospital and wrote down all the things he nee-ded in treating Kim before he called one of his nurses to arrange them for him.
some minutes later he kick off to Kim’s place, on his way he thought of what Marcel said and immediately he regretted every making Kim’s house an option the day he was been followed.
He never knew he was going to love her this crazy, he never thought his heart would beat this fast for her…if he had known he would have just gone home that day, or go somewhere else, now his mother knows where Kim lives and that scares him because he knows his mother and what she’s cable of doing….”I swear if mum dares harm kimberly, then she should he ready to kill me or watch me die in her harms” he threatened.
almost an hour later he arrived at Kim’s place, he opened his car and called Usman to help him bring some stuff in and Usman did gladly.
Usman helped him to take the stuff upstairs, Kim was sleeping when they entered but theri noise woke her up.
she looked surprised seeing all the stuff Derrick brou-ght.
DERRICK

USMAN
you welcome sir….good afternoon madam
KIMBERLY
Usman how are you?
USMAN
I’m fine ma, how are you?
KIMBERLY
(She smiled)
I’m okay…..sorry I didn’t serve you anything yesterday, I’m not too strong
USMAN
That’s fine ma, I’m glad you are getting better….please he strong for me…i will go now.
KIMBERLY
I will….thanks
Usman excused them, Derrick climbed the bed and tou-ched her forehead then her ne-ck to check her temperature.
KIMBERLY
welcome back
DERRICK
thanks….you have been sleeping ever since?
KIMBERLY
yeah, what’s with all the load?
DERRICK
(He looks at the load)
well, since you have refuse to go to the hospital, I thought I bring the hospital home.
KIMBERLY
But I told you I’m fine
DERRICK
I can see that…
(he said taking his bag)
He brou-ght out all his stuff and took her blood sample so he could test it and know what is wrong with her before treating….. ten minutes later the test skirt was ready, he took it and nodded his head.
KIMBERLY
what’s wrong?
DERRICK
Huh?
KIMBERLY
I saw you nodding your head, what’s wrong with me?
DERRICK
when last did you have a proper check up and a proper treatment?
KIMBERLY
I’m never sick so why should I go to the hospital?
DERRICK
Well, congratulations you have a high level of tyhoid and fever.
KIMBERLY
well, it’s not that bad is it?
DERRICK
very bad.
KIMBERLY
Oh, well thank God you came prepared.
Derrick could help but smiled, she’s always confident and not scared of anything…. Kim couldn’t tell if that smile was for her or his just smiling at her predicament..
He took out a pack of drip and fixed it on her, added different kind of injections in it before he sat down to relaxed.
His stomach grumble, that was when he remembered he hasn’t eaten anything since morning.
KIMBERLY
have you eaten today?
DERRICK
I brou-ght a few things to stay over, I can’t be driving home and back here everyday….so I leave once you are done with your medication…..hope it’s okay by you?
KIMBERLY
okay
she said coldly and Derrick didn’t mind.
he took his phone and ordered for chips and chicken and jui-ce for the three of them.

A WEEK LATER
Kim had fully recovered from her sickness, and Derrick was already planning on going back home, there was no day that went by that his mother would not call and threaten to bring down heaven if he does not come back home.
He wasn’t going back because of his mothers threats, he felt it’s not responsible for him to be staying in a woman’s house, it should be the other way round.
Beside he stay at Kim’s place has been so boring, he was always on his laptop chatting, or watching a movie, while Kim was already doing something else.
Mrs Elizabeth had confirmed that his son is staying with that so called girl, her man has called her earlier that week to inform her he saw her son driving out of that compound and when he returned back.
Mrs Elizabeth was waiting for the right time to strike.
two days after Derrick returned home from Kim’s place, Mrs Elizabeth sent her guys to go and abuduct kimberly, she already knows all she nee-d to know about the girl, and from her finding she’s not anything close to good for her son.
It was seven in the evening, Kim was driving back from where she went to see a friend when Mrs Elizabethe’s men double crossed her and kidnapped her.
They took her to an uncompleted building and tied her up there, they called Mrs Elizabeth to inform her that they have carried her as-signment….but the king and Derrick were altogether with her at the dining she couldn’t pick her call.
The call continue to come in yet she refuse to answer.
KING MASON
honey, your phone has been ringing for a while now….why not answer it?
MRS ELIZABETH
huh? oh the call? don’t worry it’s not important.
Derrick felt it in his spirit that his mother was at it again, but he wasn’t sure what she was up to so he waved it off.
after dinner Mrs Elizabeth went to a conner and called her Hitman snake
MRS ELIZABETH
are you a fool? didn’t common sense tell you to stop calling after trying to reach me once?
SNAKE
I’m sorry my queen
MRS ELIZABETH
You better be careful because if you get caught i will deny you.
SNAKE
Yes ma….we got the girl ma
MRS ELIZABETH
brilliant, good one…where is she now?
SNAKE
At our normal sp-ot.
MRS ELIZABETH
very good, make sure no harm come to her , I will like to see the face of the idiot that has turn my son against me.
SNAKE

Do not contact me again until I do so.
SNAKE

she hung the call and laughed to herself “Derrick wait for it, you won’t even know what hit you, as for you Marcel, your time will soon come, you both are my son but I will tell you I’m Elizabeth daughter of zuzu, the one and only terror of his time….no one messes with me not even my own children” she said and sm-irk evilly.
Derrick retired to his room, he went and took his bath then dressed up and retire to bed, he felt this strong urge of talking to Kim so he called her, her phone started to ring but there was no answer, he called and called again till snake finally switch off her phone.
“could she be at the club and I’m disturbing her? after all she’s now we’ll and fit to go back to her life style” he thought to himself and the fear of him been right made his heart ache.
The next morning Derrick waited for her call all throu-ghthe day but she didn’t call him so he decided to go check up on her after work.
At around 4pm he could no longer wait for her call so he closed from work and went to her house.
He horn at her gate and Usman opened the gate for him.
USMAN
welcome sir…good evening
DERRICK
Evening usman…is your madam in?
USMAN
(Surprised)
No sir, I thought she’s with you because she didn’t come back home last night.
DERRICK
With me? since I left here three days ago I haven’t seen nor heard from kimberly.
USMAN
have you tried calling her?
DERRICK
I called her last night but she switched off her phone.
USMAN
This is strange sir, my madam never sleeps out without calling me to inform me to lock the gate that she isn’t coming back, beside when she was going out yesterday she said to me “Usman, take this money and get yourself some food, I’m going out, later in the evening I will cook something for us to eat” if she wasn’t going to come back she would have informed me.
DERRICK
Where could she have gone to?
He thought for a while then took his phone and called his brother.
MARCEL
hey bro
DERRICK
Good evening bro….please is Clarissa there with you?
MARCEL
No, I’m at my apartment, why?
DERRICK
did you see kimberly yesterday?
MARCEL
(Confused)
see her where? what’s going on bro?
DERRICK
Have u seen her or not?
MARCEL
(He sighed)
no I have not….tell me Derrick, what….
DERRICK
(He cut him short)
Don’t worry bro….i will talk to you later.
Without a word to Usman he entered his car and left.
He prayed nothing bad had happened to her, and he hoped she hasn’t gone out with another man.
Mrs Elizabeth waited patiently for the environment to be calm before she drove out on her own, the guards wanted to accompany her but she stopped them.
she parked her car in front of the building, immediately snake and his boys heard the sound of her car, they came out to greet her.
SNAKE
welcome queen mother.
MRS ELIZABETH
Save the greeting for later, where is the girl?
SNAKE
come with me ma
He led Mrs Elizabeth to where kimberly was tired up, kimberly was still sleeping because of the drug they injected in her ne-ck before kidnapping her.
MRS ELIZABETH
Why is she still sleeping? my friend wake her up.
SNAKE
Bruno give our guest some cold water.
Bruno fetched a bowl of water from one Conner and poured on kimberly making her to wake up….her head hurt, she felt dizzy but slowly she got herself and noticed where she is and the people around her.
KIMBERLY
where I’m I? what have I done? why did you kidnap me?
(she scream at them)
MRS ELIZABETH
(She laughed)
awwww, and she even has a sharp mouth…well, I will like to know what is your business with my son.
KIMBERLY
(Shocked)
your son? and who is your son if I may ask?
She was getting irritated by Kim’s boldness, she enjoys of when her prey are scared but this one seem calm.
MRS ELIZABETH
Derrick Mason, he is my son.
Kimberly was shocked to the bone, she couldn’t believe the woman standing right in front of her is derrick’s mother…she’s dress in royal outfit, does it mean she’s royalty?
KIMBERLY
Derrick is your son?
MRS ELIZABETH
yeah right, his my son….what did you do go my son? what?
KIMBERLY
I’m confuse, are you from a royal home?
MRS ELIZABETH
(Was surprised at her question)
I guess my son didn’t love you enough to tell you his a prince after all.
the sound of that word “prince” hit kimberly like a gun shot, she didn’t want to believe the woman was actually saying the truth.
KIMBERLY
what do you want with me? I have no relationship with your son, we are just friends.
MRS ELIZABETH
Yeah, friends and my son is already disrespecting me, I wonder what he might do if you finally start dating….That’s by the way, I did a background check on you, I found out you are nothing but a slut, you are not fit to be among the royalty because you have no background at all
KIMBERLY
How can a queen be this evil? wait I’m trying to un-derstand this, you kidnapped me because you feel I’m not worthy to be with your son?
MRS ELIZABETH
shut your mouth you bi*ch
KIMBERLY
Your kingdom must be in pain to have a queen like you….no wonder your son never talked much about you, he was always talking about his father….now I see why….
she was saying but Mrs Elizabeth shut her up with a very dirty slap.
