Cali’s Pov:
I yawned out of sleep and found myself still lying on the be-d.
Hmm. I stretched and that was when it occurred to me – I was actually the only one on the be-d.
Where’s Miquel? Where did he sleep last night?
Hmph. I couldn’t even remember anything.
I sat up on the be-d and thought for a while. I nee-ded to go for clas-ses, huh?
But where’s Miquel?
I stood up and went into the bathroom to brush my teeth. What do I even eat?
I decided to sort something out in the kitchen and getting there, I was shocked to find Miquel.
Whaaaat???
He’s been here all along???
He turned to give m a stare.
“hey” he hushed and turned back to what he was doing.
I closed the door and walked in.
“Good morning”, I said with a shy smile as I got to where he was and stood beside him.
He was ma-king scrambled eggs.
“Good morning, beauty. How was your night?” He asked and I felt my cheeks turn red.
Did he just….
Did he just call me beauty???
“Are you seriously blu-shing because of that?” He asked with a scoff, bemusing me the more.
How did he know I was blu-shing?
He turned to look at me and I twitched.
“Is that the first time you’re hearing that from a guy?” He asked, staring directly at me.
“What?? Of….Of course, not. I had a lot of boys that’s been crushing on me back then in school. I was a queen, you know?” I rolled my eyes and leaned on the counter.
“Really?” He turned back to the eggs.
“So, you d@t£d a lot of boys, then?”
“Huh?? Of course, I didn’t. Actually, I usually got angry when boys chase after me and majority of them back then tend to avoid me in school. Only the determined ones persisted” I replied.
“So…..you’re trying to say you scare boys?” He asked.
“Well, yes. I’m actually a stubborn lady, you know? And I’m not scared of anyone. I just….”
“But you’re scared of me?” He looked at me and asked and I felt my heart skip.
Gosh! Does he really have to point out the fact that he’s my weakness???
I bit myl-ips and stared down at the table and he chuckled and continued with the eggs.
“Go get the bre-ad from the fridge” he said and I quic-kly left to get it.
Hmm. A big cold loaf.
He turned off the g@s, poured the scrambled eggs into a plate and we left for the room to eat afterwards.

Naomi’s Pov:
“Seriously Naomi? You think we’re betrayers?” Natalie asked as i stood in the room with all three of them.
“The hell, yes. One or all of you betrayed me. How else did Miquel get to know about the plan? Was he told by a ghost or what??” I snapped at them.
“I’m…I’m really sorry about that, Naomi. But one thing’s for sure – I had nothing to do with it. I’d never betray you, Naomi” Ivy also said and I rolled my eyes.
“Same here, Naomi. I’d never betray you” – ch!pped in Betty.
I fisted my hand and moved closer to them.
“One thing’s for sure” i said.
“The traitor’s right here – staring at me. And I want you to know this. I’ll definitely fish you out. And once I do, you’re dead. I swear with my life, I’ll kill you” I threatened and walked out on them.

Derek’s Pov:
I drove throu-gh the magic portal and found myself in a secluded area in the institute.
The white Diãmônds institute!!
Yes. I made it.
I stood up from the floor where I’d landed and looked around.
Just incase you’re wondering, I’m Derek, the guy s£nt by Mykel to get Cali.
Traveling throu-gh magic portals is a rare gift I posses. And as a matter of fact, I was the only one with such gift in the Black Diãmônd institute.
I could make portals to take me anywhere in the world without having to pas-s throu-gh the gate.
I held my bag properly and started walking.
I nee-ded to acquire my target. The boss had only given me a short time. Where’s the banshee?

Cali’s Pov:
After eating with Miquel, I took my bath and while in the shower, I kept praying he doesn’t come in like he did last night.
I mean, it’s weird staying with a guy who could open locked doors even without tou-ching them. I just feel like I’m completely vulnerable to him.
I successfully took my bath without any interruptions, dried my b©dy with a towel and put on my clothes right there.
Perfect.
Then, I returned to the room and found him working on some papers.
I walked closer, but he didn’t lift his head to look at me.
“Um….I’ll be leaving now” I told him and he sh0t me a glance.
“Okay, then. Have a nice time” he said and focused on the papers.
What was he doing anyway?
I picked up my bag and left.

I got out of the ap@rtment and started towards the lecture hall.
How would I be able to meet Nina and Diane? Could they be in the lecture hall alre-ady?
I sighed and continued walking anyway and decided to beguile the moment with blissful thoughts of Miquel and I.
I remembered how he k!$$£d and t©uçhed me last night.
Gosh!! That guy was really a lover boy.
I could imagine how he’d be in…be-d.
Oh! Cali!!! What am I even thinking?
Geez?!!
I smiled and just then, got st©pped by a guy who stood in front of me.
Huh? Who’s he?
I looked at his hand and discovered he had so many tattoos on it.
But I was able to figure out a name from the tattoos:
“Derek”
“Do you nee-d something?” I asked him since he was standing on my way.

Cali’s Pov:
“Do you nee-d something?” I asked him since he was standing on my way and he just smiled.
“You’re Cali, right?” He asked but I didn’t reply.
Then, I tried to see if I could re-ad his thoughts which were kinda ha-rd , but just then, someone distracted me.
“Cali!!” I heard my name and turned to see Nina and Diane running towards me.
Ah! Perfect.
“Sorry for the inconvenience, miss. I actually wanted to ask you a question, but don’t bother. I’ll just find my way” he said and left in a hurry before Nina and Diane could arrive.
“Hey, Wat’s up?” They asked when they got to where I was.
“Who was that?” Diane asked, staring at the direction the boy had taken.
“Uh…I have no idea. He just bu-mped into me and asked some silly questions” I replied with a shrug and for a moment, we were silent.
“So, you really sle-pt in Miquel’s room?” Diane asked, her right hand on her w@!st.
Gosh! Not again.
“Well..yes” I rolled my eyes.
“What the hell happened, Cali? How’re you suddenly close to Miquel? Come on, tell us about it”.
“Not now, okay? We have clas-ses to attend” I replied and tried walking away, but she pu-ll-ed me back.
“Hell, no! We’re going nowhere until you tell us the truth” she persisted and Nina chuckled.
“Okay; fine! Fine! He asked me to stay with him, okay? He just nee-ds some company” I rolled my eyes and folded my hands.
Well, Miquel was one special person and I knew it might be awkward telling someone he likes me.
“He asked you to stay with him?” Nina asked in her tiny voice.
“What did you do to him, Cali? I mean….why would Miquel want you to stay with him? Miquel of all people? Do you even know what you’re talking about?” Diane inquired.
Gosh! How then would she react if she gets to know he k!$$£d and t©uçhed me last night??
“Well…let’s just say we grew fond of each other and bec@m£ friends. After all, miracles happens” I shrugged and started walking away and thankfully, they didn’t st©p me this time around.
They followed me behind and we got to the lecture hall after a long walk.
“You still have a lot to tell us,,Cali” Diane whispered to me as we took our seats and I just rolled my eyes.
Whatever.
Everyone settled in clas-s and soon, the lecturer walked in.
“Good morning, Diãmônds” he greeted in the usual language.
“Good morning, sir” few of them mumbled a reply.
Well, I was among the lot.
“So, before we commence today’s clas-ses, I’d like to pas-s an important announcement, just like every other lecturer would do to their students as well.
“There’s an important mission on ground – and it’s actually going to be the biggest mission we’ve had in years.
“We’ll be facing our enemies – The Black Diãmônds – and there’ll be a physical combat. As we speak, they’re also ma-king preparations as well.
“Before the end of the day, a list will be out – a list of the people required for the mission. The gifts we’ll nee-ding will be listed out and if you know you possess any of the gifts, you’re to pres£nt yourself to the directors immediately so you can commence your training tomorrow.
“We hope for the best and if we work together, we’re definitely going to win. Are there any questions?” He concluded, but the clas-s remained silent.
“Okay. If there are no questions, we can proceed…..”
Hm. So, we’ll be going for another mission?
And with the way he sounds, it seems to be a really big mission.
What could it be all about?

After the strenuous clas-ses, Diane, Nina and I decided to have lunch in the cafe.
“I wish I get chos£n for the next mission” Diane said as we settled down with our meals.
“Huh? You wish to be chos£n for something dangerous?” I recoiled.
“Well,,yes. I actually love tasks – especially dangerous ones. I love ma-king use of my powers” she said happily and cl@pped her hands.
Hm.
Nina didn’t say a word and we all began eating.
After a while, I bec@m£ pressed and excused myself to the restroom.

I exhaled de-eply as I sat on the toilet seat and re-leased the liquid content from my honey pot.
I placed my hand on my chin and suddenly thought of Miquel.
At some extent, I felt lucky being close to him – really lucky.
I recall how everyone feared him. How he’s being respected and worsh!pped like a god.
And I couldn’t believe that was the same guy that k!$$£d me last night.
At some point, I felt it’d be an honor giving him my……..
Gosh! Cali! What is wrong with you?
I sl@pped my head and laughed.
But to be sincere, I really enjoyed how he’d t©uçhed me last night.
It was so…….
I couldn’t explain it.
After a while, I stood up, fixed my dress and c@m£ out of the room to make use of the washbasin.
As I stood in front of the mirror, washing my hands un-der the running water, I suddenly saw an image behind me.
Huh?
I flin-ched and turned to discover it was the boy from earlier – the one with a tattooed *Derek* on his hand.
“You??” I called out.
What’s he doing here??? In the female restroom??
And thinking of it, I don’t think there was anyone else around.
“What’re you doing here?” I asked, surprised and he started coming towards me.
Okay….I don’t think this is normal.
“I don’t wanna hurt you” he said huskily.
“So, just comply and give me your hand and in a few seconds, we’ll be out of here”.
What???
He stretched out his palm to me.
“Wh…What’re you talking about? Why should I go with you?” I asked with an alarmed look.
“When we get there, you’ll know. But for now, we nee-d to leave” he insisted and stretched out the hand the more.
I stared at him for a while without saying a word.
“I’m not interested” I stated bluntly and tried walking away,,but just like I’d expected, he gr!pp£dmy hand.
And using my survival instincts, I kicked him ha-rd in the leg as soon as I turned.
Holy Molly! He didn’t even move or freak.
The kick didn’t have any effect on him.
My eyes wi-de-ned in shock as it occurred to me and I tried screaming at him immediately, but he sl@pped me ha-rd on the cheek, ma-king me roll on the floor.
Whaaaaat????
I g@sped and crawled backwards when I regained myself.
“Stay away from me!!!” I yelled out.
But my voice was a little weak and he just moved back a bit and was up on his feet again within a few seconds.
He was in the direction of the door and I knew there was no way I’d be able to run out.
I felt so scared. Who was he? And why was he so bent on taking me away?
I tried screaming again, but he noticed and kicked me across the face.
Oh my God!!!
I spat out blood.
Ahh!!
I felt a sharp pain on my cheek as tears filled my eyes.
What’s going on?
“Don’t let us do this the ha-rd way,,Cali” he said as he brou-ght out a knife from his pocket.
Oh my God!!!
“You’ve alre-ady chos£n the ha-rd way” I suddenly heard a cold voice – a voice which was different from his.
It didn’t come from him;
It c@m£ from someone else – someone I’d never forget the sound of his voice!
Where’s he?!?
He showed up at the door immediately and my heart skipped.
Miquel!!!!!
