” Wow thank you, let’s have lunch together close by, I have some things to tell you and am so happy I ran into you today”.
“Should I agree to go or not?’
After contemplating on my thought, I finally concluded.
” Would love to ma, am even hungry”.
” Thank you, my child”.

After eating we had a little conversation, I must confess, I truly like his mom.
” You are really pretty my child, my son has good eyes you know”.
I blu-shed a little, “Thanks so much ma, I don’t un-derstand your last statement ma?”. I was a bit confused cause Damian is cold towards me.
” Are you two not a couple, when I talked about the video, he had a genuine smile but he kept on with his calm look”. His mom said.
“Well ma let me not lie to you, I like Damian but am not sure if he feels that way, he doesn’t even wish to have friendsh!pwith me, he’s always cold, sorry if am breaking in to privacy, his he really cold?”. I got scared after asking this question.
” Well you are right about his coldness, he bec@m£ like that when something tragic happened in the family, Damian is very caring and un-derstanding if you get to know him better, he gives me his mother that same coldness but the truth is, he likes keeping things to himself, he feels he can handle all situation”.
She paused and continued.
“Damian can never admit to something he knows is the truth, Nora I can tell he likes you okay, I want my son to be the Damian I use to know when he was a teen, if you truly like him, don’t give up on him, am happy I saw you today, I feel a woman love can make him drop that coldness okay”.
” Thanks, ma for sharing this with me, even if he doesn’t wish to have me in his life, I now know his kind of person”.
” Can I tell you a secret?” she asked?
” Yes, ma”.
” I failed my responsibility as a mother to him, am not forcing you on him don’t get it wrong, if you truly like him, get to know him though he would always distance himself”
She talked about lots of things, his childhood and lots more, she took my contacts and told me to keep our meeting today a secret for him not to find out.

I had a plan with the girls, Ivy and Piper to get Damian attention, I know it will work out well, we planned it for closing time.
“He’s coming, start acting while we go and tell him”, Piper said.

Xavier forgot something at the libr@ry, he went to get it, while I decided to wait for him walking to an empty clas-s.
Then Piper and Ivy rushed to me, it gave me little fear.
” Why did you both run like that what happened?”
“She is dying”, Piper said.
” I don’t get who is dying?”.
“Nora, she is”.
I didn’t let them finish the statement as I rushed to the clas-sroom Nora is.
She was on the floor in pain.
I went crazy alre-ady, ” Nora what happened”.
She started shaking,” You are cold, don’t worry will take you to the school clinic”.
I took off my sweater that has my name Damian and wore her, then I carried her bridal style, heading to the school clinic when Xavier st©pped me”.
“What happened Damian?”
” She isn’t well, am heading to the school clinic” I replied to him.
” Oh Damian thank you, let me take her there, you told me you were in a hurry home today cause of something important right?”.
What the hell is wrong with Xavier?
“She is more important now?”.
” What, remember I told you, Damian..”
“plea-se we can talk later but first let me take her to the clinic okay.”.

I was wondering what exactly I could get her to eat, I haven’t done this before so I decided to just ask her, this kindness is just for today and nothing more.
Getting there, I heard her laughing ha-rd , it was Xavier giving her fruits and talking to her.
” Really, I should just go home”.

I felt so special the way he carried me and even when he said I am important now but I hate Xavier for complicating things alre-ady.
I was bored thinking Damian would come but just talked with Xavier forgetting am acting on a plan.
I got discharged and left with the girls when he never c@m£, we planned it with one of the nurses.
Maybe he won’t care, he just decided to help as a human, if he cared he would have come back to check on me, his too cold.

At home when I took off my clothes, I then remembered am having his sweater with his name on it, I held to it and wishing I was holding him.
“Oh Damian when will you admit you love me, when will I have a heart discussion with you, telling you how I love being a nurse “.

At school the next day, I was putting on the sweater, many were surprised.
Ellie walked to me saying, ” Hey you thief, you stole my man sweater and you have the gut to put it on to school hum?”
” You must be stupid to think he’s your man, I never took it from him, find him and ask him, he gave it to me, carried me in bridal style, it was so ro-mantic, don’t tell me you are jealous” I fired back.
I saw the anger in her eyes, she sl@pped me and I fought back, Xavier was the one that st©pped us from fighting. “Slut”, I said before leaving.

” Xavier is it true what I heard from her, Damian gave her his wear?”, I said in anger.
“Am shocked as you, the Damian I know don’t always care, he called her important but let me take it as a help, he knows I like her and he won’t dare take her from me”.
” You are so blind Xavier, we nee-d to do something fast, we must not let these two get together, if you love her then tell him something to make him stay far from her okay”
I left him.
I can’t let her beat me to this, while ending school this year, I would make sure I end it with Damian and I d@t!ng.

I got to the house, I made sure Nora never saw me today, she might be having a wrong impression because of what happened.
Mom told me she might have failed me as a mother but I shouldn’t let the green snake infect me, I might be cold but I won’t work with them.
I heard sounds from the kitchen that got me from my thoughts.
I decided to check it out when I saw my mom on the floor lifeless.
I had to rush her to the hospital, “No mom, this is not happening”.

A few hours later, I was told she is not getting better.
“Am sorry, meds can’t work this time around, we nee-d to operate on her and will nee-d close to 3million dollars”.
I almost fainted, I have wished for this day not to come at all.
“Where would I get the money from?, the p@rt-time job is not enough to raise such funds, I don’t even know what to do, plea-se nurse there must be some meds that can help plea-se.”
“How to wish, why don’t you apply for the vacancy I heard about, a gardener, the man that owns the place is damn rich and just working there for a few months can help too, p@rt-time job what do you think”. She said.
I got excited,” plea-se I would take the job, just help me out”.
“Okay, I know Mr. Addison would give you the job and if you are good and humble, he would even give you a bonus too, tomorrow we go and see him at his office, he ha-rd ly at home “.
” Okay thank you so much ma”.

“Hope you like your new driver I just employed”, my lovely father asked me.
” Yes, father I prefer him to the old driver that almost got me killed because of his carelessness”. I replied with a smile.
“But father what about the gardener, you know how I so much love flowers, I don’t want the flowers at the garden to lose his beauty”, I said giving him the puppy face.
” Don’t worry my diamond, your dad got that covered so you shouldn’t be worried about that okay, or do you wish to come with me to work for the interview with the gardener my Pa friend is bringing to see me at the office?”
“I don’t think I can go there is better I just hang out dad with friends or watch my favorite film, Originals, I wish I can meet Klaus and Elijah with their sister Rebecca in real life, mostly Camille, Vincent, Marcellus…”, Father st©pped me from saying anything again.
” Okay fine you won, seems you are so obsessed with this film you are watching over a million times hum?”
“Father I just love the movie, mostly Klaus, he has some character that my clas-smate actually possess, he never admits to things, just take for instance he loved Camille but didn’t admit it, the time he finally chooses to admit it that was when Camille lost her life as a human after one night of love”, I said forgetting myself.
” Oh really, seems my daughter is in love, this is good news, so who is the fool that doesn’t wish to admit his feelings towards you? his he handsome?”
” Father he the most handsome figure has ever seen”, oops, don’t tell me I just admitted this to my dad, oh $h!t.
“Oh really,” He said.
“Aww father, Ivy, and Piper would be on face time waiting for me to join them, do have a great time at work”, I lied head upstairs to avoid ex-posing myself.
I watched him smile as he left.
I took some cookies while watching my favorite movie so I thought of calling Damian since I have his contact, hopefully, he picks.
I called him so many times but the j£rk refuses to answer my calls.
I will so deal with him, I took his sweater and started interacting with it as if Damian was here.

At my mom’s ward at the hospital, I kept looking at her, her eyes were still shut.
My phone was ringing and I picked the call, it was the green snakes.
” Greetings from us”.
“What do you want from this time around?”
“Well I decided to share the good news with you, you have won the heart of our boss and he wishes to have dinner with you”. He said in a happy tone.
” Well tell your stupid boss, that am not interested to have dinner with him and he should forget about the fact that I would work with him, that can never happen”.
“Don’t be too harsh Damian, like I said you found favor in his sight, a favor wish we could never have then a boy in his twenties easily found it, you are so lucky like your father?”
“Don’t you dare in your life bring my father into this conversation” I threatened him?
” Okay fine, at least know the reason he wishes to have dinner with you hum”.
Then I decided to hear him speak on phone about the reason their psycho boss wants me to have dinner with him.
“Well you remember the girl you saved, this is the way for her to tell you to thank you with dinner”.
” Well am not interested in a thank you, she has dinner with other boys that joined me to rescue her okay”.
“You won’t want to hurt this innocent girl with your cold attitude right?”
“Okay fine, text me the place we are having dinner after that no more since it’s just a thank you”.
I ended the call.
I got the text and then I decided to silent my phone not to get more calls from there since I will be going to Mr. Addison’s office today.
Miranda the nurse c@m£ to the ward and told me lets be going, we boarded the taxi and headed to his office.
Getting there, I must confess, Mr. Addison is damn rich and has good taste, I love his company, I wish to have something like this in the future.
We entered the office when the secretary told us we can go in that his waiting for us.
I greeted him and he asked us to take our sit.
Now let me tell you another truth about myself, ap@rt from drawing, I love flowers, the beautiful views it’s given as well.
He asked me my names and other details, I answered everything, I got surprised that I got the job so easily, he told his driver to ride me to his home and show me the garden so I would know things to do and get.
I was so grateful and appreciated him, his kind, getting married in the future, I just wish he can be the father of the girl I would love because I believe his daughter would be nice as him.
I thanked the nurse for the opportunity she gave to me, she headed back to the hospital and told me not to worry too much about mom so my education won’t be affected.
She is right a bit but I just want mom to be fine.
The path we took to the house look so familiar, ” Have I been here before?” This was the question that kept coming to my head.
The gate was opened for us and the driver took me to the garden, the garden looks so abandoned and the flowers beauty has died off.
So I know what to do, time to grow some new flowers and also to trim some that can still survive it.
Then I heard a voice from behind,” Hi my dad called me that the new gardener will be in the garden now, so happy I will get to see the flowers back to life, call me Nora”.
I felt my heart racing when she said her name and I turned to confirm, truly it was Nora.
We all bec@m£ dumb staring at each other.
