I slowly open my eyes to behold myself in an hospital be-d.
How on heavens name did I get here?!
Ah, I remember now! I got into an accident because I want to suddenly become a superhero?
And come to think of it, I got myself into this situation because I tried saving my crush’s girlfriend. I mean who does that?!
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not obsessed over him that I’ll watch his girlfriend die but at least I won’t be in this critical stage right now.
Ouch! My head hurts really bad.!
“Thank goodness you’re awake! “She ran to my be-d and that’s when I took a very close look at her. She looks like a mess, messed up hair and her makeup has all fade away.

I asked for my phone and she handed it to me but unfortunately the battery is down so I requested for hers and she gave it to me.
” I have enough phone credits. “She said smiling. Don’t even try to be nice because as long as I’m concerned you’re still my rival.
I return the phone to her to unlock it and after she’s done, she return it back to me and on the screen is a picture of hers and Mr. Cutie, they look good together and I just feel like smashing the phone to the ground but it’s a good thing I was able to stĀ©p myself.
I dialed my mom’s phone number and she answered on the third ring.

š±oh my God Val!,what happened to you! I’ve been trying to call you but you ain’t picking up and now it’s off! Vera also called and the same thing! Your siblings are worried about you! Where are you right now?! ”
I roll my eyes.
š±one question at a time and I’m fine you don’t have to worry. I just had too much to drink that’s why I didn’t come home but I’m with a friend right now. I’ll be home for dinner.
We had more random conversation before she ended the call and I return her phone to her.
“You didn’t tell them the real story? ”
I wanted smashing her head to the wall. What real story? Should I tell my mom that I got into an accident trying to save a bit-ch like yourself?!
That’s impossible!
“I don’t want them to worry too much. “I said and she nod her head.
It’s a good thing she’s now mute cause my head really hurts!

I really hurt me because I lost Val’s number and I can never get it again. Did why the thief steal my phone?
“Hobby!, what happened to you?! “Mitchie ran in the office and sat on the table facing me.
“Don’t overreact Mitchie, I just lost my phone that’s it. “I said and she hissed then sits up.
“And here I thought maybe you were into an accident. It’s just a phone and look, you’ve replaced it alre-ady. ” She said pointing to the phone box on the table.
“But I lost her number and that’s what hurts. ”
“Ohhhhhhh! Just look at that! My sweet brother is alre-ady in love! Tell me about her! “She looks super excited like she’s the one that fell in love.
“”It’s not necessary because we will never get to see each other anymore. ” It hurts me but what can I do?
“That’s too bad. But tell you what! There’s this beautiful girl at the hospital. ”
“Hospital?! ” I’m not planning on d@t!nga nurse or doctor.
“Yeah. I told you about someone who got into an accident because of me right? It’s a good time thing she’s now but Kurt, she’s really pretty and good mannered. ” She said gushing about this friend of hers. Maybe she’s right, I nee-d to move on and forget about Val. We can never meet again anyway.

“It’s… Oh mine, Kurt, I didn’t ask for her name but don’t worry cause I alre-ady invited her to my birthday. ”
“Birthday? Your birthday was March. ” I reminded her.
“I know. I’ve gotten another life because of that lady. If not because she saved me, only God would have known what will happen to me. “She seems grateful and I wish she can listen to me and quit drinking but it’s out of Mitchie’s schedule.
“And, you’re invited. ” She added.
“Of course. I want to meet her and who knows right, I might end up falling in love with her. ” I wi-nk at her and she sl@p my shoulder.

“God, Im really hungry. ” She place a plate of food in front of her and sit on a small stool.
“I’m not eating in the same plate with you. ” I told her.
“My apology my dear friend, I thought you’re alre-ady dead that’s why I made food only for myself. “She said annoyingly and I threw the pillow at her but she caught it.
“So, you were saying? ”
“I got into a car accident meant for Kurt’s girlfriend. “I said. Talking about it is really embarras-sing.
“Kurt, Kurt, Kurt…. Oh! You mean your stupid crush?! “She never liked the fact that I’m crushing on him anyway.
“Yea, my stupid crush, and I feel really stupid for doing a thing like that. I mean, what if I’d died in the process? But it’s a good thing I didn’t right? “I said
“I agree you’re really stupid. Now, can you stĀ©p thinking about this Kurt guy? “I roll my eyes.
“Love at first sight is just a myth. “I said and stand up. I’ll have to go cook myself something.

Stace knew Adrian was avoiding her ever since he returned the letter, he could not look her in the eye again. Unlike most girls, Stace is not ashamed that her love letter was rejected by her crush. Maybe because she alre-ady knows that he’s also having a crush on her. She knew what his problem is and it’s his twin sister Mirrah that’s why she has been looking for ways to talk to him without his twin sister’s presĀ£nce.
And here he is standing on the road, she’s going to take this chance and talk to him before Mirrah or his friends shows up.
“Hi.” Stace said standing by his side. She’s standing in a way that even if Mirrah walks up on them she won’t suspect anything. She’s standing some inches away from him and is trying not to have an eye contact with him.
“Why are you here? ” Adrian ask looking at her.
“Try not to look at me. I want to talk to you. “She said.
Some people might think she’s shameless but what’s the essĀ£nce of you wanting something and not going for it? She believes in going for what one wants.
” This is crazy. What if…
“What? Are you scared? Who are you scared of? Is it Mirrah? “She asked him and he chuckles.
” Me? Why should I be afraid of her? I’m just been careful. “He said

” Actually Adrian, I’m here because you wrote behind the letter that you’ll make it up to me. ”
“I haven’t thought of anything. ”
She knows he won’t thing of anything because he doesn’t have any plans of ma-king anything up to her.
‘I have. “She said. Adrian looked at her.
He must be thinking that she’s the desperate type and besides, guys should be the ones ma-king advances not the other way round.

‘Take me out on a lunch d@tĀ£. “She said without even looking at his expression and she hopes that he’ll agree.
“Stace, I can’t. ”

“I’ll text you where I want you to take me. Don’t worry it’s not expensive. “She said, tap his shoulder and walk away.
Adrian let out hvge sigh as he watch her get into a public bus and then he felt a hand on his shoulder. He turn to see his friends.
“Isn’t that Stace? ” David ask.
Adrian glared at him. “And so? ” They began walking.
“She’s acting too cheap. ” He concluded.
Who is David?
David is Adrian’s religious friend, and like every mother, Adrian’s mom prefers David to Steven because anything David comes to the house, it’s for nothing other than studying together and dragging Adrian to church services. And David does not believe in teenage r0m@nƧĀ£. He thinks it’s against the Holy book, no wonder Mirrah trust him around her brother than Steven.
“That girl isn’t cheap David and FYI, that is what they call true love and you my friend… ”

I wonder how she’s coping doing all these.
She’s a human but Mom won’t listen, sometimes, you just have to go on vacation from people and work. Be alone and think.
“What if you come work for me? At least the stress will reduce. “She’s trying to con me to come back to my own nightmare.
“Thanks Mom but no, thanks. I’ll rather be roaming about than work for you. You can always hire more staffs. ”
“You know me Val, I don’t trust all these new Yorkers. What if they start stealing from me again? ” She said and I chuckles.
“You’re just greedy Mom admit it. “I said and she stand up from her seat and walk out of the table.
” I’ll manage, thanks. “She said and I noticed Dad’s ph0to frame close to the computer.
“You miss him don’t you? “I turn to her and her gaze went to the picture frame.
“He gives me strength and always remind me not to give up. ”
“From what? “I ask her but she won’t say anything.
“I’ll leave you in the office for a while. Attend to anything you can.” She said and walk out.
I went to sit on the chair she stood up from starring at Dad’s ph0to. I really miss him so much. If only he’s here then Mom would have been spending time with us her children.
The landline starts ringing and I answered it.
āQuezito firm. How may I help you?
That’s how I’ve been thought to answer business calls.
āyes plea-se. This is WELLEERS COOPERATION. I want to speak with the CEO of I may. She ask us to call so as to fix the d@tĀ£ of meeting.
I exhale.
āThat’s good. Did she mention anything to you?

I ended the call and breathe out. Did Mum actually plan this? She want me to be the one to set the meeting d@tĀ£ with WELLERS.
They’re calling again. God, I answered.
āYes. It’s very good you called back. You should report to Quezito on Friday by 2pm. I’m sure you know the address?
āYes I do. Thank you very much ma’am.
I ended the call.
Mum, mum, mum. Ive done what she wanted me to do but the voice from the other end sounds familiar or is it Kurt?
