Charmaine open the door hoping Ashton would have gone to his room.
After he had forcefully got her back into the house, she had taken a shower and had changed into some thing else.
Her talk with Daphne and Bridget didn’t go well and since she will have no where to sleep if she leave, she would stay here for the night and leave tomorrow.
She was heading to her room when she heard his footsteps.
“We need to talk Charmaine” he said softly.
“I don’t think so” she replied and when she began heading to her room, he caught hold of her hand and pulled her to the sofa before settling into the other one.
“We need to talk about our living arrangement” Ashton began.
“I have no intention to live with you. As soon as I get the chance tomorrow, I will find another place” Charmaine said with an icy tone.
“I didn’t plan this” Ashton said drily while she gave him an unconvinced look.
“Since we have nothing more to talk about, am going to my room”
Charmaine stood up to leave only to trip on her foot which got her falling on Ashton lap.
Her eyes widened in shock and her attempt to get off got him holding onto her waist not giving her the chance to.
“What are you doing?” The nervous Charmaine asked as she stared at Ashton whose face is now very close to hers.
“I didn’t do it” Ashton said again.
“You told me that a while ago”
“I did but you don’t believe me and if I hadn’t force you to talk right now you will keep believing the worst about me just like you did two years ago” he challenged.
“What happened two years ago doesn’t have to do with now ” she countered.
“It has, why did you leave back then ?” He asked and Charmaine looked away from him before saying.
“Let’s just forget about the past. I have moved on and am sure you have done the same” turning her gaze on him she added. “Let’s just keep our distance”
She got off his laps and went straight to her room bolting the door.

“I just need to find another place to live and all will be fine” Charmaine blurted out while heading to class with Daphne.
“It won’t be easy though I think it’s wrong sharing an apartment with Ashton but it has its advantage too” Daphne said which earned her a frown from Charmaine.
They got to class only to see few students there and one of them is Essex.
On seeing him a smile lit Daphne face and if he hadn’t been so engrossed in his book, he would have notice her.
“Let’s seat over there” Charmaine suggested which got them both moving to the seats on the second row.
“Wake me up when lecture begins” Charmaine said as she tried to get some sleep while Daphne kept stealing glances at Essex.

“So tell me? Did you two make up? Did you get the chance to confess your feeling? Did you show her the….”
“One question at a time!” Ashton cautioned which got Zach smiling.
“Tell me that my plan did work” Zach cried out excitedly.
“It’s a complete waste. Why exactly did you do that?” Ashton asked.
“Cause it’s been years since you….”
“Yo, Ashton. Mind if we talked for a little while” Stephen stated.
“Ashton have more pending things to do” Zach grated out in anger.
“You aren’t Ashton, mind buzzing off?” Stephen sniped which got Zach angry.
“Take my bag, I will join you soon and don’t worry. I know how to handle him” Ashton said with confidence and that got Zach leaving them alone.
“What’s your problem this time?” Ashton asked.
“Just wanted to know what your relationship with Charmaine is?” Stephen said in return.
“And why do you want to know that?”
“Cause I find her to be…interesting” Stephen replied airily.
“Leave Charmaine alone” Ashton grated out which got Stephen snickering.
“So there is something going on between you two. Sorry dude but I don’t think I will be staying away from her” Stephen said very deliberately.
“If this is about the past just come at me and don’t use those around me to get to me, It makes you look shallow” Ashton said before walking off while Stephen glared at him.
“I will show you just how shallow I am” he said under his breath before walking off.

“Wake up, the professor is here” Daphne voice drifted into Charmaine sleep and that got her sitting up.
“What time is it?”
“Just after eight” a male replied by her side, she turned to see Stephen there.
“Hello there” Stephen greeted.
“Why is he here?” Charmaine whispered at Daphne.
“I don’t know though I made up a lot of excuse just so he wouldn’t seat by your side but he still did” Daphne whispered in return.
“Am not here to cause trouble, I only want to get to know you more” Stephen said with a smug smile on his face and Charmaine chose not to give him a reply.
“You know you should be thanking me since I helped you yesterday. That teacher wanted you expelled but then I interfered which means that you owe me” he said drily.
“I didn’t ask you to help and besides shouldn’t you be apologising. You tripped me during the orientation yesterday” Charmaine finally gave him a reply.
“Which got you falling into Ashton arms. Didn’t you like it?” Stephen asked.
“I didn’t ” Charmaine replied just as a young professor walk in.
Daphne whose gaze was on Essex reluctantly move away only to catch a pair of eyes watching her.
Foster let out a smile when he saw Daphne watching him and he added a wink which got her looking away quickly.
“Good morning everyone. Am Alexander and I will be taking you on math for this semester. You’ve come a long way everyone, I hope you keep striving hard till you achieve your goals ” the young professor addressed which got the boys clapping while the girls fell his handsome look.
As soon as Alexander ended the class some time later. Essex left the room which got Daphne excusing her self leaving Stephen and Charmaine alone.
“What’s he up to?” Zach asked as he and Ashton stared at them.
“Let’s head to our second class” Ashton replied as he stood up to leave but Zach held him back.
“Don’t you intend to do something. That creep is getting close to your girl!” Zach blurted.
“She told me to keep my distance and I intend to do that” Ashton replied before leaving the class.
“Heard you are living with Ashton” Stephen confided.
“How do you know that?” The surprised Charmaine asked.
“I got my ways. If you find living with him uncomfortable you can come stay with me” Stephen purred suggestively.
“Just as I have no interest in living with Ashton, I don’t have an interest in living with you” Charmaine asserted firmly.
“Then let me help you. I can find you some where else to live ” Stephen said which got her starring at him uncertainly.
“Why would you do that?”
“Let’s say it’s a way to apologise for tripping you. As soon as you are done with the next class, I will call you” Stephen stated.
“Do you even have my number?” Charmaine asked.
“I do” Stephen replied.

“Essex! ” Daphne called for the third time and that got him stopping.
“You did get into Cambridge” He said a smile lighting up his face.
“That is thanks to your help. If you hadn’t taught me the necessary things then I would failed the entrance exam” Daphne admitted.
“It’s nothing. Am glad I could help”
“If you don’t mind, can I treat you out to lunch this…”
“Babe!” A girl called before walking towards Essex and right in front of Daphne, she gave him a kiss.
“Have you been waiting for long?” Stella asked as she wipe her lip gloss off his lips.
“No. We just finished the first class” Essex answered before turning to Daphne who had gone quiet.
“Who is she?” Stella asked as she stared at Daphne with a dismissing look.
“She’s a friend. Daphne meet Stella my…. girlfriend” Essex hesitated a bit on that part and both girls failed to notice.
“Since the introduction is done, let’s go already. Have got a lot of things to tell you” Stella said as she pulled Essex off.
Daphne stood watching them walk off together and she felt her heart tightening.
Wanting to be alone, she went off in search of a quiet place failing to notice Foster who stood a distance away having witness the whole thing.
Daphne found a quiet spot and couldn’t hold back the tears that came pouring.
” When a ugly girl cries she looks more ugly” Foster mock as he came to stand in front of her with a handkerchief.
“What do you want?” Daphne asked glaring at him.
“To check on you after all my step brother made you cry. Like seriously? Why fall for a guy like him? He isn’t handsome and to top it all, he failed to notice your feelings and chose to be with a bitch. Poor you” he drawled softly before crouching in front of her to wipe off her tears.
For a while Daphne was stunned by his action but she regained her wits and push his hand away.
“You are despicable!” She let out in anger and was about to walk off when he held onto her hand.
“Am only saying the truth. Loving a guy like him is a total waste” Foster said.
“What do you know about love? Guys like you only f^ck around”
“At least I don’t go about making a girl cry cause I let them know what I can offer before getting involved with them” Foster replied.
“Then you should mind your business and stay away from me. I don’t intend to be amongst the girl you’ve f^ck and dump!” Daphne yelled at him.
“That sounds like a challenge” Foster drawled softly.
“Think of it whatever way you want, just stay away from me” she snapped in irritation before walking off while Foster kept starring at her @ss until she was out of sight.

Charmaine was waiting at the school entrance for Stephen when a car halt in front of her.
“You need to come with me, it’s urgent” Zach said as he took hold of her hand.
“Why should I and who are you?” Charmaine asked but instead of giving a reply, Zach lifted her like a doll and forced her into his car.
He drove for about some time and when Charmaine yelling wouldn’t stop, he stopped the car.
“Stop yelling. You know who I am” Zach said which got her starring at him.
“Did Ashton sent you to do this?” Charmaine asked.
“He didn’t and am not kidnapping you or anything I just don’t want you to go out with Stephen” Zach admitted.
“Why? ”
“To prevent you from finding another apartment. It’s my doing that Ashton and you are both living together so if you are leaving because you think he did it on purpose then you should…”
“Why would you want Ashton and I to live together in the first place?” Charmaine asked cutting him off.
“Isn’t it obvious. Ashton likes you” Zach told her which got her starring at him in disbelief.
“I simply think you and Ashton are the perfect couple and also I payed part of your house rent for two years. Where would you find a generous person like me and besides it will be hard getting a rented house around the school, so just take this offer. It’s not a big deal living with Ashton” Zach pointed out.
“You did all this just to get me to live in the same apartment with Ashton? What do you get in return cause I don’t believe you did this without expecting anything in return”
“Well, I did it so you can help me with some thing too” Zach admitted.
“And what will that be?”
“I like your friend and I need your help”
“Really? Which of them? Is it Daphne?”
“It’s Bridget. I like her and I need your help in persuading her to be mine ” Zach said and this got Charmaine laughing.

As soon as Alexander gave off the assignment which will be submitted during his next class.
Bridget hurriedly put her stuffs in her bag and left the class.
“Am gonna be late” she muttered as she hurried down the stairs.
A motor bike which was driving by would have hit her if someone hadn’t pulled her out of harm’s way.
“Are you okay?”
On hearing that question, the shaken Bridget stared up at her saviour only to see that it’s the math professor.
“I am. Thanks” Bridget said as she move away from him since he had pulled her to him while trying to protect her from harm.
“You should always be careful. I came to give you this since you forgot it” he said as he gave her one of the book she failed to pack into her bag.
“Oh! Thank you professor. I really would have been helpless without it” she said as a relieved smile lit her face.
A smile which got Alexander starring for a while.
Clearing his throat, he said ” you should also be careful with your things, see you during next class”
“Once I get the chance, I will treat you to lunch. Thanks so much prof!” Bridget said before running off.
Alexander stood watching her leave and a smile lit up his face.
He certainly will have that lunch with her, he thought within.
“Did he just smile?” Eva whose face was swollen due to the beating she received from Charmaine asked from where she stood having witnessed the scene between Bridget and Alexander.
“Do you think he likes her? If he does then you don’t stand a chance at wining his heart ” Astrid said to the boiling Eva.
“Alexander is mine and no one else” Eva declared….
