Alex has been drinking.
“How….how could she?” He cried. Kate was surprised seeing Alex crying and drinking over Nina. It hurts her to see him like that.
“A…..Alex….!” She tried to console him.
“She….she never loved me….I knew….but…how could she?” He cried.
“Alex you don’t have to feel this way…am….am here for you….let me heal your heart!” Kate cried.
“Go away Kate…” He pushed her away.
“Alex please!!!” Kate got angry. “Why are you pushing me away?, All I did was love you…she doesn’t deserve you….she’s ungrateful!!!”
“Don’t you dare say such thing about Nina….you don’t know her!!!” Alex fired back.
“No…it is you who doesn’t know her……she’s using you”
“I don’t care….let her use me till the end….so far she’s mine and she doesn’t live me…., Now tell me….tell me who she’s getting married to…I have to stop the wedding” he plead.
“Never……she doesn’t belong to you…she belongs to someone else….get over her!!” Kate yelled and walk out of the bar.
Victoria was a nice person…..she was so nice to everyone… even the maids.
“Here Nina….this is your handmaid….”
“Greetings to the second princess……my name is Eva” she said. She was a young girl…about 16 or 17 years old.
“Hi Eva….am Nina….” I stretch out my hands for a handshake. The little girl.shiver as she lower her head even more. Victoria drag my hands down.
“Nina….i told you….you can’t touch people with lower status….your going to be a princess tomorrow….” She said and smiled again.
“Oh…sorry I forgot” i said
“Error…..don’t ever say sorry…..royals never made mistakes” she said
“So we are perfect?” I asked.
“Perfectly perfect” she replied.
Victoria excused herself and it was left with only me and Eva.
I cleared my throat.
“Your highness should I get you something to drink?” She asked.
“Aaahh…no…no am fine…..I…..I have…..” My head was spinning.
“Your highness are you alright?” She asked.
“Yes…..am……….ii..I…”
“Your highness!” Eva yelled as Nina fell on the floor……”Help!!!!….., Help!!!!”. She was shocked when Nina suddenly disappeared.
I found myself in my room. I started pan-ting heavily. I was tasty…..I ran into the kitchen to drink water.
“Aunty Nina??” My little niece yelled.
I kept at the middle of my family.
“You’re a disgrace!!!” Father yelled.
“Totally!” Mother added.
“It’s not what you think…..I wasn’t having an affair…I was…..”
The door barge opened and Alex walked inside. His eyes were red…he looked frustrated. With the was his steps approach me I thought he was going to hit me or shout at me but……he suddenly pulled me up and hug-ged me. He squee-zeme tight.
“Alex…..” I whispered. I missed him too. I hug-ged him back.
“You’re not living me again…Never!!” He said.
Alex hold my hands tight as he fell asleep in my bed. I’ve caused him so much but he still forgives me and loves me. Why can’t I love him?, Why can’t I feel for him?
I could help but cry and feel sorry for him. I hug-ged him and went to sleep.
The next morning I was afraid to open my eyes……I don’t want to end up in that world again.
“Nina….I know you’re awake!” I heard Alex voice.
“Alex?” I whispered and slowly opened my eyes. He was smiling at me.
“Good morning my love!” He said and captured my li-ps. “I fu-cking missed you….you’re not living me again” he said.
I was so happy but my tummy began to hurt. I knew it’s time for me to go back. Back to my fate.
I broke the hug and walk to my shelf. I brou-ght out the ring and gave it back to him.
“Nina…..?”
“Ask me again Alex….ask me to.marry you!…, Let me give you my answer!” I said crying. Alex smiled. He went down on one kneel and asked.
“Will you marry me Nina?”
“Alex….. you’re the best man in the world….in my world…..I wish I could love you but….am tired of deciding you….am sorry Alex….”
“Nina don’t!!!, No don’t say it!” He said and stood up. Turning his back at me.
“I can’t marry you…..” I said and his shoulders drop.
“Why?” He asked. The pains in my stomach was getting worse.
“Ca….. cause I I don’t love you!” I said.
“Why?” He asked. I fell on my knees and he turn around.
“I don’t know…..I have to go” i stood up and walk towards the door.
“Nina…..” He ran after me. He finally cut up with me at the door leading outside. “I don’t care if you don’t love me…..as far as I love you it’s fine for me….”
“Well it’s not for me Alex…….just forget about me….. please”
“No!!…., I’d never forget about you…..you’re just stressed….let’s go back inside the room and…….”
“Aaaahhhh” i screamed.
“Nina are you alright?” He asked holding my arms. I push him away and ran outside. I look back and he was running after me….. I ran into a dark corner and closed my eyes.
“Am sorry Alex…..I hope you never Forgive me”………………….

The palace was in chaos. Everyone began to search for Nina but she was no where to be found.
Meanwhile Kai was relaxed. He didn’t care at all…..he prayed they never find her.
Victoria ran to and fro she didn’t rest. When the guards return without Nina she began to cry.
The king told Victoria to go take her rest.
Victoria got to her room. She was shocked when someone drag her to her bathroom.
“Tori (Victoria)” only one person calls her that and that person is Kai.
“Kai!” She called. She was so happy he was here, she was happy Nina was gone but her face remain motionless. Kai pulled her close and started ki-ssing her. She whine and push him away. She landed a slap on his face.
Truth been told Victoria cannot start close to Kai for a along time. With the little time she spend with him she’ll catch a cold.
“Why are you here…..?”
“Tori I missed you ….I….”
“Kai…. stop…..”
“Tori I don’t want to get married to any other girl but you….I love you!” Kai yelled. “I know you love me too”
“Kai…. you’re getting married tomorrow…..your bride is missing….you shouldn’t be here!” She said.
“I don’t care about her….I won’t marry her if you don’t want me to” Kai said and Victoria’s eyes widen. “Just tell me not to marry her and I won’t”
“Am sorry Kai but I have nothing to do with your life matter… Whether you marry her nor not….I don’t care” she lied.
“Tori…you don’t care?….., Fine then….bye” he said and went out throu-ghthe window. Victoria quickly rain and sit close to the fire. She wonder how Nina was able to stay close to Kai for that long. She felt so jealous. She wish she never come back. Nina was a naive girl…..even if she comes she’ll just use her to get even closer to Kai.
Kai belongs to her and no one else…….
Alex search for Nina but couldn’t find her.
“Nina……Nina!!!” He yelled. He can’t live without her…he loves her too much. “Nina please…..where are you….don’t hide from me please Nina …….you don’t have to love me…..I don’t care if you love me but just don’t leave me please!!!” He yelled.
He remembered what Kate told him. He had to see Kate….. maybe she knows something.
I opened my eyes. So many children surrounded me. I jump up.
“Who are you?” The blond little girl asked me.
“Who are you?” I asked back.
“I asked first….” She said rudely.
“Where am I? How did I get here?” I asked.
“Everyone move!!!” I heard a voice. It was that of a boy but he looks like the oldest of them all.
“She looks special” a little girl side. “Very special” she added. A dog ran to me and started lic-king my hands.
“Dumdum seems to like her….so she mean no harm” the boy side.
They took me into their tattered home, it was still raining heavily. They soon told me that they were street kids who either lost their parents or were abandoned.
“We go for begging…..to eat” on of them said.
“Sometimes we get money and food but most times we get none….” He added. They were all dirty and unkept.
“Since it’s the second prince marriage today we will have enough to eat” tge blond girl said smiling.
Then it hit me……the wedding….my suppose wedding.
“Who…..who is the prince getting married to?” I asked.
“I don’t know they said the bride went missing…….”
“You have to take me to the palace!” I yelled.
“Huh?…., Why?” He asked.
“Am the missing bride!” I said
Kai was so angry….why would his grandfather continue the marriage ceremony when without a bride.
“There’s still no news about her?” He asked.
“None your majesty” the knights answered.
“Let’s just put our faith in the gods….I know they have plans!”.
“Your majesty……we found her!!!!” A knight yelled from outside. Kai got even angrier. Victoria was a bit shock but quickly compose herself.
I ran into the palace. “Sorry am late” i said. I was soaked from head to toe by the ran. My eyes met Kai who wasn’t even looking at me….he’s as angelic as ever and as devilish as ever.
“Let’s go get dressed” Victoria drag me along. “Remember all I thought you….”.
Looking at the mirror I couldn’t believe myself. Is this really me?.
Seeing her beautiful Victoria dug her nails into her palms. She was so jealous. You won’t last long Nina…..I promise you.
Walking down the rose pedals everyone was in aww……but he never looked at me. The children waved at me. I wanted to wave back but remembered Victoria’s lesson. Well a little wave won’t hurt. I waved back at them and they jubilate.
Kai took the knife and cut his hands with it. He handed the knife to me. Victoria already told me about the marriage rite.
“Am sorry Alex” i whispered. I cut my hands with the knife too. Kai hold my hands.
Immediately his hands touch mine, the thunder rumbled. I felt electricity entering my body from his body. His hands was so warm.
“You shall now say after me”.
We repeat after the old man but Kai refused to say soon of the words. The little he managed to say his eyes were fixed on Victoria.
My chest tightened. I rub my chest and frown.
The wedding was finally over….I haven’t seen Kai my so called husband after the oath taking.
Eva moved me to Kai’s room. She wouldn’t dare enter and i understand.
I sat on the bed and remember Alex…..I feel bad for him but I had no choice. I hated myself for doing that to him……
“Don’t get your hopes up!” His cold voice echoed in the big room. I look up and found Kai seating on his table. How did he get in here?, Oh I forgot…..he had powers.
“My hopes up in what?” I asked.
“I don’t know the powers you’re using to be able to touch me and stay bear me but I promise I’ll expose you…if you dare use black magic”
“I don’t even know what you’re talking about!” I cut in.
“I already have someone in my heart…..so you’re just a wife by status…you mean nothing to me” he said.
“I guess we are even……all I want is to go back home….don’t worry once an gone you can be with her” i said.
“So you have someone in your heart too?, That’s great…..good night” he said and walked to the bed.
“You shouldn’t sleep in the same bed with me!” I yelled.
“Shut up!” He whispered.

The rain kept on falling none stop.
I thought about the children…..i have to help them…..I fell like am connected to them…..
“Your heart is worried and it’s killing me!!!” Kai yelled.
“Mind your own business!” I fire back.
“You know nothing little girl……!!” He said and stood up.
“Who are you calling little girl….???” I yelled but he was long gone……………….
