AMUSEMENT PARK**

“AURORA, GET OUT OF THE WAY!” Diamond screamed but it was already too late for her to do anything to save the kid.

Aurora stood frozen on the spot, staring at the horse running towards her in fast motion.

????Get out of the way!

????Someone needs to save the child

Gasps and screams flew past the field.

Just as the horse was going to knock her down, a guy pulled her out of the way.

The horse continued running however, people were drawn to the kid and the guy who had saved her.

“Are you okay?” He asked her.

Paige and Zara rushed to them.

“Aurora, are you alright?” Zara asked, breathlessly.

The kid slowly nodded her head, still in shock over what just happened.

“Come here,” Paige embraced her, tears rolling down her face. Only God knows what their fate would have been if anything had happened to Aurora.

“Thank you so much,” Zara said to the guy who saved the little girl.

“It’s okay.” He smiled and walked away.

Diamond slowly approached them.

“Why didn’t you leave the way!?” Diamond snapped, startling Aurora, Paige, and Zara.

“Oh, my God.” Zara breathed out. “Calm down, Diamond, will ya?”

“Don’t tell me to calm down. I asked her to leave the way. I…” She started crying.

“Nanny, I’m okay.” Aurora said.

“You’re okay? How can you say that? You almost got run over by a damn horse!”

“But she did not.” Paige said.

“God. What would I have done if something bad had happened, huh?”

“I’m sorry for not listening to you, nanny.” The kid apologized, guiltily.

“What happened?” Lottie asked, walking towards them.

“Auntie,” Aurora went to her.

“Hey. Are you alright? Did something happen?”

Diamond ran her fingers throu-ghher hair. “Let’s go home.” She started walking away, wiping off the tears on her face.

Zara and Paige immediately followed her.

“Nanny!” Aurora also ran after them, leaving Lottie behind.

Lottie clenched her fist and stared after their retreating figures.

“They are doing it again. They are fuc-k ing doing it again.” She gro-aned furiously.

7:45PM★DIEGO’S HOUSE**

Felix unlocked the door and helped Layla in.

“I don’t get why you insisted on getting discharged.” He said, closing the door.

“Says the person who left the hospital without receiving proper treatment. Don’t you sound like a hypocrite right now?” She rolled her eyes.

Felix chuckled. “Very funny.”

They sat down on the couch.

“How do you feel?”

She shrugged. “A little bit better? I have Rosa to thank for that.”

“Yeah. She was amazing today.”

“I know, right? Too bad she had to leave for work.”

“Yeah…”

Layla studied his face closely. “You don’t seem happy.”

“What do you mean?”

“Are you sad that she didn’t stay any much longer?”

“What? No. I…Why would you even think that? Why should I be sad?” He gave out a nervous laugh, rubbing his palms over his thighs.

“Stop doing that?”

“Doing what?”

“That.” She gestured at his uncomfortable state. “You are making it so obvious.”

Felix bites his lower li-p. “Really?”

“Yes.” She nodded.

“Oh.”

She smiled. “Rosalie is a nice and pretty girl. I like her.”

“You do?”

“Mm-hmm. You’ve been acting differently and I’m certain it has something to do with her, right?”

He did not say anything.

“If you like her then go for her. Don’t hesitate because you might regret it.”

He let out a de-ep breath and lowered his gaze. “Do I deserve someone like her?”

“What?”

“I’m a bad guy, Layla. I hurt Diamond and you too. I… I don’t deserve Rosa. She’s too good for me.”

“What are you saying? Rosa is not Diamond and neither is she me. Why are you worried about that, huh? Or do you have it in mind to hurt her?”

“Of course not.” He shook his head.

“Then what’s the cause of the worry?” She grinned. “Tell her how you feel or it will be too late.”

He raised his head and look at her, having a sad look on his face.

“Don’t you hate me?”

“What?” The smile on her face disappeared.

“I am the reason for what’s happening in your marriage. You should hate me, Layla.” He stated.

“And then what happens?”

Felix furrowed his brows in confusion. “What do you mean?”

She shifted and turned her focus on him.

“Answer me, Felix. What happens if I hate you?”

“I…I…I don’t know.” He stuttered.

“If I hate you, will it bring back Diego?” She questioned. Felix did not know what to say so he stayed quiet. “Would it change anything that happened in the past? Do I need to remind you that I wasn’t forced to have s-ex with you? I chose my path. You are not the only bad guy here, Felix. I was a bit-ch to Diamond. I fuc-k ed her boyfriend and instead of showing remorse, I laughed at her face. Do I have any right to hate you? Do I have any right to be mad at Diego for leaving me and our baby?” She shook her head. “No. I don’t have such rights. However, if hating you would bring Diego back…I might reconsider.” She had a ghost smile on her face.

“What about Daria? Do you have any right to be mad at her?” He asked.

“She told Diego the truth. She betrayed me. She had no fuc-k ing right to do that.” She said, tears threatening to fall.

“Can I be honest, Layla?” She nodded her head, quietly. “Daria only did what anyone in her shoe would have done. She heard our conversation that day, she must have hated you at the point for hurting her boss. Anyone who hears this story will never be in support of you. If you can’t hate me then you should forgive her. Besides, you are also asking for forgiveness, how will get it if you can’t forgive, as well?”

Layla bites her bottom li-p and let go of the tears that streamed down her face.

“You are right.”

“Hey, don’t cry.”

She sniffled and wiped the tears off her face.

“I owe Rosa.”

“What?” He chuckled.

“You’ve changed totally. I can barely recognize you.” She smiled.

He nodded, rubbing the back of his neck. “She’s indeed a positive impact in my life, I’m not gonna lie.”

“I can see that.”

“Should I make you something to eat?” He asked, coming up to his feet.

“Uh…yeah.” She bobbed her head up and down as a yes.

Felix attempted to go but stopped and faced her once again.

“What is it?” She asked when she saw the serious look on his face.

“The letter.” He simply said. “You never told me what was written on it.”

She started fiddling with her fingers. “Actually, I didn’t read it.”

“You didn’t?” She nodded. “What? But you were focused on the letter for quite a long time. Are you sure you didn’t read it or you just don’t want to tell me about it?”

“I’m serious. I didn’t read it.”

“Why?”

She shrugged. “I felt too guilty. I was only brave enough to read the first line. I couldn’t go further after that.”

“What does the first line state?”

She hesitated. “ ‘Hi, Layla. I’m sorry, but by the time you read this letter…’ That was the first line.”

“Why didn’t you go further?”

“Because of the apology.” She answered. “I broke his heart and trust. I hurt him. So why was he sorry?”

Felix kept his li-ps in a straight line.

“And I began to wonder…can my sin be forgiven with the word ‘I’m sorry’? If Diego can apologize over every little thing then…then this sin of mine can’t be amended by a mere apology.” She sniffled. “I want to live, Felix. If not for me, at least for my baby.”

Felix sat down on the couch and held her in his arms.

“Can I do that?” She asked him.

“Of course.” He replied. “You can.”

“Then I should be happy for the sake of my baby.”

“You should be. You deserve to be happy.” He agreed.

It was silence.

“Hey, did I tell you?”

She creased her brows. “Tell me what?”

“Harold came back.” He said, changing the topic.

“Harold?” She pulled away from his arms. “Like Harold? The one I know?”

Felix laughed. “Yup.”

“Woah! Where has he been all this while?”

Ca-ssANO’S MANSION

Aurora, Paige, Lottie, and Diamond entered the house.

“You are back.” Evelyn smiled at them.

“Good evening,” Diamond greeted quietly and went upstairs without saying another word.

“Is she okay?” The old woman asked Paige.

Lottie held Aurora’s hand and led her upstairs, leaving the two maids to start their gossip.

“What happened? Why does everyone look unhappy?” She asked.

Paige sighed, running her fingers throu-ghher hair. “Something happened at the park.”

“What is it?”

The young maid looked around and shook her head. “We can’t have the conversation out here. Let’s go to the room.”

“Alright.”

*****

AURORA’S ROOM**

Lottie shut the door quietly.

“Come here, let me help you out of these shoes, okay?”

“Auntie?”

“Yes, dear.”

“Why is my nanny mad at me?”

“Don’t mind her. She’s just being unreasonable.”

Aurora frowned at Lottie, pursing her li-ps.

“I find that a bit offensive.” She muttered.

“Oh, really? Sorry.” Lottie faked a smile, taking off the child’s shoes. “I just…wanted to be honest.”

“I should go and apologize to her.”

“For what?”

“Um, I don’t know.”

“You should have your bath, come down for dinner and then go to bed after seeing your daddy, of course.”

“And what about nanny?”

“Let her be. I’m sure she doesn’t want anyone to disturb her and that includes you as well.”

Aurora looks so sad.

“I guess what happened earlier today must have frightened her.”

“She wasn’t the only one who was frightened. I was frightened too.” Lottie said.

“Auntie,”

“Yes?”

“Why do I feel so happy and at the same time…sad?”

“What?”

Aurora stayed quiet for a while, “My nanny called me by my name for the first time ever.”

“Huh?”

“ ‘Aurora, get out of the way!’” She grinned widely. “That was what she said.”

‘Ugh, will I ever get this unfortunate kid to hate that bit-ch ?’ Lottie thought.

“I see. You must be very happy.”

“I am.”

“Hmm. Do you need me to take off your dress?”

“No. I can do that myself. I am a big girl.”

“Sure.” Lottie stood up and left the room.

Aurora was about to take off her dress but didn’t.

She remembered the sad look on her nanny’s face and immediately, the little girl became unhappy.

“I should go and see my nanny first. I need to a-ssure her that I’m fine.”

LOTTIE’S ROOM**

Lottie entered her room and plopped onto the bed, anger boiling in her eyes.

How the fuc-k did her plan get ruined?

★FLASHBACK★

“Hello, Aria.” Lottie smiled, holding the phone against her ears.

“Lottie?”

“Yes, that’s me. What, did you delete my number?”

“No, I didn’t. You sound so different right no, that’s all. Wait, why are you calling me?”

“You are my best friend. What’s so wrong for me to call you?”

“I’m busy right now.”

“So what? You want to hang up the call, is that it?”

Aria gro-aned, a little bit frustrated. “What is the matter?”

Lottie sighed. “I don’t want to be here. I hate it.”

“Where are you talking about?”

“Here. The amusement park. I don’t want to be here. It infuriates and makes me angry.”

“Okay, I’m confused. What are you doing in an amusement park?”

“Well,” Lottie sat down on a bench, hanging her head low. “The bastard of a child suggested that we all go out.”

“Lottie, that was too harsh. She’s your niece.”

“Does it look like I care!?” Lottie snapped. “In fact, is that what should matter right now?”

Aria sighed. “Fine. Keep talking.”

“As I was saying,” She cleared her throat. “The maid, nanny, and the nanny friend alongside me and the child…we went out today to have some stupid fun.”

“Wow. That must have been…”

“Annoying!”

“I was going to say amazing. What happened?”

“I was treated like a fuc-k ing ghost. They didn’t even care about my presence. I was like an invisible fly. And guess what, the child didn’t even care. All of her attention was solely focused on that stupid nanny, can you imagine?”

“Calm down, Lottie. I thought you already know that the child is so fond of her nanny.”

“What about me? Do you know how nice I’ve been to her? Each time I see her, she reminds me so much of Diamond and I hate it.” She scoffed. “Speaking of Diamond….there’s something I haven’t told you yet.”

“What are you talking about?”

“Diamond…” Lottie’s voice trailed off as she caught sight of a man pulling the reins of a horse. “Aria, can I ask you a question?”

“Is the question related to what you were going to tell me?” Aria asked.

“Not really. Anyway, I’m going to ask the question…” Lottie paused. “What would happen if a horse knock down a child?”

“What sort of a question is that?”

“Just answer.”

“I don’t know. The child might fall unconscious or sprain an ankle or have a slight injury. I really don’t know. But why are you asking?”

“Nothing. I’m just curious.” She smirked. “But since you don’t have an answer…I think I should put it to a test. I will talk to you later.”

“Wait! What do you want to do, Lottie? Answer_”

Lottie hung up the call.

She stood up and approached the man.

“Hi.” She smiled.

“Hi, beautiful lady. How may I help you?”

“Can you do anything for money?” She raised a questioning brow at him, a smirk plastered on her face.

★END OF FLASHBACK★

She was this close to achieving her goal. She planned to hurt Aurora and make the nanny suffer the consequences from the boss but her plan got ruined.

“Argh!” She screamed, hitting the bed hard.

‡Cli-p OF THE PAST‡

“How? How can you get pregnant at a time like this!?”

“I’m sorry.” Elodie cried, going to her knees. “I’m so sorry, mother.”

“You’re sorry?” The woman scoffed. “What is your apology going to fix, huh? We can barely feed ourselves. Can’t you see how poor we are? We are struggling! And yet, you go out there to get pregnant. What were you thinking!?” Anger glistened in her eyes.

“Believe me, it’s not my fault. He ambushed me and ra-ped me, I swear.”

“Why you? Were there no other girls? Why must it be you?”

“I don’t know.” Elodie screamed, getting frustrated already. “I’ve been asking the heavens the same question but they are not saying anything.”

Tears streamed down the woman’s face but she quickly wipe them off, sniffling.

“You are going to terminate that pregnancy.” She said after a moment of silence.

Elodie’s eyes went wide and she look up at her mother.

“What?”

“You are going to get rid of that thing in your womb.” She reiterated, furiously.

“Bu…but I might die if anything goes wrong.”

“Then die.” She said menacingly. “What is the point of being alive if you are only going to bring me disgrace and pain, huh?”

“I should die?” Elodie repeated, standing up. “I should die?” Fresh tears streamed down her face. “How can you say this to me?”

“How can I not?” Her mother fired back. “Look around you,” She gestured at the house. “What do you see? Answer me!”

“What do I see?” Elodie sniffled. “I see a woman who doesn’t give a shit about her daughter.”

“What did you just say?”

“You heard me. Do you think I like what happened to me? Do you think I’m enjoying what’s going on? She paused, and her frustrations and pains turned into anger. “I was the one who was ra-ped. I was the one who got hospitalized for two weeks. I was the one who was abused and used for the plea-sure of that jerk. He took my vi-rginity away from me. He used me and he enjoyed every second of it. While I was crying for him to stop, he was laughing at my pathetic face. I was the one who got traumatized by that incident and I still am!” She cried bitterly. “And now, I am pregnant with his child. Why should I be the one to get punished? He was the one who hurt me but why am I getting the punishment instead? I thought I will be able to move on from the scar but how can I, when it is right here.” She placed her palm on her stomach. “Do you think I don’t want to get rid of it? Do you think I want to have this baby? The child is not yet born and I hate it already. Look at me,” She stretched out her arms full of red marks. “I did this to myself. Why? Because I want to get rid of anything that has to do with that bastard. His touch, his smell, his ki-sses…I can still feel them and it makes me feel so filthy. I want to get rid of everything that has to do with him…” She chuckled bitterly. “but here I am pregnant with his child. I hate it. I hate this child. I hate him. And I hate myself.” She dropped to the floor. “But even with everything,” She shook her head. “I don’t want to die.”

Her mother silently cried. “You are not going to die and I’m sorry for saying that you should die. You are my daughter, Elodie and I love you so much.” She knelt in front of the crying girl and cupped her cheeks. “But here is the truth, you will never love this child. The scar and memory will always lurk around the baby and that will build your hatred toward him or her. I don’t want you to give birth to my first grandchild with hatred and pain. You have to get rid of it to prevent that from happening, please.”

“I…I don’t want to die.”

“You are not going to die. A lot of people have done this ab-ortion of a thing and not all of them are dead.” She said.

Elodie sniffled. “But some of them died, right?”

“How about we look at the positive aspect, huh?” She pulled the whimpering girl into her arms. “Everything will be okay as long as this child is not born into this world.”
