DIEGO’S HOUSE**

Diego drove inside the compound and alighted from the car.

He walked towards the door and was about to twist the doorknob open when someone beat him to it from inside.

Daria pulled the door open and immediately her eyes went wide when she saw her boss standing in front of her.

“Bo…Boss,” She stuttered.

“Where are you heading off to?” He asked, glancing down at the bag she was holding.

“I’m going to the hospital.” She answered.

“Hospital? Are you sick?”

She shook her head. “No, sir.”

He creased his brows. “Why then are you going to the hospital?”

“Well…uhm, you see…” She lowered her gaze.

“Daria,” He called out.

She looked up at him. “Sir?”

“Are you okay?” He questioned, giving her the ‘I’m not sure you are okay’ look.

She nodded. “Yes, sir.”

“Who is in the hospital?” He asked again, seeming to be interested.

“It’s…” She hesitated. “Ma’am Layla.”

His face dropped alongside his heart. “What?”

“Your wife has been hospitalized since you left yesterday, sir. I tried to reach out to you but your phone was switched off.” She said.

“What?” He gasped. “How…Why? fuc-k !” He gritted throu-ghclenched teeth. “What have I done? What happened to her? Which hospital did you take her to?”

“Your best friend’s hospital. While she was screaming for you to come back that was when she fainted.”

“Oh, my God.” He gro-aned. “fuc-k , let’s go to the hospital.” He turned around and headed towards the car but suddenly stopped walking.

“Sir, what is the matter?” Daria asked.

“Is he there?”

“Who?”

“Layla’s best friend. I don’t want to mention his name. Is he there?”

She kept her li-ps in a straight line and nodded her head.

“You can go to the hospital,” He said, turning around to go back into the house.

“Bu…but…”

“I don’t think I should be there. Besides, her real lover is there. Anyway,” He took out an envelope from his back pocket and gave it to the maid. “give that to her when she recovers.”

“Sir, I know you are still mad at her for what she did but…but can’t you forgive her? She made a mistake and she’s sorry for what she did. She_”

“You seem to be forgetting your place, Daria.” Diego cut her off, rudely. “Who are you to interfere in my marriage?” He shot daggers at her throu-ghhis eyes.

“I’m so sorry, sir.”

“You should be. You are the reason why everything is a mess. If you hadn’t told me the truth, I would have been clueless but still, be together with her. Everything would have been_” He sighed. “Just go.”

Daria was about to leave when she remembered a piece of information and good news for her boss.

“Sir, there is something you need to_”

“I said go!” He cut her off and angrily goes inside the house.

“Your wife is pregnant with your child.” The maid whispered but her boss was already gone. “Jeez.”

HOSPITAL**

“Hi.” Rosa entered the ward.

Felix stood up and walked towards her, smiling.

“Good morning.”

They both hug-ged.

“I’m sorry for not coming last night after you called. I was quite busy.”

“You don’t need to apologize. You are here now.”

“What happened to her?” She asked, staring at Layla who was still sleeping.

“Nothing much. The doctor a-ssured us that she would be fine.”

“I see. Why are you the only one here?” She looked around.

“Her maid left early this morning. She went to make homemade food before her madam wakes up. While Harold had to leave for work.”

“Harold?”

“Oh. Didn’t I tell you about my friend?”

“You had a friend aside from Layla?” She was shocked to hear that.

Felix chuckled. “Yeah. Now don’t be surprised. You are also a friend, remember?”

“Ah, yes.” She dropped her bag alongside a plastic bag on the table. “I brou-ght fruits.”

“Really? Thank you so much.” They sat beside each other. “I’m kinda hungry.”

“Then I should start peeling the apples.” She opened the plastic bag and took out five apples. “What about her husband?”

Felix sighed. “He hasn’t shown up.”

“What? Why? Doesn’t he know that his wife is hospitalized?”

“Nah. No one is able to reach him. His phone has been switched off.”

Rosa studied Felix’s face and figured that something was wrong.

“What happened, Felix? Layla is hospitalized and her husband isn’t here and you, you seem off. What’s going on?” She asked.

Felix stayed quiet for a while, “He found out about us.”

She gasped in shock. “What? How? When?”

He shrugged. “I don’t even know how to explain. It all just kinda happened in a flash.” He bites his lower li-p and hung his head low. “I don’t know where to start.”

She scooted closer to him. “Start from the beginning. I have no work to do right now aside from peeling these apples.” She stroked his back softly. “I’m here to listen to everything you have to say and I promise not to judge.”

Felix raised his head to look at her, a smile playing at the side of his li-ps.

“Why are you so amazing?”

She chuckled. “I don’t know. But, thank you for the compliment.” She started peeling one of the apples.

“I don’t want to bore you with my problems.” He whispered.

“Oh please. I want to be bored, don’t worry. Unless…” She narrowed her eyes at him. “you don’t want to tell me what happened.”

“No, I want to. I really want to. Honestly, it’s one of the reasons why I asked you to come over.” They were both staring at each other. “You are the only one that understands me more than anybody in this world. Even my late parents were not this supportive.”

She cut out a piece of apple and shoved it into his mouth.

“So tell me. How did her husband find out? Who told him?”

Felix chew the apple in his mouth and then swallowed it. “Remember Layla called and asked us to meet at my house?”

“Of course. I had to leave to give the both of you some privacy.”

“Yeah.” He cleared his throat, sitting upright. “So…”

Ca-ssANO’S MANSION

DINING ROOM**

Diamond twirled around. “How do I look, kid?”

“Beautiful.”

“Aww.”

Lottie rolled her eyes. “We are in the dining room, you should know better than to do inappropriate things like this.”

Diamond took her seat beside Aurora and stared at Lottie, smirking.

“Why? Are you jealous?”

“Jealous?” Lottie scoffed. “Why should I be jealous of you?”

“I don’t know, maybe because I am more beautiful than you are. Or because I am se-xy, hot, amazing, sweet…your name them.”

“You wish.”

“Why would I wish for something I already have, honey?” She smiled with the side of her li-ps. “However, I think you are the one who wishes to be like me.”

“What?” Lottie riled up, glaring at the nanny.

Diamond chuckled. “You know, I always love the reaction I get from you.”

“Do not provoke me.”

“Nanny, Auntie.” Aurora cut in, staring between the two ladies. “We are supposed to be happy and not angry.”

“I am not angry, kid. Does nanny look mad?” Diamond grinned, displaying her white teeth. “Although,” She nodded her head at Lottie. “Aunt Lottie looks quite…mad.”

Aurora faced Lottie. “Auntie, can you not be angry at a time like this?”

‘Will you shut up?’ Lottie thought.

Her li-ps stretched into a completely fake smile. “Oh, darling. I’m sorry. It’s just that your nanny keeps pushing my bu-tton.”

Evelyn entered alongside Paige and two other maids. They set the food on the table.

“Why are you not dressed, Paige?” Aurora asked.

“I was helping Evelyn in the kitchen. I will go and get ready now.”

“Wait, why is the maid coming with us?” Lottie asked.

“Uh…because she is the nanny’s friend.” The kid answered. “Hope you don’t mind?” She asked Diamond.

“What? Of course not. I am so glad that Paige is coming with us. And oh, a friend of mine will be joining the outing as well.”

“Your friend?” Aurora questioned.

“Yes.”

“That’s amazing. I can’t wait to see your friend. I’m sure she’s as beautiful and amazing as you.”

“Oh, that she is. Believe me.”

‘I am so sick of this child and her damn nanny.’ Lottie screamed in her head, angrily picking at her food.

BFF’S APARTMENT**

“Where are you going to all dressed up?” Ayden queried.

“I’m going out,” Zara asked, brushing her hair.

“Where to? Last I remember, today is Saturday. And you usually spend a day like this with…” He paused. “Well, you know what I’m talking about.”

“New flash, the heavens sent an angel to rescue me from the boredom.” She grinned.

“Huh?”

Zara wore the crossed bag over her body. “Diamond called me this morning, we are hanging out!”

“What? She didn’t tell me anything.” Ayden frowned.

“Oops, I must have skipped a part.” She cleared her throat. “It is strictly for girls only. Sorry, boo.”

“This isn’t fair. Girls only? Really?”

“Hey, don’t be pained. After all, you still have Lake by your side. Unlike Diamond and I. Anyway, I’ve got to go. See ya!” She blew him a ki-ss and ran out of the apartment.

“Girls only?” Ayden pulled out his phone and sent a text to the group chat.

AYDEN: GIRLS ONLY? YOU BOTH BETRAYED ME. I WILL NEVER FORGIVE THE BOTH OF YOU!!!!

AYDEN: ????????.

Diamond and Zara read the message but they didn’t reply to it.

“Are they ignoring my message?” He asked himself.

Diamond started typing…

DIAMOND: ZARA, WHERE ARE YOU?

ZARA: I’M ALMOST THERE. ARE YOU ALREADY THERE WITH THE GIRLS?

DIAMOND: ALMOST.

ZARA: OKAY. TODAY IS GOING TO BE SO MUCH FUN.

DIAMOND: IT SURE WILL BE ????

ZARA:????????????

AYDEN: DIDN’T YOU TWO SEE MY MESSAGE?

They read it once again but did not reply.

AYDEN: HEYYYYY!

HOSPITAL**

“Oh, no.” Rosa exclaimed. “That’s very bad.”

“I know. And I blame myself for it.”

“Felix_”

“No,” He cut her off. “Don’t try to make me feel any better because I don’t deserve to.” He stared at Layla. “I feel so guilty.”

“Here,” Rosalie handed him another piece of apple and collected one for herself.

“Thank you.” He collected it and took a large bite.

The door opened, Daria and the doctor walked in at the same time.

“Mr. Felix.” Daria called in a calm voice.

“You are here. Did you bring the food?”

She gestured at the bag in her hand. “Of course.”

“How is she doing?” The doctor asked, stepping close to Layla.

“I don’t know, doc. But, when is she supposed to wake up?”

“She ought to have already_”

Layla’s eyes slowly fluttered open.

“Ah, she’s finally awake.” The doctor smiled. “Hi, Layla.”

Felix sprung up to his feet and went to stand by her side.

“Hey, how are you?”

She didn’t answer but looked around her surrounding, frowning when she couldn’t find Diego.

“Where is he?” She asked in an inaudible voice.

“What?” Felix and the doctor asked at the same time.

“Where is my husband?” She asked again, sitting upright and frantically looking around.

Felix bites his lower li-p while the doctor sighed, avoiding her gaze.

“Why is no one answering me?” Her eyes came upon Daria. “Daria, where is Diego?”

“Ma…Ma…”

“He didn’t leave me, right? He is here, huh?” It was silence. “ANSWER ME!” She screamed. “WHERE IS MY HUSBAND!?”

“Layla, calm down.” Felix said, wrapping his arms around her but she struggled to push him away.

“LEAVE ME. BRING ME DIEGO. HE DIDN’T LEAVE ME, RIGHT? HE WOULDN’T LEAVE ME.” She cried.

“Layla, please stop hurting yourself.”

“DIEGO!” She screamed, still struggling to get out of Felix’s hold.

“Don’t just stand there, do something.” Felix said to the doctor.

“I have to sedate her.” He said.

“Then do it before she hurts herself and the baby.”

Layla’s mind was too focused on Diego that she didn’t hear what Felix had just said.

Rosa watched them quietly, she was almost on the verge of crying.

“Ma’am, please.” Daria sobbed.

The doctor immediately injected Layla in the right arm.

“DIEG…” She became unconscious.

Felix lay her comfortably on the bed and covered her up.

“I have to do something.” He started walking towards the door.

“Where are you going?” Rosa asked but Felix ignored her and left the ward. “Felix, hold on!” She snatched her handbag and ran after him.

The doctor let out a de-ep breath.

“Can you stay with her?” He asked the maid.

“Of course.” She nodded her head, sniffling.

“Okay. Good.” He left the ward as well.

Daria sat down beside her madam and dropped the envelope Diego had given to her on the table while she placed the bag of food on the floor.

“I’m sorry, ma’am. This is all my fault. I’m so sorry.” She pleaded in tears.

IN FRONT OF THE HOSPITAL GATE**

He parked in front of the hospital, contemplating whether to drive in or not.

“Is she okay?”

“fuc-k , did I take things too far?”

“I’m so worried.”

He was about to open the door but stopped.

‘Why should I go in? The love of her life is already there. So what’s the point?’ He thought to himself. ‘I should just leave.’ He turned on the ignition of the car and drove away from the hospital.

PARKING LOT**

“Felix, where are you going to?” Rosa asked, grabbing a hold of his wrist.

“I need to look for that bastard.” He snarled, yanking his hand from her grip.

“If you are talking about her husband, where do you want to look for him? Didn’t you say his phone has been switched off?”

“I don’t care. If I have to go round Las Vegas, then I’m going to do it.” He said.

“Felix, you need to stay calm.”

“Stay calm? Didn’t you see what happened in there? I was freaking scared that she was going to drop dead.” He said, breathlessly.

“I understand and trust me, I wish I can help as well. But we can’t do things rashly. Her husband must be somewhere, wallowing in pain. He was heartbroken, betrayed, and hurt. Do you think he isn’t going throu-ghsomething much worse than what your best friend is going throu-gh?”

“I don’t care. Layla needs him right now. And so does his unborn baby. He should be here for them. I am the one who doesn’t deserve his forgiveness. I fuc-k ing caused everything!” He crouched down, lowered his head, and began to cry. “I felt so bad for her in there. And then I began to wonder, how did Diamond feel when she found out about my unfaithfulness? Did she go throu-ghthis kind of pain? How was she able to survive? I must have hurt her badly I…oh, fuc-k !”

Rosa knelt in front of him and hug-ged him, tears rolling down her face.

“It’s okay.” She whispered.

Felix quickly wrapped his arms around her petite body, crying uncontrollably.

“I am a bad person. I hurt those around me.” He cried.

“You are not a bad person, Felix. Please stop crying.” She sobbed quietly, stro-king his back softly.

AMUSEMENT PARK**

“Zara!” Diamond squealed as they hug-ged.

“Hi, bit-ch .” Zara chuckled.

“How have you been?”

“I’m good.” They pulled apart. “Oh, you must be Aurora.” She said, staring at the little girl.

“Yes. And you must be my nanny’s best friend.”

“Yeah.”

“I was right. You are beautiful just like her.”

“Aw. Thanks, honey.” Zara faced Paige. “Paige, right?”

Paige smiled and nodded. “Hi.”

“Hello. I’m Zara. It’s so nice to finally meet you.”

They both shook hands.

“And you too. Although, I didn’t hear much about you.” Paige mumbled, giving Diamond the ‘why didn’t you ever mention her to me?’ look.

“Oh, really? I feel so hurt right now.” Zara turned to look at Diamond but Diamond was purposely avoiding her gaze. “Stop avoiding my gaze and face me!”

Aurora chuckled. “Nanny, I didn’t know you were this afraid of your friend.”

“She knows I’m crazy, that’s why.”

Zara stared at Lottie and raised a brow. “Who are you?”

Lottie huffed. “Excuse me?”

Diamond leaned towards Zara and whispered in her ear. “I told you about her, didn’t I? She is the bit-ch .”

“Ah, that bit-ch .”

“Yes.”

“I heard that,” Lottie said, glaring at the two friends.

“Oops, not sorry.” Zara smirked. “Anyway, what are we going to do first?”

“Let’s ride a rollercoaster!” Aurora said excitedly.

“Let’s go!” Zara and Diamond let out at the same time, grinning widely.

“Yay.” Paige held Aurora’s hand and they both headed for the rollercoaster.”

“Wait for me!” Zara ran after them.

Diamond was about to go when Lottie stopped her.

“Miss Chase,”

“Ugh, what is it? I am not in the mood for your drama right now. I just want to have_”

“I see you are no longer curious about your past.”

“What do you mean?”

Lottie folded her arms over her chest. “You are not questioning me like you did the other time.”

“I don’t care about the past again.”

“Why? Because it hurts?” She raised a brow.

“Or maybe because it’s irrelevant.”

“You think?” She smirked. “Don’t fool yourself, Diamond. You are still curious and wondering what I am doing in your memory.”

‘She’s right.’ Diamond thought.

Lottie stepped forward towards the nanny and said, “In as much as I don’t want you to remember…I know that will be an impossible wish. But listen,” She leaned closer and whispered. “The day you remember or stand in my way again…I will be making another deal with the devil.”

‡Cli-p OF THE PAST‡

“You want to make a deal with me?” The hulking man asked, smirking at the girl with black hair.

“Yes.” She nodded, clenching her fist tight.

“I’m all ears.”

“Take me and let Lottie go.” The girl said, tears rolling down her face.

The man laughed, evilly. “Aw, that’s a very selfless deal. You amaze me, little girl. I would have loved to make a deal with you but, she already did.” He pointed at the brunette girl who stood beside him with her head lowered. “And guess what, I love her deal better.”
