“Whoa!, Great sight” Bluey smiled.
“Is this real?, You came here to hu-g or to treat?” Rhythm said.
“I’m getting the bu-tterflies” Yolanda smiled.
Starr kept holding Lotus’s face and she started calming down, thankfully her hold was on her hair, not any other pa-rt of her bo-dy.
“Starr” she whispered.
“Are you ok now?” He asked.
“Yes” she replied and he slowly released her.
She looked up and when he saw her eyes are back to normal, he smiled.
“Is something wrong?” Constance asked.
“No, actually…the liquid stung as a treated her li-ps, so she cried and I had to calm her down by hu-gging her that way” Starr lied.
“Yeah…that’s right” Lotus replied.
“The liquid doesn’t sting that much, but I un-derstand, you’re fragile so…” Bluey smiled.
“But why didn’t you punch Ophelia?, You almost gave her” Yolanda asked.
“I just changed my mind in the last minute, if I had punched her, she’d lose her face” Lotus smiled.
“Are you Superman or something?, Don’t tell me your punch is like Thor’s hammer” Constance said and Starr laughed.
“Are you guys done?” Rhythm asked.
“Of course” Lotus replied and they all left the ward.
“Why aren’t you talking?” Bluey asked, hanging his arm on Martin’s ne-ck.
“Nothing” he replied, pocketing the hairband.
Starr kept taking slow peeks at Lotus as they walked, wondering what just happened.
He’s a coward when it comes to shocks and normally he should have freaked out and probably faint when he saw her blue eyes but he wasn’t scared.
“That’s crazy, what entered me?” He asked himself.
“What’s she?, An angel?, Is she really a fallen angel?” He wondered.
They got to cl@$$ and met Mr Roger in cl@$$ already, with Miss Stacy this time.
All the students are prese-nt already.
“Why the lateness?” Mr Roger asked strictly.
“Lotus got wounded and we had to go treat her” Yolanda replied.
“Wounded?, That’s bad, Lotus are you ok?” Miss Stacy asked and Lotus stepped forward.
“I’m fine now”
“Oh your li-ps, it must hurt a lot”
“No I’m really fine, I’m sure it’ll heal up before tommorow” Lotus smiled.
“It should better do, cos…. you’re leading the singers at the president’s son birthday!” Miss Stacy announced.
“I knew it!” Constance smiled.
“Miss Stacy you don’t like it when wounded people sing” Ophelia protested.
“She said it’ll heal before tommorow, she might be a fast healer, who knows” Stacy replied.
Ophelia made to talk again but her hand stung
“Ou!” She gasped, holding it down.
“President’s son?” Lotus asked.
“Oh, yeah” Mr Roger replied.
“President Tan Min is hosting a birthday pa-rty for his son who’s arriving from California with his girlfriend next week” miss Stacy further explained.
“The school got an invite to se-nd some talented students over, to entertain with their talents, next week Tuesday” Mr Roger said.
“And that includes Martin, Lotus, Constance from the singers depa-rtment” Miss Stacy said.
“But I want to sing too! I wanna attend the pa-rty!” Ophelia spranged up once again.
“Sit down!” Mr Roger said.
“How can I sit when you guys are cheating me!, I’m still one of the best if I’m not the best anymore!” She yelled.
“Are you the teacher here or us?” Miss Stacy said and Ophelia sat back angrily.
“And Rhythm will pla-y the piano” Mr Roger said.
“I knew I wouldn’t get chose-n” Starr said.
“You and Ophelia didn’t get chose-nthis time around cos you guys attended more functions that us till now” Bluey said.
“And all the violinists will be attending” miss Stacy said.
The violinists screamed for joy
“That’s because he loves the violin the most, so everyone mentioned, we’re meeting at the practice studio tommorow and Sunday, 9am” Miss Roger said.
“Let’s start the cl@$$” miss Stacy said and they all went silent.
Ophelia glared hatefully at Lotus throu-ghout, wishing she could kill her permanently.
AN HOUR LATER**
Cl@$$ ended and the students trooped out in groups, making their way to the park.
Starr suddenly grabbed Lotus’s hand and drew her out of the cl@$$, annoying Ophelia more.
“It’s already unfair that you won’t be singing at the pa-rty, but now Starr is all over Lotus, I just want to kill her” Floyd said.
“You just said my mind, everyone is saying she’s perfect, I wanna make sure she turns imperfect” Lilac replied.
“You guys should stop messing with my head!, Shut it!” Ophelia barked and took her backpack, she stormed out of the cl@$$.
“Let’s go!’ Floyd said, running after her.
Lilac followed and Yolanda laughed.
“The only thing they nee-d to be more recognizable as dogs is chains, I mean…. how can they be so idiotic, they follow her everywhere like dogs…oh gosh!”
“You know… Ophelia’s parents are richer than their parents, they want to gain fame I think, and that’s not gonna work cos she’s obviously using them, she talks so lowly about Floyd” Rhythm said.
“It’s just great that we’re all gonna attend the pa-rty, I’ll get to see the president’s son gosh!, A lifetime achievement!, I’ve always had a big crush on him” Constance said, holding her che-st.
“Let his girlfriend catch you, heard she’s hot tempered” Yolanda said.
“I’m just crushing, lemme crush in peace, anyways I can’t wait to see that handsome guy in person, I follow his Instagram page and I’ve seen his picture with his girlfriend a lot of times but that can never be like seeing him for real!” Constance said.
“She’s going crazy” Rhythm laughed.
“By the way where’s Lotus?” Yolanda said .

STAIRS BASE**
Starr got there with Lotus and let go of her hand, they started looking at each other.
“What are we… doing here?” She asked.
“Are you seriously asking that right now?, I nee-d an explanation about why your eyes shone blue” he said.
“Nothing about it” she replied.
“Nothing about it?, Cut it please, just tell me what that means” he said seriously.
“Can’t you just forget about it?” She said.
“I don’t want to” he replied, coming closer.
“Don’t come closer” she said.
“Why?, Am I a virus?” He said.
“No but…
“Then tell me what you are” he said.
“I’m not human” she replied and his eyes wide-ned.
“What!”
“Yes, that’s all I can say for now” she said and ran upstairs.
Starr leaned on the wall, dropping his arm.
“She’s….not human?, Was that a joke?, No it’s not” he said to himself.
Lotus got back to cl@$$ and got her backpack before rushing to the park.
The guys are waiting.
“Where have you been?” Yolanda asked.
“I’m sorry but I was talking with someone” she replied.
“Who?” Constance asked.
Starr appeared and she quickly got in her car.
Nam-Ri appeared and drove her off.
“What’s up with her?” Rhythm said.
“Nothing I guess” Starr replied.
“Were you the one she was talking with?” Martin asked.
“Yeah, we were just talking randomly” Starr replied.
“Did you ask her out?’ Bluey asked, looking at him closely.
“I was thinking about that too, maybe that’s why she left quickly when you came” Constance replied.
“Nothing like that” Starr smiled.
“So only Starr won’t be coming to the studio tommorow, I’ll miss you” Rhythm pouted.
“Silly girl, pla-y the piano well” Starr replied.
“Of course, trust me” she winked .
“I’ll see you guys on Monday!” Starr said.
“Not Monday, I and Martin will crash in your place after practice on Sunday” Bluey said.
“Ok guys!, Bye!” He replied and got in his car.
Everyone else got into their cars and left school.

LUTHER’S MANSION**
Martin hoped his dad won’t be around as he stepped into the house and his hope worked, he’s not in but what he saw broke his heart.
His mum’s face is swollen again.
“Mum!” He rushed to her.
She’s busy making food since Mr Luther refused to hire maids.
“Martin…how was school?” She asked, smiling.
“What happened again?, Why did he do this to your face again?” He said hurtfully.
“Don’t worry about me, I’m used to it” she replied.
“Mum …
“Go into your room and get changed, I’ll soon be done with your food* she said.
“I’m not hungry!, How can I be hungry when…
She hu-gged him, stopping him from talking again.
“I’m fine trust me, we just have to keep enduring cos of finances, this will end soon” she said.
“I can’t see the end” he replied, hu-gging her back.
“I do, trust me” she replied.
He got the kit and treated her face before going to his room..
He changed from his uniform and sat on the bed, thinking about his messed up life.
His mum is enduring cos of him, he’s enduring too cos….he really wants to go to school but it’s becoming too much.
He closed his eyes, took a de-ep breath before opening it again then the memory of how Starr hu-gged Lotus the other time flashed in his head.
He stood immediately and left the room.

LOTUS’S MANSION**
“You haven’t told me what actually happened mermaid” Anita said as she watched Lotus swim in the pool.
She has been swimming since she came back from school and hasn’t talked to her.
She dived in again and stayed un-derwater without talking.
“I’m curious!, What exactly is going on!” Anita said anxiously.
Lotus came out and rested on the pool wall, Anita squ-atted in front of her.
“I found my soulmate” she said.
“Really?, Wow!, Who’s he?, A merman?”
“A human, the boy in my school” Lotus replied with a slight pout, her li-ps healed already.
“Starr?”
“Yes, I almost ki-ssed him when he tou-ched my face, I almost lost control” she replied and Anita smiled.
“Then you should have ki-ssed him and seal the bond, why did you resist?, I’m sure he’s feeling the sparks too” she said.
“I’m not sure since he’s a human, I can’t just seal the bond that way, humans believe in mutuality, I have to make it mutual first, but I’m scared”.
“About what?” Anita asked.
“The fact that he’s a human, isn’t this pa-rt of why goddess Rivera said I have a cruel fate?, There must be something attached to him about her warning” Lotus heaved.
“Why don’t you ask the goddess herself?” Anita suggested.
“She’s a deity who won’t tell you something just because you asked, she says it whenever she feels like it’s time” Lotus replied.
“That’s sad, but do you think you’ll be able to control the sparks forever?, That’s an obvious no, a day will come when you’ll just destroy his li-ps with that hot ki-ss” Anita winked and Lotus splashed water on her face with her tail.
Anita giggled.
“Perverted ghost” Lotus smiled.
“So he now knows you’re a mermaid?”
“No, I just told him I’m not human” Lotus replied.
“Why don’t you tell him?”
“I can’t trust him to keep my secret yet, and I was chose-nto lead the singers at the president’s son birthday pa-rty on Tuesday next week” Lotus replied
“OMG!!, You must dress to kill to the pa-rty, I’ll definitely follow you I can’t wait!” Anita screamed.
“Practices starts tommorow anyways, but why don’t we visit the rehab first” Lotus smiled.

REHAB**
Lotus appeared with Anita and they entered.
Each room has at least one crazy person who’s already out of his or her mind, saying gibberish so the place is loud .
The staffs are busy running around, trying to keep the patients in che check.
“There” Lotus pointed to a ward and they walked to it.
Inside the ward is Do Hyun, she’s screaming loudly, telling her dad to get away from her.
“Ghost!!!, Get away from me!!, Go away!!!!, Don’t come closer!!!”
“It’s me, your dad, Do Hyun come back to your se-nses” Mr Do said in tears.
“Go away!!!!, I hate ghosts!, Please stay away from me!!!” She screamed again, gluing herself to the wall.
Mr Do wiped his tears and his wife came in.
“Please go out!!!!, Leave me alone!!!” Do Hyun screamed again.
Mr Do held his wife.
“She’s not getting better, we nee-d to leave before she starts hurting herself again” he said and started p-ulling her out but he stopped when he got to the door and saw Anita and Lotus.
He stepped back.
“What’s wrong?” Mrs Do asked, looking at him.
“You….you….you’re dead” he said, pointing at Anita.
Mrs Do couldn’t see them.
“Who are you talking to?” She asked.
“You’ll reap everything you sowed” Anita said.
“She spoke!, Ghost!, Ghost!, Ghost!” He yelled out, running back into the ward, Anita appeared in front of him everywhere he turns to
“Honey! Honey!” Mrs Do called, chasing him around as he ran.
“Ghost!!!, Anita!!!!, She’s everywhere!!” He cried, still running.
Do Hyun resumed screaming too and Lotus left the place with Anita.
They landed back home and Anita asked the question with her eyes.
“Your split image will appear everywhere he turns to, either left or right, behind or ahead… he’ll be tortured just like his daughter till they’ll turn themselves in to the police as killers” Lotus said and Anita hu-gged her.
“Saranghea eonni”
“na do saranghea dongsaeng” Lotus smiled.

THE MCDONALD’S MANSION**
Starr roamed around his room, thinking about Lotus again.
“What can she be?, An angel?, A gumiho?, No, gumihos have red eyes, not blue, I can’t even guess!” He said, falling on the bed.
“I’m restless, I just want to know what she really is” he pouted.
He remembered the girl in his dreams again.
“She has same voice and hair, but I just have to confirm the face….and oh!, The violin, the girl pla-ys the violin in my dreams but I’ve never seen Lotus pla-ying the violin, I have to find out” he said and stood.
He left the room and went to his mum’s room.
She was speaking on phone but she quickly cut the call when he came in.
“Honey!” She smiled.
“Mum what creature has blue eyes?” He asked.
“Blue eyes?, I have no idea” she replied.
“Gosh! ” He said and left her room.
He went back to his room and returned to the bed.
“She has no idea, … And I’m not going for practice..I guess I’ll be bored till death throu-ghout the weekend” he muttered.
******
NEXT DAY, PRACTICE STUDIO**
Lotus came with Anita and she has a lolli-pop in her mouth as they entered.
“Make sure you don’t make me talk unnecessarily” she said.
“Is Starr coming?, I nee-d to see how handsome your soulmate is” Anita replied.
“He’s not coming but he’s handsome” Lotus replied.
“Hey cu-pcake” Martin said behind them and Lotus turned back.
He immediately removed the lolli-pop from her mouth and in-serted it into his mouth instead.
“Who’s he?, He’s cute!” Anita gushed beside her.
“Shut up’ Lotus said silently.
“Huh?” Martin replied, lic-king the pop.
“Oh… good morning” Lotus smiled.
“Morning cu-pcake, good to see your li-ps healed already, but it’s fast” He said.
“I’m a fast healer” she replied quickly.
“Thanks for letting me steal your lolli-pop, let’s go in” he winked and went in first while she followed.
“Who’s he?” Anita whispered again.
“Martin, my friend” she replied.
“Who are you talking to?” Yolanda suddenly asked beside her.
“You scared me!, When did you get here” Lotus asked.
“Just now, I’m glad your li-ps healed” Yolanda replied and hu-gged her.
“Gosh I love your scent!” She said, inhaling it.
“Thanks” Lotus replied.
“Baby!” Bluey winked from the inside.
“Hey bud!” Lotus winked back and Martin smiled.
Her wink looks cute.
“Cutie!” Constance gave her an hu-g before taking her in.
Rhythm was already sitting in front of the piano so she just winked and waved which Lotus returned.
“Have fun!” Anita whispered as Mr Roger came in with Miss Stacy.
Lotus nodded and joined Constance and Martin.
The practice started and two hours later, they went for break.
“I’m so tired!” Lotus yawned .
“We brou-ght snacks, let’s share it” Constance said, p-ulling her out of the booth
“No I nee-d to pee first” she replied and rushed to one of the restrooms.
She peed and was walking back to the studio when she started feeling dizzy.
“What’s wrong?” Anita asked with concern.
“I didn’t swim this morning, I think it’s affecting me” she replied and leaned on the wall but it didn’t work.
She started feeling sleepy and too tired.
“Don’t fall asleep, don’t please!” Anita said as she started falling.
“Lotus!” Martin said from the entrance.
He ran to her and she fell into his arms .
“Hold me…” She whispered and closed her eyes.
He held her closely and she fell asleep.
