{ HER PRIZE }
It was a very dark room, with a ray of light peering into it through the high window.
A man could be seen standing in front of the light, his back faced on us and his face couldn’t be seen.
He had a phone on his ear as he stood there, “The job is done sir.” The caller said and the guy chuckled evilly.
“There’s no way he’s gonna survive the accident.” He said and the man nodded.
“Good job. I’ll send the rest of the payment.” He said and dropped the call.
He turned around, and his face came into view, he had an evil smirk on his face as he played with his phone in his hand.
“Jeffrey Zhang, you won’t know what hit you. I won’t rest until I make you pay for what you’ve done to me.” He said lowly, the hatred in his voice could be felt in his words.
He began walking out of the dark room, to his bedroom which had light in it.
He tossed his phone on his bed and started unbuttoning his shirt. He had a tattoo all through his right hand.
He also had a tattoo of his name, ‘Regan’ written by the side of his neck.
He pulled off his trouser as well and he was left with only his boxers. He grabbed his towel from his closet and began walking to the bathroom but his eyes caught something, the picture on the wall.
He slowly walked back and began staring at him. It was a picture of a young beautiful lady, who had a happy smile on her face.
His eyes slowly began getting wet as he stared at her.

“No, I’m not getting you any ice cream.” Regan objected as he walked with her.
It was a twilight.
“C’mon big bro, please. I love you!” The girl said pouting cutely, blinking her eyes.
“Nope.” Regan still didn’t change his mind.
Elena stopped walking with him, feigning anger and Regan sighed when he noticed she wasn’t following him.
“Seriously??” He asked but Elena didn’t reply.
“Alright, let’s go.” He said and she screamed in excitement like a kid.
Regan smiled walking with her to the ice cream shop. Elena is his only family and his kid sis, he loved her so much. She’s a high school student, and will be rounding up in a month and Regan was sponsoring her education since they’re orphan and they’re not rich.
“Two cups of ice cream.” Regan said to the ice cream vendor.
“Two?? I thought you weren’t gonna have it.” Elena pouted.
“I’m the one paying and I can get whatever I want.”
“Yeah whatever.” Elena rolled her eyes and took her gaze to the road. Her eyes widened when she saw the old man crossing the road and a car was approaching him in a very fast speed.
The car didn’t show any sign of slowing down and she shook her head.
“Here’s your-” She took to her heels, running to save the man.
She pushed him off the road and ended up getting by the car.
“Elena!!!!” Regan screamed.
Elena rolled on the car and fell down, bleeding seriously. The car stopped a little metres away from the scene, and drove away after about two minutes of wait.

Regan wiped the tears on his face. “I’ll make sure I avenge your death little sis. They’ll pay for taking you away from me.” Regan said clenching his fist angrily, imagining it as Jeffrey’s neck.

The sounds of sirens and panic screams filled the hospital as four stretchers carrying Jeffrey, his driver, his bodyguard and the other victim were wheeled in.
“Emergency ward! Doctors!!” The doctors rushed out of their respective office, carrying their coat which they put on as they rushed to the emergency room.
The accident was also broadcasted live on the TV.
Valerie was in the studio when the news appeared on the TV. Her eyes widened when she heard it.
Jeffrey!, Accident??
She wondered. How- how come??
She panicked in fear. “That’s sad, to think that a Zhang member is among.” Someone said and Valerie, immediately grabbed her bag and dashed out of the studio.

“June?” Ashley called when her silence was taking too long.
“You’re joking right?” June said asked, in a voice that sounds like a whisper.
“No I’m not June. I really do love you.” He said and made to hold her hand but she stepped away from him.
“Ashley you know I love someone else! There’s no way I could ever love so why telling me now?” She asked.
“I know, but-”
“I don’t love you Ashley. You’re just a friend to me.” She cut him off.
“I don’t wanna be just your friend June. I love you so much!” He confessed and June shook her head walking back.
“June??” He called.
“Listen here Ashley. Do away with whatever feelings you have for me. You’re just a friend, don’t spoil our relationship. Please!” She begged.
“If you really do love me like you claim, you will understand what I’m saying.” She said, before leaving the rooftop.
Ashley clenched his jaws, tears was in his eyes.
Fawn walked to the rooftop. Ashley folded his fist seeing him. He started walking out of the place without talking to him but his word stopped him.
“What did she say?” He asked and Ashley stopped walking.
Fawn walked up to him.
“Yunno, I never expected you to say that to her. You just ruined your friendship with her.” Fawn smirked and Ashley glared at him.
“You shouldn’t have done that. Tch!” He clicked his lips.

“Big bro?? Is- she your sister?” Alecia asked and Stella turned to her.
“Yeah, any problem?” Stella asked and Alecia mouthed an ‘O’, feeling embarrassed.
“I- you know what I’ll just leave.” She rushed her words and Leroy raised a brow staring at her.
A smirk splayed on his lips as realization struck him.
“Wait!, Who are you?” Stella asked, scrutinizing her.
“She’s my wife.” Leroy chipped in and Stella gasped.
“Really?? Oh my gawd!” Stella squealed rushing to her, she held her hands tightly.
“I’m so sorry for the harassment. I was only checking out for my brother’s wife, against any bítch who had an eye on him. I didn’t know you were his bride, I’m sorry.” She apologized and Alecia only smiled.
“It’s alright.” She said.
“Thanks. I’m Stella, sorry I couldn’t attend your wedding, I was out of the country and this big head brother of mine couldn’t wait for me before getting married.” She pouted and Alecia only flashed a smile.
She was literally embarrassed and the stares Leroy was giving her wasn’t helping matters.
“It’s alright.” She said and Stella nodded.
“I wish I could stay longer, but then I have a date with my boyfriend. Bye!” She rushed her words and ran out.
The moment she left, the atmosphere of the room began awkward for Alecia.
“Ermm, I’ll leave right now.” She rushed her words and made to leave when…
“The food? I guess it’s mine.” He said with a smirk, looking at the food flask and Alecia simply nodded.
She walked towards him and dropped it on the table and just went she made to leave, Leroy held her wrist, pulling her to him.
She gulped down nervously, looking at his chest, she couldn’t look up at him. She was really shy and embarrassed.
Leroy chuckled, he just find her calm side funny.
“So tell me, what were you thinking?” He asked and she cleared her throat.
“I- me- I wasn’t…” She stuttered and Leroy laughed.
“Really, when did the loquacious Alecia become a stammerer?” Leroy teased and she hit his chest.
“Stop it, I’m just-”
“You were jealous. Jeez.” He said and she flushed.
“You’re blushing? Really? So tell me, do you love me?” He asked and Alecia’s eyes widened, she looked at him for the first time.
“What? Cat got your tongue?” He smirked and forcefully pushed him and ran out of his office, completely embarrassed.
Leroy laughed, staring at the door. His hand went to his thumping heart and he smiled.
He couldn’t believe he was falling again.

Evie walked out of the just concluded meeting with her secretary who was pressing his tablet.
“Any other schedule for today Fred?” She asked and the bodyguard handed her his tablet.
“Ma’am, you have to see this.” He said, showing her the tablet.
Evie’s eyes widened.
“What! Jeffrey!” She screamed.
“Yes ma’am, he was involved in an-”
“Book me the latest flight to Sydney!” She ordered.
“Okay ma’am.”
“Now!!!” She shouted rushing off.

Valerie rushed into the hospital, panicking greatly, she had tears in her eyes.
“Jeffrey Zhang!” She said the moment she got to the receptionist.
“He was brought in here shortly and he’s currently undergoing treatment in the OR.” The receptionist said and she rushed off.
She got to the OR, and she could see the doctors working on him through the glass wall. Tears rolled down her eyes.
He shouldn’t díe, not yet. She hasn’t made him paid for what he did to her, he can’t díe! Nothing should happen to him.
She thought staring at him, and nurse walked over and brought down the curtains, preventing her from seeing them anymore.
June and Tessa rushed in just then.
“What happened to Jeffrey??” Tessa demanded and Valerie looked at them.
Few minutes later,
The doctor came out and the three rushed to him.
“Doc, how’s-”
“Are you his family member?” The doctor cut her off and June and Tessa nodded immediately.
“Well he lost a lot of blood, and needs a blood donor right away.” The doctor said with urgency in his voice.
“Okay. You could get blood from your bank. Money isn’t the problem.” Tessa said.
“That’s not the case. He’s blood is a very rare type to find, blood group AB- and we don’t have it right now.” The doctor said.
“What! What do you mean by you don’t have his blood type?” Tessa demanded.
“There’s no blood group AB- in our bank for now, it will be available in three days time.” The doctor said.
“So what are we gonna do? None of us is blood group AB-” June said.
Valerie looked at them, she had the same blood group as Jeffrey, AB-.
“You have to be quick about it, I’m afraid we don’t have much time to spare.” The doctor said and Tessa slapped her head.
“Where the heck is Evie??!” She muttered.
“I’ll donate my blood.” Valerie suddenly said, shocking them all.
“You’ll what?” June asked.
“I am blood group AB- so…” She said and they stared at her surprisedly.

“What! Accident?” Derek screamed the moment Anamika informed him on the phone.
“Sh*t!” He cussed.
“Valerie has gone to him. I just pray she doesn’t ruin any of the plan.” Anamika said and Derek sighed, ruffling his hair.
He was really worried but he couldn’t go.
“Have you heard anything from the hospital?? Is he alright??” He asked, panic could clearly be detected on his voice.
“Why- wait… Why are you this worried about Jeffrey instead of the plan flopping?” Anamika said and he sighed.
“Call Valerie Anamika.” He said.
“She isn’t picking my calls.” Anamika said and Derek sighed again.
She wasn’t picking his calls as well.
“Then go over to the hospital. Go and check up on the two of them.” He instructed.
“Is there something Valerie doesn’t know about?” She asked and Derek sighed and ended the call.

Fawn was sitting in the living room watching the news, he simply turned off the TV, not interested in the news.
He convinced himself that he doesn’t care if Jeffrey dies or not. He deserved it after all.
He picked up his phone, looking for what to do to keep him busy as he was extremely bored.
He sighed and tossed off the phone when he found nothing interesting to do with it.
He stared at the TV boringly before turning it on. He started searching for a channel but sighed tiredly when he found no show interesting.
He dropped the remote and rested his back on the chair, closing his eyes.
His eyes suddenly opened and as if remembering something. He grabbed his phone and began going through his contact list, he stopped at the contact which was saved as ‘Zhang’s devil’.
He was about pressing the dial button but he stopped himself as if remembering something.
What was he doing?? He wasn’t missing her, was he?

Immediately Valerie walked out of the room, June rushed to her. She just finished donating her blood.
She was holding her hand which she injected on. “Careful.” June muttered to her and she nodded.
“We’ll start the operation right away.” The doctor said to Tessa who nodded. Then he walked into the OR.
Tessa turned to Valerie who was staring at OR, tho the curtains were still down.
“State your prize.” She said and Valerie turned to her.
“How much do you want? I know you didn’t do this for free, so state your prize, I’m willing to pay.” Tessa said and Valerie scoffed.
“Mom.” June muttered.
“Yeah you’re right. I clearly didn’t do this for free, but you can’t pay me for it, so don’t ask me my prize.” Valerie said and Tessa looked at her.
“What prize??” Someone said and they all turned to see who it was…
