They all got downstairs.
The king was about to start his announcement.
“Everyone gather around. I want to make an announcement!!”
Everyone kept mute and listen to what the king had to say.
“Tch, that stupid box again” Rachel said.
“What’s in it?” Steph asked.
“Snake” Rachel replied.
“I love snakes” Steph said smiling.
Rachel stared at her and shook her head.

“In this box, there’s a snake. A snake that would tell who the next king is. But the prince have to find the wanted vir-gin. Only if he had sle-pt with her will be the next king”
Everyone started to murmur.
The king open the box and the snake crawled out.
Everyone was scared.
“Don’t worry, it doesn’t bite” he said.
The snake crawled pas-s everyone.
“Hey snakie snakie” Steph stupidly waves at the snake.
It moved his head and crawled away.
“Maybe the snake doesn’t like you” Rachel said laughing secretly.
“Shut it bit-ch” Steph replied angrily.
Irene watched the snake as it crawled round every one.
It was crawling towards her and the queen.
She wanted to walk away but she decided to stand still.
She loved snake but she didn’t want this one to t©uçh her.
She was the only one that could hear her heart beating.
The snake crawled on the Queen’s hand and raised the head.
Everyone was waiting to see what would happen.
The snake brou-ght his ton-gue.
As it quic-kly moved his head re-ady to strike.
Irene caught the snake by the head.
She returned the snake to the box and closed it.
Everyone was shocked.
They sighed.
“But the snake doesn’t bite” the king said slowly.
Irene smiled at the king.
“Mom”
“Mom”
Irene turned and saw the queen shaking.
The prince ran to the queen and caught her before she fall.
They took her to the room and called the doctor.
Irene was panicking.
The queen was unconscious alre-ady.
“What happened?” Garrett asked.
“I’ll go call off the p@rty now” Tony said and headed towards the door.
“No, don’t. Just tell them that the queen is fine. She is having some rest. And you all should go so they would believe the lie” the king said.
They all stared at their mother before leaving.
Irene stood up and wanted go.
“Except you Irene. Stay here with her. I’ll leave” the king said and left.
“My queen” Irene tapped her again if she would wake.
But she didn’t respond.
She placed her hand on her forehead to check if she was running temperature.
As Irene lift her hand, she felt something we-t on the Queen’s face.
“What’s this?” Irene asked herself.
She quic-kly s£nt for the king.

Few minutes later, the king walked into the room.
“Has she woken up?”
“No my queen, I found this on her face” he showed the king.
It was a little bit sticky.
“Oh my, the rumor was true” the king whispered.
Irene was staring at him.
“What’s true? My king”
“The venom of the snake…. The snake didn’t want to bite her. It wanted to cure her” the king said.
Irene eyes wi-de-ned.
Even if she didn’t un-derstand what he was saying. She was happy that the king would be be to normal soon.
The king used his f!nger to take small venom from her face and put it in her mouth.
Irene squee-zed her face.
“Ewww, there are a lot of crazy tradition around here”
She thought.
She thought as the queen has taken the venom, she could transform to snake woman like she watched in movies.
“Come on wake up” the king said slowly as he held her hand.
Suddenly, the queen eyes sh0t wi-de open.
She moved her head and saw the king and Irene staring at her.
“She moved her head!!!”
“My queen can you hear me?” Irene asked.
“Yes”
“Woahhh” they cheered.
Irene has never seen the king happy like that before.
“Thank goodness. You both should come down to the p@rty in a grand style. I’ll go prepare everything” Irene said and walked out of the room.
She went to the pianists to pl@ya ro-mantic song.
She went upstairs and made sure the queen was looking beautiful.
She helped her with her hair.
“I’m happy that you are back my queen”
“Oh Irene, I miss talking to you more. How’s everything?” The queen asked.
“That can wait to next time. Now, you have to go downstairs and dance with the king”
The queen said and stood up.
She walked out of the room with the king.
Irene was the happiest of all.
Tony c@m£ in with the doctor.
“The doctor is…”
“Where are they?” He asked.
“You would want to see it for yourself” Irene replied.
Tony didn’t un-derstand what she was saying but the smile on her face could show that it was good news.
Irene walked the doctor throu-gh that backdoor where he c@m£.

Everyone was shocked to see the queen walking down the stairs.
The prince were very shocked.
Rachel was blinking repeatedly when she saw her mother.
“Is that mom?” Casper asked.
“No way…” Fredrick replied.
They were all happy to see their mother.
The king danced with the queen.
“She is back to normal. What really happened?”
“The queen is so beautiful”
“I can’t believe the queen is back to her feet”
Rachel was tired of listening to their murmurs.
She left and walked towards her room.

The p@rty was over. Everyone reported back to their houses.
Irene and the other maids were cleaning the hall and the kitchen.
The king walked round the palace with his wife. He was happy that she was back to normal.
He wished he could compensate the snake that did everything.
He didn’t believe what the legend said until today.
He would ask himself, how would the snake protect the Queen.
He sighted Irene and the maids cleaning. He swiftly walked towards them.
“Where is Rachel?” He asked.
“She is in her room my king” Irene replied.
“Why isn’t she cleaning?”
“Uhh, you said she should clean only when it’s 5am to 8pm. And its few minutes past 9”
“Hmm, go and get her. She must join you. You can return back to your room after calling her. You are still on drugs, go get some rest” the king said.

Irene walked towards Rachel’s room and opened it without knocking.
She saw Rachel and Stephanie in the room.
“What? How dare you barge into my room without knocking?” Rachel asked.
“Quit blabbing and report downstairs. You have work to do” Irene said and left.
Steph opened her mouth in surprise.
“You were blabbing?” She laughed.
“You see why I hate this bit-ch” Rachel yelled.
She wore her sli-ppers and went downstairs.
Her dad made her clean the whole palace alone. He told the maids to go and rest.
Rachel cried as she cleaned.
She was blaming everything on Irene entirely.

Irene had her bath and took her drugs.
“I don’t want to act like this towards the princess. But she deserves it. I can’t just watch her do this to me. I’m not a child” she murmured as she wore her pyjamas.
Her phone suddenly rang.
It was Josie.
“Hey sissy” she called.
“Xup sissy” Irene greeted back.
Josie was the eldest in the family but she loves calling Irene elder sis.
But she prefer to call her sissy.
“I’ve missed you like damn” Josie said.
“Same here. I’ll try and see you and mom and dad on Monday. Zoe wants to see Mom also. It’s been long though” Irene smiled.
There c@m£ a knock on the door.
“I have to go now. See you on Monday” she said and hung up.
She stood up and tiredlessly walked towards the door.
Fredrick walked in and gave Irene a quic-k hvg.
She closed the door and cleared her throat.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry” he said as he freed her from his grip.
“You look happy, what happened?” Irene remember she didn’t see him much at the ball.
“Wait, did you see your ex girlfriend?” She asked.
Fredrick nodded smiling.
“And we went out. She didn’t believe that I was back to normal. She wanted me back but I rejected her”
“What? Why?!” Irene yelled.
“Nothing, should I take her back? She’s just after my money and my handsome face and because I’m a prince” he said frowning.
“I have an idea. You should go out with her more often. Tell her that you both should start again as strangers. Then start the love afresh. Don’t let her get tired of you and don’t get tired of her. You both should have fun together” she said.
“But..”
“No but Fredrick. You should do as I say okay?”
He nodded.
“I didn’t give you your medicine today. I’ll give you tomorrow ” Irene said.
“I don’t nee-d it again. I don’t stammer again. And guess what? She loves my new voice. She was like, your voice is so cute. It sound more matured. Arghh, I felt like crushing her head” he said.
Irene yawned to show that she was sleepy.
“I nee-d to sleep alre-ady. We’ll talk more tomorrow”
“Fine” Fredrick said and left.
Irene t©uçhed her b©dy.
“I can’t believe that Frederick just hvgged me” sje shut her eyes and walked towards the be-d and sle-pt off.

It was Sunday morning.
There wasn’t much work at the palace.
The family ate together.
As Irene serves the food, the king stared at her.
“You should eat with us Irene”
Steph and Rachel sh0t the king a ha-rd glare.
“Thank you my king. I’ve eaten alre-ady” he said.
“You can lie to everyone here. You can’t lie to me. Sit down and eat” the king said.
“Yes, you are like a daughter to me” the queen said.
“I have only one sister, which is Wren” Rachel murmured.
The king heard her and frowned.
” What are you doing here Rachel?”
“Eating father” she replied.
“Aren’t you supposed to be on duty?” He asked.
“But..”
“Stand up and go find yourself some work to do” the king pointed out of the dining room.

Irene walked into the lobby and saw the prince pla-ying some games again.
She didn’t want to go to them but Fredrick called her.
“I’m actually busy” she said to them.
“Come on Irene” Tony said.
Rachel, Stephanie and Stephen walked into the lobby.
They brushed her off.
“Hey my love” Stephen stretched his hand to t©uçh Irene.
Casper was there to beat his hands off.
“Don’t try to t©uçh her” he said and drag her to the couch.
He made Irene sit beside her.
“Let’s start the game alre-ady” Tony said.
Everyone said down round the table.
“What game?”
“Say it or shoot it bit-ch” Stephanie said to her and rolled her eyes.
“It’s another name for the usual truth or dare” Tony said to Irene.
She smiled and nodded her hair.
She didn’t want to okay this game at all.
She wished the queen could just s£nd for her alre-ady.
They nee-ded to go to the hospital soon.
They spin the bottle.
Everyone watched as it turned and turned and turned till it pointed at Irene.
“Woah!!!” Everyone cheered.
Irene hated herself for entering into the lobby.
“So, Irene. Truth or Dare?” Leo asked.
“Truth” she replied quic-kly.
Nothing was ever going to make her pick a dare.
“Are you a vir-gin?”
Everyone stared at Steph as she asked Irene.
Her heart was beating fas-ter and fas-ter.
