the unknown episode 26

?THE UNKNOWN?

?Chapter Twenty-six <26>?

?A revelation??

?FLASHBACK?

“You don’t need to be sorry, Clayton. You weren’t the one who tried to ra-pe or who poured acid on my thigh. Even the guy who did all that didn’t apologize.” Gina said as she stare at Clayton.

Clayton let out a de-ep sigh and pinched the bridge of his nose gently. “Where is he now?”

“6feet below us.” She simply replied.

“He is dead?” Clayton asked in disbelief.

“Yeah. He committed suicide.” She studied the look on Clayton’s face and slowly a warm smile appeared across her face. “Easy death?” She read out the expression on his face.

“He should have suffered first before dying. How could he just die like that?” That was a rhetorical question. “Tsk, what a waste of death.” He mumbled to himself as his gaze shifted to the lake in front of them.

?FLASHBACK ENDS?

Clay laid flat on his bed as he stares at the ceilings. He really meant what he said. How could that douchebag just die like that? He was suppose to suffer. People like him are meant to suffer here on earth before dying.

How could he have put a girl as innocent as Gina throu-ghthat mess? What exactly did she do to him to be treated so unfairly like that?

He sighed as he got upright. He was sitting down this time around. He would have suspect the rapist if he wasn’t dead yet. But he can’t because he was long gone and buried. A dead man can’t resurrect from death just to have his revenge, right? Those are done in movies. They were pure fake.

Clayton got to his feet and walked over to his desk. He sank into the chair and leaned on the table as he took out a book and pen.

?FLASHBACK?

“How did you react when you discover that he was dead?” He asked Gina.

“Angry? Happy? Scared? At ease? I don’t know what I felt exactly. But de-ep down I wanted him to suffer in jail. Or better still be forgotten in there.” She paused. “But most girls were sad. Some blamed me for his death. He was the ‘bad boy’ in college,” She air quoted the bad boy. “so he was every ladies’ dream guy. It was a big lost to them. But…I got my friends with me after all. They supported throu-ghthose ha-rd times especially Olive.”

?FLASHBACK ENDS?

“Could it be that one of those girls never got past his death? Could it be they are revenging his death since he couldn’t do that by himself?” Clayton whispered to himself.

“Do you think them dying would be the best thing?” Bobbie asked her friend.

Kylie smirked as she sat down on the chair facing her friend, Bobbie. “It isn’t my fault, Bob. They should put the blame on themselves. Besides, it’s not like I’m the one killing them or something. I’m just happy they are dying. And being happy that they are dying isn’t a crime neither is it a sin.” She smiled as she let out a breath of relief. “I’m thinking of paying Gina a visit.”

Doris kept walking fast. She was scared. She looked behind her by found no one there. But she could feel it. Someone was looking her.

She was being stalked. She brou-ght out her phone to give one of her friend a call. But her hands were shaking. She was going to die. The killer might be the one stalking her.

She turned to look behind her again but she didn’t see anyone there. Was it just her imagination or something. She was in a lonely road so that made it more scary for her.

She wasn’t looking at where she was going when she bumped into someone.

Doris screamed over her lungs as she shut her eyes closed and bend down. “Please…please… don’t kill me. Please. I beg of you. Please.”

“Dory?” She slowly opened her eyes and look up. She was surprise to see Clayton staring right down at her.

“Clammy?” She questioned back in disbelief. What was he doing here? Why was he here? Clayton helped pulled her to her feet and picked up her handbag. “What are you doing here?” She questioned, voicing out her thought.

“I came over here to see someone. Why were you running like that? Are you alright?”

Doris looked behind her again. She was still scared but she felt saved now that she has someone that she knows with her. “Let’s get out of here first.”

“You will be find, Dory.” Clayton rea-ssured her as he handed her a cup of coffee. They were currently at his apartment. Doris had pleaded with him to take her to his apartment. No, not the apartment where his daughter was staying…just in case you are wondering.

“That was what you guys said to Phoebe but what happened? She died. You guys still said the same thing to Alicia but she still died. So how do you expect me to believe you guys again?”

Clayton let out a de-ep breath. She was actually right there. “That’s because we are getting close to the truth.”

“And what truth have you guys gotten then?” She asked. Doubt was clear in her voice. Clayton let out another de-ep breath. He doesn’t even know what to say. “Just as I thought. Listen, Clay. You don’t need to make me feel okay. I will die very soon and I know that. But I’m just scared. I never imagined my life to be cut short like this.” She started crying.

“Dory…”

“It’s fine, Clay. It…Who am I kidding? Of course it’s not fine! I’m fu-cking scared!”

“We will try to figure this out. I promise.”

“Don’t promise to save me, Clammy. You might not be able to fulfil that promise. Just promise to justify our death by capturing that psychopath.”

Gina was just staring at the note that was given to Doris.

It says; Roses are red,
The sky is blue,
Look behiind you always,
Cause I’m watching you?.

“Tsk, this killer is definitely a dullard.” Gina said as she dropped the note back on the table and collected one of the roses given to one of the victim’s.

She started plucking out the leaves. As she try to process everything going on.

But as she kept plucking the leaves, it felt strange. Because it felt like she had done something like this before.

She suddenly remembered. she has done something like that in college.

“This rose….could it be that the killer had gotten it from college or something? Or is this a revelation on where we could find him or her?”

She was still wondering when her phone started ringing. She digs out her phone from her pocket. It was an unknown number. She furred her brows as she answers the call.

“Hello?”

“Hii. I’m sure you can recognize my voice, right?”

“um…I don’t.”

“Ouch! That hurts. Well, let’s meet. And don’t even try to object because trust you need to meet up with me. Because….I have a revelation for you.”

“A revelation?”

“uh-huh.” TBC
