the unknown episode 15

?THE UNKNOWN?

?Chapter Fifteen <15>?

?A Description?

“No matter how ha-rd I try to think of a particular person that had some kind of issue with Phoebe…I… I still can’t remember anyone.” Gina said, leaning into her chair in frustration.

“Maybe it’s because she never had any issue with anyone?” That sounded like a question but it wasn’t one.

“I guess.” Gina sighed heavily as the door to the office was pushed open and Clayton walked in with three cup of coffees.

“Here.” He handed one cup to Gina then the other to Zoe with his left hand then took one for himself. He sat down on a seat beside Zoe’s. “What have you guys find?” He now asked after he had settled down.

Zoe sipped from her cup and shrugged her shoulder before saying. “Nothing useful aside from a description of the murderer.”

“A description?” Clayton asked, confused.

“Yeah. A description.” Zoe said with a little bit of the head.

“And which is?” He pressed on. Why he looked some curious wasn’t the problem here but the problem and suspicious thing here is…He looked worried. But why was he worried? It’s not like they accused him of being a murderer or something even though he was a left handed person.

Oh, you didn’t know? Clayton was a left handed person. But that doesn’t make him the murderer, right?

“The Murderer is a left handed person.”

“How do you feel now?” Olive asked the patient who was lying down on the hospital bed, beneath her.

He dredged up a sad smile and nods his hand, saying. “I will live.”

Olive smiled. “Yes, you will. We all will.” She said. She wasn’t so sure that she would live not when a serial killer was after her life and her friend’s. At first she thought it was all a joke and that nothing was going to happen but she was in for a shock when they received a call from one of Phoebe’s neighbor, who had given them the news about their friend’s death.

Olive handed the chart and a pen to one of the nurses who stood beside her. “You may leave now.” She tells the nurse.

“Okay doctor.” The nurse turned and left the ward.

Olive stared down at the patient and sat down on a seat beside his bed. “What is your name again?”

“Liam.” He replied her.

“Do you know why I didn’t leave yet?” He shook his head no. “Liam, you don’t have to worry about anything. You will live.”

“Yeah. I just said that, didn’t i?”

“Did you? Because to me it doesn’t sound like you mean what you had said when you said it.”

“But I meant it.”

Olive smiled and reached out for Liam’s hand. “Dying is not the problem here but leaving those you love is. And watching those who you left behind suffer from the cruelty of this world.” She said, looking at Liam with a sad eyes. “You don’t have to be afraid of dying, Liam. Instead, I think what we should be more afraid of is of living.”

“Why?” Liam asked.

She sque-ezed his hand a little. “Look around you, Liam. You are alive but yet you are looked up in a room, receiving treatment here and there. Is that the kind of life you want?”

“I…I…what do you mean?”

“Sometimes….death is the only solution.” She answered with a shrug.

Liam shook his head. “No. I want to live. I don’t want to die. No, I want to live. I don’t want to die.” He kept mumbling.

Olive grinned and stood up to her feet. “Now, you mean it. You want to live.” She had said all that just to scare him so he would be willing to live. And luckily, her planned worked out perfectly. “You will live, Liam. I will make sure of it. Trust me.”

“A left handed person?” Clayton questioned.

“Yeah. Just like you.” Gina said as she nodded to his left hand which was holding the cup of coffee. “I am not saying you are the one, mind you. I am just making it clear to you.”

“Why don’t I believe that what you said was what you really meant?”

“Because it wasn’t what I really meant. Listen. No matter how ha-rd I try to trust you…I still can’t. Whenever I look at you, I see someone different. Someone strange.”

“What if your suspicion about me is wrong.”

“And what if it’s right?” She leaned into the table, moving closer to Clayton who was inches away from her as well. “Tell me Clayton, What are you hiding. What are you so afraid of showing to the world?”

“I…”

“Guys!” Zoe called out, interrupting whatever Clayton was going to say. They both snapped their heads to her. “Now is not the time for this Love battle.”

“Love battle? Ew.” They both said in disgust.

“Anyway, here.” She handed the note that had been given to Phoebe before she died. “Turn the note around, his next victim was mentioned.”

Gina snatched the note from her and turned the note to the back. There was a bold letter ‘D’ after the writing; Roses can be dangerous too.

She collected the other notes received by the victims and stared down at the note after the word; Roses can be dangerous too.

The first victim which was Bianca has a bold letter written on it, which was ‘J’ And that was Jane…the next victim. Which Jane’s note had the letter, ‘P’ which was Phoebe, the other victim. And now…‘D’

Zoe and Gina gasped and said in unison. “Doris is the next victim.” TBC.
