“I am scared Niran, I can’t hear her anywhere,” I said fearfully looking around.
“She is around okay? Think positive.” He said and I nodded.
Suddenly, I saw a footprint leading down the path we were treading.
“This should be her footprint Niran. This should be it.” I said eagerly as we kept tracing it.
Soon we got to a very large hole in the front and we couldn’t find the footprint anymore.
“Oh no! Akira!” I yelled inside the pit but I got no response.
“She is in there Niran. She fell into it.” I said showing him the footprint at the edge of the hole.
“She can’t swim.” He said.
“No, she can’t!” I replied jumping right into the hole without second thoughts.
“Geez! I would get a rope.” I heard Niran say. He dropped the burning stick close to the pit hole and this produced light for me to see.
Immediately I landed inside the pit, my hand hit something.
“Akira.” I thought as I grabbed her and raised her head from inside the water.
“Akira. Please wake up.” I said in tears. I had enough reasons to cry already, but losing Akira and my child would cost me my life.
“Niran!! Where is the rope!” I yelled trying to keep her head out of the water.
“Here! Grab it!” He yelled throwing a tree rope down to me.
“Can you take her weight?” I asked taking the rope. I tied it around her wai-st firmly and looked up.
“I tied it to the three already. I am ready.” He said grabbing the rope firmly.
“Pull,” I yelled and he began to pull out Akira. a hu-ge rock was in front of him, which helped him maintain his balance.
I stared at Akira as Niran kept pulling her. The water was at my mouth level, so I kept flapping my legs to keep floating.
Soon Niran finally pulled Akira out of the water and laid her a little far from the pit.
“My turn Niran,” I yelled and he threw the rope down to me too. I caught it and wrapped it around my wai-st. I swam to the walls of the pit and dug my fingers in it as support.
“Pull,” I said as he began to pull. I could hear him Gr0-n as he did. But I helped him by climbing the walls in the process.
I got up in no time and rushed to where Akira laid. Her eyes were closed and she looked extremely cold.
“Akira,” I said in tears placing my mouth on hers to give her breath. I placed my hand on her che-st and began to press it.
The first time, it didn’t work, so I repeated the same process.
This time, she began to cough out water. I happily lifted her head to give her more access to breathe.
After minutes of vomiting water, her head fell back weakly on my hand and she opened her eyes.
“Akira,” I called with tears in my eyes, and a smile on my face.
“Arjun.” She called weakly and I hu-gged her ti-ghtly.
“Thank you for not dying,” I said ki-ssing her hair severally. At this point, it was just drizzling. My clothes were super w£t already.
“We nee-d to move, the rest are in the cave. She nee-ds heat as soon as possible.” Niran said as Akira began to shiver in my hands.
“Okay,” I answered back lifting Akira in a bridal manner.
We began to walk away from the pit, and Niran held up the burning stick close to Akira so she would feel the warmth.
I could see the vapor coming out of my mouth and nose and I was breathing. It was very cold.
After minutes of walking carefully, we got to the cave, and I placed Akira next to the fire they had created.
“Akira.” Nikita, Vanna, Hana, and Aaron called rushing to us. Akira looked at them weakly and they began to donate their dry clothing to cover her up.
I moved away as they got rid of her w£t clothes and wore dry ones for her.
“What happened to her? Why is she dripping w£t?” Aaron asked as he stood near me
“She fell into a large pit as she ran for her dear life,” I said sadly and Aaron looked at her again.
“She would be fine Arjun. She is a fighter.” He comforted and I smiled faintly.
“Thank you,” I said as we both stared at Akira who was laid on Nikita’s legs close to the fair. She hu-gged her ti-ghtly so she could get warm fas-ter.
I looked at the expression on everyone’s face and all I saw was sadness. Niran approached us and I looked at him.
“Thank you so much for everything Niran,” I said and he shook his head.
“Thank me after I kill those b**ches.” He said clutching his jaw.
“I can’t believe Maya and Katika would go this far,” Aaron said and all I did was think of a way to get my revenge.
“Arjun are you saying Mei knows nothing about this?” He asked and I shook my head.
“No! If she knew, she would have told us,” I said and he scoffed.
“This isn’t the time to be on anybody’s side. We just lost our parents, almost lost Akira and your child! Mei is Katika’s love. Since she came back, she never told us about any steps they would be taking. And now this happened perfectly. Who told Katika the building Father and Mother stays? If not someone that knows this place well.” He clarified and I nodded thinking about what he said.
It was true.
“So what do we do?” I asked looking at Akira who was fast asleep already.
“We do the same thing they did to us. Waste every single one of them without mercy.” He declared and I nodded.
“No one would be escaping my wrath this time,” I said in wrath.
“I am in! In anything, you plan on doing to make them pay for this.” Aaron added and we all had a frown on our faces.

… THE NEXT DAY…
? MAYA?
Katika rushed into my room not long after I work up. She had this very happy look on her face.
“Hey, Mei! Guess what!” She said happily and I sighed.
“I am not in the mood for guesses. What’s up?” I asked weakly.
“Our plans worked perfectly.” She said looking so happy.
“Our plans?” I further asked.
“Maeko’s people! They are all dead Mei.” She said and my eyes wide-ned.
“They are all dead? You mean every one of them including Akira.” I said and she nodded.
I couldn’t measure the joy I felt at that very moment. The girl I so much hated right from the beginning is now dead.
What could go wrong?
“Oh My… I never thought it would be this easy” I said and she giggled.
“Of course it would be. I am the mastermind behind everything, of course, it would go perfect.” She said in excitement and I smiled.
“I could finally get rid of getting once and for all.” I thought with a smile still on my face.
“Have you forgotten something?” She further asked.
“No.why do you say so?” I asked furrowing my brows.
“I can’t believe you forgot your birthday!” She exclaimed and my eyes wide-ned.
“Wait! What? my birthday is in three days, not today.” I said shrugging my shoulders.
“I know, but you and I know that we always plan the party a week before the day.” She said and I smiled.
“That was when we had nothing important to do,” I responded.
“Now we have conquered our enemies. It’s time to celebr@te and we would do that on your birthday.” She said and I laughed.
“Really? So you want to throw me a birthday party? You must be in a good mood.” I told and she laughed.
“You can’t say so. So, let’s get the plans started.” She said and I nodded.
“Okay. Everything on you.” I said and she nodded happily.
“Great! See you soon. Can’t wait to celebr@te.” She said walking out of my room. Immediately she was out, my smile faded.
“Why is the so happy to throw me a party? I can remember vividly I would always beg her to throw me one before she does.” I thought.
“She must have something else she is planning,” I mumbled.

I was done taking my bath when the door opened and Katika came in with a smile on her face.
“Hey, babe.” She said approaching me and I smiled widely.
“Hey. Won’t you take your bath?” I asked and she giggled.
“Not yet.” She said releasing my hand from my towel and making it fall to the ground, leaving me stark nak-ed in front of her.
“Katika, I am tired. We were up all night.” I muttered and she had an evil grin on her face.
“Really?” She asked running her fingers on my n**plus slightly and I felt them ha-rden immediately.
I M0-ned inside of me and I saw her stare at my body.
“You have a beautiful body, Mei.” She whispered moving her head closer to mine. And when I thought she would ki-ss my li-ps, I shut my eyes.
But then, she reached for my ne-ck and nibb-led on it with her li-ps.
I M0-ned slightly making my li-ps fall apart a little.
“Maya’s birthday is in three days.” She said against my li-ps and I opened my eyes.
“Really? That’s great.” I said and she moved back, picking up my towel and giving it to me.
“Yes! I would be planning a party and I would want you to plan it with me.” She stated pecking my li-ps.
“I want you to plan everything you would love to see at a party.” She added and I scoffed.
“Aren’t we supposed to ask Maya that? She is the birthday celebr@nt.” I said and she smiled.
“She would probably love your taste. She doesn’t have a specific one. You know, just tell me what you want to see at a party.” She said and I smiled loving the way she made it about me.
“Okay. But I wish to go for a walk today. Can you please let me?” I asked her and she looked at me smiling.
“We can go together.” She said and I shook my head.
“No! I nee-d to be alone. I nee-d to think about what happened to my friends yesterday.” I said sadly and she walked up to me holding my hands.
“I am yet to apologize for the death of your friends. I am sorry,but they had to go.” She said and I smiled faintly.
“I un-derstand,” I said walking to the closet to get myself an outfit.
“Are you angry with me?” She asked and I gave no response.
“I am sorry Mei. Please don’t be angry with me.” She apologized approaching me from behind.
She wrapped her hands around my wai-st and I sighed.
She can’t just expect me to be fine after killing all my loved ones.
“Do you still love me?” She asked in a shaky voice and I turned to look at her. I saw tears gathered in her eyes.
“I love you Katika, it’s just that I am a little hurting because you kept the plan from me. That means you don’t trust me.” I said and she shook her head.
“I trust you, Mei. I wanted it to be a surprise, I am sorry.” She mumbled in tears and I hu-gged her ti-ghtly.
“It’s okay. I would go for the work now.” I said and she nodded cleaning her eyes. I looked for a casual outfit, put it on, and walked out of the room after ki-ssing Katika goodbye.
