“Mom, I was scared, she looks scary,” Dora said and Catherine stro-kes her hair gently
“You don’t have to be scared when you have your mom by your side princess!” Catherine said and turn to the guards that were still at the door
“Fling her out,” She said
“I can’t see, my eyes” came Ruth’s loud voice
two guards came into the office and dragged her out
Adel was still silent as many thoughts run throu-ghher mind
“Baby, I know you hate mommy now but please give me a chance to explain what happened,” Catherine said making Adel scoffs
“I was five, just five when you left, “Adel said
“Baby is sorry, I was….”
“I stood and watch you pack your things, you went outside and I ran after you, I cried and begged you “mommy please don’t go, but what did you do?” Adel asked, tears fighting their way out of her eyes
“Baby am sorry, I know I wasn’t a good mother but give me a chance to make things right,” Catherine said gently
“You’re a very bad mother, I ran after you crying and you ignored me, I hold until you dressed and you pushed me down and I fall on my b-utt, it’s hurt but you didn’t even stop to look at me, I stood up even though my b-utt hurts and ran after you, you get into the car and slammed the door at my face and zoom off, and now you’re suddenly back, for what?” Adel asked, tears rolling down her cheeks
“Baby, am sorry please give me a chance to explain,” Catherine said gently and make to hold her hands but she shifted backward
“There is no excuse mom… I mean pinkywhite you brou-ght me nothing but pain, ever since you left my life has been nothing but pain,” Adel added
“Baby I know you might find it ha-rd to forgive me, can I get a hug? Please don’t deny me of it I have always wanted to hug you, mommy is sorry,” Catherine said, she went to Adel who shifted back
“I model for your company, I became your designer… My mother’s designer and she couldn’t tell me that she was my mom, you were close… So close and yet you allow me to be in pain,”
“You’re not and will never be my mom, my mom died eighteen years ago and I don’t know who you are, don’t ever show your face to me again cos you will never be my mom as long as I live,” Adel and turn to leave
Catherine opened her mouth in shock
“Baby please am sorry, I left to give you life, please don’t push me away, I might fall sick,” Catherine said with uncontrollable tears
Adel opened the office door and left without looking back
“Is Dora my daughter also or… ” Mr. Benson was still saying when Catherine interrupted
“Yes, I didn’t know that I pregnant it was after I left that I find out,” She cut in
It was then that Mr. Benson decided to console her, he went over and hug-ged her ti-ghtly
“Am a bad mother, I left my baby all alone, I only did it to give her life, they could have killed her, please tell her that mommy is sorry, I didn’t mean to live her but I didn’t have a choice, I couldn’t watch her die that’s why I left,” Catherine sobbed
“Mom it’s okay,” Dora mumbled, her face already soaked with tears

“Mr. Benson, sorry to interrupt but…..”
“Margaret thank goodness that you’re here,” Mr. Benson cut in
She looked at them confused, everyone has tears in their eyes
“Margaret please help me tell my baby that am sorry, I didn’t mean to live here, I left to give her life cos they were going to kill her,” Catherine said immediately

Catherine on the other hand knows that Margaret and Adel are close cos she has seen them together almost all the time

“Just help me talk to Adel,” Mr. Benson cut in
Margaret stared at him
“I know she will listen to you so please help me am begging,” Mr. Benson added
“I…em… I will try but she’s pretty high right now, she needs space to calm down,” she stuttered
Gosh, so she’s Catherine? But why did she leave? I bet it will take a lot of talks to convince Adel,” Margaret thought silently
“You can drop the file you came with and leave,” Mr. Benson said and she nodded
She went over and dropped it then turn around and left

MARGARET OFFICE*
Margaret went out to see Adel who was still crying
“Are you going to cry all day? At least Let her explain,” Margaret said and Adel shook her head negatively
“She’s the case of everything happening to me right now, I will never see her as my mother as long as I live,” Adel replied still sobbing
A moment of silence prevails
“You know sometimes I wish my family were still Alive, a black girl in the middle of white, I wish I had a mom,” Margaret suddenly said and Adel stood up and took her car keys
“Where are you going to?” Margaret asked staring at her
“You’re trying to get into my head but it won’t work, that woman is not my mother and she will never be,” Adel replied and left
Margaret just signed and went back to her own office since it was close to Adel’s own
A moment later, Sasha came in
“Hey, lady,” Sasha Wave at her
“Sasha, that’s your name right?” Margaret asked and she nodded
“Have you seen the pretty lady?” Sasha asked
“She went out,” Margaret replied
“Oh, you look sad,” Sasha mumbled, and Margaret smile
“Am fine ” Margaret said and Sasha shook her head negatively
“You’re not, are you angry? You look sad” Sasha muttered
Margaret smiles lightly
“Are you that good at reading people’s minds? Well am not angry, I just remembered something important,” Margaret said and Sasha smiled
“Mind telling me,” Sasha asked gently
“No, adult stuff,” Margaret replied and Sasha pouted
Margaret pinch her cheeks lightly and she giggled
Sasha stood up and head to the door
“Going somewhere?” Margaret asked but she shook her head negatively
“I will be back,” she replied and left
A few minutes after she left Bruce entered, Margaret was still on the couch with her face upward staring into space
He gently sat beside her but she didn’t notice
“Hey,” he said and gently tapped her shoulder

“Thinking about me already?” Bruce joked
“Silly, what’s so special about you?” She asked and he frowns
“You’re not being nice,” he pouted and she smiles
“What are you doing here? Thought you were avoiding me?” Margaret asked and he went closer
“I came to ask a question,” he replied

She turned to him
“I want to know why, this minute you will act as if you care and the next minute you will push me away, why did you keep doing that?” He asked staring de-eper into her eyes
She made to look away but Bruce hold her chin and made her face him
“Tell me, Margaret,” he said gently and she signed

“What aftermath? Does that mean you love me?” Bruce asked, his heart beating so loud
“Yes,” she replied
Bruce shook his head

His joy knows no bounds, he was over the moon as he won’t stop grinning

THE MAID*
A lady walked into her house to see someone on her couch eating chips
“And who are……” She was thrilled off when she saw Adel on her couch
“Want some?” Adel asked and she freeze
Adel stare at her face and burst out laughing
“Why did you suddenly turn to a status?” Adel asked and took the remote and turned on the TV
It has already been programmed, the footage of how Steve beat her up started playing and the maid was in the background, she was watching and didn’t think of calling the cops
“Turn it off please,” the maid said already sobbing
“You stood and watch, my husband was poisoned by you, he was weak and couldn’t move yet you stood at the corner and watch them beat me up,” Adel said, she’s now on her feet
Silence
“Was I that bad?” She asked staring at the maid
The maid was silent
“I paid for your hospital bill when you were pregnant, I’m the one sponsoring your brother in college, I bought the previous house you were left in, I bought baby clothes, and food and gave you enough money cos the stupid fool you fuc-ked left you… Was that why you betrayed me?” Adel asked staring at her
“Am sorry,” came the maid’s gently voice
“Mommy you’re back,” a little boy of about two years old climbed downstairs
He looks like he was just waking up from sleep
“Rex go to your room now,” the made said
“No, he will stay….. Come here Rex,” Adel said and the boy went to her
She was looking all dangerous
“Please am sorry, do whatever you want with me please my son is innocent,” the maid went on her knees
“I was gonna have a baby too and mine was still a fetus, you see! My baby didn’t know anything,” Adel replied nodding
Adel brings out a gun, a knife, and a liquid substance and keeps them on the table
“Please,” the maid said shaking her head
“Choose one, how did you want him to die?” Adel asked
“Please am sorry… He’s all that I have got,” the maid pleaded and she scoffs
“Choose one or I will,” Adel said with a serious face
The maid picked up the knife with shaky hands, Adel to-re the boy’s clothes and place him on the table
“Stab his heart,” She ordered
“Huh”
“Stab his fuc-king heart or I will do it the ha-rd way,” she added
“No, please… Am sorry please,” the maid pleaded
“Argh!!!” The maid suddenly shouted as blood gushed out from her left
Adel shoot her
“Stab him and don’t waste my time, I don’t have all day,” she ordered
“I can’t….. Argh!!!” Another bullet landed on her left leg
It was a silent gun
“Stab him!!!” She yelled pointing the gun at the boy’s head
“Do it and give him a little life or I will take all,” she ordered and with a shaky hand the maid raise her knife to stab the boy but Adel shot her head and she drop dead
“Mommy,” the little boy who doesn’t know what was happening called
“Let’s go, she’s not your mother she’s a betrayal,” Adel said and hold the boy’s hand as they walk out of the place
“Clean this mess,” she said to her guards and they nodded and went inside
Ashley, I guess I have given you enough space to run and hide, Just wait for me cos am coming,” Adel muttered

3:00 pm
“Dude, what are we doing here?” Roco asked Jeremy as he lead them into a house
“If it’s not useful I will roast you alive,” Jordan said and he chuckled
“Calm down, you’re gonna like it,” Jeremy said as they entered another room
There they saw Steve who was laying on a table, he wasn’t dead
“Son of a bi-tch !” Jordan yelled and made to go over to him but Jeremy hold him back
“Calm down, I know why I brou-ght him here,” Jeremy said
Roco and Jordan stare at him
“Are you crazy or something?” Roco asked
“No, I have already paid for his transformation, a doctor will turn him Into a woman and we will use him to make money by making him act porn, just the way he did to Adel,” Jeremy said
Jordan gives it a quick thought, and a dangerous sm-irk appears on his face

“Now let’s go hunting, it’s time to find who Pablo and Ruth is,” Jordan said as they walk out of the house
“Bro, you said your father called you earlier!” Roco said, more like a question
“Yeah, he congrats me for beating the crap out of that nigga, he said he will close the case if the cops or anyone tried to do something stupid,” Jordan replied and they got into a car
Roco was driving while Jeremy and Jordan seat at the back, the front seat was empty

Ruth went into a house only to see the owner of the house fuc-king Ashley and she was moa-ning like the bi-tch that she is
“Catherine is back,” she said and sat down
She isn’t affected cos they do it as routine, sometimes he fuc-ks both Ruth and Ashley at once

“What?” The man asked and moved away from Ashley
“I saw her today,” Ruth added
“You can’t be serious right? I sent her away… She can’t be back,” the man yelled after Ruth explain all that happened
“She’s back, I saw her with my two eyes,” Ruth replied gently
“What happened to your face?” Ashley asked
Her face was red and swallowed
“That stupid who-re happened to my face, argh!! I will kill her,” Ruth sneered
“Just a simple task and you failed, I sent you there so you could get the code, am the one that is supposed to be the heir but my stupid grandpa gave it to Benson’s father, it should be me,” the man yelled and punched the wall
“Pablo I tried, I did everything I could but I didn’t get it,” Ruth replied
“I think it’s time to pay my little brother a visit, get the boys ready and get the secret life of Adel, I think the whole world needs to see it unless he will negotiate with his wife I also need to fuc-k that woman,” Pablo said evily and Ruth nodded
