EPISODE 43

Jake observed the unplea-sant look on her face, and for some reason he didn’t like the fact that she was being unhappy. But what can he do, something inside of him is ma-king him act this way, ma-king him act selfish.

“Don’t worry we’ll be there soon” He told her.

About half an hour later they finally arrived at the exceptional game house that Jake so wanted to use. Jade had expected something out of the ordinary since they drove this far just to pl@yhere, but to her greatest dissappointment there was nothing unique about it. It was just another regular game house.

Jade would love to scold this rich br@t, but she kept her cool. She really wanted to snap at him. This was only the first day and she alre-ady hates the whole thing.

Jake booked a VIP game room and they both settled in. Jade sets everything up and picks up the game console, handing one over to Jake who in turn stares at it like it was some foreign material he was seeing for the first time.

Jade observed the awkward look on his face and asks, “You do know how to use that right?”

“I think I can manage” Jake replied still faking that look.

“Are you sure?”

“Yeah”

Jade explained a thing or two about the game and Jake listened attentively, or more like he was focused on her movingl-ips, but he listened anyway. Nodding his head affirmatively to everything she says.

Soon they started the game and Jade realized how Jake su-cks at handling the console. He hasn’t even started yet he was alre-ady having a ha-rd time controlling the characters.

Jade paused the game and turned to look at him, “are you really sure you’ve not pla-yed a video game before?” Jade asked curiously, and to her utmost surprise Jake replied.

“No” Jade was dumbfounded with his reply. How was it that he wanted to learn one of the most ha-rd est game on earth, when he hasn’t held a console in his life. How possible was this?

Jake was enjoying every reaction coming out from this girl. From the way her brows crease when she’s dazed or the way she fondles with her lowerl-ips when she’s fully concentrating on something. He couldn’t help but stare at herl-ips while she continued looking at him completely stunned about the fact that he hasn’t used a game console before.

Jade observed the change in his eyes and with the way he was now looking at her, she suddenly felt uncomfortable.

“Is..something wrong?” Jade asked.

“Nope, I was just thinking if maybe we should extend the time sti-pulated for each day. That way I can get to learn from scratch” He said seriously, when what he wanted to say was, “So I can see you more.” Jake was really having a ha-rd time controlling his thoughts with her just sitting beside him, doing nothing. But that was enough to mess his head up.

“Hmm” Jade signed. She thought about his words. Maybe this could be of benefit to her. She could up the hours so the 168 hours would be exhausted in no time.

“Mr Beau, can I ask a question?”

“Yeah” Jake replied leaning back on the sofa.

“Why are you interested in learning on how to pl@ya game” Jade asked curiously. This has been the question on her mind. His reply would determine if truly he wanted to learn to pl@ya game for real or maybe he was doing this to mess with her.

Jake looked at her intently like he was pondering on her question, so he could give the best reply. Because that’s actually what he was doing.

“Recently I observed there has been some changes in my life. Like I feel I’ve been missing out on some things. I don’t know why I started feeling this way, maybe it’s because I have never tried doing exciting things for fun. All I do is sit throu-gh board meetings and learn how to make right decisions for my company and that’s all the fun I know. So I thought about trying something new for a change. I see people laugh when they pl@ygames in general and I don’t have anything fun going on for me. So I thought why not try it out. And who’s best to teach me if not someone that knows what gaming is all about. So miss Jade help me find something fun to do with my life. I might die without knowing what that word truly means” Jake said melancholically. Like he had just poured out his de-epest soul out to her. Jade couldn’t find any words to say to him. She was completely sold out this theatrics. Jade sighed bitterly in her heart. It seems being rich also comes with it’s own challenges, maybe even worse than the poor folks could ever have.

“Alright. Let’s start with something simpler” was Jade’s reply. Somewhere in her heart she felt pity for Jake. She thought just maybe his life wasn’t as perfect as she thought or as others may think.

Jade discarded the thoughts of Jake having an inner motive and somehow felt a bit relaxed, knowing he wasn’t actually trying to get between her legs again or emotionally torture her with their last entanglement. It was a relief knowing he had only picked her because she works with a gaming company and was a suitable candid@t£ for teaching him.

Since he has done her a favor by helping her land her new job, she’d heartily return the favor by teaching him, till he knows what having fun is.

Amy was so excited about shopping with Jade, that she arrived a little bit earlier. Well, she was just in the area running some errands for her mother, who was planning another tea p@rty for socialite friends. She decided to wait at the mall for Jade since it was almost time. She picked up her phone to place a call throu-gh to Jade as she walked into the shopping complex, unfortunately Jade doesn’t pick up the call.

Amy s£nds a quic-k text to her informing her she has alre-ady arrived the mall, and she would be waiting for her at one of the coffee shops, where she ordered a cu-p of coffee while she waited. She kept looking at the time in anticipation.

About half an hour later Amy was still sitted at the shop eagerly waiting for Jade. She dialled her number again but there was still no response from Jade. She texted her a few times to inform her that she was late and that she was still waiting at the mall, but there was not one reply from Jade.

Amy was beginning to worry, because Jade wasn’t the type to ever p@rt with her phone. She was either learning a thing or two about gra-phic designing or programming or she was hooked to that damn add!çtive candy crush game. So why the hell wasn’t Jade picking or replying her messages.

She decided to call Grace, but she was sure she wouldn’t be with Jade either, since she’d be at the pastry shop at this hour, but she tried anyway.

Amy’s worries increa-sed when Grace informed her that Jade had left home this morning. She kept calling Jade, if by chance she was running late due to traffic, Jade should at least let her know.

A lot of crazy thoughts started crawling into her head. What if Jade had bu-mped into Cale or maybe that bit-ch Stephanie? Could that be why she was running late. Jade had no friends aside her and Lair. So where has she gone to?
~~~~~~
Jade has been de-eply engrossed coaching Jake in pla-ying the popular Super Mario 3D. She had thought it best to coach the supposed novice video game pla-yer from the scratch, and other way to learn than the popular Super Mario.
Jake’s jaws had dropped in disbelief when Jade had brou-ght up the idea. He had almost at the time protested against such silly idea, but then he couldn’t, since he had brou-ght this upon himself and he couldn’t expo-se himself on the first day. He simply agreed to it, because the main point was to keep Jade by his side till he resolves this unsettling and foreign emotions roaring inside of him.
When he had said those words to Jade about trying to sort out the feelings stirring up inside him, he had been right. How and why all this started, he didn’t know. But he was certain it has everything to do with the girl sitted beside him. For some reason he couldn’t take his eyes off her, he sort of like the way she fondled with her lowerl-ips like she was su-cking on them, when she was being serious. He could tell that Jade was taking his lessons a bit too serious. Was it because of that hearty speech he had said about trying to find the true meaning of fun? Himself was also shocked with the nons-en-se he had spewed, but still there were in truth in them.
“Mr Beau you’re not moving. Push that big round bu-tton upward, we’re going to die” Jade said j£rking Jake out of his reverie.
Jake quic-kly turned to the screen in front of him and indeed he wasn’t moving.
“Come on, you’ve got to pl@ythis well before we can move to pla-ying dark souls”
“Okay”
Like as if a light bulb blew in Jade’s head, she paused her movement and looked at her wrist watch. Her eyes bulged when realized she had spent more than 4 hours alre-ady. She quic-kly wh!pped out her phone from her bag and her jaws nearly dropped to the ground when she saw several missed calls from Amy. Jake who had noticed the way she was acting couldn’t help but ask with concern. “Is something wrong?”
“Yeah…No. I mean no. Excuse me” She said as she quic-kly dialled Amy’s number.
“Thank God you called back. What’s wrong with you? Are you okay” c@m£ Amy’s voice filled with concern and worries.
“Yeah I’m fine. My phone was on silent, I think I must have done that without knowing. I’m sorry” Jade apologized.
“Thank God you’re fine. I was getting worried. You’re lucky you called back, I would have called the police. So where are you?” Amy asked sighing in relief. She didn’t know why, but she has been having the weirdest of imaginations since Jade didn’t take her call.
“Thank God you didn’t”
“So where are you? When are you getting here. I’ve been here for a long time you know” She said with a pout. Not that it was anyb©dy’s fault that she had decided to be early, she just couldn’t contain herself. Only God knows how long she had wanted to do something like this with Jade. Not like they haven’t gone shopping together, but each time they went, it was because she nee-ded something for herself.
“Uhmm..Amy, I’m a bit far from you right now. I don’t think you’ll be able to wait. Maybe we should do this tomorrow” Jade explained to her. She was somewhat feeling bad for keeping Amy waiting and now she was just going to cancel. But what could she do? This guy had chos£n a game house that was quite far the mall, even from her home. And it will take a long time for her to get back.
“Nons-en-se! I’m not stepping an inch from this place. And even if they want to close it down, I still won’t go home. So you better get your sorry as-s here right.now” Amy commanded over the phone. There was no way she was going home.
Jade closed her eyes as Amy roared over the phone. Actually she had expected something like that. Telling Amy their shopping d@t£ has been cancelled was something she’d never accept.
“But …”
“Jade Walker you better hurry down here, if you don’t want to go to the night market. I hear they might sell some clothes that might suit you. If you don’t want that, better come here this instant”
“Okay fine. I’m coming”Jade finally said. There was no changing Amy’s mind on this one.
“You better” Amy abruptly hung up before Jade could say something else.
Jade turned around to look at Jake who has been looking at her every expression while she made that call.
“Come on, let’s go” Jake said before Jade could say anything. He knew she had other plans even before he picked her up, but he had acted selfishly by stalling for a long time.
“Thank you” Jade said as she picked up her bag, while Jake gr@bb£d his keys. He wasn’t really excited about her leaving but he knew he had to let her go for the day. Tomorrow was still another day.
Back at the coffee shop.
Amy couldn’t believe Jade had almost cancelled their plans, after she had waited for more than an hour. She was feeling hungry at the moment, she had wanted to gr-ab lunch with Jade, but that Missy wouldn’t be showing up soon, so she decided to gr-ab something for herself, maybe something light. That way she could still have lunch with Jade after they are done shopping.
She walked out of the cafe shop and headed for the KFC outlet just close to the coffee shop. It was the closest to her right now, and she didn’t think she had enough strength to go farther than that.
Amy had only walked into the KFC shop when someone who was too busy with his stupid phone to check where he was going accidentally bu-mped into her. Amy was re-ady to cuss whoever it was this stupid. What if she had fallen down?
Amy was eagerly waiting to lash out, but her words got stuck in her throat when she realized who it was.
“Sir Blake?”
“Miss Walker” They were both surprised to see each other at the mall.
“You are here” Amy stated the obvious due to lack of words to say. She has been eager to vent out on this person, just to find out it was her pretty boy.
“Yes” Blake replied with his usual smile that revealed those cute dimples. Amy had almost lost her s-en-ses when he smiled at her. She quic-kly composed herself, she wasn’t going to forget that she was still embarking on her impossible task of trying not to like Blake Beau more than she alre-ady does, if possible unlike him. Blake was anxiously waiting for Amy to reveal that usual smile she always gave him, or act like she used to, but she didn’t.
“Uhmm.. It’s nice meeting you Sir. I’ll get going now” Amy said before walking past him.
Blake turned to look at her as she walked away. He couldn’t help but open his mouth, “Amy are you angry?” Blake asked the question that has been hounding him for days.
