EPISODE 40
©Sir Zach

Jade didn’t know what to expect from this weekend or the subsequent ones to come. It seemed the week went by so quic-kly that it was now saturday. A day to see the guy she least wanted to see.

She really couldn’t believe she was doing something like this. This week was damn too fast. When did it start that it had suddenly ended so quic-kly, reminding her she still had an unwanted job some where, if she could actually call it that. She really doubts if it could be called a job. The week should have gone a little slower than usual. That would have been great, at least she’d have a enough time to prepare herself both mentally and emotionally. But from the look of things, no amount of preparation would be enough to prepare her.

She la-id un-der the quilt, staring at the ceiling with a myriad of thoughts running throu-gh her head.

She had dreamt about that unplea-sant night at the club, when she had sold herself to a stranger. A stranger who she must now spend eight hours of her weekends with.

Why did she suddenly dream about that awful night? How did things turn out to be like this? She hasn’t really thought much about how awkward this arrangement was. But now, she was being drowned by how outrageous this stupid business deal was.

Her mind flashed back to how Jake’s eyes had ca-ressed her skin on that night and the way he kept looking at her like a meal he’d love to gobble up in that conference room. And what was that he said about having a medical condition with his eyes again?

How the hell was she going to spend fours with him when she still hasn’t gotten over that regrettable night she had spent with him?

Was she expected to laugh when he does or say something funny? Or respond to ever question he asks? How was she expected to react?

For Pete’s sake that….that man has seen her n-ked, sle-pt with her, done alot of things to her and he had taken her vir-ginity…or rather she had given it to him at a price. She was sure going to be uncomfortable throu-ghout this godforsaken arrangement with him. That was a fact.

She had thrown herself at that man and she had taken his money like she was some prostitute. Could it be that he actually saw her as one?- a prostitute- and could that be why he had made such a ridiculous deal with her, just so he could have his way with her again?
Could there really be a motive behind this so called deal?

No Jade, I don’t think he’s that bad. He is a business tycoon who controls hundreds of companies. He wouldn’t be that bad right? He can always get any girl he wants at the snap of his f!nger. So he wouldn’t go this far just to sleep with you again. A voice in head tried to convincing her.

Wait! What if he brings up what happened at that night, even though he has promised not to. She won’t be able to do anything to st©p him if he tries embarras-sing her with that. After all, he is an influential person who has been well known promiscuous life, this she has known, special thanks to google.

She rolls un-der her be-d in frustration with her eyes closed. How did I make such a mistake? Am I being punished for betraying my family in my previous life??

‘God plea-se help me’ She muttered un-der her quilt with her hand in a pleading position. This was all she could ask for. For God to be merciful to her and make that man act properly all throu-ghout their four hours of gaming session.

She remembered how she had sat throu-gh that meeting with great difficulty. Her br@vado performance had come in handy but not without expending so much energy. It had taken alot out of her to sit in front of that man and act like nothing had happened.

This was too much. Jade it’s nothing but a business deal. You have to st©p feeling embarras-sed about it. Alot of people do this sort of things. Just get a grip over yourself everything will be fine, I hope.

Jake on the other hand was having a conflict with his emotions. Weird emotions that were slowly drowning him.

He has never anticipated for the week to end for he found himself doing just that all week long. Unfortunately this week has been a slow one. It actually crawled like a snail. At a point he had thought maybe the hours has been elongated by a few hours.

But now that the most anticipated weekend has arrived he didn’t know what to do anymore.

A plethora of questions had been swarming and clogging his mind.

Why did he make such a deal with her in the first place? In all honesty, he has been completely sold out to her performance at the meeting. He was certain the girl was incredibly smart. She knew her way with words, but there was something about her that made him want to keep her beside him and shield her from whatever could trouble her.

His first impression of her was naive and bold. When he met her at the club, everything about her screamed how naive she was. From the way her eyes danced throu-gh the club, to the way she pushed throu-gh the crowd, offering an apologetic look to every b©dy that bu-mped into her, to the way she gulped down those sh0ts, he knew she wasn’t used to that sort of life. He was sure that was her first time coming to a place like that.

He liked the way she locked her eyes on his like she was daring him to say no to her, even though he knew she was way too nervous, but she was being smart not to sure it.

How he loathed naive girls. He hated the idea of innocent girls trying to be what they were not. He wasn’t the type to coax a woman into having S-x with him. He was never patient to do such.

But Jade’s naivity had had a different effect on him. It was like he didn’t want to let go. All he wanted to do was sooth her raking nerves and coax her till she finally gives in.

Even when she flin-ched at his every t©uçh, he should have asked her to leave. but no, he couldn’t hold himself back and neither could he bear to ask her to leave.

A k!sson herl-ips was all that pu-ll-ed him and he just wanted more. Her sea blue eyes held alot of emotions dying to seep out.

The memories of her crying un-der the rain had etched a room for itself in his br@in. He could vividly remember how broken she was when he bu-mped into her at the hospital. How she had ran un-der the rain, scrouched un-der it screaming her lungs out. He felt his heart ache and for the first time he regreted his decision of slee-ping with her.

There was something about Jade that keeps drawing him to her. A glance at her steers up conflicting and weirds emotions inside of him. He’s completely at a loss on what he wants from her.

It’s almost as if a certain lvst has engulfed his b©dy since that night and it seems only Jade could quench this lvstful thirst in him.

Could it be that was all he wants or could there be something else. Something he doesn’t know?

But one thing that made him happy despite all this unsettling and frustrating emotions brooding inside him, was the fact that he now has the chance to see her and hear her voice whenever he wants….though, not whenever, but at least every week.

For now, that was enough for him. Till he knows what he wants and how to get it.

His ringing phone jo-lted him back to reality. He frowned as he reached out his hand for his be-dside table. Funny how he still sprawled on his be-d thinking about a girl, who someone who probably has wrong timing was suddenly disrupting his thoughts.

Jake’s eyes nearly fell out of their sockets when he realized who the caller was.

He wasn’t seeing things right. She was calling first? Was she that eager to see him? A smile splitbhis face at that thought but it was short lived when he thought about…

What if she wants to opt out of the deal?

Jake stared at his nervously, he didn’t un-derstand why was being nervous. Just pick the damn call alre-ady!

He slowly slide the answer bu-tton just at the nick of time.

“Hello” He heard her say from the other side. That was all he nee-ded to calm his nervous self.. If she has the intention of breaking their deal, he wouldn’t let her.
_________

Jade kept struggling within herself as she la-id helplessly on the be-d. Should she wait for him to call? Or should she call him first?

What if he calls her later in the day, then she won’t be able to go shopping with Amy as planned. He might even call her at night, and then she wouldn’t be able to tell her mother where she might be heading to. What if he called her when Amy was around? That would be terrible.

Jade didn’t plan on letting anyb©dy know about this…this deal going on between her and that man.

She couldn’t believe she has started keeping secrets since she met him. Jade has always lived her life like an open book, with no secrets to tell. But since the night she met Jake, she has been keeping alot of things to herself, which has burdened her greatly.

For instance, a few days after meeting Jake, she had stumbled upon an article that revealed that there was about 5-10% possibility that one might get pregnant after having protected S-x. She had almost suffered from an heart attack after re-ading that. She didn’t know there was such a thing.

She had questioned why such a stupid thing was been manufactured, when it couldn’t guarantee the safety of it’s consumers. She had done her research before that night but then that article just sprang up after the deed was done. It was a shocker for someone like Jade who just had her first S-x with a total stranger. She was petrified.

Normally, she would have confided in Amy and seeked out her advice but she didn’t dare to. She was alre-ady ashamed of her self and she was wallowing in self guilt at the time and telling Amy or Lair was off the chart. Not that she liked the fact that she was keeping a secret from her and Lair, but she couldn’t bring herself to tell them that she had done such a shameful thing. Even when the thought of getting pregnant for a total stranger had almost killed her, she still remained ti-ghtli-pped.

Jade finally decided to call him, so she could plan out her day well, to ensure no one gets to finds out about this little arrangement.

She picked up her phone, scrolled throu-gh her contacts and finally st©pped when she saw his number – Mr Jake, sitting gloriously in her contact list.

She stared at it for a long time with her hand hovering over the dial bu-tton. She hesitantly dialled it. Her heart thumped loudly as it rang. She held the phone away from her while her heart kept ringing along with it. What was she to say now?

Somewhere in her heart she was actually regretting her decision of calling him. Maybe she should have waited for him to call first.

God he shouldn’t pick up! Jade prayed with her eyes shut. Just as about when the call was to end and Jade was feeling relieved she heard that vibr@ting tone, indicating the call has been answered, and her heart almost st©pped.

She slowly brou-ght the phone to her ear and said, “H..ello” with quaveringl-ips.

“Hello Miss Jade” She heard him say. It seems he was more relaxed than she was. Why wouldn’t he?

“Good morning sir” She greeted.

“Good morning” Jade didn’t know what to say next….okay not that she didn’t know, but how was she going to say it? Jade bit her lowerl-ips as she struggled to open her mouth.

“Umm…about our plans for today” Jade started.

” When…”

“You are not trying to cancel are you?” Jake cut in taking Jade by surprise.

“Because miss Jade I really don’t know what I might do if you try breaking our deal. I mean there might be consequences…real consequences” Jake threatened in a calm tone when in reality he was a bundle of nerves. He had no choice but to use pu-ll this card on her.

“NO!” Jade exclaimed. She wasn’t going to cancel, not that that wouldn’t be a good idea. But she just knew she couldn’t.

“No??”

“Yes…I mean, I was just calling to know when we’ll be having today’s session. I wanted to know when you’ll be re-ady”

“oh” Jake sighed in relief. So it was just that after all.

“Sir, I don’t know if we could go early. I have a few other things to do later in the day, hope you don’t mind” Jade said softly.

A few other things? Things like what? They haven’t even started and she was alre-ady in a hurry. Trying to rush things up huh?

“Sir?” Jade called when she didn’t get a response from him.

Jake looked at the alarm clock on his be-dside, it was quite early to start pla-ying games for the day, but all he could say was, “How about now?” surprising both himself and Jade.

Jade’s eyes wi-de-ned at his reply. It was just 7am in the morning. Who the hell starts a day with video game? When she said ‘early’, she actually didn’t mean as early as 7am. How was she going to tell him that it was too early.

“s£nd me your address I’ll pick you in an hour” Jake said and dropped the call without waiting for her reply.

Jade was stunned when she heard the phone beeping indicating that the call has been disconnected. She couldn’t believe this was happening? How did ‘early’ mean this early??

He should have a few things he’d love to do at home on a Saturday right? Was he that enthusiastic about learning how to pl@ya game?

Anyway this would be better for her. She might have a enough time to go shopping after all. The earlier she was done with this, the better it was for her.

Jade looked at the time again, she had actually spent five minutes out of the one hour he had given her, thinking about how early it was.

She texted him the location of the nearest bus st©p close to her house. She would have preferred meeting him up at the game house, but she couldn’t call him back.

Jade rolled out of be-d and lazily dragged herself to the bathroom. For some reason her bath took longer than usual. Practically everything she did took longer than usual. From wearing her clothes and her shoes, to doing her hair. She didn’t know if she was being slothful on purpose or actually tired. Now that she was about meeting Jake, she was sure she’d probably die from embarras-sment when he appears in front of her.

Jade gr@bb£d her bag and walked out of the room. She met her mom in the kitchen who was preparing breakfast. How this woman loves cooking. Maybe it waa because she owned a pastry shop.

“Good morning mom” Jade greeted placing a k!sson Grace’s cheek.

“Don’t tell me you’re going out again without having breakfast” Grace asked dropping the knife in her hand, when she noticed Jade was fully dressed.

Jade only replied with a shrug, ma-king Grace frown.

“Do you know the meaning of PUD?” Grace asked in an angry tone.

“Nope” Jade shook her head innocently.

“It means peptic ulcer disease. Which is something you’re going to have if you keep skipping breakfast” Grace scolded.

“Mom skipping one meal doesn’t make one come down with any ailment” She said k!ss!ngher on the cheek again.

“And I’ll just have an apple okay” Jade said smiling, as she picked up an apple from the fruit basket.

“An apple is not meal Jade Peterson”

“Mom don’t forget an apple a day keeps the doctor away” She win-ked before sauntering out of the kitchen.

She looked at her wrist watch, she sighed when she realized she still had about fifteen minutes left, and that was enough time for her to walk to the bus st©p and wait for the gamey guy. That would be a good name to save his number with.

Jade took slow steps as she munched on her apple. She knew she had to hasten up, if she was to keep to time. The walk to the bus st©p was approximately 10-12 minutes and at the pace she was going she’d definitely take more time to arrive there. But she couldn’t help it, because the more the time drew close, the more her heart felt uneasy.

This would be different from the meeting they had in the conference room some days ago. Now she’d be ri-ding in the same car with him, and they would be so close to each other which is way way different from the meeting. Because at the conference there was a reasonable distance between them, thanks to the long round table which could house about twenty to thirty person’s. Unfortunately there wouldn’t be any conference table to help her today.

Jade sighed when she finally arrived at the bus st©p. It seems the walk didn’t take as long as expected. She quietly sat down and brou-ght out her phone to while away time while she waited for him. Jade had only opened her phone when she heard a car honk right in front of her.

Jade’s jaws dropped when she caught of sight of the black Lamborghini elemento parked right in front of her. She must say, it was a beautiful sight to behold.

But what shocked her the most was when the driver rolled his windows to reveal himself and to her greatest suprise, it was Jake Beau in all his glory.
