The next day…
Brina and Amelia met for lunch in Brina’s suite.
Along with them is Charlotte and Hailey. However, Amelia didn’t bring her cousin together.
As her cousin had to take a short trip back to their estate as Sir Francis asked her to come.
“Honestly, I didn’t expect such an outstanding performance from you, Lady Brina.” Amelia said to Brina as they sat down for lunch.
“Not that I am belittling you or marginalizing you. It is just that, these ladies here have been doing all of that stuff from their childhood. Our life goals and career are worlds apart from them. While they were getting groomed to become a Queen, we were chasing our other pas-sion.” Amelia said.
“In fact, I think you are highly capable of becoming a Queen. Though you haven’t got groomed like them, you still managed to outrun their experience and forte. I got carried away by your skill.” she chuckled.
“Amelia, Brina have just won one event. How were you able to come to a conclusion this soon?” Charlotte asked.
“Char, remember that I can read a person’s personality and inner character. I studied it for years, so yes. I am sure Brina is a perfect rival for Olivia and Katherine.” Amelia said.
“So, you aren’t raised like Olivia, Katherine, Rebecca, Kiara and Phoebe?” Brina asked.
Amelia smiled. “No. I am more like Prince Edward. We both were never interested in this boring, heavy life. It feels like we are chained and restricted to live our life.” Amelia answered.
She is close to Louis. Though she is the adopted daughter of his Uncle Francis, Louis and Amelia are like cousins.
“We have a few things in common. Just like how Prince Edward had no option but to take his responsibilities, I got for-ced to attend this competition actually.” Amelia confessed.
“Sir Francis, is he forcing you to compete for Edward’s hand?” Charlotte asked, slightly surprised.
Sir Francis knows that Louis has a girlfriend. In fact he said that he will support their love.
Amelia chuckled and shook her head. “No. Not my father. It’s my house members and my greedy uncles. Dad just wants me to attend and then go back to Africa to continue my research. I came here just to keep my house stable and prevent any internal rifts.” she truthfully answered.
Meanwhile, Charlotte looked at Brina and slightly nodded her head.
They just wanted to confirm that Amelia would not become an obstacle in their plan. They had to make sure that she wasn’t interested in becoming Louis’s Queen.
“I am sorry to hear that. I hope you get to chase your dream without any hurdles and pressures like these.” Brina said.
Amelia smiled. “That research is my lifetime dream. I just hope that I can finish it with flying colors and then chase my love.” she giggled.
“Love for Daniel?” Brina asked, making Amelia almost choke on her food.
Charlotte, who was sitting nearby, patted her back.
Even she is slightly shocked by Brina’s sudden question.
However she un-derstood that Brina decided to trust Amelia.
They have been observing Amelia since the day they arrived and Louis has also given a green flag to trust her.
Now, as they are trying to form an alliance, they have to be truthful to each other.
At one or other point, Amelia will find out about her relationship with Louis. It’s better if Brina herself reveals it to Amelia and eliminates the scope of misun-derstandings.
“Ahh.. ho.. how do you know?” Amelia asked, gulping her saliva.
No one knows about it except for Louis.
Could it be that Louis told Charlotte and Charlotte told Brina?
But she knows Charlotte.
She wouldn’t utter a thing about what Louis shared with her.. until or unless the other party is trustworthy and loyal to Louis.
Meanwhile, Charlotte un-derstood what’s going on in this scholar’s mind. She is sure that Amelia would have figured out the half truth by now.
“Amelia, why do you think I brou-ght Brina here? As someone who is close to both of me and Edward, do you really believe that we fought with each other? Seriously?” Charlotte questioned Amelia.
“I had my own suspicion. But it’s not totally impossible for you not to fight.”
“Given the seriousness of the situation, I thought something big would have happened between you and Edward and that would have caused the fight.” Amelia told, looking at both Charlotte and Brina.
“Well, my friend, I have to tell you that you are wrong.” Charlotte chuckled.
“I and Edward didn’t fight and the seriousness of the issue is much bigger and intense than what you think.” Charlotte told Amelia.
“Brina is not just a friend to me, Amelia. She is Edward’s girlfriend. The only woman he loves.” Charlotte dropped the bomb.
It’s not very usual for Princes to have girlfriends. Though they might have or had.. they are just merely flings.
At the end of the day, they have to marry a lady from Noble Families.
Seems like it’s Ethan and Edward who would change the history of the Prince’s rule.
Meanwhile, Amelia blinked her eyes.
She is shocked!
But not to the extent of losing her composed self.
Though she didn’t predict that this might happen, Amelia was having her own suspicions that Brina is not any simple woman and she has some certain reason in coming here.
“Ahh.. now I un-derstand. But, why did Edward arrange such a high security? Masquerade theme and no paparazzi..” Amelia asked, more like uttering to herself.
“I have some security problems. So, he was worried.” Brina told her, however a voice interjected their conversation.
“I am not just worried. I am scared for you as well.” Louis said, coming from her bedroom all in sudden.
He came throu-ghthe secret chambers which open in the closet of her bedroom.
This time, Amelia was shocked!!
Ho.. how?
How did Louis just appear?
Meanwhile, Louis approached Brina and ki-ssed her li-ps, from behind her chair.
It was just too intimate! How they ki-ssed, how his head leaned down, engulfing her li-ps to his..
However, Amelia blus-hed. But not because of their ki-ss but because of her crush, Daniel who just followed Louis into the room.
Ahh.. he is looking so hot!
“It’s still afternoon. You came back too soon?” Brina said, smiling back at her boyfriend.
“I finished my work early, so that I can spend more time with you.” Louis said and came around to sit beside her.
Daniel went and sat beside Amelia making her feel all jittery and nervous.
That is the only vacant chair.
“Uhmm.. hi.” Amelia greeted Daniel. Her voice was too nervous and shy.
Daniel blinked his eyes. ‘Huh? is she talking to me?’ he thought but noticing her eyes turned to him, he scratched his head a little.
“Hi?” he said, in an equally funny way. But his face is so rigid.
Meanwhile, Brina chuckled when she saw their funny interaction.
“You should have taught your friend Daniel how to greet a woman. If he is like this, he will never get a girlfriend.” Brina whispered to Louis.
Louis looked at them and then shifted his attention to his girlfriend. “I know how to greet my own woman. It’s left to him how he will interact with his woman.” he said.
Leaning towards her, he asked “Wanna know how I greet my woman?”
Not even giving her time to respond, he laced his li-ps on her ne-ck and ki-ssed it.
Brina’s cheeks almost exploded with red, when she noticed all the four pairs of eyes on them.
Louis is getting too shameless day by day.
Meanwhile, Louis ki-ssed his favorite sp-ot on her ne-ck and traced his li-ps to her earlobe before giving it a gentle bite.
“I greet my woman like this.” he whispered, before sitting back on his chair again.
Amelia has her eyes wide as she looks at Louis.
She never thought that Louis is this perverted and mainly, this R0m-ntic. She has seen a totally different shade of him, today.
And, in the first place everything felt very incredible to her.
First, finding out that Brina is actually Louis’s girlfriend.
Secondly, seeing Louis coming from Brina’s bedroom.
Third and most important thing! Daniel is just sitting beside her and they are having lunch together!!
“Sis-in-law, congrats on your victory! I didn’t congratulate you yet.” Daniel told Brina.
‘Ahh.. his voice is so hot when he adds emotion to his words. How good it will be if he talks to me in such a way.’ she thought.
“Thanks, Dan.” Brina said.
“I am your lucky charm, am I not, baby?” Louis asked Brina, leaning his head to her shoulder.
He simply wants his baby girl’s attention.
Brina almost rolled her eyes at his childish antics. “Yeah.. yeah, you are, darling.” she agreed.
“My baby is the best!” Louis said, this time leaning more, to ki-ss her li-ps.
“Guys.. guys, I’m hungry. Let’s start eating, please.” Charlotte told them, not able to take the dog food from this couple anymore.
While eating..
“How’s your research going on, Amelia?” Louis asked his cousin.
“Uh.. huh? Ohh, It’s going fine. I appointed my as-sistant and my friend to take control of it in my absence.” she told Louis.
“What’s your research about?” Brina asked her.
“Hmm.. we are researching aquatic plants. Trying to create a cure for blood cancer. It’s a marine experiment.” Amelia said, her voice laced with proudness. She is very grateful for being part of it.
“A must nee-d for research.” Brina commented.
“Yeah. Sure it is.”
“We have been working on it for almost four years now. If not because of my superior’s death, we would have made good progress at it.” she said, pursing her li-ps.
While they were talking, Calvin arrived throu-ghthe main door.
And, as soon as he saw the ‘get together’ he was slightly shocked.
If Katherine or Olivia would see this, they might die in jealousy.
Louis, Daniel, Amelia and Charlotte..
Combined, they make a deadly combination.
One has power and strength while the other one is the most powerful Security Chief of the Royal Family.. the next man is in the line to become a Prime minister.
The other one is the daughter of the current Prime Minister and the pampered lady from one of the powerful houses.. a girl with br@in and experience. And, the other one is the most famous last of the press, people and other noble families.. Charlotte.
Brina can easily take it as an advantage.. Yet, she decided to win Louis fair and square.
It’s her love.. their love.
No one has to speak ill of their relationship or blame Louis for being biased.
“Calvin. Come and join our lunch party.” Brina said, pointing to the chair next to Amelia.
“I want to Brina. But, King Edgar nee-ds my presence. He has something to discuss about the rebellion and the people behind it.” he said.
Calvin is like a private detective of King Edgar. He has a perfect grip on national politics and country media.
He also holds a significant role in national security and military.
And, he is always busy.
And, Louis has to be busy as well. But, as it is his bride selection event.. he is given some leniences.
After his marriage, he will be crowned as the King and after that he will be a lot busy in political matters and of course, producing an heir.
“I just came here to inform Brina that I might not be able to make it for her next event. I am travelling to City C borders to observe how worse the conditions are in the Kingdom of Ventris.” Calvin told all of them.
“Kingdom of Ventris? Better be careful and cautious, brother.” Charlotte told him.
“Yes, Calvin. Be careful. And, don’t hesitate to contact me for emergencies.” Louis said.
“Be careful, Calvin. Hope to see you soon.” Brina greeted.
“Thanks guys. I will be careful. King has specially allocated special guards for me.” Calvin told.
“And, I just found out that the next event is horse racing. It will be taking place in two days from now on.” he informed them.
