EPISODE 82
“What’s your tactic again girl? I am sure others will be laughing at you.” Calvin sighed.
“Ketch is good at handling heavy winds too. So, if we use the beam reach method the boat can withstand all that pressure. All we have to try is not to flap and we are all good.” Brina said.
It has always been her brother Seth’s strategy. Aiming for something which people avoid a lot. However there was another strategy he used while sailing. But Brina chose not to use that one now, for a reason.
“It’s also the fastest way to reach the end line and we can use our maximum speed for it. If we try not to flap and lose control, we will easily win. Given what others chose, I am sure they are trying to play safe without any risks.. except for Olivia.” Brina said.
“Hmm.. okay. Anyway, who is our special guest?” Charlotte asked.
Brina and Calvin secretly grinned. Though Brina selected a risky strategy, it seems she knows what she is doing.
If their Captain has confidence, then there is nothing much to worry about.
“Guess who?” Brina asked, chuckling.
“Don’t tell me it’s your baby.” Charlotte whispered, giggling.
“Yeah.” Brina winked, laughing.
Meanwhile, Louis was grinning too.
“Is it really a coincidence?” Daniel asked Louis.
“Yes, it truly is. I didn’t do anything, okay? It is really a coincidence that Brina and I got paired up.” Louis said.
Louis wouldn’t have leaked anything to Brina because everything is monito-red by Queen Mother Greta.
She was the one who numbered the boats and allotted the special guests.. Louis, Daniel, Eliina and their Royal Cousins.
So, there is no chance he would have leaked it to her. However, when Louis was asked to pick up a random sli-p in the bowl, he got the boat number six.
Which is what Brina selected.
“Maybe Gods are helping us too.” Louis grinned.
“But, is it not tough in Ketch? The wind direction isn’t that suitable.” Daniel asked worriedly.
“It’s tough. But, there are few risky strategies only professionals use. I think that’s why my baby girl selected one of them. Only Olivia and Brina would dare to try adventures.” Louis chuckled.
Meanwhile…
“You think Brina will win?” Katherine asked her brother, laughing.
“No chance, Kathy. That’s the foolish selection I have ever seen. She should be trying to show off.. but, that’s it.” he said.
“You will be the second after Olivia, sis.” he added.
“I want to be first!” she said stubbornly.
“Don’t be foolish. It’s not possible to outrun them. Second is good too. First, try to impress the Prince.” her brother told her.
“As our special guest is Princess Eliina, try to flatter her too.” he added.
….
“Ahh.. the Prince and Brina got paired up.” Olive told her sister.
“So?” Olivia asked.
“Nothing, sis.” Olive said.
“You, don’t you dare to try and mess the things for me. Follow my orders properly or else I will ask father to send you back, got it? You fool.” Olivia scoffed.
Olive shivered and nodded her head.
…..
“Do you think Brina will be Olivia’s competitor?” Amelia’s sister asked Amelia who is actually jumping in joy.
Yay!!
She got Daniel!!
Her crush got teamed up with her.. Yay!!
“Yep. As I said, Lady Brina is no ordinary. She has a strategy I guess.” Amelia said.
“Then I am looking for Olivia’s downfall.” her sister clapped her hand.
After ten minutes…
Every team reached their boats and started preparing all the preparation to sail. As they have to tie up the mainsail and jib to the mast and prepare other things as well. They will have ten more minutes to get ready for the race.
“Baby, let’s rock it!” Louis said, his eyes still on his work.
As Charlotte and Louis are pretending as if they aren’t on talking terms, she and Calvin are working on the other things right now.
It’s just Brina, Louis and Hailey.
“You know that you shouldn’t help right, honey? You just have to sit and enjoy. Okay?” Brina said, however her eyes are on Hailey, as if she is talking to her.
“Yep. And, I don’t want to ruin my wifey’s victory by making it look as if I made her win.” Louis said.
Brina blus-hed when she heard the word ‘wifey’.
“Who is your wifey? Huh?” Brina grumbled, but not directing her words to Louis. It looked like she was talking to herself.
“Of course it’s you, my dear wifey. And, I missed our bath today. Also, sorry for not coming yesterday night.” Louis said, making Hailey almost cough.
She is blus-hing red but thanks to her mask and her hat.
Seriously!!
They are still throwing dog food.. even here!
Sigh.. some people will never change!
“Seems like Brina doesn’t even know how to flatter the Prince.” Olivia’s brother scoffed.
However Olive, Olivia’s younger sister thought, ‘there is no nee-d to flatter when the Prince is already flattered. Some people don’t nee-d a flattering.. they are always charming already.’
But, she couldn’t say it aloud. So, she just obliged her sister’s order.
…
“Lady Amelia.. are you okay?” Daniel asked in worry when he saw her ‘tranced’ situation.
“Huh? Yeah.. yeah, I am good. It’s just so hot.” she said.
Daniel looked at the sun and said “It is indeed hot.”
However, Amelia sighed inside.
She is feeling hot.. but, not because of the sun but because of the sun in her life.. Daniel!
He is looking so handsome that she started to feel hot.
All she wants now is to pounce on him and ravish his li-ps!
But…
Curse her shyness!
She simply couldn’t even bring herself to speak properly in front of him. Her IQ and EQ levels drop down in front of him.
Meanwhile, Daniel sighed.
He never un-derstood how such a clumsy and cute ‘girl’ became such a scholar.

*BOOM*
With a gun fire, the race started.
As soon as everyone started accelerating speed, they wide-ned the space between themselves while they tried to take their own directions depending on their strategy.
The first ship to drastically decelerate is Kiara’s boat. They couldn’t control their kicker and entered the no end Zone.
So, the ship drastically reduced it’s speed and by the time they changed the angle, other ships speeded up.
Slowly, Phoebe and Rebecca got out of race too. The wind is blowing too fast and unpredictable.
After a few minutes,
Amelia and Katherine got stuck when both of them tried to take the same course. Just with a few feet between them, they somehow managed not to collide.
Though there used to be sailing competitions before, it was not this tough. The ships, the wind power… everything used to be little normal.
Now, because of masquerade themes which depict power and virtue, the competitions have toughened.
Meanwhile, Princess Penelope who was in the same direction as Katherine and Amelia didn’t have an option but to change the course.
In that mean time, Brina and Olivia have almost neared the endline with Olivia a little nearer to the endline compared to her.
“We will second for sure” Charlotte clapped.
She never thought they would reach this level too. Thanks to Brina’s spontaneous reflexes and fast judgement skills. They are able to avoid and mishaps and reach till here.
“Nah. We will win” Brina smi-rked.
That’s the reason she selected this ship.
As the wind has set to downwind with respect to their ship angle, Brina decided to change the angle from 60 to 90 degrees and she changes the mast direction to slant position.
As her ship can hold even to strong wind and she has taken risk now. Due to this, their speed increa-sed by a significant amount, taking Olivia off guard.
She never expected Brina would risk this much.
And, before she could change the course and compete with Brina,
Brina has already reached too near to the endline.
Changing course now is futile for Olivia.
“Ahh… who the hell is that woman?? I never thought she would risk this much! Their ship would have lost control” Olivia grumbled.
“Maybe she is a professional sailor. Who knows? She just got lucky, Olivia. Leave about it for now” her brother condoled his angry sister.
Who could blame her? She got accustomed to winning and her struggle has just begun!
Meanwhile…
“We won!! We won!!” Charlotte jumped in joy and hu-gged Brina. Soon Hailey joined her and they three hu-gged each other.
Louis who is looking at them pouted secretly.
He is not getting to hu-g her. If he would have got a chance, he would have surely twirled her in the air and ki-ssed her li-ps.
But, all he got now is to ki-ss her hand and congratulate her.
So sad!
“Brina, you have to go down and bring our House flag from the cabin. We have to hoist it” Calvin said.
“Louis, you have to leave your seal on it as well. Why don’t you go with Brina and complete it” Charlotte discreetly said, so others might not notice them talking.
Louis grinned and followed her downstairs. He immediately pulls her into a hu-g and he is about to ki-ss her, but his Royal guards who have just boarded the ship and came…. however they froze.
They are shocked by what they witnessed..
Their Crowned Prince is hu-gging Lady Brina!!
Louis cursed their timing and let go of Brina who is trying ha-rd not to laugh. ‘I will have my own way with you, tonight… hmph! Laugh as much as you want’ he childishly thought.
“Well done, Lady Brina” he formally said.and gestured to his guards to follow him upstairs.
Yes, yes, how could they forget that hu-gging is a friendly way of congratulating?
Their Prince was never formal like their ex Prince Ethan.
Later, they hoisted their House flag and everyone congratulated Brina.
Till now, they have not seen her as a potential candidate.
But now…
The way she turned around the circu-mstances to her favor, has indeed tied all of them in awe.
She would have predicted this and would have decided to take Ketch as her boat.
She has good insight.
One of the qualities nee-ded for a Queen!
“Taking risks isn’t a suitable quality of Queen” Olivia who came to congratulate her, said in a firm tone.
“It is not” Brina agreed with a smile.
Olivia is about to smile in victory but the next words made her seal her li-ps.
“However, if we are sure with what the outcome is and if we have given enough time to think about it, taking risks is not a bad thing.”
“Sometimes we have to call the shots to protect ourselves and people. So, taking risks have to be one of Queen’s attributes. But she should have a perfect grip on what she is doing” Brina said.
Olivia gritted her teeth.
She didn’t think Brina had such an acrid tongue. She is totally different from what they all have predicted.
Her voice has that power…. the power of making others oblige to her.
“I agree with Lady Brina in this. My parents always say the same words” Princess Sophene intervened.
“Congrats, Lady Brina. The best team has indeed won” she said to Brina in a friendly smile and then left with her team.
Katherine didn’t know whether to feel sad or happy.
She is happy that Olivia didn’t win.
But at the same time she is sad that a new candidate has come into picture.
“Congrats, Lady Brina. I am happy that you won” Amelia said, with a genuine smile.
“Thanks a lot, Lady Amelia.” Brina replied.
“We should meet for breakfast or lunch, sometimes,” Amelia offered.
“The plea-sure is all mine, Lady Amelia. How about tomorrow for lunch?” Brina asked.
“Yes. A definite okay” Amelia said and then she left too, leaving Brina and her team.
“You know what she meant by that?” Calvin asked, happily.
