*The next morning*
“Good morning sir” Ann greeted bowing slightly .
“Good morning sunshine” Max smiled
“Good morning ma’am” Nicole greeted
“Good morning Mr Nicole” she smiled ” Mr Max I will be in my office, bye mr Nicole” she walked out of the office.
“Woah” Nicole whistles “This your PA hot gan o”
“Hey thank you, but she’s off limits” he warned.
“Ho ho” Nicole laughed “are you straffing her too”.
“Shut up idiot,am not staffing her, what do you even take me for” he scoffed.
“Why are you getting all defensive huh?” Nicole smi-rked
“Shut up will you” he glared.
“Oooh she’s off limits to you, you still have Marietta remember?”.
“Huh ” he gro-aned “To say the fact am getting tired of this Marietta bullshit,it close to twenty years for Crist sake” he yelled angrily.
“Woah take it easy bro” Nicole laughed.
“Nicole come to think of it what if she doesn’t come back? Or she comes back with a child or a husband or she’s dead, Will I stay single for a long time, am tired of this bullshit already” he rants bitterly.
“Bro be patient, positive only” Nicole soothes.
“Patient do you say patient, will I be patient until waiting for my betrothed turns me to another thing what if she doesn’t like me or love me? What will i do?” He asked bitterly.
“Max maybe you should start looking for another person you know you can talk your parents out of you waiting for your betrothed” Nicole said.
“Yes” Max smiled happily “that’s where my PA comes in”.
“What about her” Nicole asks blankly
“I like her” he stated
“So? Nicole asked with a raised eyebrow
“Nicole why are you so dumb like this” he asked irritatingly.
“Hey don’t insult me” he glared at him ” oh are you planning to date her?” He asked foolishly.
“No am planning to court her idiot” Max laughed “so Mister” Max says standing eye to eye with Nicole “she is off limits”.
“Oh ” Nicole scoffs “is this you trying to intimidate me huh” he laughed “off limits my foot”.
Nicole walked out of the office to Ann’s office with Max at his heel.
“Anabelle how are you?” Nicole smiled.
“Am fine” she replied smiling sweetly at him.
“Am visiting the cinema today and I kinda bought two tickets and there’s no one to go with me and am thinking if you will like to tag along” he smiled.
“Really” she exclaimed happily that Max had to wonder where she always gets her energy from.
“I will really love to go, it been months since I last visited the cinema”she smiled brightly.
“Ok then, can I get your digit, so I can contact you when it time for the movie” he hands his phone to her.
“Sure” she collects the phone from him and Punched her number.
“Thanks princess” he smi-rked and walked out.
“Thanks Nicole ” Ann smiled sweetly at him.
One quick glance at Max was enough to wipe the smile off her face. “Huh” she said awkwardly
“Meet me in my office” he says coldly
He walked out, and Ann follows timidly behind him.
When they were in the office Max turned and trapped her to the door he bought his face down to her face.
“Why are you smiling sweetly at him” he asked.
“What………. what do you mean” she stuttered.
“You have never smiled like that to me before” he brings his li-ps dangerously to her li-ps.
“I …. um….. hmm ” she stuttered.
Max captured her li-ps with his.
He kis-sed her like his life depended on it and she recipocate the kis-s. “Cancel the appointment with him” he breaths
“Why” she asked softly.
“He’s trying to fli-rt with you” he kis-sed her cheek.
“Cancel It i will take you there myself”
“Ok” she breaths.
And he captured her li-ps with his again
All these attra-ctions continued for a very long time with Max stealing kis-ses from Ann anytime they are alone in the office, it no longer news that they both like each other,they hang out everyday.
This continued until they had to put a tag on what they are doing, while saying what they’re doing it means what do they call the hugs, kis-ses, sparks and dates.
One cool Friday afternoon after both Max and Ann had shared kis-ses here and there, trouble came looming.
While saying Trouble it means trouble in form of a medium shaped lady with the biggest a-ss you could ever imagine, she came walking majestically to the office.
“Hello” she called
Ann looked up from what she was typing “Good afternoon” she replied while scrutinizing her from hair to toe.
“Is Max in”.
“Yeah”.
“Ok bye” she smiled while walking into Max office.
“Gwed some ladies gat no shame, how can she dress like that” Ann muttered irritatedly.
“What?” She exclaimed “isn’t she the lady I caught with Max few months back, I wonder what they are doing in there since and I definitely know she didn’t come for business or whatsoever, oh Gwed” she started pacing up and down in the office.
Two hours later the so called lady walked out of the office in all giltry smiling to herself.
“Huh” she found herself on her way to Max office before she could stop herself.

“Oh Ann” Max called shifting uncomfortably on his seat
“Isn’t that the girl that came to your office the other day?” Ann seeths with anger lacing in her voice.
“Yes what about her?” He asked
“Max” she yelled
“What?”.
“What? Do you say what?” She asked with a raised eyebrow.
“what is she doing here for the past two hours?” She asked.
“Ann really! Are you keeping up with the time she came here? ” He walked around her.
” Look Ann” he said trying to hold her.
“Oh please don’t touch me” she sniffed ” I thought you had some decency and the day I asked you were all defensive huh I thought we had something beautiful going on”.
“Ann please” he begged “it’s not what you think”.
“No ” she snapped ” it not about what I think, you are my friend and I really like you but who go about kis-sing their friend”
“Ann” he moved closer to her “you like me, that is Good” he smiled.
“Am I supposed to hate you?”.
“Nope” he laughed.
“It’s not even funny okay,I like you fine, but wait don’t you like me all the kis-ses, hugs and all”.
“Don’t even say that, I really like you too infact am hoping to start a relationship with you” he holds her cheeks fondly
“Ha ha” Ann grinned “this is good news Max and we ought to celebrate it” she replied sarcastically
“What is it Ann” he asked.
“You know what before I could consider getting into a relationship with you,there are other things to consider” she replied moving out of his hold.
“Things like what madam” Max asked getting fed up with her talks.
“First I can’t date a Casanova, because we both know you have a quite number of history with ladies and I can’t walk into a death trap with my two eyes wide open” she shrugged
“Oh ” he breaths “so what now!”.
“Yeah so this is my final judgement” she says dramatically
“Please don’t say no we can make this work” he begged.
“Yeah” she replied “we will definitely make it work if you can cut all ties with your girlfriends, flings whatever, I don’t share my man with others”.
“You mark your territory isn’t it” he smi-rked
“Yeah whatever” she rolled her eyes
“Yeah secondly don’t come looking for me at my house and thirdly I quit” she said
“Wait !what?” He asked with his eyes filled with horror
“Do you know how I feel when all those Nigerian girls come shaking their stupid a-ss” she pouted
Max moved closer to her again
“Huh huh huh someone is jealous” he kis-sed her
“Huh don’t you get it” she gro-aned “don’t kis-s me am not your girlfriend”
“Like are you serious about what you said a minute ago?” He asked
“Am damn serious about that, I quit working starting from now, I can’t stand in the same room with you without wanting to kis-s you senselessly’and I can’t risk that, you would think I have forgiven you” she replied
“So you haven’t forgiven me?” He asked as he rest his hands on her shoulder
“I haven’t and I don’t even know how I wasn’t freaking out about this” she muttered
“So I will be taking my leave Mr CEO, see you when you are Casanova free” she walked out while blowing a kis-s at him
“fu-ck !” Max exclaimed

Max went to meet his friend at the bar
“Nelson she is giving me a break” Max complained to his friend as he sat down
“Who is giving you a break, Celia?” Nelson asked blankly
“No it’s Ann” he replied
“Who’s Ann? Your new chick?” He asked
“Nope why do you guys always think the worst of me?” He gro-aned
“Sorry” Nelson pursed his li-ps
“Ann the lady you saw me with at the club the other day” he explained
“Oh Annabelle I remember her what about her?” He asked
“She’s giving me a break” Max said
“Are you guys dating or something” he asked
“Nope we’re about to date and she said something like she can’t date me” he replied
“Max are you straffing the girl” Nelson winked at him
“Shut up idiot am not, she actually told me to cut all ties with my girlfriends and flings” he muttered
“What?” Nelson laughed “Guy you are busted”
“Yeah”
“The almighty Max Anderson, the certified play boy” Nelson hails sarcastically
“Shut up Nelson, don’t act as if you are better than me” he snapped
“Oh ok” Nelson laughed
“What do I do? I really like her” he whined
“Like or love?” Nelson asked
“Like, love whatever what do I do?” He asked
“Well do what she wants” Nelson advised
“Hell no, you know I can’t do that” he exclaimed
“Then forget about the girl” Nelson shrugged
“I can’t, I like her so much” he said
“What do you want me to do?” he asked again.

*Few days later*
“You don’t have to quit, you know” Max said as he joggs along with Ann one morning.
“Yeah I guess staying at home su-ck s” she rolled her eyes.
“You know I could work out some things for you like put you to another department” he informed.
“Yes you spoke well but I would still be seeing you and I know how you can be, you could sneak up your face in my office” she snapped.
“It’s true,I really don’t want you to stop working for me, how about we meet later today at my office” he stated.
“Your office?” Ann asked suspiciously.
“Yes I promise to keep my hands to myself,I will be a perfect gentleman and please dress cooperatly I have a surprise for you” he smiled.
“Ok then see you in the afternoon Max” she said and jogged off.
“Bye” he replied.
“So?” Ann asked whilst sitting down in his office for what seems like forever .
Max keep staring at her
“Mister” she snaps her finger at his face.
“Yeah madam follow me while I fill you in” he stand up from his seat and moves towards the door with Ann behind him.
“Am taking you to the other company am managing Lawson and Co this Noble company belongs to the the Lawson’s the king to be precise so we actually need a CEO, I want Marie to be the CEO when she comes back but the post can’t be vacant for long so Anabelle instead of quitting will you please be the CEO of this company” Max asked hopefully.
“Woah that’s cool I mean huge but do you think am up to the task?” She smiled brightly at him.
“Huh not that I think, I know you are up to the task, you have been working for me close to a year now and I saw a very ha-rd working lady,so I will be taking you there now” he informed.
“Wait” Ann stopped “when you mean taking me there,are we taking the same car?” She asked.
“Yeah we’re” he replied.
“No” she yelled childishly “I can’t be in the same car with you”.
“Why?” He asked confused.
“It just that…….. you know.” She stuttered.
“Ann I promise you didn’t I , you have to trust me I can’t do anything against your wish” he said.
“Are you sure you know I can’t resist and am also not going back on my words” she replied battling her eye lids.
“Uhg” Max gro-aned “madam you are over reacting I won’t touch you I promise” he promised.
“Ok I have your words, you must not break your promise” she warned.
“I won’t” he laughed.

“Ladies and gentlemen if you could remember few months ago I left an information that the New CEO would soon be here, so ladies and gentlemen am proud to introduce to you the new CEO in the person of Miss Annabelle Richa-rd please make her feel welcome” Max introduced Ann to all the employees. working at Lawson and co.
Ann walked to the podium.
“Good afternoon everyone am Annabelle Richa-rd the new CEO please cooperate with me” she greeted with her eyes sweeping across the room.
“Mr Nelson please help Ms Richa-rd settle down and Ms Banky you are her personal a-ssistant and please let all endeavor to work together with her” Max said.
