“Excuse me sir,can I come in” Zoe requested as she stood at the door and I signaled her to come in.
“What do you want” I asked seriously not even staring at her.
“I c@m£ to inform you that you would be attending a meeting in 30minutes time. And also thank you for saving me earlier” She uttered softly and I stared at her.
What the…. Why’s she looking all dolled up. This outfit suits her perfectly. I muttered in my head staring at her.
“You should cancel the meeting,I can’t make it. I’m having an headache so I would be heading home now. Just in case you want me signature on any do¢v-ment just drop by my mansion. You can go now” I instructed.
“And about earlier, forget we ever had such an encounter at the hallway with the janitor” I exclaimed.
“Yes boss” She uttered and left my office walking se-ductively.
“She’s obviously trying to s£dûç£me… That’s good anyways I still got that pla-yboy personality. I almost forgot what I used to be like since Melissa c@m£ here” I gr-unted frustratedly.

AUTHOR’S POV
Luna was seated on the throne frustratedly as the Hattan pack demand for an audience with her but she was too anxious to see them.
“They’re adamant to see you, there’s nothing st©pping them from seeing you today”Oliver said worriedly.
“We defeated them fifteen years and we can still do it again” Kevin said seriously.
“We only defeated them because they thought the Alpha would be coronated soon. Looks like they heard about my pending coronation” Luna said anxiously.
“Selene, should be here with the trinity alre-ady, that’s the only ritual that’s pending your coronation. Supreme do you think I should pay her a visit in the human reign” Oliver suggested.
“We should talk about that after our meeting with the Hattan pack” Luna said and signaled the guards to let them in.
30minutes later.
The hall was filled with intense silence after the Hattan pack settled down.
“Seems like,this meeting must be a very crucial one for the Alpha to be here himself. So what’s the issue this time” Luna uttered boldly hiding her fears.
“Luna when are we meeting the new Alpha of Polatan pack. You can’t keep hiding him from us” Hattan Alpha uttered seriously glaring at Luna.
“Why’s the Alpha worried about that? The last I could remember it’s not your business to know who our Alpha is. What if I tell you am the Alpha” Luna g@sped out.
“You can’t be any ridiculous. Luna just because Polatan pack is the strongest pack doesn’t give you the upper hand here. You still can’t survive without us,we lost the war fifteen years ago because we let our guard now but now everything’s different,you shouldn’t un-derestimate us” The Alpha forewarned.
“What are you implying” Luna said losing her cool.
“If you don’t want to call upon a war,be good and set a d@t£ for us to meet the Alpha. Hope you know the wolves are been threatened by the vampires. We have no idea when war would break out between the vampires and werewolves” The Alpha threatened.
“What do you mean? How come other packs aren’t informed about this” Luna asked curiously.
“It’s not like the Polatans are in good terms with any pack. I noticed even the warriors aren’t here at the palace,still not in good terms with your warriors. Ha” The Alpha scoffed as he stood up.
“We would take our leave now” He added seriously and left with his pack.
“Oliver I don’t think you would go after Selene. Let’s just go ahead with the bloodshed rituals. I have so many cousins so it won’t difficult sacrificing one of them for my success” Luna uttered with a malicious smile.
“Supreme are you sure,you want to do this” Oliver asked curiously.
“I’m desperate. Desperate times calls for desperate measures. It doesn’t matter shedding another royal blood”
“The rituals would be fixed middle of this month when there’s no sign of the moon” Kevin ch!pped in.
“Middle of this month is a little far but it doesn’t matter” Luna agreed with a sm-irk.
HUMAN REIGN
Miles is at his mansion,he just got out of the shower, he was putting on a short and his hair drenching with water. He was staring at his handsome face on the mirror and at the same time trying to dry up his hair with a towel.
“Let’s look around” Miles uttered and went out of his room,he head for the sitting room just then Zoe c@m£ in.
I knew she was definitely going to visit. Miles muttered in his head as a smile appeared on his face.
“It hasn’t gotten to six hours I left the office” Miles joked.
At the sight of Miles’s ba-re che-st and drenching hair which made him look very S-xy and h0t, Zoe couldn’t help it but swallow ha-rd .
Zoe are you sure you want to do this? Am I not going Abit far in just trying to accomplish this one request. Zoe thought confused as she judged her decision.
“Miss Zoe..” Miles snapped her out of her thought.
“Sorry.. I c@m£ to check up on you. You said you had an headache” Zoe said nervously.
“Just that…. Don’t you think I have more than a thousand nurses to look after me, it’s just an headache no big deal but I shouldn’t be rude. Thanks for your concern” Miles expressed with a smile.
“If you don’t have anything else to say I would head back to my room” Miles uttered about to walk to the stairs when Zoe ran to him.
“Em… Boss” She hesitated looking at his ba-re che-st.
“Why do I have the feeling,you c@m£ for something else” Miles hinted as he began to walk closer to her and she walked backwards not knowing what to do but suddenly she missed her step,she gr@bb£d Miles’s hand for support and they both fell to the ground, Miles placed his palm at the back of her head so she doesn’t get hurt as they fell.
They locked eyes and Miles could hear Zoe’s heart beat fas-ter than usual. Her hair was covering one of her eyes, Miles gently ca-ressed it to the back of her ears.
Zoe lost consciousness of her pride and placed herl-ips on Miles. Miles’s eyes went wi-de open after the act,his heart fluttered for the first time.

“Emm…. Sorry about that boss” Zoe apologized immediately feeling embarras-sed as she broke the k!ssand they stood up. Miles was still mute as he tried to process the whole scene.
“What are you apologizing for” Miles asked sounding a bit rude.
“About the….” Zoe pursed looking away but Miles gr@bb£d her closer to him as he stared de-eply into her eyes,he gently placed hisl-ips on hers, at first she was having a second thought about re-ciprocating but she didn’t realize when she opened up and exchanged ton-gue with Miles. They got to Miles room and Miles placed Zoe on his hvge soft be-d.
The thought of having a night rest on that be-d would make one give up on his job. Zoe thought and Miles broke the k!ss.

MASON POV
I was seated at my office, worriedly waiting for Melissa to show up. She suddenly disappeared without informing either me or Miles. A call c@m£ on my phone and I swiftly took the call thinking it was Melissa.
“Melissa where are you” I asked curiously.
“Melissa… Why would you be looking for Melissa” Miles asked at the other end of the phone.
“Oh sorry about that Miles,I just can’t get hold of Melissa. Do you think something happened to her” I asked worriedly.
“Nothing happened to her,she told me she was going home” Miles replied.
“When do you think she will be back because she didn’t tell me she was going anywhere” I complained.
“She didn’t tell me either,I just guessed. Melissa always runs away when she’s upset but don’t worry she will be back soon and that’s not the reason why I called. Mason can you sleepover at your place tonight,am having an important guest. Bye” Miles said and hung up.
“What the… Miles what’s that supposed to mean? You’re abandoning your buddy for a girl. Now I feel so lonely” I uttered frustratedly and drank full glas-s of water.
My phone began to ring again.
“Hello Ariana, what do you want” I asked sarcastically as I picked up the call.
“Boss,a call c@m£ in saying Melissa ma’am is drun!ksomewhere at bar” Ariana muttered softly.
Is it just me or I feel Ariana treats me better than anyone else.
“What did you just say? s£nd me the address of the bar” I said swiftly and hung up.
“$h!t…. Melissa” I shouted as I gr@bb£d my jacket and ran out of my office.
Ariana s£nt Melissa’s location to my phone and I drove down to bar.
I got to the bar and saw Melissa laying on a couch at a corner in the bar.
“Melissa… What are you doing here? Why did you drink yourself to stupor” I scolded her as I tried to get her up but she dragged me down to sit with her.
“St©p scolding me… I’m not drun!k. I’m a daughter of a warrior,do you think just a few bottles of beer can make me drun!k” She said drun!kenly as she sat up.
“But why are you here? I thought we talked things out with Miles” I said softly.
“I just feel lonely that’s all. Today I realized Miles has found his mate. All my life I thought Miles was my mate” She uttered and tears roll down her cheeks.
“Come on Melissa, don’t cry. Did Miles do anything to hurt you” I asked concerned as I wiped off her tears.
“Of course he didn’t do anything to hurt me. He’s only fighting for his happiness. Mason why is it that we’re the only ones left to find happiness. I don’t know if you feel this loneliness am feeling” She uttered slowly with tears rolling down her cheeks like an ocean,she ran into my embr@ce as I felt her silent tears on my shoulders.
“I feel lonely too Melissa. But I don’t have the courage to pursue what I love” I muttered almost in a whisper as I ca-ressed her hair.
“No more feelings,we should only devote all our feelings to protecting Miles” Melissa added sobbing silently.
“You can cry out loud,I don’t mind” I advised and she boost into a heavy sob as she screamed.
MILES POV
I left Zoe in my be-droom as she freshened up and fell asleep on my be-d. I wanted her to feel at home so I went to my inner room.
Flashes of our pas-sionate night couldn’t st©p flashing in my br@in.
What’s that feeling? I’ve never felt anything like that before. I’m sure I didn’t just do that for fun. I could feel my heart flutter only by staring at her. I thought and placed my palms on my face,my face was h0t like I was having a high fever.
“Why are my blu-shing? This isn’t my first time so what’s wrong with me.. Do I have feelings for Zoe?”
“No way, that’s not possible” I giggled and stood up from my be-d.
“Miles you just did that for fun, nothing else. You can’t be tied down with just one girl. She’s not even your type to begin with”
“But I had a freaking great time with her. Don’t think that way Miles but I want to keep her beside me” I uttered frustratedly as I ruffled my hair, staring at the mirror.
I should go check on her maybe she’s having difficult falling asleep. I muttered in my mind and ran to my room, sliding the door quietly and went in.
“I can’t fall asleep, plea-se can you sleep beside me” Zoe requested as she turned the lights on.
“Are you sure” I asked as my heart fluttered.
“Yes” She nodded and I l@ybeside her on the be-d,she covered me with the blanket then switched off the lights.
She wra-pped her hands around me and placed her head on my che-st.
This is so like a dream. I can’t believe this is happening to me. I muttered in my head excitedly and sh0t my eyes.
ZOE POV
I wra-pped my hands around Miles to activate the spell but his b©dy was rebuking it like there was a shield blocking my spell.
What’s going on? Why are my spell not working? I practiced for twelve years to make my spell the strongest known in history but it’s not ma-king any effect on him. I muttered in my mind confused.
