Why is the boss not here yet? I wondered staring at the elevator waiting patiently for Miles to show up.
“Copy all this files and submit it at my desk before 10:30am today” Ariana ordered as she placed a pile of files on my desk.
“10:30..” I asked almost in tears.
“10:30 you heard me right,get to it immediately” She instructed and went back to her office.
“How am I supposed to finish all this before 10:30? Ariana scre-w you” I cursed frustratedly and everyone stared at me.
“Hahaha…. scre-w you Ariana Ali. It’s trending now online” I lied with a silly smile and everyone’s attention went back to what they were doing.
I almost got on the wrong side of the employees. Zoe put it together and get this done with. I muttered in my head and went back to work.
11:00AM
“You really are such a slowpoke. Do you plan on getting on the good side of the boss with this weak spirit of yours. You really have no idea how much of a falacy you’re in because of your thoughts” Ariana scoffed as I submitted the copied files.
Who the hell are you calling a slowpoke? I muttered in my mind angrily and I noticed the color of my eyes has changed to sky blue.
Zoe you can’t get expo-sed now… You haven’t gotten the trinity yet. I thought and immediately the color of my eyes went back to normal.
“I’m sorry” I muttered out swallowing my pride.
“Leave” She ordered and I went back to my desk.
The elevator went wi-de open and a malicious smile appeared on myl-ips.
Finally I would be witnessing something fun.
Mason and the rude lady I saw at Miles place last night cane out of the elevator and Miles wasn’t with them.
What’s going on here? Why’s Miles not with them? I muttered in my mind miserably.
“Attention everyone… Everyone should go to the meeting room now” Mason instructed and left the rude lady.
We all got the meeting room..
“Everyone meet Melissa M, your new chief director. Let’s welcome her with a warm cl@p” Mason said and everyone cl@pped.
Who’s she to Miles? Why was she given the chief director… Does this mean she will live in Miles’s place from now on. She kinda looks very protective,there’s no way I would get my way if she’s always around Miles. I muttered in my frustratedly.
“Looking forward to working with you all” She said with a smile.
There’s a lot of things written behind that smile. I thought.
“The boss couldn’t announce this himself because he’s on a business trip and would be back in two days time. Everyone can now go back to work” Mason instructed.
Business trip but how come that wasn’t on Miles’s schedule,am his as-sistant yet I didn’t know this. Something doesn’t feel right. I thought staring at the rude lady.
MELISSA POV
“This is indeed a hvge company Mason” I complimented after the meeting was over but Zoe was the only one left.
“Zoe what’s wrong? Feel too good to have met your chief director” Mason asked sarcastically.
“I’m sure that’s the least statement she wants to hear right now” I scoffed.
“Mason why didn’t the boss come to the office today” Zoe asked boldly.
“Didn’t you hear my announcement or you just feel like wasting my precious time” Mason said rudely.
“I’m his as-sistant and it wasn’t written on his schedule that he would be going on a business trip. Where’s the business trip taking place” She asked seriously.
“Why are you being all worked up? It’s not like you’re to babysit him or something” Mason mocked.
“Looks like some intern here doesn’t know her place. Someone like you doesn’t even deserve to be Miles’s as-sistant so better shut it and get back to work. You spent your whole day yesterday trying to s拢d没莽拢Miles so it’s your fault you weren’t informed. Let’s go Mason” I said rudely and went out with Mason.
AUTHOR’S POV
Today’s the third day after Miles transformed into a wolf. Melissa is getting more anxious because Miles isn’t out yet from the attic.
Zoe wandered about at the office impatiently waiting for Miles to come to the office.
“Ivy what do you think is the boss’s favorite” Zoe asked curiously.
“Why would you be asking such a question? Anyways Miles loves attention and S-xy girls just like me” Ivy joked and Zoe hissed.
Zoe had a flashback on how pretty and S-xy Melissa looks then coupled with what Ivy just said.
“Yeah… Miles really likes girls who look S-xy” Zoe concurred nodding her head.
“Zoe this is the first time you’re agreeing on something with me” Ivy said surprised.
“Ivy what do you think would make a guy grow trust for a girl” Zoe asked curiously.
“What’s wrong with you today Zoe? What’s with your scary questions” Ivy hinted.
“What do you mean scary? How’s my questions scary”
“Of course it’s scary… Don’t tell me you’re in love? Even though you finally met someone your heart beats for that person shouldn’t be the Boss,he’s the last person you should have feelings for” Ivy forewarned.
Who’s having feelings for who? You’re right about that Ivy, Miles is the last person I should have feelings for. I’m just looking for ways to get closer to him and accomplish my aunt’s request. Zoe thought with determination.
“You got it all wrong Ivy so go ahead and answer my question. What do you think a girl should do to make a guy trust her” Zoe asked curiously.
“I don’t know how important my answer is to you but you must make sure to make proper use of it” Ivy instructed with a silly smile.
“Firstly, Guys also nee-ds protec-tion just like every girl does, secondly, attention, thirdly, always been honest, fourthly this is the most vicious among all so you have to come closer,I can’t say it out loud” Ivy uttered and Zoe brou-ght her ear closer to Ivy and Ivy whispered in Zoe’s ear.
“What..!” Zoe screamed out then covered her mouth with her palms as everyone stared at her.
“Zoe what was that for” Ivy murmured with a n@没ghty smile.
“You’re indeed as n@没ghty as I thought,what the hell” Zoe grimaced.
“I would advise you to go with the fourth one because it brings fas-ter results” Ivy joked.
“No way… You’re so n@没ghty” Zoe uttered shyly and ran back to her desk.
A beep c@m拢 on Zoe’s phone and it’s a message from Ariana.
“Go stand at the boss’s door. The boss is heading to the office” Ariana texted.
“Yes!” Zoe uttered out of excitement and quic-kly ran to the Janitor’s block.
“Excuse me sir can I have a word with you” Zoe request an audience with one of the Janitor’s.
Zoe had a flashback on what Ivy told her.
Flashback*** Guys also nee-d protec-tion just like every girl does*** Flashback ends.
This is only a stepping stone. Zoe thought.
“Mister take this 250$,you just nee-d to do something for me” Zoe said with a n@没ghty smile.
“What am I doing miss” The Janitor asked swiftly.

MILES POV
I c@m拢 out of the attic three hours ago, feeling all strong and energetic.
I’m all prepared to head for the office and I heard a knock on my door.
“Come in” I uttered and turned around.
“Holy baby, who’s this beauty” I g@sped out almost drooling and Mason c@m拢 in as well.
“I’m lucky,you still find me to be a beauty” She uttered with a melodious tone.
“Mason who’s she? She kinda looks very familiar. She looks like one clumsy childhood friend of mine. That was an awful comparison” I scoffed and I suddenly felt an thun-derous sl@p on my S-xy cheeks.
“What the hell….” I squawked.
“I can’t believe you’re still like this” She uttered glaring at me.
“Melissa” I yelled ru-bbing my cheeks.
“OK,you still got your remembr@nce s-en-se” Mason laughed.
“What’s there to remember, she’s still as grouchy as always”
“You’re so annoying” Melissa hissed rolling her eyes.
“Oh okay, let’s just get straight down to business. You’re no longer kids” Mason uttered staring at me.
“Don’t look at me,look at her” I ch!pped in.
“You’re good looking now that you’ve grown up” Melissa complimented with a smile as she robbe-d my cheeks.
“St漏p it… I’m no longer a kid. Anyways I’ve missed you” I said laughing.
“Let’s head for the office so we would catch up on our way” I added.
“Let’s go” Mason said smiling.
We head out for the office,on our way we head a catch up on old times and pres拢nt time. We got to the office.
“Mason come with me,I think I nee-d to show you something” Melissa said.
“I will meet up with you guys later” I said and head for my office.
I walk throu-gh the lobby and suddenly I heard Zoe scream.
“Watch it boss” She screamed and pushed me out of the way with her.
She actually scratched her arm when she was running to me.
“Hey, don’t you watch where you’re going” I yelled at the janitor who almost pushed me with his cleaning equipments.
“Zoe are you okay” I asked curiously.
But why did she safe me. What’s happening here? Have she develop feelings for me? I thought confused and placed my palm on her injury and she winced but suddenly the injury disappeared.
What’s going on here? Did I just heal her? Why are my powers becoming visible without my knowledge. I guess that’s why Melissa is here. I thought and left Zoe for the elevator.
ZOE POV
Ariana informed me immediately when Miles got to the company’s elevator so I got my janitor re-ady for the next protec-tion plan.
Miles c@m拢 out of the elevator so I signaled the janitor to put our plan into action. The plan was to approach Miles with his cleaning tools then I appear before he gets close.
Didn’t know I would get hurt in the process. But how come Miles saved me instead,I was to push him away and get hit by the janitor but he dragged me with him instead.
“Zoe are you okay” Miles asked curiously.
“Ouch…” I winced as Miles placed his palm on my injury but suddenly he left me for the elevator.
I raised my arm to get a proper look at my injured arm but surprisingly the injury was no longer there. I’m completely healed like I never got hurt.
“What the…. What kind of power do you possess Miles” I muttered out in shock.
MILES POV
I got to the management block where Melissa and Mason were. I dragged them both to my office.
“Is there something the both of you aren’t telling me” I asked curiously staring at them.
“What do you mean Miles” Melissa asked confused.
“Are you really confused or you’re just pla-ying dumb? Mason we promised not to keep things from each other but what’s this” I uttered frustratedly.
“Miles what’s going on? How are we supposed to know what you’re talking about if you don’t elaborate” Mason ch!pped in.
I hesitated before answering.
“Em… About that… My powers are becoming visible. Just now I healed Zoe’s injury without my notice” I said looking away.
“What” They both chorused in surprise.
“But why does it have to be Zoe? What if she puts much thought into it. As it stands she’s the last person I trust” Melissa added.
“I will go get us some cu-p of coffee” Mason said as he stood and went to the coffee table to make coffee.
“Why do you sound like that Melissa? Have you crossed path with Zoe,you sound like you don’t like her” I asked.
“What’s there to like about her, she looks very suspicious. You know I don’t dislike people easily, it’s not in my personality”
Mason brou-ght the coffees,he was about giving Melissa a cu-p when his hand sli-pped and the coffee was about spilling on Melissa, swiftly I ran to her and caught the cu-p just in time but their mouth dropped as they stared at me in shock.
“What’s the stare for? Luckily it didn’t spill on her” I said with a smile but they were still mute.
“What’s going on” I asked staring at them.
“Miles did you just vanish just now? Your powers are really become visible” Melissa g@sped out breathlessly.
“I don’t think this is a good sign because you don’t even know when it happens” Mason added looking away as he sat down sluggishly.
“Did I just disappear” I asked curiously.
“Yeah, you just did” They both chorused.
“Miles your return is closer than I thought” Melissa added.
“What do you mean my return? Return to where? I hope it’s not what am thinking” I emphasized and they nodded.
“Come on Mason,what about our principle. You also agreed we were never going back to Polatan. Where did all that motivation go to. Going back there is the last thing on my mind” I protested and Melissa hit the table ha-rd , scaring Mason and I.
“You’re not going back? Why? Is that the reason you were born? The late Alpha taught you how to be a s-en-sible leader not a run away leader. You want to spend the rest of your life here in the human world,go ahead and do so but what about your powers how do you explain that to the people around you,fine you would silence some but how many more do you plan on silencing in the future. I’m a daughter of a warrior so I don’t mind shedding people’s blood,what about you,do you have the heart to kill those innocent people who witness your powers” Melissa yelled.
“You should put much thought into your decisions” Melissa said seriously as she stood up and left my office.
“Miles, Melissa was right about that. I know we agreed on never going back to polatan but the situation is changed now, your powers are becoming more and more visible. We shouldn’t shed innocent people’s blood just because you’re running away from your responsibility. I will leave you put some thoughts into it” Mason said and left as well.
