Emily’s POV

“Come here, I want to show you something,” Sebastian told me as he took my hand and led me out of the room. We walked outdoor, to the very back of the palace, where my eyes fell upon a luxury swimming pool, surrounded by different roses with different colors. Some of the petals floated around in the pool of water and it looked like a spa-rose-bath was awaiting.

“This was my mom’s favorite place in this palace. She use to come here to think or just to get away from everything,” he explained.

“It’s beautiful,” I replied and it really was.

“She designed it herself and she planted the roses. She loved roses.” His eyes twinkled as he spoke. He must really miss his mom. I can’t imagine what I’ll do without my mother, without being able to call her on the phone to hear her voice and her cheerfulness.

“She’s in a better place,” I said to comfort him.

“Yeah. I do believe so.”

We walked over to two lounge chairs and sat down with a heavy silence. I knew he had a lot on his mind, especially about the baby but I refused to ask him about it, unless he wanted to talk more about it.

“How about a bath?” he suggested after five minutes.

“Okay, but I didn’t walk with a swim-wear or even a towel.”

“I’ll get the towels. And you can get in with your un-derwear. No one comes here, not even my father. This area belongs to only me.” He got off the chair and I took my clothes off, revealing my black lace br@ and pa-nties.

Putting my feet first, I got into the pool. The water was surprisingly very warm and it felt like all of my problems were being melted away instantly. I nee-ded just this.

“You’re enjoying yourself, aren’t you?” Princess Naomi’s voice precedes her as my eyes caught her standing posture, hands on hip, with her eyes locked to me.

“Why are you here?” I asked from the pool.

“What does he see in you that he cannot see in me? That’s nothing unique or amazing about you. You’re just a leech who wobbled here to su-ck his life away but I’m not about to just sit around and let that happen!”

I had had just about enough. I got out of the pool, dripping we-t, and came face to face with her.

“Look, I know you don’t like me but that’s okay. If I were you, I wouldn’t like me too but it’s not my fault that Sebastian’s more attached to me. Him and I have history together. I’m no stranger to him.”

“But you are to me, the Kingdom and it’s people. Do you realize that if Sebastian gets married to you, that you’ll have to rule the people? I’m sure you’ll su-ck at that.”

“You have lots in common with the King. You’re both stuck up, judgmental….”

I didn’t finish my statement because I was slapped across the face by Naomi. I was stunned. My hand held my cheek as the area ached.

“Naomi! What the hell!” I heard Sebastian’s voice from behind me. He held my wa-ist as he stood protective in front of me, blocking Naomi from my vision altogether.

“She attacked me!” she lied.

“Why are you here? No one is allowed here except me and I didn’t invite you here! Why can’t you get it throu-ghyour thick skull that I don’t love you. I don’t want to be with you and I’ll never get married to you. Go back to your sorry excuse of a country and find someone there who’ll love you because I DON’T!” Sebastian shot at her and tears flooded Naomi’s eyes. She scurried away as quick as she can, leaving us alone again.

_____

“Let me see,” Sebastian calmly said as he removed my hand from my slapped cheek. “It’s a bit swollen.”

“It’s fine. Let’s just get back into the pool.”

“How are you this calm? The Emily I knew would have skinned her alive then toss her remains into the pool.”

I laughed, and after bathing with Sebastian and making out with him more times I can count, the swelling and ache from my cheek disappeared.

__________

I was waiting for Sebastian in my bedroom. He had promised me a full body m@$$age at mid-night and it was was exactly mid-night. A soft knock came and I tiptoed quietly to the door.

He walked in with a small golden bottle and a proud smile on his face.

“stri-p,” he simply said and bit his bott-om li-p. I slowly sli-pped off my silk night gown, standing only in my pa-nties. Without a word, he lifted me up and took me into the bedroom. I rolled to my stomach and he got to work, using the sweet scented oil over my backside.

“My mom made this. Well she didn’t make this exact one but it is her remedy of a m@$$age.”

“What’s in it?” I asked. He loved talking about his mother and I wanted him to feel comfortable to bring her up whenever he liked.

” Rosemary, aloe, Castro oil, Peppermint and eucalyptus oil. And of course, her favorite, Rose petals for fragrance.”

“It smells so lovely.”

“I wish she was still here. I miss her. She would have love you so much if she was here.”

I turned to him, p-ulling myself upwards and ki-ssed him. I gave him a m@$$age.

__________

The following morning, as early as the birds, loud knocking woke us. I covered myself in my robe as Sebastian got his clothes off the floor. I went for the door and the King burst in.

“Why am I not surprised, Sebastian? Breaking the rules is your strong suit! Get yourself fully cleaned up and dress! The Queen of England is coming today for your wedding.. tomorrow!”

He left.

Oh dear lord, not again.

Emily’s POV

“I can’t believe the Queen is coming tomorrow,” Sebastian stated as he ran his hand down his face.

“What does she have to do with anything?” I asked him and he looked at me as if I had asked him the world’s dumbest question.

“We’re still governed by her laws so basically, she has everything to do with everything,” he answered in a technical way and I picked up on it. He walked out of the room, leaving me feeling dumb.

____________

Sebastian’s POV

I walked into my bathroom and took a rather long shower. I allowed the water to run over my hair to my toes and my father’s words echoed in the back of my mind again. I had no plans on getting married again and I was not about to shake in my boots because the Queen was coming.

Turning the shower off, I got dressed and went to join the world’s most stubborn father, in the grand hall room and to my utmost surprise, the Queen was already prese-nt, sitting at the other head of the table.

I bowed to her politely before reaching out my right hand to hers.

“My pardons for not greeting you earlier, Your Majesty,” I addressed but telling her that I wasn’t aware of her prese-nce would be extremely rude and unprofessional of me.

“Prince Sebastian, how does it feel to take in your father’s footstep?” she kindly asked, unaware at the personal war between my father and me and having two women caught in the crossfire. I looked at my father and he looked back at me with narrowed eyes.

“Well Your Majesty, I’m very honored to take my place as King,” I answered. My father smiled at me but my expression remained serious.

“Your mother would be so proud. I believe I speak for everyone when I say she’s greatly miss.”

I nodded.

“King Fabian, though I’ll say that the ceremony tomorrow is rather sudden, it’s a plea-sure to be in your Palace again.”

“Thank you very much. I’m very humble to have you,” my father said back and I twisted the cap to the bottle of water in front of me and brou-ght the lid to my li-ps for a drink.

“Princess Naomi, it’s also nice to see you again. How are you feeling about the wedding?” the Queen asked Naomi next.

“Very excited, Your Highness. I love him so much,” she beamed. I slightly shook my head but with the sharp eyes of the Queen, she caught that.

“Is something wrong, Sebastian?” she asked me now, causing my father’s eyes to flare at me with rage like they were daring me to keep my mouth shut and not make a scene.

“Yes, something is very wrong. Matter of fact, a lot of things are wrong,” I aired.

“Oh?” She looked to my father and he instantly try to pla-y everything off with an awful laughter.

“I @$$ure you that nothing is wrong. My son here just enjoys blowing the smallest of things out of proposition.”

“Do I?” I asked him, “Planning a marriage behind my back TWICE, forcing me to get married to someone who I don’t love, it’s the smallest of things?”

“Sebastian, for the last time, please don’t make a scene. We have a guest and it’s the Queen. Why can’t you just un-derstand that everything I’m doing is for your own benefit.” He tried to control the rising of his voice but I knew he wanted to scream at me. That was all he had been doing lately. Screaming.

“I se-nse there’s tension, not usually my taste but as the person with the approval of royal weddings by the Kingdoms, Naomi, I’d like to start with you, what’s wrong dear?” the queen asked her.

“You see Your Highness, I’m trying my all to show Prince Sebastian how much I love him and care about him but he wouldn’t allow it. Since my prese-nce, we’ve been on one date, only one. His father wants him to get marry to me, I want that as well but he wouldn’t. He doesn’t want to merge my country with his.”

I chuckled lightly.

“Sebastian, your turn.”

“Thank You, Your Majesty. She’s right. I don’t want to get married to her but she’s wrong about the reason why I don’t want to. I love someone else. I’m in love with someone else. I know how this bond with marriage is important to the Kingdoms but I can’t go against my heart and my happiness for a merger.

Naomi, you seem like a nice person. I tried to love you, I really did but there’s no connection, no spark, nothing. You should be with someone who loves you back. You deserve that.”

“Dad, I love you. You know that I do but we can’t continue down this path. I can pledge for Scots but I cannot married the Princess. I nee-d you to un-derstand me. Please just un-derstand me. Emily means a lot to me. I love her, dad,” I pleaded to my father.

My father nodded.

Is he agreeing with me?

“Okay son,” his voice came and I burst into happy tears. You’ll have no idea how much those two simple words meant to me.

__________

Princess Naomi’s POV

I looked at Fabian as if he had two heads. Agreeing with Sebastian was not apa-rt of the plan. After the meeting and the Queen had retired to her guest bedroom, I went to find the King in his office.

“What was that in there, you’re agreeing to let Sebastian not marry me? Have you forgotten about my father?”

“Naomi, I love you like my own daughter. Your father and I had been the best of friends. I guess I felt like I owed him and having you marry my son was a debt being repaid but Sebastian is his own person. He doesn’t want to marry you and I’ve for-ced him enough. I don’t want to lose my only son like how I lost his mother.”

“THIS IS UNFAIR! You can’t do this to me.”

“Naomi, it’s over! The wedding, the plots of killing Emily, it’s all over. What kind of man plots to kill a pregnant woman because she’s in love with their son?”

He had melted. He had melted to favor Emily instead of me but you know what they say: ‘If you want something done right, then do it yourself.’

I’ll just have to get rid of Emily by myself, and then when Sebastian has no one to love, he’ll have to settle for marrying me.
