Chapter twenty-eight

“Hey good morning! Won’t you go to school? You are running late Harley.”, Granny said slightly tapping her and she slowly opened her eyes.
She looked around puzzled, something was different and she just couldn’t un-derstand her environment.
“Did I have a dream of something I can’t remember?”, She questioned herself.
“You don’t plan on missing the way and running all the way to school right?”, Granny said and Harley jumped off the bed seeing the time.
Harley quickly rushed to school and her friends went her at the gate.
“Hey you are early today, that’s a surprise.”, One said.
“Hey your ne-cklace is nice, where did you get this?”, The other one with a long hair asked.
“Who else, if not Brian? Wow he is so romantic, I wish I have a boyfriend like him.”, The first one said.
“Didn’t we break up already? Or are we till dating?”, Harley asked preplexed.
She just can’t un-derstand what was going on, she looked at the ne-cklace and wondered how it got to her.
“What? You and Brian? What would possibly lead to your break-up? Everyone knows how much you like Brian.”
“Are you guys having issues? You know — you don’t always have to break up before you resolve it.”, They said.
“Isn’t something wrong? Why does it feel like I have been away and yet my friends aren’t acting like they are seeing me after a long time.”
“Maybe I really had a long dream of going somewhere.”, She concluded and they headed to cla-ss.

Harley was leaving to the library when she met a new face on her way.
“He must be a new student.”, she thought.
“Excuse me!”, She said as she walked pa-ss him but he held her hand and she felt something different.
She quickly je-rked her hands away and looked at him in a puzzled way.
“Hailey!”, He called and she looked at him more puzzled.
“It’s Harley, how did you even know my name? Are you a stalker? Didn’t you just transfer into this school and you are already fooling around?”, She said and he hug-ged her.
And again, she felt something different like a … Spark or something.
“What are you doing? I have a boyfriend, so I will advice you to let me go now.”, She said struggling to pull out of the hug but he wasn’t ready to pull out.
“Hailey …”
“I am not Hailey, it’s Harley.”, She said.
“Hey let’s go of my girlfriend!”, Brian appeared and quickly punched the guy on his face.
“You are a new student here and you are already messing around with my girlfriend, stay off her lane and you will survive in this school.”, Brian said and pulled Harley along.
Cyrus changed himself back to his normal self.
“She really doesn’t remember anything.”, He said and sighed.
After sometime, he teleported out.

Cyrus changed himself to another different person again.
“What should I say to him? Should I ….!”, He was still deciding when the door opened.
“Are you here to see my brother?”, The little asked and Cyrus nodded and she urged him to enter.
“You are handsome.”, She said and Cyrus tried not to look shocked.
“Really? No one ever told me that.”, He said and she shrugged.
“Maybe you were ugly before.”, She said and Cyrus’ eyes wide-ned.
Did she just insult me or was that a compliment?
“Alex someone is here to see you.”, She said shouting.
“You don’t have to shout, I am coming.”, He shouted back.
“Alex?”, He called seeing Alex so well and healthy.
He managed not to let the tear in his eyes drop.
“Son! You are Alex’s friend, aren’t you?”, His mom asked and Cyrus nodded.
“We are friends?”, Alex asked thinking.
“Alex has never have a handsome friend, he has always moved with ugly people since they are his kind.”, The girl said and Alex hit her head and Cyrus chuckled.
“So are you calling me ugly?”, He asked and she shrugged.
“Mom alex is bullying me again, I didn’t even call him ugly.”, She said as she faked tears.
“Son I have never seen you here before, do you live near?”, Alex’s mom asked facing Cyrus.
“Hmm… I’m actually one of his old cla-ssmates, I just wanted to see him.”, He lied.
“Oh that’s probably why I can’t recognize you, thank you for coming to check up on me.”, Alex said with a smile.
“This is the first time I am seeing him smile like this.”, Cyrus said inwardly.
“I have to go now.”, He said standing up.
“Alex your face makes him uncomfortable, you should try to become less ugly.”, The girl said and Alex glared at her and Cyrus chuckled at their little fight.
“Son stay a bit, you can have breakfast with us. You don’t have to feel uncomfortable with us, since you are my son’s friend, you are also my son.”, Alex’s mom said and Cyrus became at ease.
The son that she was calling him was making him very happy.
“Just stay please…”, The girl pouted.
“You don’t have to be shy dude, eat with us.”, Alex said as he hit his shoulder and Cyrus eyes wide-ned at his gut.
“Dude? Did he just disrespect me by touching my shoulder? You are definitely serving punishment when you recover your memory.”, he thought.
“Alex don’t touch him, who knows, he might suddenly become ugly like you.”, She said and Alex just chased her around.
“Don’t mind them, they are like that. Come and sit.”, Alex’s mom said and Cyrus followed her.

“Lord Cyrus, did you see the both of them? Are they doing fine?”, Emily, ru-by and Liam asked curiously.
“They are well, you don’t have to worry. We have to stop talking about them, they are not coming back here.”, He said and went to his room.
“There is no use worrying about them, they won’t remember me anyway, it’s better I stop seeing them.”

Harley woke up all sweaty, this was the third time, she was having a nightmare of some academy and a particular guy.
She wondered what was happening and who the guy was.
The ne-cklace on her ne-ck was on his ne-ck but later, it disappeared from his ne-ck.
“Could it be that he gave me this ne-cklace?”
“But who is he to be and why do I have the ne-cklace?”
“You will be late for school.”, Granny said and she stood up.

“Why do you look so pale?”, Harley’s friend with short hair asked.
“You haven’t been looking fine since yesterday.”, The long haired added.
“Do you know any academy called shang chi?”, She asked.
“Wait why? It is the supernaturals, those with superpowers.”, They replied.
“Then why I am dreaming of that place? Why does it look like I am connected to that place? What is happening to me?”, Harley asked ruffling her hair.
“You don’t superpower or do you?”
“Of course I don’t, I don’t know why I keep thinking of that place. Give me the address of the place.”, She asked.
“You plan on going there? You won’t be allowed to enter if you are not their kind.”
“I have to find out something.”, She replied.

Harley collected the address from her friends and after school, she found herself on the way to the academy.
From the gate, she knew how ti-ght the security would be then she decided to go throu-ghthe fence.
She sneaked into the place as if she has lived here.
She found herself going to the hall and everyone’s eyes landed on her.
She looked around confused, why were they looking at her like that.
“Harley!”, ru-by called as she ran towards us, then Emily and Liam joined.
“Do you remember now?”, They asked but she remained mute.
“She won’t remember anything, don’t waste your time and get back to training. Ryder see her off.”, Cyrus said and left but that was when Harley set her on him and slowly everything started coming back.
She started remembering everything from her first day here at shang chi academy till the last day when she was poisoned.
“I remember.”, She whispered but Emily heard.
“Do you remember? What are our names?”, She asked.
“Emily … ru-by and Liam.”, She replied.
“What is my power?”, ru-by asked happily.
“You read memories.”, She replied and they hug-ged her ti-ghtly.
“What about me?”, Liam asked.
“You can communicate to Ghosts.”, She replied.
“How is this possible?”, The superiors asked themselves.
“Why did I lose my memory? How come I am okay? I don’t feel my powers anymore, why did I leave the academy?”, Harley kept on throwing questions at them with tears in her eyes.
“I think lord Cyrus is the best person to answer this question, he is in his room.”
Harley again went throu-ghthe window which scared Cyrus.
“What are you doing here? You are not supposed to be here.”, He yelled.
“I remember everything.”, She said in tears.
“That is not what I am asking you … Wait what? You can remember everything but how come?”, He asked as he went to touch her hand to see if he was dreaming.
“I don’t know — I just set my eyes on you and I started remembering everything.”, She said.
“What happened to me Cyrus? What happened? Was I not sick? What about to me? Why did I leave this academy?”, She asked with tears in her eyes.
“Hailey I missed you so much, I was scared that you will totally forget about me.”, He said as tears rolled down his eyes. He just couldn’t control the emotions he was feeling.
“Hailey? You were the only one who calls me that but one of my school mate called me Hailey.”, She stated.
“It was me.”, He replied and she was about to say something but he just shut her with a kis-s.
“How come you remember everything? You are not supposed to remember.”, He said.
“You want me to forget about all our memories and everything that happened?”
“It’s not that — it is a long story.”, He replied.
“How have you been? Where is Alex?”, She asked but he didn’t say a word.
She gasped immediately.
“Don’t tell me that he …. He didn’t survive it — If only he didn’t use all of his strength to heal me, he also got tortured all because he wanted to save me, he tried to get me out and because he kept your body. I didn’t expect him not to survive it, he was really good to me.”, She said as she teared up.
Cyrus couldn’t help but to chuckle. His dramatic girlfriend is back.
“Alex is alive, he isn’t dead.”, He said and she gasped then replaced it with a frown.
“You should have told me first, I thought he was dead.”, She said with a big frown.
“You didn’t ask if he was dead or not, you just concluded.”, He replied and she rolled her eyes.
“Where is he then? Isn’t he here?”
“He is with his family and just like you, he doesn’t remember me or this academy. He is the one my godmothers hate so much, I doubt if he will recover his memories.”, Cyrus said sadly.
“Lord Cyrus Alex is in the hall.”, Ryder said and both Cyrus and Harley rushed out.
“Alex.”, Harley couldn’t hide her excited when she quickly rushed to hug him.
Cyrus looked at him curiously and hoped he would really remember.
He wants Alex back into his life.
Alex looked around confused and his eyes settled on Cyrus.
“What are you people doing to me? I don’t know how I got here, I was on my way to get a job.”, He said and everyone’s excitement disappeared especially Cyrus, Harley and Emily.
