Chapter twenty-four

Cyrus had refused to be taken to the clinic, so he was taken to his room and they cleaned his wounds and managed to stop the bleeding but he was still poisoned and there was nothing they could do.
There was no way they could stop the poison was spreading into his system.
His face were pale already, he could ba-rely move his body. He just laid on the bed helplessly.
Everyone could tell that he was becoming very weak, the academy was slowly loosing it’s protection.
Everyone was scared but leaving the academy only means walking into ones death.
“Cyrus please don’t die, I will go and look for the antidote.”, Harley said as she wiped her tears.
“Magnus isn’t stupid… Am very sure that this poison doesn’t have any cure, I can’t hold it anymore.”, he said and Harley cried uncontrollably.
“This is my fault, I couldn’t save you. I am just useless.”, She said as she held his hand.
“Don’t blame yourself for anything Hailey, everything happens for a reason.”, He said.
“Your — your hand is cold you look very pale, are you really going to leave me alone? Please just fight for us… Everyone wants you to survive.”, She said.
“That’s because they need protection, they need me, it’s not because they care. I really can’t do that for them anymore.”, He said.
“Then what about me? Are you going to leave me? Don’t I care about you? What’s going to happen to you?”
“Hailey you have to be safe, Magnus will do anything to destroy you, you have to run far away from here please. I’m not that powerful immortal anymore, all I am waiting for now is death.”, He said.
“I won’t leave you alone, I will stay here with you.”, She said stubbornly.
“I am sleepy.”, He said trying ha-rd to keep his eyes opened.
“Please don’t sleep Cyrus, once you close your eyes, you will never wake up again. Please don’t close your eyes.”, She pleaded and he opened his eyes widely.
“I love you Hailey, always remember that.”, He said as he fought her ha-rd to keep his eyes opened.
“I love you too Cyrus but please try not to close your eyes, please stay awake.”, She pleaded shaking and he wide-ned his eyes again.
“I am trying ha-rd but I can’t hold it anymore, Hailey let’s break up, so that you will look for another boyfriend or you can go back to your ex-boyfriend, you can just pretend that you never met me.”
“Are you really breaking up with me now? What are you even talking about? Aren’t you an immortal, you can’t die.”, She cried.
“If you don’t leave the academy, I swear I will never forgive you.”, He said.
“I was given this for protection, you can wear it on your ne-cklace, it will protect you whenever you are in danger. I am the only one who can wear it but since we are bonded together, it can’t harm you.”, He said and handed the ne-cklace to her.”
“Please don’t do this to me.”, She said as he slowly closed his eyes.
“Cyrus I told you not to sleep, please open your eyes.”, She said shaking him but there was no response.
He wasn’t breathing either, he just stayed one my sp-ot.
Harley rushed out to call the other superiors.

“I heard that lord Cyrus is dead.”, Someone said.
“What! Isn’t he an immortal?”
“Gosh what’s going to happen to now? What are we going to do?”
“Is Magnus only to kill us now?”
“We have to leave everyone, we are no longer safe here. Cyrus had ordered us to leave.”, One of the superior said.
“What? How can we leave him here? He needs us now, we can’t leave him here and run like cowards.”, Harley said.
“I un-derstand what you are saying young lady but he is dead and we can’t take him along, he is bonded to this place.”, Another said.
“He might still be dead, don’t just a-ssume that he is dead. We can’t leave Cyrus all alone here, he needs us.”, She said.
“But we can’t stay here either, it is not safe for us.”, One of the students said and everyone agreed.
“He was right, you all just needed protection. I am not leaving this place, y’all just leave without me.”, Hailey said stubbornly as she turned back to go to Cyrus room but s voice stopped her.
“Is your hero dead now? Are you all willing to die now?”, Magnus said with an evil grin as he looked around.
“You ba*tard! How dare you?!!”, Harley shouted angrily but she was nothing compared to Magnus.
Magnus just swung her around and held her two hands in just one hand.
She stepped on his leg angrily and he groa-ned in pain as he released her.
“You are a monster, I hate you so much.”, She said as she slapped him.
“How dare you hit me huh!? Do you think I will let this slide? I know how to perfectly punish you for this…. I will make sure I Fu-ck you brutally that your dead lover will hear your cries.”, He said and she slapped him again.
“I am not afraid of you, monster!”, She said and Magnus hit her across the face, making her face on the ground.
“I wonder what is giving you so much courage, let’s see how it goes for you.”, He said as he pulled her by her hair out of the academy.
“Let go of me, you beast!”, She cried in pain.
“Let’s see if you will still have this courage after I have tasted you, you know — I am really curious about how you taste on bed.”, He said as he dragged her nonchalantly.
Other students just looked sadly, it pained them that they couldn’t do anything.
Even the superiors, they power put together can’t destroy Magnus.
They just realized that they were all wrong about Cyrus, he might have done some terrible things but he wasn’t a monster like Magnus and they just realized that they just lost an important treasure.
“Capture all of them and if anyone is stubborn, kill the person.”, He ordered and his guards went into actions immediately.
“Look for Cyrus dead body and bury it before today ends.”, He ordered as he left dragging Harley on the floor by her hair.

The guards went into Cyrus room to carry him to bury him but Alex stopped them by standing in her front.
“I will take care of him.”, He said but they didn’t want to listen.
“The boss asked us to take care of him, we don’t want to get into trouble with the boss.”, They said and walked pa-ss Alex.
Alex was about to pick up a fight but as soon as they tou-ched Cyrus, a great for-ce sent them back making them break their bone as they hit the wall so hard.
“Cyrus is alive”, Alex said happily.
“Why can’t we touch him, isn’t he dead?”, One asked.
“I think we have to tell the boss about this.”, Another said and Alex was fast to tell them.
“Are you crazy? If you tell the boss that you failed to do whatever he asked you to do, you are definitely going to die, he is definitely going to kill you and your family.”, Alex said.
“You are just trying to confuse us.”, One said.
“You think so? Magnus threatened to kill my family and lover all because I didn’t do what he asked me to do, he doesn’t care about anyone but himself.”, Alex said and he said that they were giving what he said another thought.
“So what do you want us to do?”
“Just tell the boss that you gave buried him, just leave his body to me, I know how to dispose it.”, He said and they nodded and left and Alex sighed in relief.
He looked at Cyrus and tears gathered in his eyes, Cyrus looked so pale and cold, he wasn’t even moving.
Alex walked towards him slowly and stretched his hand to touch him.
He tou-ched him and nothing happened to him, nothing pushed him.
“I’m so sorry lord Cyrus, you treated me like a brother but what did I do? I only thought of myself but believe me, I had no idea that Magnus was planning to touch the students.”
“I know that it’s too late to ask for forgiveness because you will never even want to set your eyes on me but I promise and swear that I will do anything to protect them and protect your body. I love you so much.”, He said and a tear dropped from Cyrus’ eyes.
“You are not dead, please just hold on for us and return back, I won’t allow Magnus to touch and harm your body.”, He said and carried Cyrus on his back.
He also carried his sword and he left to academy to his family house.
He didn’t know where else to keep Cyrus that he would be save except to his family.
He had warned his family that they shouldn’t let anyone know that he was there and they should take care if his body.

Everyone was locked into cells and Harley was taken to Magnus’ room.
“Take off your clothes.”, He ordered but Harley only spat on his face and it angered him.
“How dare you!”, He said and slapped her making her lose her balance.
“Do you think I am joking with you?”, He said as his hand went to the zi-p of his trouser.
Harley hit him on his ball and he groa-ned in pain but Magnus was fast to pull her back before she could escape.
He hit her head on the wall making her bleed.
He to-re her clothes angrily and Harley tried to remove his hand hit she already lost her strength and he took off his trouser.
Harley just burst into tears, scared. She already decided that if Magnus have his way with her, she would commit suicide and join Cyrus.
He threw her on his bed aggressively and just as he was about to rip off her trouser, the ne-cklace that Cyrus went white and it made Magnus to fly in air till he finally hit his head on the wall.
Alex quickly rushed into the room, when he returned he was informed that Magnus took Harley to his room.
“Harley are you okay? Did he touch you?”, He asked and she shook her head and quickly hug-ged him.
“I’m sorry, this is my fault.”, He said as he hug-ged her ti-ghtly.
“You have to leave this place now, this is your chance.”, He said as he took off his shirt for her to wear since hers was rigged off.
He lifted her up and they quickly left the room, leaving Magnus who was trying to recover on the floor.
“Alex what of the rest? I can’t leave them, what will happen to you?”, She asked.
“Nothing will happen to them.”, He said as Harley held unto him.
“What of you? Magnus knows you are betraying him now.”, She said.
“Just worry about yourself.”, He said as they continued running.
“What are you doing alex?”, Magnus men said as they walked towards them.
“Hand over the girl or consider yourself died.”, They threatened and he covered Harley.
“Then I would rather die, you have to kill me before you can take her from me.”, He said and they moved towards them.
Alex brou-ght out his sword to fight and ember appeared in their front.
“I still hate you Alex and I hate you more Harley but Magnus betrayed me and I will betray him too.”, Ember said and turned back to Magnus men ready to fight.
“You can go, I will take care of them.”, She said.
“Thank you.”, Alex said as he dragged Harley away.
When they finally got to the gate, more men surrounded them but Alex wasn’t ready to let of Harley …. He wasn’t ready to release her… Never.
He killed some and Harley managed to fight some off too.
“You should leave now, I will take care if the other people.”, He said and Harley nodded.
Just as Harley was about to leave the gate, Alex was hit and he fell to the ground.
“Alex.”, Harley shouted as he ran towards him.
Alex looked at her frustrated, why is she coming back?
“Just go.”, He said but she didn’t listen, she just ran towards him and immediately men grabbed the both of them.
“You betrayal!”, Magnus said as he hit Alex on his tummy making him spit out blood.
“Cyrus isn’t dead! Only Cyrus wears that thing and if Harley can wear that and it still has effect then Cyrus isn’t dead, if he is really dead, the bond they have would have been broken and the ne-cklace won’t have any effect on me.”, He said as he turned to the guards that he asked to bury Cyrus.
“Boss we are sorry for lying, Alex told us that he was going to take care of him, do we left him.”, They said on their knees and Magnus looked at alex angrily.
“Cyrus is alive?”, Harley thought and she finally became hopeful.
“Where is Cyrus?”, He asked.
“I don’t know what you are talking about.”, He denied.
“I see you won’t talk, bring him to the torture room and lock the girl back into the dark cell.”, He instructed.
