Chapter nineteen

Cyrus placed his hands on her wai-st as they were both lost in the kis-s.
“Oh!”, She m-oaned as tried supporting herself by placing her hand on his table.
She found her hands unbu-ttoning his shirt and he was quick to stop her.
“Not now.”, He said as he moved away from her and entered his bathroom.
“Was I too fast and straight forward?”, she thought.
“Is he mad at me?”, she wondered.
“How does he suddenly change his mood?”
“What was I thinking?”, she said as she scattered her hair quite embarra-ssed.
“What are you doing?”, He asked looking at her puzzled when he caught her hitting the pillow like a psychopath.
“I am exercising.”, She said hitting the pillow slightly.
“Boxing is my hobby.”, She added seeing that he wasn’t ready to believe her.
“Really? I like girls that likes boxing.”, He said and a smile spread on her face.
“Then we are perfect for each other.”, She said as she tucked her hair behind her ears.
“But I likes girl who don’t box more.”, He said and the smile disappeared from her face.
“Well I don’t really like boxing like that.”, She said and he chuckled.
“Do you like me that much?”, He asked and she nodded.
“I’m not mad at you, we just can’t do it yet.”, He said and she wondered if he heard her thought.
“Ok.”, She replied.
“Won’t you ask why?”
“I don’t want to ask too many questions, I don’t want to make you feel uncomfortable.”, She replied.
“So what’s your answer?”, He asked.
“I still need more time.”, She said and Cyrus was about to say something when he heard a knock.
Harley quickly hid inside his wardrobe.
“What is it?”, Cyrus asked and the guard entered.
“The other superiors wants to see you now.”, He said.
“Tell them I’m busy.”, Cyrus said with a big frown.
“Lord Cyrus it is urgent.”, He said and Cyrus just sighed.
Just as they were about to leave, they both heard a sound from the wardrobe.
The guard without wasting brou-ght out his sword and head towards that place.
Cyrus was about to stop him, when he quickly opened the wardrobe and Harley came into view.
His eyes wide-ned at the sight of Harley and he looked at Cyrus.
“Forget what you just saw.”, He said and the guard just fell on the floor.
“I’m unable to breath in here.”, She complained and he chuckled.
“Can’t you just endure for a few minutes?”
“What’s going to happen to him?”, She asked.
“He’s going to wake up few minutes from now.”, He replied.
“I hope this helps you to calm down.”, He said as he kis-sed her de-eperly.
After they broke it, he closed the wardrobe and the guards woke up.
“Lord …. Cyrus what happened?”, He asked and Cyrus scoffed.
“Am I to answer that your st*pid question? You came to call me and you just collap-sed, didn’t you have any sleep?”, Cyrus said and the guard bowed.
“I’m sorry lord Cyrus.”, He apologized but he just ignored him and walked towards the door.

“Just make sure you don’t burst, you have been smiling since.”, Emily said as Harley stood in front of the mirror.
She has been looking at herself for the umpteenth time, she just wanted to look okay to Cyrus.
“ru-by thanks for the make up.”, She said.
“Just make sure you do what we advised you.”, ru-by said.
“Don’t be too nervous.”, Emily added.
Harley managed to sneak out of the dorm and she met Cyrus.
“Why did you dress this much? You look ugly.”, He said bluntly and Harley couldn’t believe her ears.
“I like your natural face.”, He added.
“Thanks for the compliment.”, She said with a for-ced smile.
“You are welcome.”, He said and she gritted her teeth.
“Where is the car?”, She asked looking away.
“Why do we need a car when I can just teleport?”, He asked and she looked at him in disbelief.
“Is this your first date?”, She asked and he nodded.
“We can’t just appear in a place and disappear, we have to make it more romantic.”, She explained.
“But we will surely get caught if we use car.”, He said.
“We won’t, we just have to be careful.”, She replied.
“Let’s go and get the car then.”, He said.

Cyrus managed to drive to some point without getting noticed until they head towards the gate.
“Hey! Stop that car!”, Someone shouted from outside but Cyrus just increa-sed his speed.
“We have to go fast.”, Harley said excited.
“Secure the gate, someone is leaving the academy without permission!!!”
Cyrus head towards the big gate and it was closed. Many armed men stood in front with their gun pointing at the car.
“Gosh we are going to get caught.”, Harley said regretting the fact that she had suggested taking car.
Thank God the car was tinted, they weren’t able to see throu-ghthe car.
“Come out now before we take action!!!”
“This is all your fault, just stay in the car and don’t make any sound.”, Cyrus said and got out of the car.
“L—lord cyrus?”, They all called in shock.
“We are sorry, we didn’t know you were the one.”, The leader said and bowed.
“Yeah you should we. Anyways you guys are really doing your job well.”, He said.
“Thank you lord Cyrus… We really feel so honoured for complimenting us.”
“So where are you heading to this night?”, He asked.
“I have something to do.”, Cyrus replied.
“Is it another Mission?”, He asked and Cyrus just stared at him without saying nothing.
“Or is it something personal?”, The boy asked nervously seeing the way Cyrus stared at him.
“Am I being interrogated right now? Do I need to explain myself to you? Or do I need to also ask for permission?”, Cyrus asked with a cold voice and the boy un-derstood that he needed to mind his business.
“I’m sorry about the questions and we are sorry for disturbing you. You can leave now but I just want to tell you how much I respect and admire you.”, He said and Cyrus raised his brows.
“Well you are doing a great job too.”, Cyrus said patting his shoulder.
The security head wouldn’t believe that the great lord Cyrus just complimented him and even tou-ched him.
“Open the gate now!!!”, He shouted with happiness and Cyrus smi-rked.
“I’m sorry for any inconveniences.”, He apologized.
“Yeah!”, Cyrus said and entered the car and sped off.
“Woah!!! You are so cool.”, Harley said.
“Of course, that’s part of my talent.”, He said boasting.

Chapter twenty

“We can’t be out of the academy for long, I don’t feel comfortable leaving it.”, He said and she nodded.
Harley gave directions and they got to the amusement park.
Harley looked around and tears filled her eyes, the memories she spent with her parents came flashing back.
“Are you okay?”, He asked noticing her change in Expression.
“Yes let’s go.”, She said and they came out of the car.

“Let’s try this.”, She said excitedly and this time around Cyrus was already frustrated.
He was into these types of things and we was being for-ced to do it.
He even wondered how she was happy fun cos it making him sick.
They kept playing different games and challenge until Harley got tired.
“Let’s buy ice-cream.”, She said dragging Cyrus there.
“Pay for it.”, She said.
“I don’t have any more money left, I didn’t bring much.”, He whispered to her.
“What? Who comes to a date without much money?”, She whispered back.
“I didn’t know that you would spend this much.”, He whispered back.
“Mister look there.”, Harley said to the man and he looked at the direction she was pointing at.
“Run.”, She said and they both ran away.
“Thief!!!”, They heard the man screaming behind them and that made them burst into laughter as they ran off.
This was her first time seeing Cyrus laugh so hard.
“Let’s go back now, it’s getting late.”, He said as they got to the car.
“Thank you for agreeing to come with me.”, She said.
“So are we dating now? I don’t want you calling your ex, your boyfriend.”, He said and she nodded.
“Yes.”, She answered and he hug-ged her happily.
“I am your boyfriend now.”, He said and she chuckled.

As they were heading back, Harley asked him to stop.
She liked the view of the beach from afar.
“Are you okay?”, He asked her again and this time she couldn’t control her tears.
“I miss my parents so much — I wish they didn’t die — I wish I was able to save them.”, She said as tears rolled down.
“My superpower is just useless if I can’t use it well, I couldn’t even do anything to save them.”, She said.
“The amusement park reminded me about them so much and I miss them very much.”, She said sniffing.
“You are blaming yourself for nothing— it wasn’t as if they died because of you, I’m sure you tried your best.”, He said and she somehow felt better.
“Don’t you miss your parents?”, She asked and his face become cold.
“I don’t have any parents, let’s head back… It’s late.”, He said as he headed towards the car.
“I’m sorry for bringing it up.”, She apologized but he said nothing.
“It’s late, you should go back to your room.”, He said and didn’t even wait for her reply before walking away.
Harley just sighed, did she make a mistake by asking him about his parents?
“I wonder when he will trust me to tell me about his past.”, She said.
As she walked back to her dorm, she saw someone wearing a hoodie walking suspiciously.
“Hey who are you?”, She asked and the person turned.
“Alex?”
“Where are you coming from?”, She asked and he just scratched his head.
“I left the academy to see my parents.”, He replied and she just found it odd.
“But if you had taken permission, you would have been allowed and besides you are the closest to Cyrus.”, She said.
“I learnt that my mom was sick and I wanted to heal her, taking permission from lord Cyrus will only take time and he wouldn’t want me to go alone because it is dangerous.”, He said.
“Promise me that you won’t tell him that you saw me.”, He said and somehow Harley didn’t want to make sure promise.
“Ok I won’t but it is better you inform him next time.”, She said.
“What about you?”, He asked.
Harley thought if telling him that she went on a date with lord Cyrus but she just changed her mind.
“I just wanted to sneak of the academy for once, I wanted to go partying but I changed my mind remembering how those girls ended up when they were caught by Magnus.”, She lied and Alex seem to buy the lie.
“You shouldn’t leave also, Magnus is on your ne-ck, you shouldn’t just leave anyhow.”, He said and she nodded.
“I will get going on.”, She said and he nodded.
“That was close.” He said sighed.
“Can Alex be the spy? But he can’t betray Cyrus right? What if he really is betraying him?”, Harley wondered as she went towards her room.

Alex paced around his room worried. He knew he was doing the wrong thing by betraying Cyrus but he has no choice.
All those times, he wanted to protect cyrus, he was being sincere but now Magnus is forcing him to poison him since he’s the only one closer to him.
Alex has a been a spy from the beginning, he came into the academy because Magnus asked him to but after getting to know Cyrus, he started thinking twice.
He looked at poisonous pill that Magnus had given him and sighed.
Magnus had carefully planned this.
Alex had informed him that Cyrus had created a bond with Harley and so he asked him to make sure Cyrus doesn’t kill her.
Everything was Magnus plan, he has ember to join to get her out of the way of their love.
Alex isn’t a demon, he wasn’t given any demonic power or else he would be easily caught, he is just working for Magnus.
When Alex noticed that Cyrus shared out of Harley’s pain, he didn’t want to tell Magnus but Magnus will surely know if he is hiding something.
“I’m sorry lord Cyrus — I really am, I am no different from the people who caused you so much pain but I just want to protect my family from Magnus.”, He thought as he stood in front of Cyrus’ room crying.
“What? Do you want to leave this academy this night? You can’t, till tomorrow.”, Cyrus said opening his door.
He was finally it ha-rd to sleep as usual but then he suspected someone to be Infront of his door and he was right.
“I — just just miss my family.”, He shuttered.
“Stop behaving like a child, I am not in the mood for conversations.”, He said and closed the door.
“I am sorry lord Cyrus, I really hope you forgive me.”
