Chapter 15:
‘ This is impossible, ’ he wondered. ‘ How? ’
It should be a relief to his hearing but… it wasn’t. ‘ How is that possible? ’ he asked thoughtfully.
” You are free to see her, ” said the doctor.
Aunty Tracy noticed his expression from the doctor’s office. He looked shocked than she is.
She was wondering why the news wasn’t a relief to him as it was to her. Besides, he was the most concerned one yesterday, why is she the most excited one now?
” Kel, ” she called as they got to the door. ” You don’t look happy, why? ”
” I am happy as well as surprised too. It’s a miracle, nothing like this has ever happened before. ”
” Okay. I’ll go get something to eat. ” She said leaving to one of the sto-res in town.
He entered. He saw her f!ngersmade moves and her eyelids blink twice.
He rushed to her, holding the hand that had moved.
” Diana, ” he called.
She finally blinked her eyes open after the fourth time he had called her name.
Her eyes opened, showing a dark purple colour as she g@sped, exhaling slowly.
She blinked and the purple colour disappeared. Shocked at what just happened, he loos£ned his grip on her.
Staring around her environment, her gaze met him. It took her time to recognize his face.
She m0@n ed as she tried sitting up, but he held her back on the held. ” Don’t bother sitting. ”
” Uncle Kelvin? ” She called weakly, recognizing his voice.
” How are you feeling? ”
” Not okay, my head hurts. ”
” You do remember, right? ” He asked,
” I remember everything. What did the doctors say? ”
” Nothing much, just a slight br@in damage which seems to have healed alre-ady. ”
She gro-an ed painfully, sighing. ” Are you alright? ” He asked worried.
She nodded a weak ‘ yes ’ at him. ” I’m fine, just the headache. How is aunty Tracy and the others? ”
” They are all fine. Tracy went to buy something we’ll eat, she’ll be here soon. ”
She nodded again.
” I’m sorry Diana. ” c@m£ the soft words out of his mouth.
She wondered why he might have said that. He has always been a good man to her, why would he be apologizing to her?
” For what? ”
” It’s all my fault you got hurt… ”
” Uncle… ”
” You’ve been throu-gh a lot since you were little, I thought I would be a good uncle by bringing you over to the state but yet, I haven’t. ”
” Uncle kel, you’ve done more than enough for me and I am okay with that. You don’t have to give me the whole world just to prove how good you’ve been to me. St©p blaming yourself for my condition, it’s no one’s fault neither is it yours. You don’t have to be sorry for what keeps happening to me, it all has nothing to do with you. ”
The door opened and aunty Tracy walked in. ” Oh my, Diana you’re awake alre-ady. ” She screamed excitedly, as she went to give her a hvg.
” How are you feeling? ”
” Just a little headache, that’s all. ”
” I un-derstand, such a condition is really not funny. I’m so happy you’re awake. ” She grinned.
” Thanks guys for checking on me this few days, I know it’s really not that easy but… thank you. ”
” Oh, ” she beat her hand on the air, ” it’s nothing. Come on, I bought us something to eat. Guess you might be starving. ”
” Of course, I am. ”

Diana has spent more extra two days at the hospital, uncle Kelvin on the other side has talked with the doctor in charge of Diana’s case to discharge her as she was alre-ady getting better.
Aunty Tracy was ma-king Diana’s favorite dish as they were expecting her back home that day.
Uncle Kelvin has dressed up about to go when Queen rushed to him. ” Dad, can I follow you? ” She asked.
” No, kitten, you stay back with your mother. ”
” Dad, ” she folded her fist by her both sides, ” but you promised me that I will follow you. ”
” Not all promises are being fulfilled, sweetheart. Why don’t you wait patiently until we return? ”
” But I want to go to the hospital with you. ” She insisted.
” Well, I say no. ” He refused.
” Come on, babe, let her go. You promised her alre-ady, it’s unfair to break it now. ”
” Pretty plea-se, ” she begged with her palms together.
” Fine, let’s go. ” He rolled his eyes, moving ahead of her. ” Where did they brou-ght you from. ” He muttered to himself but little Queen could hear it.
” From mom’s wo-mb, remember. ”
” Hey, I wasn’t talking t… ” He pointed at her.
” Come on, dad, Diana will be waiting for us. ” She ran to the pas-s£nger side, hopping in.
” I can’t believe you, ” he said as he entered the car.
” What? ” She asked, staring wi-dely at him.
” Nothing. ”
She bur-sted out laughing, holding her stomach. ” You can’t believe me because I’m following you to the hospital. But trust me dad, I’ll try not to be a pain in the as-s. I promise. ”
He started the car, zooming out of his compound to the hospital.
Queen was holding his hand as the quietly head to ward 349.
” Dad, aren’t we getting any closer yet? ” She asked, tired.
” Trust me, we are almost close. ” He as-sured her.
They finally got to room 349. Queen loos£ned her hand from her father’s hold, pushing the door open as she rushed to hvg Diana.
” Queen, take it easy. ” Her father warned.
Diana sat up to embr@ce Queen as she jumped on her b©dy, ” Oh Queen, I’ve missed you so much. ”
” I’ve missed you too, aunty Diana. Does it… ” pointing at her head, ” does it still hurts? ”
” Nah, just a little. ”
” Dad almost refused I’d come along. ”
” Really? ” She looked at uncle Kelvin who looked away. ” Don’t mind uncle Kelvin, sometimes he’s really… ” She made made a guessing face, ” what will I say? ” She whispered in Queen’s hear who bur-sted out laughing.
” Yeah. Yeah, that’s right. ” She st©pped laughing, bringing her face closer to Diana’s, as if she was studying something on her face.
” What is it, Queeneth? ” She asked.
” Why is your eyes purple? ” She asked, pointing at her eyes.
” What? ” She snapped, ” How is that possible? ”
Queen laughed out loud, cl@pping her hands. ” I tricked you, aunty Diana! Did you see your face? It was almost like, mom.. I’m scared. ” She kept on laughing.
Uncle Kelvin who looked also surprised, quic-kly hid his expression as soon as Queen started laughing.
” Come on, Queen, you scared the $h!t out of me. ”

But was that really a joke?
Or was she only kidding not to have seen anything?
What if it had come and gone so quic-kly, and it will all look like a joke to her?
I won’t blame her for being such a j£rk sometimes, she’s just a kid.
” Come on, guys, mom will be waiting for us. ”
Queen whispered something into Diana’s ear, her eyes wi-de-ned in excitement.
I hope it’s not what I am thinking.
She g@sped. ” Really? ”
” Yeah. ” Queen nodded. ” So get your as-s up and let’s get going. ”
We waited for her to change to the cloth we had brou-ght for her, leaving the room as we exited the building.

Diana excused herself to the toilet, as she was heading to where Kelvin and Queen were waiting for her, someone tapped her by the shoulder.
” Excuse me, ” she flin-ched at him, ” I’m sorry to have startled you. ”
She chuckled softly, ” It’s okay. How may I help you? ”
” Are you Miss Craig? ” He asked.
” Yes, I am. Is there a problem? ” She asked back.
” No, not at all. ” He gave her a convincing smile. ” There’s someone who always comes here every night to check on you, he asked me to give you this. ” He handed her an envelope, not spending a second of his time, he left.

Chapter 16:
The night was peaceful but Diana couldn’t sleep. She has sle-pt for four days and four nights at the hospital so, sleep was no way close to her.
After an hour of staring around her room, she was pu-ll-ed to sleep by a calm wind which sneaked into her room.
She open her eyes to find herself laying on the same be-d in the same hospital she was discharged from.
She tried stepping out of the be-d but was st©pped by the string on her hand which was connected to a drip bag.
She was about to pu-ll it out when a voice st©pped her. ” Don’t, Diana. ”
The voice was strange, she has never heard such voice before. It was de-ep and she felt obe-dient to it.
She st©pped, glaring at the direction the voice had come from.
She couldn’t get a clear glimpse of who it was as he was standing in the dark.
She stretched out her hand to turn on the lamp stand. ” Don’t.. ” he warned.
” Who are you? What are you doing here? ” she asked.
” You’re injured, it nee-ds to be healed. ”
” Who the fv¢k are you? ” She questioned, not finding what he was saying interesting.
” You’ll find out soon. ”
She stretched out her hand to turn on the lamp stand but it couldn’t on. She tried it several times, yet it couldn’t.
” Don’t w@!st your time trying, it won’t on. ” He told her.
She gr@bb£d the string, ” you’re gonna hurt yourself doing that. ” He tried to explain but she didn’t want to listen.
” Why the fv¢k do you care? ” She successfully pu-ll-ed it out of her skin, pu-lling herself to her feet.
She almost fell but got supported by the be-d. She managed to get to her feet, heading to the door when he held her hand, the same one with the mark.
A sharp current flowed from his veins to hers and she quic-kly dragged her hand out from his grip. ” Who are you? Get away from me. ” She moved two steps backwards.
The light turned on without anyone tou-ching it. She g@sped in fear as she was able to get a clear view of who it was.
She moved few more steps backwards, ” I’m not gonna hurt you, ” he rose his hands in a surrendering way. ” I’m not here to hurt you. ”
” Then what are you here for? ” She asked, feeling her legs dancing in fear.
” You have what belongs to me, and I’m here to take it back. ”
” You fv¢king kidding me? I don’t know what you’re talking about. ”
” Did you open the envelope? ” He asked. She remembered dropping it un-der the lamp stand of her room without checking what was in it. ” You should have opened it. ”
” How do you know about the envelope? ”
” Because I was the one who asked him to give it to you. ” His gaze went to her wrist, ” That mark has a lot to do with me. ”
She looked at her wrist, ” I got bitten by a wolf, I don’t see how it has anything to do with you. ”
” Like I said, I don’t wanna hurt you. ”
” Then get the hell outta here or I’ll call the securities. ” She threatened.
” Why would you think I will w@!st my time coming here for nothing? Every single night I watch you sleep, Diana. I was there when no one was, I stay awake just to keep you safe. What more have I not done? ”
” You were never there for me, my uncle was. ”
He scoffed, ” Is that what he made you believe? No one c@m£ to check on you, I did. I couldn’t sleep each time I remember you are here, I wished to be with you. ”
” Don’t try to pl@yso concerned… ”
” I’m not! ” He cuts her short. ” Why do you think I c@m£ to the city? Why do you think I had to risk the life of my people for one human? For twelve years, Diana, twelve good years I’ve waited. Twelve years I’ve wished to see you, and now I have, I can’t wait anymore. I’m here to take you home.. with me. ”
She shook her head, ” I’m not going anywhere with you. Here is my home and not with you. ”
He frowned at her statement, at the fact that she was rejecting the truth and nothing seems to hurt him than that.
” Besides, you’re just in my head. ”
” New York is not your home, none of them are. Your home is with me, that’s where you belong. ” He c@m£ closer and she went backwards.
Her movement was interrupted by the be-d. ” Get away from me. ”
” You have to come home with me, Diana, you have to. ”
Her hands held the be-d for support, but she learned back from him. Her gazed were fixed at him as he kept coming closer to her.
” D… don’t come any closer. ”
” You’re my property, Diana, my half. You can’t reject that matter how ha-rd you try to. ”
She couldn’t struggle, his clos£ness made her weak. She could only stare back at him and wish he will not hurt her as he has said.
He shifted the fabric of her cloth, ex-posing her ba-re skin. Gripping her both hands ti-ght, he dug his teeth into her skin.
His teeth went de-ep, but not too de-ep, only creating a mark same as the one on her wrist.
As he pu-ll-ed his teeth out, she gro-an ed in pains.
Staring weakly into his eyes, he said. ” You belong to me now, kitten. I’ll always find you no matter how far you run. ”
Her eyes gradually closed, and he helped her l@yon the be-d.
She g@sped awake, staring at her room. She didn’t realize herself falling asleep.
And thankfully, the morning has approached.
She entered the bathroom, sinking herself in the h0t water. Her dream last night c@m£ displa-ying in her mind.
She never knew she would stand before the one who desperately wants her. She remembered the p@rt he told her about the envelope, and she rushed her shower heading back to her room.
She took out the envelope from un-derneath the lamp stand. Opening it, she took out the ph0to albu-m, staring at the pictures in it.
She would smile as she fli-pped the pages. It was pictures of both her and her little puppy, Micky on that night at the woods.
The smile suddenly faded from her face as she got to the picture of where the wolf had bitten her. She then recalled in her dream when he had bitten her on her shoulder.
Staring at herself at the mirror, she could see the mark on her shoulder.
She left her room to uncle Kelvin’s room, he was the only one she could talk to about this with a comfortable mind.
” Uncle kel? ” She called from the outside, with a knock accompanied.
” Yes, Diana. Come in. ”
He was fixing his tie when she walked in. He looked at her face, she wasn’t looking happy. ” Is there something wrong? ” He asked, concerned.
” I think so. ” She said, sitting on his be-d.
” You can tell me whatever it is, I’m listening. ” He st©pped knotting his tie, trying to pay attention to what she was about to say.
” I had a dream last night, ” she started. ” I found myself in the same hospital I was discharged yesterday. And in that same room, I met this guy I’ve never seen him before. First, he said I had something that belongs to him and that he wants it back. ”
” What is this thing that belongs to him? ”
” The mark, ” she replied, ” he said it has something to do with him. ”
” Hmm, ” he hummed.
” He said I belong to him, and no matter how far I run to, he will always find me. ”
” It’s him, he’s finally found you. ”
” But that’s just a dream. ”
” He’s in your head, Diana, that’s why he was able to invade your dream. Did he do anything to you? ” He asked.
She nodded her head.
” Let me see. ”
She shifted her cloth, ex-posing her shoulder to him. ” What does it mean? ” She asked.
” It’s a sign that… you’ve been remarked. He is right about one thing, Diana, you’re his forever. ”
The word echoed in her ear, continuously. « You are his forever. »
