⟨ BEGINNING OF HER POWERS ⟩
⟨ HOW IT ALL BEGAN ≈ 23 YEARS AGO ⟩
Gretchen sitted in one of the trees, performing white magic by beautifying the trees. She can’t be seen by the human eyes, but can be see by like little creatures like her.
She was glowing and shinning so brightly. She’s the guidance of the forest and seven seas who always come down to the earth to guide the forest and seven seas.
She was still performing white magic when she heard the footsteps of a human coming into the forest.
“What is a human doing in the forest at this time of night?” She asked and flew closer to watch was going on, and she sees a woman holding a little baby.
She was in so much blood, and was at the verge of dying. The woman was in tears as well.
“What’s going on?” Gretchen mumbled.
“Please my child, don’t die, mother is going to find a way to save you, please don’t die” The woman said coughing out blood.
“Please guidance of the forest, please save my child, she’s too young to die, I just recently gave birth to her, don’t let her die” The woman said crying, she coughed out blood, and she fell to the ground meeting her death.
“Is she dead?” Gretchen asked. She tried to go close to the woman and her child, but a voice stop her.
“Don’t even think about it”
Gretchen turned behind her and see Farris.
“Farris what are you doing here?” She asked.
“I was guiding the stars when I saw you. I know what you are about to do Gretchen, but don’t do it. Don’t interfere with human lives” Farris said.
“But the woman begged me to save her child. I am the guidance of the forest Farris, I can’t just ignored her last wish” Gretchen said.
“You are not the guidance of live and death, so don’t interfere with human lives” Farris said.
“Are you try to say I should let that child died. I have lived for 300 years, how can I allowed a one week baby die knowing I can save her?” Gretchen asked.
“Is her fate to die at a young age. If it wasn’t her fate to die now, the guidance of live and death would have come down to the human world and save her” Farris said.
“I don’t care about such stupid fate, her mother last wish is for the guidance of the forest to save her, and who is the guidance of the forest? Gretchen. And who is Gretchen? Me, so I am going to save her” Gretchen said going close to the child.
“If you save that child, you will lose your powers”
“Is our duty to save lives Farris”
“Your powers aren’t meant to save lives”
“I don’t care, I am going to save this child”
“Stop being stubborn Gretchen!”
“I am not being stubborn Farris, I am trying to grant the wish of a dying mother” Gretchen said.
“You already know what will befall you if you do something which you are not a guidance of right? You will become the thing you save” Farris said.
“Is not bad if I become human” She said.
“Really Gretchen, you want to become human? A human who is weak, easily stepped on and gets scared? Is that what you want, instead of remaining the guidance of the forest and seven seas, who doesn’t age, who is strong and have white magic?” Farris asked.
“If that’s the price I have to pay to grant the wish of a dying mother who made a wish in my forest, I am going to do it” Gretchen said and went closer to the dead child.
She performed white magic on her, and the child slowly began to breath.
“She is breathing again Farris” Gretchen said smiling, but her smile slowly disappeared, when she became weak, and slowly she transformed into baby.
“You are so stubborn Gretchen. Since you save a baby child, you became a baby as well. How are you going to survived in the human world filled with wicked people without your powers?” Farris said, and the guidance of all the entire angels appeared.
“Scandinavian” Farris said bowing to him. He’s the most powerful creature among the entire angels with the powers of the heavens.
“Gretchen went against what she’s not a-ssigned to do and became human” Scandinavian said.
“I tried stopping her Scandinavian, but she won’t listen to me. She was determined in saving that child because her mother made a wish here in her forest”
“Then let her live as a human”
“But Scandinavian, she won’t be able to survive in the human world, she already lost her powers, and you already know the humans are cruel beings” Farris said.
“She chose to be stubborn, so let her bear the consequences of her action. She will only become Gretchen the powerful guidance of the forest and seven seas again, if she defiles this human body given to her, and she’ll never be allowed to interfere with the humans ever again” Scandinavian said.
“So what should I do with her?” Farris asked.
“She’s temporarily a human now, so let her live as a human until she defiles the body, then her powers will return to her, likewise her memories” Scandinavian said and disappeared.
“What should I do now, who should I take first, the real human or Gretchen?” She asked anticipating on what do to.
Since the woman who made a wish earlier is already dead, Farris decided to bury her first, before taking Gretchen to the human world.
After burying the woman with her white powers, Farris carried Gretchen who was now a baby to the human world.
She was walking around Maelstrom, but no one could see her.
“I am going to give you to someone who is worth having you” Farris said then she heard two women discussing.
“C’mon Tanisha, you don’t have to soak yourself in tears all because you can’t have a child”.
“It hurts so much that I won’t be able to give birth Manisha” Tanisha said.
“And what about me, I have no child of my own” Manisha said.
“That’s because you chose not to get married. I really want a child of my own” Tanisha said with a sullen face.
“She’s the perfect person to raise you Gretchen” Farris said, and dropped Gretchen in the handcart of Tanisha.
“What is a baby doing in your handcart Tanisha?” Manisha asked, but Tanisha smiled and carried the baby.
“Manisha I think the heavens have already grant me my wish” She said smiling.
“Don’t tell me you are going to raise that child” Manisha said.
“Do you expect me to throw her away?” She asked.
“What if she’s a curse child?” Manisha asked.
“Gretchen is not a curse child, but the powerful guidance of the forest and seven seas” Farris said as if Manisha could hear her.
“I don’t care if she’s a cursed child, I am going to raise her. I think I will call her Tatiana from now on” Tanisha said smiling.
“Don’t raise that child Tanisha” Manisha said.
“I have made my decision I am going to raise her. Tatiana is my daughter from now on, and you should never tell her that I am not her mother even if I die, promise”
“Fine”
“Welcome to New Life Tatiana” Tanisha said smiling.
Farris sighed in relief when she saw Gretchen was in save hands. She went back to the forest to get the other child Gretchen saved, and she heard her crying.
Farris was about to carry her, when a man took the baby from the ground.
“Stop crying little one. I am Master Gu, and I will save your life” He said and the child stopped crying.
Master Gu smiled and stroked her hair. “Why will your parents abandoned a beautiful child like you in the woods?” Master Gu said.
“Is he crazy, can’t he tell the difference between the woods and the forest?” Farris said.
“I am going to take care of you, so I will call you Swati” Master Gu said leaving the forest.
“I guess I have done my part” Farris mumbled and sighed.
⟨ PRESENT DAY ≈ CHENG’S ROOM ⟩
“Now that you have been given a second chance to return to being Gretchen, the powerful guidance of the forest and seven seas, you have to leave the human world, and return back to being Gretchen, and not Tatiana” Farris said.
Tatiana shakes her head, as more tears falls down her eyes.
“I can’t leave the human world just yet” She said.
“And why not Gretchen? Do you know I had to borrow a human body just so I could watch over you. I was actually the one who made the sword hit Thiago’s face when he tried to hit you with the sword. I also made Cheng stabbed himself when he was controlled to kill you, and about Cheng’s heart always arching anytime you are in danger, I was responsible for it, so he can save you with his dark powers. The body I borrowed has already fade away, so it’s time to return to our world, where we are immortals and invisible to the human eye” Farris said.
“I can’t just leave Cheng, he is going to get hurt. He will die if I leave. He loves me so much, and I love him too” Tatiana said crying.
“Love isn’t made for us Gretchen. A love between a human and a immortal is impossible, because you don’t age Gretchen, but Cheng will. So let’s leave when you still have time”
“I am not leaving, I am not leaving the human world!!” Tatiana yells crying.
“Tiana are you all right?” Cheng asked entering the room, and Farris disappeared.
Tatiana hug-ged Cheng tightly.
“I don’t want to leave you Cheng, I don’t want to go back to my world” She said crying.
Cheng broke the hug and looked at her.
“What are you saying Tiana? Where are you going, and what world are you talking about?” Cheng asked looking confused.
Tatiana cleaned her tears and said. “Is nothing Cheng, I just want to be alone” Tatiana said and leaves the room before Cheng could say a word.

*A love between a human and a immortal is impossible, because you don’t age Gretchen, but Cheng will. So let’s leave when you still have time* Farris’s words echoed in Tatiana’s ears, and it made her shed tears.
“I don’t want to leave, I can’t leave Cheng, I can’t leave him knowing he has a dangerous demon inside of him. I can’t leave him, not knowing about the dark witch that possessed him” She said crying.
“Tatiana!” Kira called her from behind, and Tatiana cleaned her tears before looking at her.
“Yes Kira”
“Have you seen the palace head maid? She just disappeared like a bubble” Kira said.
“No… No I haven’t” Tatiana said, she looked around the palace, and sees Farris in the palace’s roof.
“I wonder where she must have gone to. Anyways aren’t you sleeping yet?” She asked.
“Not yet Kira” She said, and Kira nodded her head and leaves.
Tatiana looked at Farris, and quickly looked somewhere else, walking away.
“Why is she being stubborn? The heavens have grant her a second chance to return back to being Gretchen” Farris said and sighed.

⟨ MARCELLUS’S HOUSE ⟩
“So you mean Tatiana who is the bride of the demon is your best friend?” Thalia asked.
“Yes she is. I love her so much, there’s something special about her that I can’t pinpoint, I feel like she’s my life saver” Swati said.
“I envy your friendship with her, and I don’t even have friends talk more of having a best friend”
“Why?”
“My father don’t allow us to hang out with people. He’s not a king, but he kept acting like one. I was so happy when Marcellus came to Maelstrom, at least he will be free from my father’s nagging, that’s the reason why I came here too, so I can be free from his unending nagging” Thalia said.
“He must be really strict”
“Yes he is. But leave that aside, when are you going to tell my brother you love him?” Thalia asked wiggling her eyebrows.
“Huh?”
“Don’t give me that look. I know you love Marcellus, and he loves you too. But you see Marcellus is always too shy to tell a woman he loves her. The last time he gathered up courage to confess his feelings for you, I ruined it, so you should make the first move”.
“Is not allowed in Maelstrom”
“Huh?”
“When a man and woman haven’t become lovers yet, a woman can’t be the first one to confess her feelings for a man”
“That’s lame. In Succie kingdom is allowed. Anyone can confess their feelings to the person they like. If you want to get married to a chicken, no one is going to ask you” Thalia said and Swati laughed.
“Succie Kingdom must really be a fun kingdom to be, right?” She asked.
“Yes it is. Do you want me to make Marcellus finally confess his feelings for you?” Thalia asked and Swati looked at her.

“What! You want to go to the palace and work as a bodyguard to the King?” Anisha asked.
“Yes Anisha”
“But why brother?”
“The king needs a new personal bodyguard, so I am going to apply for it, and is also an opportunity for me to get back at all of then for hiding the truth about mother’s death”
“You are putting yourself in danger brother” Anisha said.

“Tiana! Tiana!!” Cheng called her name going after her as she walked in a fast pace, and when he couldn’t catch up with her, he teleport to her front.
Tataina looked at him, and avoided his eyes.
“What’s going on Tiana, why are you avoiding me?” He asked.
“I am not avoiding you Cheng, I just want to be alone” She said.
“That’s what you have been saying since last night. Did I do something wrong, tell me so I can apologize. Okay fine I am sorry. I don’t know what I did but I’m sorry. Stop avoiding me Tatiana, is making go crazy, you already know I can’t do without you, right?” Cheng said with misty eyes.
Tatiana flights back her tears and said. “I know that Cheng. You didn’t do anything wrong, so you don’t have to apologize to me. I have to do something fast before it’s too late, and I need a moment alone so I can help you before I leave” She said.
“Where are you going?” He asked.
“You don’t have to know” Tatiana said walking away.
“Tiana, please wait” He said holding her hand, and the moment he held her hand, light shown on Tatiana’s body, and it flew Cheng far away from her.
He landed his back forcefully on some sharp metals and blood gushed out from his mouth.
“Cheng!!!” Tatiana screamed teleporting to where he was.
