The curse of Cain episode 9 & 10

?The Curse Of Cain?
Episode 9

Getting re-ady

Calvin tossed and tossed in his be-d until he finally pushed all the pillows off the be-d unto the marble floor.

This is insane! Completely insane!

How did they expect him to make that….that…..(he couldn’t find the right word for her)to fall inlove with him, how could they even ask him to do such nons-en-se. For many centuries now he had forgotten and abandoned love

. Every since Trister, he hadn’t even considered loving anyone or trying to plea-se anyone and now when he was so close to having this bloody curse re-moved, he was asked to woo! This was just preposterous!

He had confirmed again from Sody why the triad would ask him to do such a thing.

“My Lord, love led you to do something evil and you have to make it right with love as well.”

Again that day, he had slammed his tablet against the wall and broken the screen.

He had thought he was going to kill her and now he had to woo her! of all things! He cursed the triads for the hundredth time.

“Bunch of losers, the lots of them”

Just then his door bell rang.

“Yea, come in.” He growled.

Five of his men, accompanied by Ruzo, his right hand man, walked in and they all as-sembled themselves in front of him, arms behind their back.

“Yes boss, here we are.” Ruzo said.

Calvin sighed and signaled to one of them to pick the pillows up .

“Okay gentlemen…” He began, sitting upright. “How many of you have a girlfriend?”

The men looked at one another with a s surprised expression on their faces and no one c@m£ forward.

Calvin could re-ad that they were probably thinking they were in some kind of trouble.

“Chill, guys! Don’t worry, I’m not killing anyone okay!” He said, bringing out his gun from somewhere behind him and empting its chambers but this further scared the guys.

“Look, I nee-d help okay! I want to know how you were able to woo your girlfriends or your wives as the case may be.”

No response.

Calvin was getting impatient

. “Ruzo! Talk to these guys or I will lose my patience!”

Ruzo quic-kly confronted the men and spoke to them in an African language, surprisingly, two of them raised up their hands.

“So cat got their ears before?” Calvin hissed. “The rest can go, Ruzo, you stay.”

Some of the men dispersed while two men stayed behind. They looked older than the rest and less fearful.

“Alright gentlemen, so, how did you woo your girlfriends, tell me everything, maybe I can give you off days to even spend time with them this week.”

The two men exchanged glances and smiled excitedly.

“Our wives, boss, how did we woo our wives.”

Calvin raised a brow. “Wow! You are married. Fantastic, okay, tell me everything, especially if she’s someone you actually hated from the beginning.”

“Okay boss, I will go first.” The shorter of the two began….

Sonia sighed and sighed until she could sigh no more. She couldn’t un-derstand what was happening and why she kept seeing all these men and not seeing him-the main devil-her terror. She was sure it was his idea to have her imprisoned. She had done all kind of crazy things to get his attention, to make him come for her, bitten his men and even kicked them, yet he wasn’t showing up.

. Why wouldn’t he come and confront her?

She was sick and tired of trying to escape, there was no escaping this place at all. She thought if she could reach some kind of agreement with this devil of whoever he was, he could let her go but first, what did he even want from her?

The elevator in her room chimed and the maid c@m£ in, bringing her lunch.

She was an older woman, plumb like most African women, dark skin with few wrinkles on her face. She looked like in her fifties. She said nothing as always. She just c@m£ in and went to the window, drawing the curtain.

“Exuse me Ma” Sonia started, determined to make her talk this time.

To her surprised, the woman turned to look at her for the first time.

Sonia stood up from her seat as she wasn’t tied up any longer but the woman shifted back.

“Look, do not kick me, bite me or do anything stupid.”

Sonia flu-shed in embarras-sment. “ I am sorry, I would never do that to you…just that those men scare me and they hurt me, I am sorry.”

The woman eyed her and continued with her work.

“I am Sonia.” She continued but the woman only nodded.

‘plea-se, where is this place, where am I?”

The woman said nothing but instead walked to the other window, yet Sonia followed.

“I was abducted on the night of my bridal shower. Are you married? Do you have any idea how much my parents and hubby will be? plea-se help me, I just nee-d to know where I am?”

The woman said nothing but kept on doing what she was doing. Sonia sighed and shook her head.

“Thanks for your help.” She said, before returning to the be-d. While she l@yon the be-d, she saw the woman’s f!nger going about on the window blind as if trying to write something.

Intrigued, Sonia stood up and paid attention. The woman signaled to the roof, and then drew some letters in the air…

Sonia smiled, she was trying to warn her that they were being watched and that she couldn’t talk, and finally, what she drew were two letters,SA-

She g@sped as she realized she had flown all the way from Nigeria to South Africa. She placed a hand on her forehead, trying to get over the shock.

“By the way, Miss, someone will come in to get you prepared.” The woman finally said.

“Prepared, prepared for what?”

“To get you dressed to eat with the boss.”

DINING WITH THE DEVIL

SONIA

Throu-ghout the food, we were both quiet, the only thing ma-king sounds were the noise of our cutlery.

The table was long and made of the finest structure I have ever seen, and while I sat at the bo-ttomof the table, he was at the t©p.

I didn’t actually know what I was eating but since there were rice and lettuce, sauce and chicken, these three were my good for me but even though it was quite delicious, I lacked the appetite for it. There was no way I could have an appetite when the devil was sitting just some inches away from me…

I wasn’t at ease and it seemed as if he wasn’t too because he kept shifting uncontrollably.

I just wished he could say something , I had so many things to ask him, why he had kept me alive, why he had brou-ght me here? I had thrown all those tantrums to get his attention and now that we were together finally, I couldn’t muster the courage to even say a word…

CAIN

Exactly what was I supposed to say to a lady who I kept as a prisoner after ordering her death, kept her alive and now expected to woo

. Seriously, how do you start such a conversation? Definitely not a ‘hello pretty, sorry I killed you, guess what, you are alive, let’s do high 5”

I shook my head, that was not an option.

I took a quic-k glance at her while she fidgeted with the food in her plate…her hair was pinned to the t©p of her head in a big bun and she was dressed in a long blue armless flowing go-wn

. She looked pretty but quite nervous and much of her food hadn’t been eaten.

It was ha-rd to tell that this lady sitting and looking so innocent as messed with my boys….she just didn’t look it at all.

Then I caught sight of her left fourth f!nger which still had the imprint of a ring…

How do you develop a conversation with someone you abducted and who was actually getting re-ady for her wedding? This was more difficult than I thought.

I knew he was looking at me, I could feel his intense glare….it was affecting my digestion and I could ha-rd ly swallow the food in my mouth.

Why was he looking at me like that and why wasn’t he talking?

My heart was beating against my che-st softly and I felt as nervous as ever…I thought I saw a fly or something and I had to look up—

It was one of the guards who c@m£ around to whisper something into his ears-so he had to look away while I used the opportunity to study him.

This was the first time I was seeing him, I had seen him several times in my nightmares but this was actually the first time I took a good look at him…

His sharp features looked like they were made from granite, hisl-ips contrasted with his fair complexion. His t©p l!pwas firm while the lower was full and S-xy. There was this sinister dangerous air that loomed around him which s£nt my inner alarm ringing and buzzing with fear and excitement.

His eyes were mesmerizing icy green, they seemed as if they had seen lots of years with brows darker than his dirty-blonde hair…he was gorgeous …and dangerous….almost evil…that was when it occurred to me that it was just the two of us and here I was looking right at him…

Our eyes met and locked from across the room. at me but he was the first to break the spell between us as he looked away while I flu-shed in embarras-sment; I had expo-sed myself too much….

?The Curse Of Cain?
Episode 10

It begins

Talk about disaster, the lunch was a total disaster. Sonia kept reliving that p@rt where he had stood up first, muttered something to himself and then dispersed quietly into the elevator. So what was the main purpose of eating together then?

She was angry and disappointed in herself, she had one chance of seeing this man who had captured her and she couldn’t even say a single word to him

. Now she was being shown p@rts of the mansion’s east wing and for what it’s worth, she was actually b!own away by the splendor of the house. Madam Kofi was the one showing her around, the woman who had told her she was in SA, she later learned her name during their conversation and according to her, it was the master’s order to show her around for reasons she couldn’t quite ask.

The mansion seemed to be a multi-sto-rey with lovely gables at the t©p. There were several pillars holding the mansion together, adding to its beauty.

. Each floor of the east wing had a wi-de open balcony which was adorned with gorgeous plants, on the left side of the east wing was a metal spiral staircase which Madam Kofi said led to the west wing which was master’s wing

. She was also shown the rectangular swimming pool which was infront of the pillarsFor what it was worth, she actually liked it even though it was her prison.

. There was also a couple of stairs that led to the courtyard and now we were on the ground floor-in the attic.

Everywhere was dark.

“Don’t mind the dirt miss, no one stays here, stuffs that are here are just things we packed from the mansion after it was bought.” Madame Koffi said, going into the dark room while I stayed outside, I didn’t want to bu-mp into anything.

Some seconds later, the light c@m£ on to reveal a dusty room with stuffs jam-packed here and there. Old cloths, old furniture….etc.

As she walked her, her eyes captured the Piano stand that was close to an old dusty table.

“Wow! How long has this been here?” She asked as she blew the dust off the keyboard…

“Well, as old as the house I guess.”Madame Kofi replied.

“It’s beautiful, it Castio Wells, from the 80’s.” She said, admiring the old dusty piano. “I learned music in school and pla-ying has actually been a pas-sion for me, I train students.”

“Oh, I see, would you mind if I clean so you can pl@yso I can see you badly want to.”

Sonia smiled, atleast, something that caught her interest…

“Yes plea-se, I would love it so much.”

An ominous boom startled Calvin out of haunting nightmares of his past…his arm burned and his entire b©dy was soa-ked in a cold sweat. The be-d sheets were twisted around his lim-bs, he knew he had thrashed around in his sleep again…things were out of place and he had even knocked the stool over…

His heart pounded against his che-st as the remnants of his nightmare clung to his mind.

His eyes scanned the scar on his ba-re arm….it was giving off that formidable red light again…he knew his rage was building up again….every night, it had always been like this.

His rage was building like a de-ep water current, with his head, pounding as if trying to crash out of his skull, he shut his eyes as he held both hands to his head…

His scar burned like fire lacing his veins and creeping up his spine…it was almost time for his scream….as the intensity of the pain increa-sed….and all of a sudden, a soft music floated in the atmosphere, it was like a cold water was poured in his bucket of hell….

All the pain …all the fire….the h0tness seemed to float away with the soft tune….he opened his eyes, surprised and confused. This has never happened to him before.

he quic-kly checked his arm, its scar was giving off a little red glow now, dying down slowly as the music kept pla-ying on slowly, effortlessly, like the waves filling hole in the beach sand…

Like a magnet, it captured him, drawing him closer and he saw himself responding to his spell….he nee-ded to find out who was pla-ying that music.

SONIA

Sonia soon lost herself in the music. There were something about the keys beneath her f!nger ti-ps that felt so heavenly; they were like liquid energy seeping right throu-gh her skin. She had pla-yed piano all her life; it was the best way to express her emotions and this time, she had so much to express, closing her eyes, she got caught up in the magical flight of the heavenly melody, unaware of the audience that stood behind her watching with utmost interest…

Calvin watched as she pla-yed on and on, it seemed like a sad music but it gave him so much peace….

When she finally ended, he couldn’t help but cl@pped, startling the poor girl who stood up immediately, moving away from the keyboard and looking as if caught doing what she shouldn’t be doing.

“plea-se, plea-se, I am sorry, I din’t mean to startle you.” Calvin apologised, walking into the attic.

“How did you learn to pl@yso beautifully?” He asked, looking around for the maid but she was out of sight.

“I..I..am a teacher.” Sonia replied.

“That was so beautiful, the most beautiful thera-pist I have ever had ….” He said, taking a seat, on the small bench infront of the keyboad

“Is it a story?”

The lady nodded, looking down, still standing.

“Tell me about it plea-se and plea-se, sit , I didn’t mean to startle you.”

Sonia contemplated, avoiding his eyes as much as he could, before sitting down beside him. Then she started pla-ying again…

For a while, she just kept on pla-ying without any of them saying anything. Later she said quietly-

“It’s about a man, who was banished, because of love and who was curse to roam the earth forever to seek redemption….”

The reply she got was the smooth breathing of a sound, peaceful sleep….and worse, his head was resting on her shoulder.
