CHAPTER 06 & 07
“Welcome Mr Dalton” John greeted as he went to welcome Gerald into the room.
Arabella moved away from them and while the two men greeted each other. She pulled off the band on her hair, freeing the curls and also scattering them a bit so they would cover most of her face.
She is wearing a lot of make up and if Gerald a-ssess her closely. He will get to know who she is.
“What are you doing?” Nina whispered to at her.
“Hiding my face” Arabella whispered back.
“He might still recognise you. So it’s best that you give it up and…….”
“Stop it! I wouldn’t be here if you hadn’t lured me here” Arabella whispered.
“I didn’t know that he invited Gerald over. I would never have brou-ght you here if I did” Nina whispered back and unknown to the two of them. Gerald and John were watching them.
It wasn’t until John coughed out loudly that they stopped talking.
“Hello sir. Am Nina Mayer. Arabella Blake manager” Nina said introducing herself.
“Nice meeting you” Gerald replied with all curtsey.
All eyes turned to her. She was still standing at the same spot wondering if she should just leave or if she should stay.
“Don’t I get an introduction?” Gerald Dalton asked and she forced herself to stop being nervous.
‘Act natural. For now you are Ara the model and singer’ She thought as she drew in a de-ep breath before walking towards them.
“Of course you deserve an introduction” She said as she avoided eye contact with him.
“Am Ara Blake. Nice meeting you Mr Dalton” She said stretching fourth her hand to him.
As soon as he held her hand. She pulled away, quickly moving towards the sofa to start the disscussion.
“I will leave you all now” Nina said excusing herself.
“Can’t my manager stay” Arabella said quickly wanting Nina to be with her.
After all she brou-ght her here and so she must also suffer this nervousness with her.
“This has to do with the company and you. It’s a private affair which consist of the three of us alone. I also didn’t bring anyone with me” Gerald replied.
“Hear that Ara? I will take my leave now” Nina said, quickly escaping from the room.
“So now let’s get down to business” John said while Gerald brou-ght out the file he had with him.

A while later, Arabella was still in the room watching the two men negotiate while she wondered when they would finish.
She kept on staring at her watch and also at the door while she waited for the two men to do their thing.
“Is everything okay Miss Ara?” Gerald was the one who asked.
“It is. Everything is perfect.” She a-ssured quickly.
“Then if you agree to the things Mr Gerald said here. You can sign these papers and…..”
“Give it to me!” She yelled out as she took the papers from Gerald while she signed her signature.
“That’s all I have to do right? Well then goodbye and…..”
“Now hold on a second Arabella” John said and she stopped to stare at them again.
“I was hoping that we could all have lunch together and…..”
“I don’t eat lunch” She said giving an excuse.
“Since when?”John asked.
“Since….uh…uh… Since yesterday. I started dieting yesterday. So you see am going to have to skip lunch” She offered.
“Then what about dinner. I can just move it to…..”
“Don’t! Don’t do that John” She said interrupting him.
“Why?”John asked.
“Am also dieting during then too” Arabella said.
“Really? So when don’t you diet?”John asked.
“In the morning. I only eat in the morning. Am really sorry that I have to decline lunch and dinner. I hope that next time. We will be able to have breakfasts together. Since there is nothing more to talk about. I will take my leave then” She said as she quickly walked out of john’s office.

“What the hell is wrong with her?”John muttered as he stared at the door way.
“Is she always like that?” Gerald asked, having heard John muttering.
“I can a-ssure you that Arabella is one hundred percent okay. She is just getting all edgy because her vacation was ruined” John said.
“Is that so?” Gerald asked as he thought about the things he noticed earlier.
She had the same eyes like someone he knew. She had been absent minded during the meeting and something else he noticed was her ma-ssaging her elbow.
‘She must have been injured there’ He thought, as he listened to john’s closure on the contract.
Did he make the right choice by choosing Ara as the face of the new product they are launching because there is something definitely odd about her? .
“You left! You really are a traitor” Arabella said, talking to Nina on the phone while she took the elevator downstairs.
“I knew you would be freaking angry at me and knowing how you get when you are angry. I decided to come home and…..”
“Do you think i can’t come to your home?” She asked, cutting Nina off.
“You better don’t! There are a lot of your fans at my front door. I will let them know you are coming and you….”
“Nina! Don’t make me more angry. I might just do something crazy” Arabella threatened.
“Am sorry. Just let it go and you know that I love you. I love you and will always love you. Go to Gerald home or he will notice something is off. Bye bye for now” Nina said as she switched off the phone.
“You are a real dead meat once I get you Nina” Arabella said as she walk out of the elevator.
In a rush to get back to Gerald’s home before anyone notices her gone, she collided with someone.
“Am sorry” She said as she looked up to see Jenna.
“Like seriously? Do you have to ruin my day by showing me your face?” Jenna muttered as she pretended to brush off her body.
“And do you always have to ruin mine with your words?” Arabella asked her only rival in the music industry.
“My day is already bad enough. Now I have to deal with you?”Jenna said, still feeling angry by Arabella’s presence.
“And does your bad day have to do with me getting the Dalton deal?” She asked knowing that Jenna must have been told about the deal by her gossipy manager.
“Just because you’ve been given the Dalton deal doesn’t mean you have won” Jenna said
“I have won! Afterall have been given a huge deal whereas you haven’t even been given one. If you like I can send some deal your way?” Arabella said knowing it would make her very mad.
“I don’t need your filthy crumbs. I don’t need anything from you and someday I will make you pay for every insult you’ve sent my way” Jenna said
“I will be waiting for that day Jenna” Arabella challenged too.
“You really are……”
“Jenna” On hearing that voice they both turned to see Gerald walking towards them.
“Oh Gerald!”Jenna called, as she went to him while Arabella quickly made her exit not wanting gerald to talk to her.
But Gerald noticed her running off before his attention was claimed by Jenna.

Using a restaurant rest room. Arabella cleaned all of her make up and transformed herself back to the ugly Bella.
Taking a taxi she went back to the Dalton mansion.
She got in without any problem because the guards were not by the gate..
She was about entering the mansion when she ran into one of the maid.
“Bella. Where have you been? Mrs Milly have been looking for you”The maid said.
“I ….I went sight seeing. Sight seeing of the house” She added quickly.
“You should told someone then. We were quite worried. We were going to call the Boss to…..”
“You didn’t call him right?”Arabella asked quickly and the maid nodded.
“That’s good then. I will go to Mrs Milly now. “Arabella said as she went into the house heading to the kitchen where Mrs Milly would be.
“I went sight seeing of the house” She lied.
“You should go with someone. The house is very big and a newbie like you might get lost” Mrs Milly said.
“I will keep that in mind when I choose to go again. What do you want me to do?” She asked.
“Fiona is meant to be out for her summer lesson but she doesn’t want to go. This offen turns to a quarrel between Fiona and the boss. Fiona doesn’t want to go for her summer lesson and The boss wants her to go. If he should come back and she is still here. Things might get hot between them again” Mrs Milly explained.
“I will try to get her to leave for her lesson” Arabella said as she left the kitchen. Heading to Fiona room.
She knocked severally and when there was no reply. She opened the door with the spare given to her by Mrs Milly.
She saw Fiona lying on the bed playing with her phone. She walked in only to stop when she saw what was in her room.
“What are you looking at?” Fiona asked.
“Do you like her?” Arabella asked as she stared at her poster which was plastered on Fiona wall.
“Why do you care?” Fiona asked.
“It’s Because I like her too” Arabella replied as she felt a thrill of happiness knowing that her daughter likes her as the singer.
“You like Ara? I doubt that. Your just saying that to get to me” Fiona said
“It’s the truth. I really like Ara. Am a die ha-rd fan of hers” Arabella replied knowing that she is talking about herself.
“I don’t believe you and you should leave. I never told you to come into my room” Fiona stated.
“But I should. Your running late for your lesson Fiona. It’s my job to make sure you…..”
“Stop lecturing me and leave!” Fiona yelled throwing a teddy at her.
“You don’t throw things on an adult” Arabella cautioned her.
“Really? Watch me then” Fiona yelled as she began to throw her all the teddy on her bed.
Arabella dodged all of it and moved towards her daughter before she could throw something else.
“Stop being a brat and get ready for your lessons” Arabella said.
“Really? If you want me to leave then do something for me” Fiona suggested .
“What do you want me to do?” Arabella asked.
“I lost one of my teddy in the garage. I want you to get it for me. If you can bring it to me then I will surely go to the summer lessons”Fiona said.
“If I get that teddy for you. Make sure you go” Arabella said and Fiona smiled before nodding.
Arabella left the room heading to the garage.
There were almost five cars parked in the garage. Gerald sure lives a luxurious lifestyle. She thought as began her search.
Just then she heard a growl. A growl which kept coming from her back. She turned only to see a big black dog glaring at her.
Screaming out loud. She took to her heels while the dog chased her. She ran back to the mansion, and was about to go in when the door opened and Gerald was standing there.
On seeing him. She jumped right into his arms, while he held her by the wa-istto support her from falling down.
“Get that thing away from me!” She said, as she held onto him tightly.
