đ #Episode_39
On entering her room, Sadeâs phone began to ring in her hand but she wasnât in the mood to answer any call until she calls and apologise with Kehinde, so she ignored the call without finding out who the caller was.
âOluwatoyin!âshe called her daughter,
â take this money and buy me a one thousand naira recharge card from the deaconess downstairs.â She said and the little girl took off immediately to the recharge card.
âOh! This person should leave m.eâŠâ She was saying when the phone rang the third time, she picked it up and was about busying it when her eyes caught the callerâs ID. It was Kehinde that and her heart began to pound as different thoughts ran throu-gh her mind.
â Ah! He is going to shout at me, mummy said he is not happy.
He is angry with me⊠â she said to no one but herself as she fearfully watched as the buzzing of the phone st©pped and began to ring the fourth time.
đâSweetheart, plea-se pick up your calls.
Iâm sorry I hurt you. plea-se pick
your calls, am missing you so strongly
over here. Your love is de-eply sorryâŠâ
With an opened mouth and wi-de-ned eyes, Sade re-ad the text that entered her phone after the fourth call ended.
âHe called me sweetheart, and he is even apologising to me. He is missing me even after accusing himâŠâ She was still talking to an empty room and her phone began to ring again, but this time, it was one of the girls in her bridals train who was calling and she immediately frown her in disappointment then grudgingly answered it.
âTolani, plea-se I will call you back later.â She said in order to dismiss the girl who had started telling a long story, trying to cut short the beautiful moment she was alre-ady enjoying from the text message.
âOK maâ the Tolani replied and hanged up. Kehindeâs call entered immediately and she quic-kly picked it up excitedly.
âMy beautiful wife, the best among women, the proverb 31 woman, my gorgeous queen, the only woman that has my heart in her palms and the mother of my childrenâŠâ Sade stood still, engulfed with a mixture of strong emotions and astonishment hearing Kehinde calling her beautiful names.
âLord, I know I didnât deserve this man but you gave him to me in order to prove to me that you still love me. plea-se Lord God,Give me the wisdom to relate and handle him as I ought toâŠâ She found herself praying silently followed by the dropping of joyful tears.
âHello.. He..llo!â Kehinde said repeatedly when he didnât hear her say a word.
âHelloâ she responded and wiped off the tears on her cheeks.
â Are you crying? Oh my God!â Kehindeâs disturbe-d voice was heard at the other end.
âIâm sorry, I really didnât mean to hurt you. I was emotionally stressed up andâŠâ He was still trying to explain when she spoke up.
âIâm sorry brother Kehinde.â She said and not finding more any other word in her head to express herself, she kept quiet and silence ensued for the next few seconds.
âYou know what? Just take a cold bath, dress up beautifully and smell nice for me, am coming to take you out right now.â He said calmly and a she found herself smiling and crying at the same time.
âAlright.â Was the only word that c@mÂŁ out of her mouth before the call ended. She jumped up in excitement, rushed into the bathroom and was alre-ady bathing when Toyin entered.
âMom,here is the recharge card!â She shouted loud.
âOluwatoyin, well done o. It took you a whole day to buy recharge card abi?â She replied casually from the bathroom.
âNo mummy, deaconess was not around and I had to stay there and wait for her.â Toyin explained childishly.
âCl@p for yourself then, maybe she is the only person selling airtime around hereâ Sade replied as she hurried out of the bathroom.
âBut, you told me to buy it from herâŠâ Toyin argued with a smile as she watched her mother.
âThank you, keep it on the table.â Sade said absÂŁnt mindedly as she sort out the clothes to wear.
âAre you going somewhere?â The inquisitive Toyin queried seeing her mother dressing up with one of her best outfits.
âYes,â Sade replied without looking at her.
âIs it with brother Kehinde?â She asked and quic-kly covered her mouth with her palms when her mother turned to look at her.
âYes! Miss interviewer, plea-se donât ask me any question again. Just take whatever you nee-d and start going to big mummyâs house now.â Sade told her and she immediately stood, picked up her school bag and left the room.
She looked at herself over and over before the mirror and was practicing different types of smiles and facial expression when her phone buzzed.

âIâm waiting outside.â Kehinde informed her over the phone and her heart leaped for joy. She quic-kly picked up her phone and the fancy handbag Kehinde had gotten for her as a surprise before their traditional marriage then k!$$ÂŁd the room good bye.
âAm I not blessed to have such a beautiful woman as my wife?â Kehinde asked rhetorically when she entered the car and she suddenly bec@mÂŁ shy.
âIâve been watching you from here, you are simply beautiful my love.â He adored her and she reddened in the face from shyness.
âThank you.â She managed to say.
âSo, can we?â He asked, searching for her eyes and she nodded her head in the positive looking away from him.
He drove into a boutique where both male and female wears were being sold and she turned to look at him as he searched for a parking lot then quic-kly looked away before he could notice her.
âLetâs do a little shopping here before going to the Chillings Palace where I can seat with my baby, look into her eyes and then have some sweet talks with her.â He said flir-tatiously and she felt like the earth should open its mouth and swallow her from his alluring eyes. She just found herself nodding her head and masticating.
.
âđTHE DARLINGSđâ Sade re-ad the boutique name out silently to herself when she climbe-d down from the car, and adjusted her knee length go-wn they walked into the exotic interiors of the boutique.
âWelcome to đTHE DARLINGS đ. ma-king couples look gorgeous together is our number one priority. Our wears here comes with special attrac-tive and bonding packages which enhances couples conducive atmosphere to bond better. Once again, you are welcome.â One of the sales represÂŁntatives said recitatively smiling from ear to ear at Kehinde.
âThank you.â Kehinde replied with a smile, then continued as he drew Sade to himself.
âMy wife and I nee-ds beautiful uniform wearsâŠâ He was still talking when the sales represÂŁntativeâs smile reduced on seeing how he held Sade.
âOh! This way plea-se.â She said on hearing the handsome young man she had started crushing on at first glance say âmy wifeâ, and straight away she took the lead while they followed her behind.
âHunters everywhere.â Sade said un-der her breathe looking at the girl twisting her w@!st before them in the name of leading them to the uniform wears section of the boutique.
Kehinde, paused on seeing a givenchy handbag and called Sadeâs attention to it.
âSweetheart, you will like that.â He said pointing towards the beautiful handbag and she looked from the bag and back at him.
âI alre-ady have enough handbags brother Kehinde, we bought three different handbags during the traditional marriage plus other ones I haveâŠâ Sade replied objectively.
âYeah, you can have more. I like good handbags for women.â He said, pu-ll-ed her by the hand and began to walk towards the stock.
âItâs too expensive.â The sales represÂŁntative who had st©pped when she looked behind and found out that they were not following her heard Sadeâs voice.
âThis girl self, you are even lucky to have a man who is re-ady to buy for you a givenchy handbag thatâs why you are shouting itâs too expensive. If Iâm in your shoe,na sharp sharp I go pick am.â She was murmuring to herself a little distance from them.
Kehinde ended up convincing Sade for them to pick the handbag and she kept on turning at intervals to look at him as if he was strange as they were walking up to the uniform wears section.
âAre you alright?â Kehinde asked her when he noticed how she looked at him.
âYou are too good to be realâ she found herself saying before realizing that she didnât plan saying them out.
He smiled on seeing how embarras-sed she felt for ma-king that statement but before he could reply her ,they arrived at the uniform wears sectionâŠ.
âHere we are,â the sales represÂŁntative announced and he was halted from replying her.
âOver here we have Nigerian native wears for couples, beautiful corporate wears, Italian wears for couples, GucciâŠâ She was talking and pointing at different stocks as if she was singing when Kehinde interrupted her.
âUhm⊠Itâs alright. My wife knows what will be good on us, allow her sort out wears for us.â he deliberately spoke up seeing that Sade was not comfortable with the girlâs presÂŁnce.
âAlright sir.â The girl replied politely and stepped back.
âSweetheart, plea-se choose wears for us.â He turned and faced Sade ro-mantically and she blu-shed seeing how the sales girl stared at them helplessly with her mouth opened agape.
âAlright.â She replied without looking into his eyes and started selecting distinctive outfits while he followed her side by side and the sales girl collecting the stocks as she selected them.

âThanks for the wears.â Sade said with a smile as they took their seats in the first clas-s pri-vate comp@rtment of the eatery.
âIâm all yours.â He replied looking into her eyes.
âThis place is beautiful.â She said and fed her eyes with the beautiful interior dĂ©cor.
âYeah.â He replied and t©uçhed her to st©p looking at the flowers and focus on him.
âSt©p looking at the flowers, just be looking at me.â He said laughing and she gave him one of the smiling styles she had practiced in her room before coming out to meet him.
âWow!â He exclaimed and was about complimenting on her smile when a waiter c@mÂŁ to take their orders and he collected the food menu, placed it before her and asked her to thick what they would eat. She withdrew back and told him to choose for them and he did then returned the menu back to the waiter who left immediately to get the orders.
âGive me your hand,â Kehinde said leaning over the table with his right hand stretched out to receive hers and her b©dy froze as powerful emotions surged throu-gh her spines. Her head suddenly bec@mÂŁ too heavy down for her nÂŁÂąk to carry and she lowered it then gradually placed her chilled hand into his and he held her hands pas-sionately for few seconds before speaking up.
âIâm sorry for shouting at you.â He said with a sincere show of remorsefulness, then the waiter c@mÂŁ up with the orders in a large tray pan in his hand. Kehinde paused when he saw that her attention was drawn to the waiterâs presÂŁnce, then signalled him to drop and leave and he got the message.
He gently squee-zed her hand which was still in his in order to call her attention back to himself and she stole a look at him but before she could look away, her eyes caught his eyes looking at her. Her eyes fell on his pinkl-ips and she found herself fantasizing on the pinkl-ips in her heart and couldnât look away from it as it moved sweetly .
âI want you to know that you have alre-ady won this heart of mine and you can never share me with any other woman.
plea-se, help my fragile heart to love you more by trusting me as your husband. I donât have a strong heart, so I try as much as possible to avoid troubles especially from people I care about. I want us to enjoy this marriage together, plea-se help me to live longer to enjoy you and our childrenâŠâ Kehinde continued pleadingly with pas-sion in his eyes and voice.

The next day, Jumoke arrived the church mummyâs house exactly the time they scheduled to meet. The church mummy observed that she had shaped down considerably and wasnât looking her usual self even though she was trying ha-rd to maintain a lively facial expression. With the milk of motherly kindness, she did everything possible to show her extra care and love and Jumoke couldnât un-derstand the reason for the unusual kindness.
After about two hours of entertaining her, she asked her to spend the night over but she politely refused using her work as an excuse.
âI would be going to work tomorrow morning ma. Mummy donât worry, maybe one of these weekends, I will come around and spend the night.â She replied.
âAlright my dear, just that I wanted us to discuss something very important to youâ The church mummy ch!pped in cunningly in order to arou-se her interest.
âMummy, letâs talk about it then, or will it take much time?â She said with concern in her eyes. And the church mummy suddenly switched in a sad countenance.
âJumoke, itâs about you and Kehinde.â She said with a worried voice and Jumokeâs heart flew into her mouth, then her head went down low in shame.
âHe showed me the text messages you sÂŁnt to him and have also told me everything.â The church mummy began and her heart beat increa-sed.
âJumoke, that first text was too harsh to come from a Christian lady like you. You know you have a high prophetic grace and whatever you say can easily come to pas-sâŠâ The church mummy was still talking when Jumoke broke down in tears, crying uncontrollably.
âMummy, itâs so painful!â She cried out with her head down.
My baby, I un-derstand how you feel. Kehinde is very sorry; he didnât plan leaving you,God made it clear to him that you were not meant to be his wife and his leaving you is to your own advantage. Who knows, maybe the purpose of your life is greater than he can handle and God alre-ady have a better person who is worthy and capable enough to carry you in life. â the church mummy said, breathed down then continued.
âJumoke, donât tell me you havenât been putting all my teachings to practice.
Iâve been preaching it in all the youth programs some of which you were presÂŁnt that a single person should never f0rç£ his/herself into a manâs life, even if the person is an ex, if that lover or ex is no longer interested in the relationsh!p; move on with your life.
Donât try to make it work out by all means, you will end up being the person who would suffer hurt in that relationsh!pbecause his/her heart is no longer with youâŠâ The church mummy continued as if she was preaching to her.
âMummy, Iâm finding it difficult to Kenny go off my heart. Iâve tried to do so but canât, donât know what to do anymore. Iâm angry with him yet I still love him de-eply in my heart..â She explained in tears.
âI donât think you love him, because if you do, you wouldnât have sÂŁnt him that that detrimental text. You almost destroyed his marriage Jumoke.â The church mummy said, sounding serious.
âI love him mummy, the text was sÂŁnt out of anger.â Jumoke explained.
âIf you love him, then forgive him and re-lease him from your heart to marry the will of God for his life and enjoy his marriage.â The church mummy said with a commanding tone, but calmed her temper seeing that the young girl was in pain, placed her hand on Jumokeâs shoulder in a caring manner then continued with a soft tone.
âYou are finding it difficult because you have not yet made up your mind and you can never find love outside there until you re-lease Kehinde from your heart. I told you sometimes ago un-der the spirit of prophecy that God is bringing your rightful husband from afar. Jumoke you will miss your rightful man if you donât let go of Kenny .
The perfect will of God for your life may come around and you would not give him the chance because your heart is still with Kehinde. You are harming yourself Jumoke..â The church mummy spoke up pas-sionately and the crying Jumoke ran into her arms, soa-ked in her own tears.
âplea-se, pray for me. I want to let goâŠâ She cried and the church mummy hvgged her ti-ghtly and pat her back gently and allowed her to have a good cry of relief. After about twenty minutes, the church mummy held hands with her and prayed fervently with her then told her to renounce her words in the text she sÂŁnt to Kehinde in her presÂŁnce which she did willingly from the depth of her heart.
âThank you so much mummy, feel so relieved in my heart.â She thanked the church mummy over and over again. Just when she was about leaving, the Pastor c@mÂŁ back with an ebony dark young man.
âGuess who we have here!â The Pastor announced on entering the parlor and the church mummy gave an exciting scream on seeing the young man.
âMummy, donât even smile with me. I heard you were in Dallas three weeks ago but you didnât check on me.â The young man said feigning annoyance.
âAh! Mike, am sorry. It was daddy o.â The church mummy said laughing.
âI planned calling you, but he was busy rushing me to come back to Nigeria, and I had to shorten the days I planned stayingâŠâ She explained jokingly.
Jumoke stood back at a sp©t watching the handsome young man and beaming with smiles helplessly. Mike turned from the church mummy to look at the lady who was not talking and their eyes cli-cked and remained that way for the next few secondsâŠ
The church mummy and her husband exchanged glances when they noticed the chemical reaction between the two, then the Pastor cleared his throat in a very embarras-sing manner which knocked them back to the consciousness that they were with people.
âJumoke, how are you?â The Pastor asked as Mike made to take a seat.
âGood evening sir. Iâm fine sir.â She went on her knees in greeting, then continued.
âIâm sorry daddy, you were talking when you entered and I thought it wise to wait till you are done before greeting.â She explained still kneeling down and the young man kept looking at her with the corner of his eyes not knowing that the church mummy was watching him.
âAh! Comeâon, stand to your feet. Itâs nothing.â The Pastor said hurriedly with his hand demonstrating a rising action.
âEse daddy, thank you sir.â She said and stood up to her feet, then continued.
âI want to be on my way now.â She announced.
âThatâs alright. I hope mummy took good care of you?â The Pastor asked jokingly and she smiled.
âVery well sir.â She replied smiling beautifully in such a way that got Mike smiling unknowingly right where he was sitting.
âMy baby, do take care of your self.â The church mummy said cheerfully as she opened the door to leave and she responded before leaving.
âMike, why were you looking at her like that?â The church mummy jokingly asked immediately the door closed behind her.
âWas I looking at her?â The embarras-sed Mike asked and the Pastor bur-sted into a loud laugh.
âIt was so glaring, you canât deny that.â The church mummy pushed further.
âThis woman, leave my son alone jor, is looking now a sin?â The Pastor intervened seeing that Mike was feeling embarras-sed.
âI didnât even realize I was looking at her, but to be sincere with you, I felt my soul clung to hers in just a short while. I donât really un-derstand, but I think i..â He paused when he saw how the couple were looking at him.
âYou think you are what? Finish your statement my friend.â The church mummy fired at him jokingly.
âI donât like the way you two were looking at me. I mean, whatâs wrong with loving a beautiful sister? Or is she married alre-ady?â Mike spoke up with a de-ep American intonation, smiling and trying to act serious at the same time.
âNothing is wrong with loving a beautiful sister my son. And she is not married either.â The Pastor answered laughing.
âWow!â He exclaimed in atypical American crazy life.
âIâve found my wife then. You know what momma, I actually was hoping to discuss marriage stuff with you once I arrive Nigeria, but look how Godâs done it. So, tell me more about her. Whoâs she?â The excited Mike said and they both watched him laughing.
âForget about her letâs talk about something else. How is the ministry over there?â The church mummy who didnât want to take him serious said casually, waving his words aside.
âI should forget about my marriage and talk about ministry? What do you call ministry?â He asked with all seriousness.
âMean!â He bewailed then continued.
âMy marriage is p@rt of my ministry, or would you prefer i bring home a white lady?â He said and the couple exchanged glances again seeing how serious he was.
âNot at all.â The church mummy cut in,then continued.
âI thought you were not serious, because we have been begging you all these years to get married but you refused. Remember how you used to tell me p@rticularly that you want to be like apostle Paul who did not marry, so that you can serve God without distractionâŠâ The church mummy explained and Mike smiled.
âWell, thatâs in the past. God wants me to get married, He told me that my wife would be instrumental to the growth of my ministry and that of my life. He also told me you have a p@rt to pl@yin linking me to my wife. I donât know how you intends doing that but I donât think what I felt for this lady that just left here few ago is ordinaryâŠâ Mike explained carefully to the surprise of the church mummy and the Pastor.
âThatâs good to hear Mike.â The Pastor cut in excitedly.
âIâm so happy to hear this coming from you. Ah! Pastor Mike talking about marriage?â The church mummy stood up with her hands on her che-st staring at him.
âYou two should st©p looking at me that way plea-se!.â Mike covered his face in embarras-sment.
