▪▪Starr’s POV▪▪
I was shocked when Greg ki-ssed me! i mean i never expect that and i don’t even know what to feel about this. He slowly withdraw from the ki-ss.
“am sorry,” he muttered while i nodded then kept the album on a table, still confused about what’s happening! There was an awkward silence between us.
“so you mean am the girl you’ve been talking about? i asked while he nodded.
“your parents need to know about this and Laura i guess it better she get caught. How dare she try to fool us with her mother,”
“how sure are we? i mean am just so confused now,”
“but do you still remember anything? he asked tenderly holding my hands.
“yes..” i nodded. “looking at those pictures says it all but…
“it a very long time now and it’s not everything you can clearly remember. You need some rest for now,” He said
“no.. i think i have to go.. i have to leave,” i quickly said then hurriedly walked out of the room while he followed me behind. I went outside and i was surprise by the weather. They were dark clouds and it may likely rain anytime from now.
“You can’t just leave yet Princess! he said behind me.
“can you please stop calling me that,” i said a little bit angry, not even knowing why am angry.
“okay Starr! maybe you can leave after it rained,” he said. Why will it have to be now, i just need to go home and clear my head. Suddenly their was a loud sound and heavy wind. I quickly ran back in, scared of the thunder. I guess am stuck here!
“Ma’am Sarah came but quickly left some minutes ago,” i heard one of the maid telling Greg.
“she did? he asked.
“yes sir,” the maid replied.
“but why did left so soon? he said while i shrugged.
“maybe it a good thing she left because i don’t want to stay stuck with her here,” i muttered then sat down on a couch
“this your sister we’re talking about,” he said. I can’t believe all this is happening.
“breakfast is ready sir,” the maid announced before leaving.
“breakfast is ready,” he said while i sighed then stood up and followed him to dining room.
I kept staring at the places around, everywhere looks so expensive, nice and just so beautiful. I can’t believe this was the kind of life i once had before i got missing. But who could have done that to me? who actually wants a small girl dead at that time??
I sat down opposite to Greg at the dining table, i can’t believe am in his house and even eating on the same table with him. I never thought such thing will happen. Why did i even went to the club yesterday!!!
I stare at the table and was shocked by different meal that was prepared. It just too much for us to eat.
“why is there many food here? i asked.
“i don’t know your favorite so i ask the cooks to prepare as much food as they can,” he said.
“you mean all this for me?
“sure, let eat! he smiled.
I smile as i stare at the food- Reindeer sausage, meatloaf, Frito pie, fry bread tacos, fried cheese curd and lots more. I guess i will go for meatloaf.
“do you still remember your favorite when you were young? he asked while i looked at him!
“you’ve always like jelly sandwich,” he smiled. I could hear the sound of the heavy down pour from outside.
“i told you.. it gonna rain anytime soon,” he said while i nodded.
….
▪▪ I was done with the eating and i went back to the sitting room, waiting for the rain to stop so i can go home.
“it getting cold here, you can use my bedroom,” Greg said bringing me out of my thoughts.
“oh! thank you so much. You’ve done enough already,” i said
“i know that, but you have to….
Suddenly the thunder roared and i cringed… oh my! i hate this.
“and looks like you’re scared of the thunder,” he chuckle.
“yea, whenever it thunders i crawls under my bed and Laura use to laugh at me, she’s not scared of such thing and same thing whenever am with Kendrick,” i said sadly.
“i just miss those days and am scared there might not be happy days ahead,” i said while Greg sat down beside me.
“don’t think of that! aren’t you happy you’ve regain your memory and you’ll soon get to know your family? he asked.
“i don’t know what to feel about this.. but am happy because this has been my dream to know where i came from and know who truly i am!
“and Laura i guess it better we have her arrested,”
“no! you can’t do that to her, she’s still my sister and…
“we can’t take any risk again. We can’t let her go free just like that. What if she comes back to hurt you,” he said.
“i know Laura can be so stupid atimes but i don’t think she’s like her mom.. she’s can’t possibly hurt me,”
“did you just hear yourself,” Greg scoffed.
“what if we never find the truth? Laura would have still keep the truth away from you and live a better life than you and what about her mother? you told me something…? he asked..
“and why would she stabbed you?
“because she never liked me, she tried to killed me and that’s was why she ended up in a prison,” i said almost in tears. I told Greg all that happen and how Kendrick even leave me without telling me.
“that’s all that happen and that’s how i end up being alone without anyone again! i concluded in tears.
“You’re not alone and believe me they will all regret leaving you. It a good thing you now know who you are,” he said wiping away my tears with his thumb then pulled me into a hug.
“you’re not alone,” he whisper while i nodded.

Some hours Later▪▪▪
I slowly open my eyes and found myself on the bed, covered with a duvet, no wonder i felt so warm and the weather is just so good. This must be the work of Greg because i could remember sleeping on the couch. I quickly stood up and glance at the clock on the wall, it 10am already. I went close to the window and open it, staring outside and listening to the birds chirping.
The atmosphere look so cool and everywhere was quiet. All i could think of was about my parents! i can’t believe i will get to know them. This actually a dream come true but what i can’t seems to understand is why Laura is doing all that. Ever since father died, life has been the same and Laura became a changed person, i have always thought we are sisters.
I sighed then went back to the bed and sat down quietly, i picked the pictures there and stare at it for a long time. Now the worse part is that Sarah is my sister, i guess that was why her name always sound familiar to me. Why will it have to take this long for me to get back to my family, i wish Kendrick is here, he’ll be so happy about this but he left…
he left without even saying a proper goodbye, he just gave up on our love. He didn’t even think i will get hurt by what he did. I love him, i still do but i guess sometimes things don’t always go the way we plan. I wiped away the tears from my eyes and smile- This not the time to cry Starr. Nobody is worth your tears again! i said to myself. The door went open and Greg walked in already dressed up.
“you’re awake,” he smiled while i nodded.
“the maid has already prepare your bath and she’ll get you some new cloths,”
“am taking you home myself! he said.
“thank you Greg! i said while he smiled then left.
I quickly rushed and take my bath, i can’t believe am even using his bathroom now. It so large, neat and beautiful. After the bath, the maid came in with some cloths and ask me to choose.
“what about my cloths? i asked
“he asked us to trash it away,” she said while gasped.
“that’s why he ordered these for you,” the maid said while i sighed staring at the dresses, they all look so beautiful and cla-ssy, i just go for the simple blue gown.
. I quickly got dressed and went downstairs, i found Greg busy with his phone.
“you’re done! he said staring at me while i nodded.
“Starr i guess it better i take you to see your parents first,” he said while i sighed.
“i know but i just want to go home first, i need to do something,” i said while he nodded.
“it so cold outside, you can have this,” he said giving me a langely sweater, it looks really cla-ssy and expensive.
“thanks,” i smiled then collect it from him and put it on.
▪▪The drive was quiet and long, i was so lost in thoughts and i wonder if i will be accepted in my new family or not? thousand of questions was ruining throu-ghmy mind and i have no answer to it.
“we are here but am confused,” Greg said then nudge me gently. I quickly stare outside and was shocked when i saw the whole house burned down. Oh my! what happen? I quickly open the car door and rushed outside. Everything was completely down. I walked inside and as i stare at our house.. this place is attached to lots of memories but the good, the bad and the painful ones. Who could have done this?
“what just happen here? Greg asked and i could tell he was also surprise. I went to my room and stare at it in tears.
“Starr, we need to get out of here,” Greg said.
“this the only place i know as my home, who could have burn this down? I cried then walked outside, some of my neighbors came and i asked them what actually happen.
“we thought you were in the house.. ” one of the woman said.
“we just woke up this morning and found out the house has completely burned down,” they explained
“it a good thing you’re not in a house and i think whoever did this wanted to get rid of you,” one of the man said. Who on earth want me dead again?
…I sat down in the car next to Greg and cried. What if i actually slept in the house yesterday i would have been a dead person by now, maybe it was a good thing i went to the club.
“i told you Starr, this place is not safe for you. Now that things are going so bad, am glad you’ve finally know your parents at least you’ll have your family beside you, to protect you,” he said.
“am taking you to them Starr, it time for the whole truth to reveal itself because your mother will be so happy to know you,” he said while i nodded.
