what’s the idea? Starr asked.
“is it about something that will make me regain my memory? she asked curiously
“it simple, you will just tell dad! am sure he’ll help, he might take you to visit the doctor again,” Laura said while Starr looked disappointed.
“i don’t think that will work,”
“what will work? aren’t you going for school? Arnold asked as he walked up to them.
“of course we’ll dad, but please can you take us to see mom after school? Starr asked while he stare at her.
“she’s the same woman who wanted to killed you, that was an attempt murder you know. I don’t want her to ever set her eyes on you,” Arnold said.
“please Dad, i insist. Laura want to see her mom too, it won’t take long and we won’t bother you again,” Starr pleaded while Arnold stare at her.
“okay then i guess i should try this,” Starr said with a smile while Arnold smiled seeing her smile, she has this killer smile that could melt any broken heart.
“okay then, Laura i know you ask Starr to plead with me but you don’t have to do that, am just scare Kate might hurt you again. But if you insist, after school we’ll go visit her,” Arnold said while Laura hug-ged him.
“thank you papa,” she said smiled.
“but papa, i also want you to help Starr regain her memory,” Laura said.
“huh! but what? what happen? he asked looking at Starr.
“nothing, am just worried and so curious i guess,” Starr said.
“we looked everywhere we can to search for your real parents but seems no one knows you and the doctor said you might gradually remember a thing from the past with time. Am sorry Starr but all this will cost me so much money,
am sure you know am a single father now and all i want now is to see you two educated, i want you to focus in your studies. The ne-cklace you have was the only thing from your past, am very sure of that,” Arnold said while Starr nodded.
“thank you so much dad, am happy staying here, especially with a good father like you. I guess i have no option than to keep the ne-cklace safe and i know when the right time comes the truth will actually reveal itself someday,” Starr said.
“but don’t worry Starr, i will see what i can do,” he said.
Later in the evening…?
Arnold was at the police station with the two girls, they sat down opposite to Kate who was staring at Starr angrily.
“she’s just a kid Kate, don’t give her that hateful look,” Arnold said while she glare at him.
“i thought i will never see you, you’re no longer my husband. So what are you doing here? she asked.
“i never wanted to come here but they kids insist so i have to bring them here. Kate am doing all this for Laura and Star,” Arnold said.
“hi mom… am sorry for what happen. I know what you did to me wasn’t intentional, i feel so guilty whenever i see Laura alone without you by her side as a mother, i shouldn’t have come into your lives in the first place,” Starr said in a cracking voice.
“am sorry,” she apologies while Arnold was surprise hearing that from her.
“sorry for what Starr? Arnold asked while Starr kept quiet.
“Kate should be the one to apologies for that,” he scoffed.
“Laura dear, i miss you so much. I wish i could get out of here. The punishment is just too much for me. Is not as if i killed Starr, i only stabbed her! so why i am even stuck here for fifteen years,” Kate said in tears while Laura stood up and walked towards her.
” miss you too mom,” she said sadly.
“i guess you still don’t know why you are here, you already have fourteen more years left and the reason why your punishment was worse is because i have to re-open the case of yours that was closed years ago. Don’t you still remember the horrible things you did? you have lots of criminal record,” Arnold said then stood up.
“girls, it getting dark we have to go home now,” he said while Starr stood up too.
“don’t worry Laura, once am out of here i will make sure i get rid of our enemies,” she said staring evilly at Starr and Arnold.
“but mom, Starr is a good kid, we are getting alone and it really nice having a sister you know. I feel so happy being with her,” Laura said while Kate rolled her eyes.
“are you even calling her your sister? she asked disgustingly.
“yes mother,” Laura replied.
“enough of your manipulations Kate,” Arnold yelled at her then pulled Laura away from her.
“your mom is perfectly doing fine here, we have to leave now,” Arnold said to her while she nodded in tears and they walked away. Kate felt so angry seeing how Arnold was controlling her daughter, so she thought!
“how dare he act like the good father… Arnold- once am out of here! you’ll be the second person i will kill with my b-are hands,” she gritted her teeth in anger, feeling so frustrated.
▪▪▪Starr and Kendrick sat down on the gra-ss, staring at the moonlight. Laura was inside the house fast asleep while Arnold wasn’t home yet, by all means he needed to make money to cater for the kids.
“i and Laura visit mom,” Starr said.
“you did? not after what she did to you? Kendrick asked.
“that was all in the past, am perfectly fine. Am not angry with her, i forgave her! all i need is her forgiveness too,” Star said sadly while Kendrick burst out laughing.
“huh? did i say something funny? why are you laughing? she asked.
“all you need is her forgiveness? what did you do to her? he asked.
“i don’t know, she never liked me. I just want her to love me like a mother should do for her child,”
“i guess we are both in the same shoes. My mom is also gone and i guess i will never experience that love of a mother,” Kendrick said.
“too bad for us… that why am determined to read ha-rd to help dad when i grow up and also when i become rich maybe their’s a hope of me finding my family,” Starr said with a little smile revealing her dimples.
“and how do you intend to do that? Kendrick asked.
“i don’t know but with help of this ne-cklace,” Starr said pointing at the ne-cklace on her ne-ck.
“i don’t even now if i have a family but i have a feeling someone is missing me. Anyway, i have to accept what life offers to me, i have to accept the twist of fate, one thing am certain is that their’s always a light at the end of every tunnel,” she said while Kendrick pulled her cheek playfully.
“look who’s talking now! if you weren’t missing am sure we wouldn’t have crossed the same paths! but now we are together,” he said with a smile.
“together forever and best friends forever too,” Starr said happily while Kendrick giggle…. ?
weeks Later….✨
Erica smiled widely when she saw the news about Leon death in TV. She actually hire some investigators to hunt Leon down and he was found at Los Angeles where he was killed, but they made it looked like an accident.
“am sure you’ve enjoyed the whole money you stole from me! you son of a bitc-h, rest well in hell Leon,” she laughed as she went to the wine bar and get herself a glas-sof wine to celebrate.
“i will kill anyone who tries to get on my way,” she smirk feeling so satisfied with the good job her men did, they indeed prove to her how competent and loyal they are.
Sarah smiled then step out of the car, she was glad she’s now in her father’s mansion, it been a while since she came here.
“daddy,” she yelled happily and rushed to hug-ged him.
“i miss you dad,” she smiled.
“of course i miss you too. How have you been and your mother too? he asked.
“she’s fine dad,” she replied as they talked in to the sitting room.
“Sarah,” Mabel said cheerfully while Sarah rushed and hug-ged her too.
“mom Mabel, i miss you, i miss this house,” she said while Mabel smiled.
“hey Sarah, aren’t you happy to see me too? Tony asked while Mabel smiled.
“i don’t think so! but hi,” she said while Tony just nodded.
“and guess who is here? Edward asked.
“who? is it Princess? have you find her? Sarah asked curiously.
“it me Sarah i came alone with my dad,” Greg said as he walked in.
“you just made my day, am happy you’re here,” she smiled.
“hey Tony” Greg smiled when he saw him.
“glad you came,” Tony smiled back.
“okay kids, dinner is ready,” Edward announced while they all giggle.
Everyone settle at the dining table including Amelia who was happy seeing the kids eating happily. Edward and Jones start up a little chats while Mabel was quiet as she stare at Sarah, Tony and Greg, they looked so happy and she wished princess was here as well, it just brou-ght back some memories.
“are you okay Mabel? Amelia asked tapping her lightly.
“sure.. i just wish Princess is here,” she said sadly while Edward looked at her and Sarah’s mood seems to change.
“let enjoy the moments please,” she said with a faux smile.
“and this was Princess favorite,” Sarah said sadly staring the meal in front of her.
“will Princess ever come back to us? i miss her so much, her smiles, her beautiful dimples and her laughter’s. Will she ever come back? Greg asked while everyone was quiet.
“yes she will. Princess will come back sooner or later! am certain about that,” Mabel said tearfully as she stood up, then hurriedly left. The whole thing was making her so emotional! it been a year and she still can’t seems to forget her daughter. Princess was the other half of her and she felt she will never be complete without her Princess.?

Starr’s POV?

I slowly open my eyes, my head was aching so bad. I remembered what happen last night, then sighed! i don’t even want to remember it. I quickly get down from bed leaving Laura who was sleeping like a log of wood.
“good morning dad,” i said then sat down on the couch at the sitting room.
“good morning dear, where’s Laura? he asked.
“sleeping,” i replied sadly.
“am sorry about what happen yesterday,” he said.
“it okay dad, am fine,” i said with a faux smile then walked outside, the fresh breeze was all over my skin and i felt so relief. I quickly picked up my phone and called Kendrick but he wasn’t picking up my calls, he seems mad at me yesterday but it wasn’t my fault! i was just too emotional and sad. I quickly dressed up because i need to see Kendrick, i don’t want him to stay mad at me all day, i love him so much and i know he feels the same way, let just fix this.
“Starr… where are you going to? Laura asked.
“oh! you are awake Laura. Well am going to see Ken but i have to get something from the grocery sto-re,” i said then quickly rushed out.
I was done shopping at the grocery and i was in a haste to go home when i bumped into someone, or should i say he bumped into me because he was on call, he was busy smiling and blabbing all these lovey and dovey things on phone when he bumped into me, making my bag to fall and at the same time his phone also fall on the ground.
“what the heck! i yelled as i stare at the bag and the things inside were a mess! i quickly raise my head to look at the jerk.
“how dare you.. i mean! look at what you did to my things,” i said a little bit angry.
“and looked at what you did to my phone,” he said pointing at the cracked screen phone. The phone look so new and expensive, i guess it was due to the fall it obtained a cracked screen.
“it your fault, next time you should be careful and stop taking calls while walking,” i snapped.
“you know, you should be the one to apologies and stop ranting nonsense,” he said while i stare at him one more time, he looks so handsome thou! but not as handsome as my Kendrick, but why do i feel like I’ve known him somewhere…. he seems so familiar… who is he..??
