Alicia ran her eyes around looking for a possible solution to their problem.
“Unnie. I’m sorry for bothering you but can you help me out? Alicia whispered
“What’s that?” Lizzy asked
“The memory card. Can you help me get it? I really nee-d itā
“Wait. Just wait. So, What if I get it. You’re gonna get my sister arrested?”
“Yeah?”
“What? Yeah? Yes. I don’t like my sister but I can’t watch her get dragged out from the church premises by the cops. Think about my family pride!!”
“Unnie. I un-derstand you, I really un-derstand what what you are saying”
“I’m not gonna do anything. I’m sorry but you guys have to find another solution to your problem. It’s not me! I can’t do it!!” Lizzy stood up.
“Wait! Unnie. Let’s talk in pri-vate outside?” Alicia pleaded.
“Okay. Meet me outside then” Lizzy replied coldly. Alicia sighed and followed her from behind.
“What’s it about? Are you here to convince me. Forget it, Because you are just gonna waste your precious tiā
“No. I’m not gonna convince you” Alicia interrupted staring into her eyes
“So, What else do you wanna talk about? Advice me? Huh?”
“No. I just want to give you an option” Alicia eyes were red. She sniffed loudly trying to tuck in her tears.
“What? Options? How dare youā
“Option A…. Find the memory card and bring it to the cops. Option B…. Be like your sister”
“Wh….What?” Lizzy stuttered, twitching her eyes.
“Your sister isn’t what you think she is. I hope you know what you’re doing. Who knows, You might live the normal life you wished for. And also, You’re gonna be a hero, not just me. Unnie, I’ve done my p@rt. I hope you pl@yyours” Alicia said quietly, and calmly and walked away without bothering to hear more from Elizabeth.
On the other hand, Elizabeth was lost alre-ady. She kept staring in open space. She couldn’t find her voice. Her eye lids refused to give up. A tear ran out of her eyes. She wiped it with the back of her palm and walked away as well, slowly.
***(LIZZY & DEBORAH’S ROOM/CHURCH)***
Lizzy wasn’t herself anymore. She was anxious. Her mind wasn’t at rest. She could ba-rely even sit down. She walked to and fro in the room. She sighed de-eply and stared at the cross in the open wall.
“I hope I’m doing the right thing” She whispered to herself.
“God, plea-se. Don’t let me regret my actions” She whispered again. Her eyes went down to the cu-pboard.
She had a slight shiver, but inhaled de-eply trying to cool off. She quic-kly ran to the door, opened it and looked side to side. She nodded her head, satisfied after seeing the coast was clear. She ran back to the cu-pboard, opened it and there, she saw Deborah’s bible and hymn book laying comfortably side by side.
Elizabeth opened the Bible, running throu-gh pages and pages. But she couldn’t find anything. She frowned her face disappointed. She quic-kly gr@bbĀ£d the hymn book, opened it as well moving it’s pages but it wasn’t there!
Again!! Did she miss it or what? Or probably, Alicia wasn’t right after all!.
Elizabeth scoffed loudly, with anger. As she took the Bible and Hymn book, she noticed something. She slowly looked at the floor and there, was a small black thing! What? Yes! It was it! The Memory Card!. Seemed it fell out of one of the books, Probably the Hymn Book since she didn’t notice it earlier. At least, She had little respect for the Holy Book!.
She was so surprised, and was almost trying to scream in excitement but she held her mouth which stopped her. She took the memory card quic-kly and kept in her brĀ£@stpocket.
She kept the books back and closed the cu-pboard. Immediately, She did so, The door flunged opened. It was Deborah. She was back! She didn’t even make any sound when she walked in.
“What are you doing there?” Deborah asked staring at her coldly.
“Huh? What do you mean?” Elizabeth asked, swallowing ha-rd due to fear.
“Why are you close to my cu-pboard?” Deborah questioned in a low harsh voice.
“What do you mean? Huh…Can’t I come close to it? Are… we not sisters?” Elizabeth answered in a stutter.
“I’m not stupid! You never go there! The only things in there doesn’t bother you since you aren’t a born again Christian!”
“What? Darn it. What’s bad about it! Don’t be so full of yourself, Stupid!”
“What? Stupid??… May God forgive you!”
“And may he forgives you too! And also this was what I wanted to take” Lizzy yelled showing her a black head scarf.
“Oh. Yeah, We hang our head scarves, close to my cu-pboard” Deborah agreed. Elizabeth sighed in relief.
“But where are you off to with the scarf?” Deborah threw the question, which gave Lizzy chills.
“Wh… What? What do you mean? I’m off to the church” She answered stuttering.
“But church service has ended since?”
“I’m still going. At least, The church isn’t closed. I’m going to pray to devote my life as a Christian. A born again Christian” She sm-irked leaving. Deborah watched her leave, in little annoyance.
“Unnie… Ouch, I’ve never called you that before. But this is the last time I might call you that. Anyways, I advise you to be more prayerful. You aren’t effective these days” Lizzy said, as a sharp mischievous smile ran down to the corner of herl-ips.
She gave a slight chuckle and left immediately. “Huff! Damn it! That was a close call!” She whispered as she left the scene.
********(THE NEXT DAY, MONDAY)*******
“Where’s Alicia?” Lizzy asked Collins breathing heavily. She ran all the way from the church down to Lynn’s Restaurant.
“Oh. She is still in. Why did you bother running when you are early. But still, It’s a relief you c@mĀ£ on time. Alicia is getting re-ady for school” Collins smiled. Lizzy smiled back and brushed her hair to her ear.
“Just call her, alre-ady” Lizzy said.
“Oh. Oh. Hold on, It’s just I can’t stop staring at your add!Ƨtive adorable face” Collins whispered in a thick smile. Elizabeth blu-shed and pushed Collins slightly.
“Go alre-ady” She giggled. Collins turned to leave. However, Alicia was alre-ady there staring at them giving an irritating look.
“Why are you guys being so cheesy this early morning?āAlicia paused and looked at them, cleared her throat and adjusted her bag stra-p against her shoulders.
“Unnie? You wanted to see me?” She finally asked. Lizzy smiled and nodded.
“Seeing you smile. Its seems it good news” Alicia chuckled. Lizzy kept smiling, She walked to Alicia and opened her purse. She brou-ght out a piece of paper and handled it to her.
“It’s in there. The evidence” Lizzy said
“The memory card?”
“Yeah”
“Thank you, Unnie for not failing me”
“No. I didn’t fail you. I just happened to choose Option B”
“You’re funny, Unnie” Alicia laughed. Lizzy also joined in the laughter.
“I’m gonna keep this well, Thank you once again” Alicia said
“You’re welcome. So, Where’s Alexa?”
“She’s dressing. You might want to knock before you go in. She is wearing her bandage against her brea-sts” Alicia whispered. Lizzy chuckled, nodded and walked to the Alexa’s door. She knocked waiting for a reply.
“Come in, if you aren’t a stranger!” Alexa exclaimed
“Aiish! Who’s the annoying friend, huh?” Lizzy asked laughing. Alexa laughed as she combe-d her hair.
“Welcome Lizzy”
“There’s no nee-d for the welcome, you’ve alre-ady given me a cold shoulder” Lizzy retorted laughing. She sat down on the be-d and stared at the fan which rotated slowly.
“I’ve missed Flora” Lizzy ch!pped in
“Me too. Me too” Alexa whispered turning to Lizzy.
“You’d better come quic-k!” Lizzy yelled. Alexa smiled and looked at the hvge mirror.
“Lizzy? I’m gonna tell him soon” Alexa whispered
“What? Who?”
“Ethan. I’m gonna tell him I’m a girl. Firstly, I nee-d to start growing my hairā
“What? Seriously? When?”
“After I check my examination result”
“Oh..How do you think he might feel if you confess your actual gender to him?”
“I don’t know. I just have to wait and see”
“Well. I wish you all the best, Gurl!”
“Thank you”
“So? When are the results coming out?”
“Very soon. Rumoured to be posted online next week”
“Oh wow. Alexa, Fighting!!”
“Thank you! Fighting!!!” Alexa gushed as they both laughed.
š¹~~ Few days later, An Arrest warrant was finally issued after seeing the big time Evidence!. The police offers arrested Deborah without any second thoughts. Laura was re-leased from jail, after recognizing Deborah’s face as the lady.
Of course, It was a big disgrace, Shame!. Embarras-sment! It took everyone by shock. They could even ha-rd ly believe. Due to this, The Joseph’s Family resigned and lived else where but still in Seoul, Korea. They tried to live and adjust to their new lives. They finally supported Elizabeth’ dreams. At least, She wasn’t the black sheep.
Elizabeth decided to push throu-gh by going on auditions and singing competitions. While they all patiently waited for the final judgment. Deborah’s Trial.
******(A WEEK LATER)*****
Finally, It was the day. Alexa inhaled de-eply, interlocked her f!ngerstogether and closed her eyes. She made a short prayer.
She opened her eyes and scratched her grown hair nervously. She always wore cap or head warmers to the Guys place since her hair was growing longer, and fas-ter!. She was really afraid and anxious to see her results. She slowly took her phone and went to the Search Engine. She typed the link and it loaded quic-kly. She saw an empty column asking for her mail and entrance pas-sword. She sighed de-eply as she filled it. She cli-cked āLog inā and it began to load, but this time… Very slowly.
Meanwhile, Her family were outside in the restaurant. They were also restless. Elizabeth wasn’t exceptional. She kept praying for Alexa. The Skyy Boys Band were included too. There was pure silence in their room that day. They also prayed in their hearts.
š¹ Finally, it loaded!. Alexa’s eyes ran throu-gh the results written on the phone screen.
“No…
“Not again” She whispered as her heart beat increa-sed fas-ter.
Now getting back to the phone screen was boldly written,
