Taking a long de-ep breathe, she decked her phone aside and coll@psed tiredly on the be-d.
This is it! It’s done. No going back.
What she has always wanted.
No one has to know about this. No one will know about this. She’ll make sure of that.
With things this way, she’ll be safe and no one will find out about anything. Not even her friend, Nora who is weeks gone with pregnancy and also planning for her wedding with Oscar.
Even if I hate to admit this, it still can’t be hidden. They fit each other. Oscar and Nora. And I’m really happy for them. Finally, she got the happiness eh has always wanted.
But that is majorly the least of my problem now. It’s saddening that most of these days, I still wallow myself in pity.
It hurts. Just thinking of the magnitude of things I lost within the space if months. It disheartens me.
And that’s why I resolved to a plan which Is alre-ady in motion.
Every action I take, every decision I make it’s from the bitterness of my past. I really don’t care who my action affects. Be it Nora or anyb©dy.
Whatever decision I make, it’s for the best. And it’ll only make me feel better.

“Kids, come out for lunch!!” I shouted from the kitchen.
I just finished ma-king lunch. It’s past 2pm and I want them to eat something before taking a nap.
“Janie… Kayla? Noel?” I called again but got no response.
I pu-ll-ed off my cooking material, washed my face and hands in the washing basin and walked out.
“Don’t tell me you guys are alre-ady having nap. You know you haven’t taken lunch” I drawled out. Getting to the sitting, no one was there too.
I walked over to their rooms and still, no one was there.
What are they up yo this time?
*I arched*
Maybe they are outside, pla-ying.
I sighed out and slowly c@m£ out. I shut my eyes first cause the reflection of the sun rays on my eyes were harsh.
“Janietta? Noel?* I called out. Slowly opening my eyes as it gradually adjusted to the light.
“Come out now. Lunch is re-ady!!” I took slow steps towards the back of the house leading to the pool.
Getting very close to the pool side, I began to have strange feelings again. Strange negative feelings. As wave of memories c@m£ hitting me ha-rd . The accident.
I was gradually developing a phobia.
The accident that almost took my life.
I quic-kly looked away from the pool and focused on my search for the kids.
“Kids… Com–
“Yay!! I found Nanny Rosie!!” Kayla’s voice startled me as she jumped from her hide out.
My heart summersaulted from the shock she gave me. Jeez! She scared the hell outta me!
“What are you doing here? Where have you been?” I asked. Trying to stabilize myself and also catch my breath.
“Hide and seek. it’s my turn to find Noel and Janietta. But luckily, I found you” she replied excitedly.
What’s so exciting about this? The fact that she almost gave me heart attack or what?
“You know what, let’s just go inside. Lunch is re-ady” I breath down
“Okay. Carry me up” she wi-de spre-ad her hand before me. I rolled my eyes and Carried her into my arms.
“Call the others out. Game over” I said to her
“KK. Janietta , Noel come out now. I quit it’s lunch time”
“You quit so soon?…”
“I told you guys she won’t keep up!”
The two of them suddenly ran out from their hiding places.
“Lunch is re-ady. And plea-se guys don’t scare me like this ever again. I almost had a heart attack!” I stated clearly to their faces and they nodded affirmatively.
Jeez! They shouldn’t Try this again. I got really scared.
I carried kayla towards the door entrance.
Though everywhere was silent and I was obviously away from the pool side, I still had this strange disturbing feeling.
Everywhere queit like everyother noon. But this was different. I felt a pres£nce. A familiar pres£nce. Like someone was watching me.
I stood still for some seconds, averted my attention. Just gazing everywhere.
“Is something wrong Nanny Rosie?” Kayla asked. j£rking me off my thoughts.
“Not at all baby” I answered.y eyes still searching everywhere.
“Let’s go in alre-ady. I’m so hungry”
“Alright baby” I Breathe out.
Maybe it’s just my head pla-ying tricks with me. Or my mind hallucinating due to how tired and weak I’m feeling.
I decided to shove it off as I carried Kayla into the house. Shutting the door behind.

Mr Robinson, the head doctor in the hospital patiently waited in his office for the arrival of a fellow doctor Mr Andrew whom he consulted for an emergency.
David’s deadline still ringing a bell on his head. Nothing should Happen to Ana’s mom. No matter what.
The substance inside her system is something he hasn’t seen or experienced before. This substance is slowly eating up her system. That’s why her condition us deteriorating.
He can’t possibly work on this Alone and he can’t also risk loosing Ana’s mom. Not when David is involved. And that’s why he made a call to a fellow doctor,Mr Andrew for his as-sistance.
He is good in this aspect. Maybe he can help. Hopefully, he’ll help him out of this mess.
But what still bothers him de-eply is who the hell injected this into her system? And how did the person gain access into her ward.

I strolled out of my room later that day. The kids alre-ady had lunch and are still having nap. It’s few minutes past four in the evening and I’m just waking up.
I feel better now. A bit relieved and my mind a little muddled on my mom’s condition. The more I think of my mom’s ailment, the more sick I feel. That’s why I just want to keep my mind off it for the moment. Since David told me the doctor confirmed her to be okay.
I walked into Junior’s room and found him awake and pla-ying with his toys on the be-d. He’s awake.
The moment his eyes met me, he flashed me a smile with his little set of incomplete teeth.
“What’s up ju-ju” I smiled calling him by his baby name.
He said some gibberish which I acted like I un-derstood.
I walked closer to his be-d. He attem-pted to stand upright but his attempt failed as he fell back on the be-d.
Yes. He can stand but with the aid of standing item. He can even take small steps with the aid of something or someone too.
Very soon, he’ll be running round the house.
I smiled again at his attempt to walk up to me, but he ended up falling down.
With each small fall, he’d laugh at himself.
He’s just so cute yunno. He looks so much like his Papa. David.
David is a really blessed young man. He’s blessed with four beautiful smart kids. Gosh! This is just a perfect family.
The father to children relationsh!pis just magic. Not every family has that.
I mean, God blessed him financially to train his kids and they are doing so well. Unlike me. You know, not everyb©dy’s tale tell same. Mine is the other way round and totally different.
There was a sudden knock on the door which drifted my attention from my thoughts.
Hmm. Who’s that now? I gro-an ed ha-rd . Feeling too weak to get up.
David doesn’t return home by this time, even if he does he won’t certainly knock cause he’s got his own key.

“I’ll be right back junior” I k!$$£d his hair and he gave me a wi-de smile. Saying his gibberish yet again which obviously I didn’t un-derstand.
I walked out of Junior’s room to get the door.

“Thank goodness you’re here” Mr Robinson shook Doctor Andrew firmly the moment they made contact.
“You said it was urgent. I couldn’t miss out. Had to cancel some appointments” Andrew retorted.
“Thank you. And yes, it’s urgent. There’s a patient in my custody which I’d like to show you. Her situation is strange and critical I can’t really diagnose her ailment. She was injected with a foreign substance which I can’t identify. And as it is…
“Uhm. Why don’t you show me to the patient. The case is really serious” Doctor Andrew cut into Doctor Robinson’s words.
“Sure thing. Come with me”
Doctor Robinson led the way to the ward. Where doctor Andrew got to examine the patient for few minutes.
“Her case is strange I must admit. Whoever injected this into her system must be really good with drugs. Or must certainly have a great source that makes such. Cause this is really something I can’t easily decipher”
“Exactly my point. That’s why I called you here. I really nee-d your help. The young man is on my n£¢k. I don’t want anything to go wrong cause I’m scared if what he might do.”
“You won’t lose her don’t worry. With time, we’ll help her out of this. But the problem is, the longer the substance dwells inside of her, the fas-ter it damages her immune system and also weakens her heart and it…
“It’ll increase her chances of death.” Dr Robinson finished up for him. Just like he had thought.
“I fear so. But whoever did this certainly has the cure/answer to all this problem”
“Who is it then?”
This question kept ringing like a bell on doctor Robinson’s head as it rendered him speechless.

” So none of you can tell me where your Nanny went to?” David stared blankly at his kids who looked numb.
“I swear dad. We woke up from nap to meet the house empty. We haven’t la-id our eyes on her since noon” janietta spoke out.
David paced to and fro as he ran his f!ngersthrou-gh his hair. He c@m£ back home to meet the door open and No Rosiana.
He’s been worried sick. He can’t even Breathe well. There’s no Ana.
He tried her number but strange enough, her phone is in the house.
It’s past eight and still she isn’t back.

Where can he start looking for her?
She’s never leave the house without her phone or without ringing him. Besides, she has never stayed this long outside. She ha-rd ly goes out.
He has visited the hospital alre-ady to check if she’s there but she was never there.
He has her mom’s case to resolve and now this?

“Daddy is everything okay? Where is Nanny Rosie??” Kayla asked.
She really doesn’t know what’s going on.
David stared at her and didn’t know how to reply her.
