“Boss I want to quit my job” Henry said as I took my pen to sign the docu-ments he had brou-ght in.
“Why? ” I asked dropping the pen and looked at him.
“I’ll be leaving the country soon and I wouldn’t be back for a very long time” he said and I breathe out.
“Henry, If you nee-d a vacation you can tell… I will willing grant it, why wanting to quit” I said and he nodded.
“Boss this isn’t about having a vacation, it’s about fixing my life” he said and I nodded.
“I’ll give you a vacation on any duration you want but quitting your job isn’t the solution ” I said and he nodded.
“Thank you boss but don’t complain I stayed too long” he said and I smiled.
“By the way, where are you planning on going ?” I asked and my phone began ringing.
“I.I… ” he said and I stopped him to answer the phone.
“Hello” I said without knowing who the caller was.
“Hello Ronnie ” he said responding .
“Who’s it? ” I asked.
“It’s me Kendall, I’ll like ours to meet” he said and I nodded.
“Yes let’s meet ” I said and he chuckled.
“I’ll text you the location, come meet me alone and no tricks” he said and I nodded.
“I’m on my way, it better we end everything now ” I said and dropped everything I was doing.
“You’ve got eight minutes to reach here, if not I’ll harm Mandy ” he said just after texting the place we are to meet.
“Mandy??? ” I asked as fear crabbed me….
“Boss where are going ? ” Henry asked just after I dropped the call and prepared to leave the office.
“I’m going to see Kendall, I’ll be right back ” I said and he nodded.
“Boss don’t you think you should go with the police ” he suggested.
“No, there’s no nee-d… it’s good we settle this man to man” I said and walked out of the office.
I took my car and drove immediately to the location he had texted.
When I got there no one was around the area, it seems to be an isolated place.
“Kendall, I’m here where are you? ” I asked looking around.
“Ken…dall ” I called still looking around and moving in front.
“Kendall you said no tricks ” I said and a door of the warehouse suddenly opened.
I walked toward it and entered inside then the door closed up with me staying inside.
“Kendall where are you? ” I asked trying to see if I could open the door back.
“I’m right here with you” he said and I turned around but couldn’t find him anywhere.
“Where… where” I asked in fear and he laughed.
“Ronnie welcome to my humble aboard ” he said and temperature degreed to a certain level than I started feeling cold.
“How does it feel” he said as I rapped my arms around my che-st.
“Kendall what did you do?… why do I feel so cold? ” I asked but he just laughed.
“I want you to feel the opposite of how I always feel when I go out there ” he said and chuckled.
“Kendall, why hide behind cameras? ” I questioned.
“You will be there still you freeze to dead” he said and laughed.
I felt the level of temperature was still degrading and the cold was increasing to such a level my body could not contain it.
❄ MANDY ROSE ?
“Hello Henry ” I called…
“Yes miss Mandy” he responded.
“What happened to Ronnie, why can’t I reach him on phone? ” I asked.
“Boss just went out to meet with Kendall, he looked really furious when he left. I’m afraid something may go wrong between the two of them” he said.
“What?… Ronnie went after Kendall… why didn’t you go with him? ” I asked feeling scared of what could happen to Ronnie.
“He stopped me from going there with him” he said.
“Send me the location and call the cops” I said and he nodded.
“He didn’t tell me where they were going to meet, he just left ” he said and I nodded.
“Check out Kendall’s building in the city and report back to me” I said and he nodded.
“Ok” he said and I waited for a while before he returned back on the phone.
“Kendall has two buildings, one is a mansion and the other is an ice block warehouse but I wander what he is doing with an Ice block house” he said and I nodded.
I suddenly remembered the times that I met Kendall, he always complained of feeling heat.
“You and the cops should go to the mansion and check if they are there while I’ll go to the warehouse ” I said and he nodded.
Immediately I dropped the call, I left the company to the warehouse.
? KENDALL ?
“Ronnie ” miss Mandy called as she appeared on my screen.
“This is getting interesting” I said and watched her as she looked around just as Ronnie did.
Ronnie had tired every possible way to get out but he didn’t find any way out even with all the boxes parked in there.
“Ronnie, where are you” Mandy called reaching the warehouse door and I opened it for her.
Immediately she walked in to the warehouse I closed the door and watch the both of them throu-ghmy computer.
“Ronnie where are you? ” Mandy asked feeling the cold and Ronnie who was sitting down in a hidden corner answered.
“Ronnie what happened, why is it so cold in here? ” Mandy asked holding Ronnie’s hand and I smiled.
“Why are you here? ” He asked removing his Jacket.
“I’m here for you, I’ll look for a way out… you are freezing ” she said and looked around.
“There’s no way out, take my jacket it’s too cold in here” he said and she held him into her arms.
“It’s going to be okay, Ronnie hold on… Henry going to be here soon” she said and I chuckled.
“Where’s Kendall? ” she asked.
“He’s up there watching throu-ghthose cameras ” he said and she looked up at the camera.
“Kendall why hide there, come out” she said and I smi-rked..
“I just want to watch some couple freeze to death. Isn’t it amazing, him giving you his jacket even at the point of death” I said and laughed at them.
“Kendall, why don’t you leave Momo out of this and come out here” Ronnie said breathing so heavily.
“OK ” I said and turn off the computer and head down to the sto-re room.
I open the door and walked to where the both of them were holding each other.
“what?.. here I am, what can you do? ” I asked and Mandy tried standing up.
“What do you think you’re doing? ” I asked as she continued to stand up.
“Your bodies are very weak right now, even with the door open you can’t run out” I said and Mandy crab me on the leg.
“Let go off me” I said and pulled her off and Ronnie jumped up at me while Mandy held me on the che-st.
“Let go off me” I said trying to pull them off me, even with thier body they were still trying to over power me.
I punched Ronnie on the face and he tried fighting back. we both started fighting and Mandy also get involved.
“Momo watch out” Ronnie shouted as some boxes fell to the ground and one hit Mandy on the head.
“Opps” I said as Ronnie left me and headed toward Mandy.
I immediately turn to run out but Henry walked in with some cops holding guns.
“Stop there” One of the cops shouted and I raised my hands up.
“I didn’t do that, I didn’t push her” I said as Ronnie cried out while holding Mandy.
“I’m not responsible for that, she fell on her own ” I said as the cops arrested me and Ronnie also pas-sed out due to the cold.

“Momo, Momo… ” Ronnie called immediately he woke up.
“Ronnie calm down” I said trying to hold me.
“Where’s Momo, I want to see Momo” he requested trying to get off from the bed.
“calm down, Mandy is alright” I said and he nodded and calmed himself.
“I want to see her” he requested and I nodded.
“I’ll take you to see her but first you should eat something” I said and showed him the food.
He ate it as fast as he could just so I could take him to see Mandy.
“Drink some water ” I said and he drank it and Henry walked in.
“Boss you’re awake ” he said and Ronnie looked at him without a word.
“Take me to see Momo” he said and we both nodded.
I walked him to the room where Momo was admitted.
“Momo” he called as he saw her lying down. Naomi moved away for him to sit.
“Mandy is still unconscious, the doctor said she is alright but we don’t know when she will wake up” I said and he held her.
“Momo I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have gotten you involved in my mess” he said as he cried out.
He bent his head as he held Momo while we all decided to walk out and let me be with her.
“I pray Mandy recovers fas-ter” I said and looked at Henry who held Naomi . story written by Wilson libr@ry.
• THREE DAYS LATER •
“Why do you want us to meet here? ” Ronnie asked as he sat down.
“Here is your photo album ” I said showing him a book.
“Common this is not complete, wait after the wedding ” he said and I nodded.
“Did you think I wanted to give you these. I just want you to see them and return it back to me” I said and he chuckled.
“What are you two talking about? “Mandy asked as she walked in and sat in between us.
“We were just having a boys talk” I said and he chuckled
“So what’s the occasion? ” Mandy asked looking at me.
“I just want to congratulate you both on your wedding and for a happy friendship” I said and raise a glas-s of wine for a toast.
“Amen” Ronnie said not letting Mandy drink any alcoholic.
“Wait, what at first never made you two talk to each other? ” she asked and I looked at Ronnie.
‘Why look at me, asked Ronnie ” I said as she stared at me.
“Ronnie ” she said and turned to him.
“He should tell you, it was his fault, he caused it” he said and I looked away immediately Mandy turned to ask me again..
“Ronnie, Michelle ” she called and we both answered with a smile on our faces.
“Michelle ate all my cake” he said smiling at Mandy.
“But I never knew you still wanted to eat that cake” I responded.
“Do you know how precious that cake was to me” he said and I smi-rked.
“And do you know how hungry I was on that day? ” I asked.
“You two should stop, I can’t believe you two never talked for over a year just because of a fight you had over a cake” she said and I smi-rked.
“It was your fault Michelle ” he said..
“How is it my fault, you never expected me to get back from school and don’t eat something” I said and just when Ronnie tried to talk back Mandy stopped him.
“You should stop quarrelling, it’s okay… I asked the question so you two should end it” she said and we both chuckled.
“Look at the expression on her face when she thinks we are quarrelling” Ronnie said and I laughed.
“You two are joking with me, how I wish Rodriguez was here” she said and I remained silent.
“Michelle, I heard you found someone, so tell me who is she? ” Ronnie asked and I just smiled at him and drank from my glas-s of wine.
“Don’t worry Michelle doesn’t want to talk, you’re going to see her at our wedding, I’ve meet her before and she’s very beautiful and nice too” I said and he nodded.
? NAOMI ?
“Hello sir” I said over the phone.
“Naomi I just e-mailed you a new script, make sure to preview it and send it back to me” he said and I nodded.
“OK sir, I’ll do just that” I said and walked to my laptop while he ended the call.
I read the script and before I could start working on it my phone began to ring again.
“Hello Mandy” I said answering the call.
“Do you know that Henry is leaving the country? ” she asked.
“What? no how come, he never made mention of that to me” I said in a haste.
“I just found out from Ronnie that he is leaving the country and he is heading to South Africa ” she said.
“South Africa? ” I said and rushed into my room.
“Mandy thank you for letting me know, I’ll talk to you later but right now I’ve got a plane to catch ” I said and she dropped the call.
I called Henry’s number and no one picked up the phone. I tried calling several times but he switched off his phone.
I looked at my account balance if I had enough money to travel all the way to South Africa and just didn’t have time.
I immediately called the airplane agency and booked my flight ticket to South Africa.
I rushed into my room and began parking my things in a hurry, after I was done I changed my clothes and walked out of my apartment.
The last conversation between me and Henry was me not telling him if I’ll marry him or not and now he’s leaving to somewhere else…
“I’ll do everything I can to find him once I get to South Africa” I said as I stopped a taxi.
“Sir, to the airport ” I said and entered into the taxi.
